These are just some of the issues.I called in advance to let the company know I only needed one truck, but two were sent over. I had 4 men working at my home, yet nothing was getting done. Going down my stairs they wedged my headboard in the stairwell. All four people stood around for an hour discuss what should be done. Meanwhile I was trapped upstairs, I had an important appointment that I nearly missed. When I returned from my appointment, two of the men were lounging in the cab of the truck, playing on their phones. I was gone for hours, my husband stayed back at the house, nothing had been done. I called the office several times to let them know what was happening, additionally I sent emails. The guys had been trying to take apart a desk and bed and didn’t have the proper equipment/knowledge to do it. Finally after hours wasted they called a fifth person, the other man arrived and was able to disassemble the furniture within minutes. The clock was supposed to be stop and be restarted once we arrived at the new home. Once at the new home they quickly unloaded the trucks, but had problems with the beds again. Both beds were badly damaged and pieces are missing from one. At all times during reconstruction of my beds at least one person sat around. They left without putting my furniture together and promised to come back later on their own time. I literally paid more then the bed was worth for it to be taken apart and put together. I received a call for my final bill with some decent discounts, which I paid and the invoice was sent to my email. Two days later I was charged again the final payment. The house I moved out of was damaged, two beds were damaged and one bed is missing pieces, they tried to use my white couch cushions in between boxes to level out item, I had to ask several times to have them wrap up my couches, they stood around and argued and bickered. I can go on, and on. I was going to let everything go and move on and concentrate on getting settled into my new home, until the second charge came in on Wednesday. I haven’t even signed the final paperwork because the desk isn’t properly put together and pieces are missing. I should also mention pieces are missing from two bookshelves!

These guys were AMAZING! They worked quickly but also took care of my things. Very nice, funny and easy to work with. Anyone looking to use south side, be sure to request Dante and his crew. They also were great with the kids being around and my kids enjoyed helping them. My brother and sister in law are moving a few days after us and came to our house while moving, they were so impressed they called south side to make sure they were getting the same crew that we got. Definitely 10 out of 10 all around for these guys!!!

Very professional from the phone communication in the beginning, all the way until the truck pulled away. Quick to respond to my request for a quote. The crew of Dante, Von and Jonathan worked like a well oiled machine. They took special care with all of my furniture, especially an old heavy antique cabinet. I have never hired movers before, and I was impressed. Worth every dollar, thank you!

Everything from the estimate process through the end of the move was fantastic. Tony was very helpful on the phone going room-by-room making a list of major items. Steve R, Dante, and Billy were perfect both in loading the truck and unloading at the new house. They kept a good attitude and energy throughout the whole move. They were all friendly and willing to make sure I was satisfied. I would absolutely trust Southside Moving and Storage for my next move. They finished 2.5 hours early saving me quite a bit of money.

Southside provided great service! They arrived on time, loaded everything up safely with great efficiency, and delivered everything safely. We were not sure of the exact location of all of the furniture and they made sure that we would have the least effort to move things after they left. We will definitely use them when we move again! They showed that they cared about doing it right.

The entire process from getting a quote, to booking, confirmations, and the move day was so easy. Billy, Z and Ray worked their tails off non-stop and were very respectful. Would 100% use Southside again!

The workers were good at their job. My only issue is that not all of my belongings were packed and loaded on the truck. Some key items like my backyard furniture and office equipment were left behind possibly due to lack of understanding of what was agreed upon and talked about in the initial consultation by the All My Sons representative.

The first company i called quoted me $700 to move the contents of my 2 bedroom apt. I called Southside and spoke to Matt and was pleasantly surprised. They were incredibly reasonable!! Donte and Marco were great! They were professional and courteous and best of all - they were fast! I will definitely use them again for future moves.

Had an outstanding move with SouthSide Moving going across town for a reasonable price. Steve R, Calvin, and Allen were professional, courteous, and very helpful. They asked exactly what we wanted and where we wanted our things placed. They took great care in our boxes, items, furniture, fragile items, and our hardwood floors. They didnt back down from some tough requests (i.e. bringing heavy couch up and down stairs.) They didnt waste any time and actively worked every minute that was clocked at the end. Overall I was extremely satisfied and will definitely call SouthSide again for my next move, thanks for making a stressful event as smooth as possible!

SouthSide Moving & Storage is a great moving company! I had inquired with several other moving companies as well, and SouthSide was the only company that repeatedly called me back and checked on whether I still needed their service. As for Edward and Paul, a moving dream team, they were amazing!!! They were both so very accommodating, polite, and very gentle with our belongings. If I ever need movers again in the future, its a no brainer. Ill be calling SouthSide again!!!!!!

The movers stole items from me, worth about $500.00. They also forgot to load the washer and dryer the first time, but charged me for them having to go back and pick them up during the second trip. They charged me for a TV box, but never put the TV in a box. Finally, they damaged a number of items during shipping. I contacted the supervisor to address these issues, but he never got back to me. Ive never had such a a horrible experience such as this one.

We were quoted for $575-$675 for our move of 3 bedrooms 2 bath to another 3 bed 2 bath. We paid for 2 guys to move us, but 3 showed up, and they didnt charge us any more for it. They estimated 6 hour move and completed it in 4.45hr. all three movers were kind, respectful, and careful. Only one piece of furniture broke and it was handled well. We ended up only paying $450. I would highly recommend!!

They are a joke, they damaged my house, my treadmill and lost my sewing machine... they charged way more than I was quoted which I was fine with until I saw the damages... I only contacted them about the sewing machine and after a month I was sent a highlighted attachment stating they weren’t liable for damaged property... it totally disappeared... I can’t even believe I spent over $500 for a room for this mess... oh and you have to chase them Around to even get anyone to help you with a claim!

A year ago south side movers moved us from NH. If you have anything you care about DO NOT hire this company. They destroyed my grandfather clock and also another granite clock. When I submitted pictures they said it wasn’t their problem. Worse experience ever- a year later and I’m still upset. How can management of this company sleep at night?

I have a sleep number bed and I called Southside moving and storage to see if they move those beds. I was told they certainly do they do 2 a day at least and they put them together and take them apart all the time. Come the day of the move the movers could not get the whole base down the stairwell. Their manager Tony called me and said his general manager says that they don’t do that type of bed ( that was the his reason i called them salesman said they do them all the time) that have hydraulics ( there are no hydraulics) and reneged on his salespersons contract. Do not use these movers for any reason whatsoever. Poor management and do not live up to what services salesmen promised . Now i have a sleepnumber bed base stuck at the top of a staircase and an argumentative operation manager telling I can take it apart. Then tells me they will take it apart but wont be responsible for any damage. A wife with COPD. In the middle of covide19. With no bed thanks to manager tony of Southside moving and storage.

Great move - exactly fit in tight window and schedule. Very professional, efficient and friendly moving crew of 3 guys. They moved a piano and furniture for our Mom who had passed away after we contracted for the move and they were able to adjust to our new circumstances and be effective and sensitive to our needs. The move was completed without problems and with care and consideration for us and our Moms belongings. They were terrific with the piano and knew exactly how to handle it.

This is seriously the worst moving company I have ever had dealings with. First they showed up four and a half hours late for the move which pushed the entire schedule behind. Once they showed up it was like it was their first move they had ever made. They couldn’t get things into the rooms. Every single piece of furniture these guys moved for me has damage from them. My dresser, my headboard and foot board, my couch, my utility bench. Everything has been damaged. I’ve never been so disgusted with a company in my entire life and truly think I could have paid a teenage neighbor less to do a better job. I will never trust my belongings in the hands of these so called professionals ever again. Thanks for causing stress and the damage to personal belongings.

Southside Moving relocated us yesterday and it was the best experience I could have wished for! It started with great customer service from Sarah all the way to the moving team of Paul, Stevie and Russell. I was impressed from top to bottom with this moving company. Sarah was very helpful getting me set-up and scheduled and answered all my questions. Paul, Stevie and Russell were very professional, quick and organized! If you need to move this is the company to use!

Used them for a local move of some large heavy items in Norfolk. Usually I would ask friends but since you usually pay them in food and beer for moving help, it wouldnt be worth it to drag washers and dryers up 3 flights of stairs for just pizza and some brews. They were super friendly on the phone and very professional while moving everything. They showed up slightly early, which is fine because that just meant they were done sooner. They were careful not to scratch the walls of the old or new place. Would recommend for local moves or just moving a few large items for sure.

Mike and Matthew were fantastic. Mine was a very small move. Only five items. All antiques one a very old grandfather clock built Im 1849 and they took great care to make sure it was well protected. I would use this company any time and send others to them. Thanks again I couldnt be happier.

BEWARE!!! SCAM!!! We used southside movers to move from a second story condo to a three-story house. When I called, The person on the line went room by room asking me about specific items that I wanted moved. I expressly told her that I only wanted the heavy items moved and went into detail about what the items were. There were about 19 pieces of furniture and no boxes. The person on the line said the move would take no longer than 6 hours and quoted us $800. This price was acceptable to us and we booked them.When the moving truck arrived, there were only two men. Keep in mind, I told them that we wanted the heavy furniture moved and they only sent two small men! It took them 6 hours to just load the truck and we had the beds already broken down. After they loaded the truck, they went to lunch. For an hour! They were at our house for 11 hours. We were charged $1300, which included that one hour lunch!!! After reading all the reviews on this company, we realize that this is a common pattern for them. They quote one price then intentionally jack up the time so you are forced to pay more. We have filed a complaint with the BBB. I would encourage you to look up this company under the BBB website. There are four customer alerts on them!Since there were only two small men to move my heavy furniture, they were unable to lift many of the items. We found out after the items were on the truck that they actually slid my china hutch down the stairs to get it out! We had to actually assist them in lifting it to get it into the house. They were unsafe to say the least!When I called the next Monday to ask why there was such a disparity between the guaranteed And the actual price, Tony said well, if they were there that long, thats what you have to pay. When I asked about the one hour lunch that I also paid for, he said he would have to check with his manager and would call me back. Not surprisingly there was never any phone call!Do not use this company!! Save yourself the frustration

I had a move done last week. I was told an amount I owed and signed a contract agreeing to that certain amount. When I looked at my statement the next day I noticed I was charged $100.00 extra. I called and was told that they made a mistake and added the amount on without notifying me. For one week I tried to get a scanned copy of the contract I signed. This is a military move and I need this for my records. For one week my phone calls, requests, and emails were ignored. I just received the scanned copy and they sent the contract over that I had signed with the original amount I was told I would paid. They then sent over a second contract that I NEVER signed. She had cut and pasted my signature on a second one showing a different amount. Absolutely disgusted with this company and would never recommend them to anyone.

Our moving team took considerable care when loading and unloading our furniture and other items. They wrapped our cabinets and tables with blankets for safe moving with no added cost. At no time we felt the pressure of anything going wrong, thanks to the courteous movers.There were no surprises on the final bill. Using SouthSide Moving and Storage was well worth the peace of mind and stress-free move! Hands down the best move ever. Moving is a tough job and these guys did a phenomenal job. I would recommend them to all my friends. I hope to not be moving again, but if I do, SouthSide Moving and Storage will be my first call.

My experience was very good with this company, they helped me to move. The movers were very professional. The prices they quoted were very reasonable. They did a good job. They were pretty fast.

As good, if not better than any of the 10 moves I made in the military. Had the truck loaded in under 2 hours, and unloaded in a little over an hour. Everything was put where I wanted it and nothing was damaged. I highly recommend these guys.

The worse moving experience ever. They were late and very unprofessional. My TV along with a few other things were damaged. My couch and mattresses were very dirty. The crew was so behind schedule that they didnt leave the final location unil 11pm (the move was supposed to start at 8am). A few of my boxes had been opened and went through. I felt very violated. I have filed a claim and was told I would be compensated for my broken TV. I was told that payment would take 3-4 weeks. Its been 2 months and I have not received anything. I followed up with the claims manager and have had both my phone calls and emails ignored. Its been an overall horrible experience.

This moving company was amazing. The price was fair and wasnt expensive. The movers we had were donte and marcel and they were amazing. Very respectful, had great customer service, and the list goes on. They made the move stress free. And when we came to a problem with the large couch not fitting through the door. They were quick to come up with a solution to get it into the apartment. I would recommend these two guys and this company to anyone. They worked hard and so much more. And the office staff Yvette had amazing customer service. I will be using this company again.

I have used this company 3 times when I was in a pinch. They were worked with me each time. Workers were very professional and timely.

While scheduling was flexible, movers were very slow increasing the cost and the manager/owner (Tony M) refused to follow-up regarding damages. Tony did not respond to multiple messages, nor did he respond to the submitted damage claim form. This is despite the movers themselves, in writing, acknowledging theyd broken an item. Very unprofessional.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. The quoter came to my place of business discussed how items should be moved and the best way to do it (the use of saw horses for clothing on a u bar, 4-wheel dollies for H racks, and etc.) The actual moving crew had no knowledge of any of this come moving day. This move cost me a whole days worth of business because we essentially received all of our merchandise in a pile. It also cost me 200 hours of labor to fix the whole mess. My written response went unanswered by the company to top it off. DO NOT....I REPEAT DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

They charged $150 extra to bring a char-broiler out of my unit so I could pick it up. Also, they billed me monthly storage rental charges after everything was picked up and account was closed. Save yourself time, money and headaches by going with a different storage company.

I moved from Virginia Beach to Newport news because I recently opened up a business in Newport News. I packed all of my possessions and made sure everything was ready for the movers. I left the house I was moving from to the house I was moving to so I could prepare my house for all of the new furniture. When they moved the stuff into my new place they tore a hole in the side of my sectional couch, chipped paint off of my walls, door ways, and more in the new home and left scuff marks on the floor and walls. When I returned to the home I was moving from to clean. I realized they left a ton of stuff behind; glass for on top of some tables, some pictures, some boxes, etc. Too much to fit into my car. Upon discovering this I wrote to the company and have not received a response. This has been about a week and a half. I am very disappointed in the lack of response to my complaint. I even sent pictures and have gotten no response of resolution to the issue. I now have to paint the walls, trim, door ways, etc in my new home and had to pay someone to move the remainder of my stuff from my old home. I would not use them or recommend that anyone else uses them.

Southside made my move from Gloucester to Virginia Beach so much easier. The guys were fantastic... very professional, helpful and accommodating. Overall it was a surprisingly smooth experience for me, and I would highly recommend these guys!

Today I had the best experience with moving that I could ever wish for. It started a couple of weeks ago with me contacting FlatRate for a quote. Marcus was very informative and easy to work with. The quote was reasonable, and much better than those other companies quotes that were by the hour, with no not-to-exceed price. My move completed by the team of Jake, and Chris. They were incredible, quick, careful and very easy to work with. I was thinking that today was going to be the most stressful day of this whole moving process, but they made it the easiest day possible. They provided a great (in fact, they exceeded my wildest expectations) moving experience. I dont think there is anything that they could have done to make it better. Thanks Southside

Disgusting company. Destroyed my property and damaged my residence. I lost hundreds in groceries and refrigerated prescriptions when the fridge I paid them nearly $300 to move immediately stopped working. After filing a claim and having to HOUND them for a response they stated it’s not their fault. Really? After the bungled delivery the movers hung around in my property until they were explicitly told they would not be receiving a tip and to leave immediately. Horrible horrible company and service.

Do not use this company!!! The actual movers were very professional and did a good job. But we were charged 50% more than our original estimate with no explanation. I have called multiple times and no documentation has been provided to explain why this significantly higher charge was placed on my credit card. The people on the phone seem to have no regard for the customer. I am very dissatisfied and frustrated.

This review is very late in posting, but I hired Southside Moving and Storage to move my daughter and I in February, 2015, and they did a fantastic job. They movers were on time, polite, took care with our items, and let my OCDness roll off their shoulders. I have to warn other prospective movers of the experience I encountered. I did not sign a contract for moving services but was asked to give my bank card number to pencil in the date to move. I was told my card would not be charged until I confirmed needing the services. I called Ms. Jenkins and informed her I would not need the services the next day after our initial conversation. Needless and horrifying to say she charged my card $405.00! This is illegal as we had no signed contract and even if I did sign one it says if you plan to cancel a refund would be given if you cancel within 7 days. I called and cancelled in 1 day. Thank God my bank is disputing and rectifying this matter in my favor, but please be informed that if you give them your bank card they will illegally charge you even if you dont authorize or have a contract in writing!! Stay away from this company...

I had a great experience with SouthSide/Mid-Atlantic movers. My contact person for the contract was Bruce WoodHouse. Such a nice and lovely guy to work with. He followed up, clarified and answered my numerous questions (this was my first big/professional move) before I signed the contract and was amenable to my requests within the constraints of the contract. I was nervous but he reassured me time and again that my move would be smooth. He was right! Paul (one of the movers) called me a day before to confirm the move. I also received a call from the office shortly after that to ensure that the confirmation had happened. The moving day was rainy and messy. There were also mechanical issues with the truck (on their way to my place in the morning) but it was replaced within an hour. Paul and Tom (moving guys) worked really hard to recover the time lost and took very good care of my furniture and belongings. No damages despite the rains! They were very kind, polite and professional. I am happy I chose Southside/Mid-Atlantic movers. Thanks for a job well done!

Best decision I made! Received several quotes from other companies in the area from national chains to local companies. SouthSide had an accurate quote without unseen add-on charges. Booking the move was simple, paying the deposit was simple and the final charges were less than expected. Movers showed up on-time and looked the part; professional and respectful movers ready to work.I hate moving...the stress of playing Jenga in a Uhaul...carrying stuff that leaves a dull pain in your back for days. This was the fastest and least stressful move to date. We will use this service for our next move without a doubt! Thank you Tony, Claude and Mike!

I thought it was a good company by looking at the reviews but it wasnt good for me. They moved my furniture ok but they said they couldnt find one of the vaults with some of my furniture. so Im trying to figure out how can you lose a whole vault with furniture my two year old daughters canopy bed lost, my entertainment center lost, dishes lost, tables lost they all I can say if anyone use them just make sure they dont lose the vault because I dont see how you lose a whole vault!!! Then the company informs me that that will not compensate me for my lost. Why?, I have a problem with that.

Southside did an excellent job with our move. The service from the office staff was wonderful and the movers were professional and friendly. They were careful with our belongings and maintained a good attitude during a large move and while moving an 800lb safe to the second floor. We were so pleased and will give Southside our highest recommendation to our family and friends.

Southside is very unprofessional. The movers broke several of my personal items and because it didnt add up to be more than their deductible, its not important enough for them to compensate or replace the items. No one responded to my claim after 30 days so I decided to follow up, only to find out that my items that are priceless to me is not worth much to them! I will not refer or ever use their service EVER again! Very poor customer service!

Terrible. Check out the reviews on Yelp (which I belatedly looked at). They arrived on time and then it all went downhill from there. They quoted me a 4 hour move over the phone (and they charge hourly). They took 7.5 hours to move very little furniture (nothing complicated like TV systems they had to disassemble or appliances) and some boxes. They left their coffee cups, some trash, they left all of the lights on, and THEY LEFT SEVERAL OF MY BOXES in the apartment. I didnt find out until I returned to the apartment the next day (I left earlier to meet them at the house). Ive emailed and called several times. I have talked to Paul and Vernon. Paul barely talked to me, wont even respond to emails I send. Vernon just asks if I want to leave a message. I keep getting the run around. Ive never even spoken to the manager, Deana, that they say is handling it. As soon as they hear its me, I am told shes at lunch or at a meeting or just busy. Ive been told shell call and she hasnt. Ive asked for a claims form and that hasnt been emailed as promised.I have recently called my bank to dispute the charges they went ahead and placed on my card even though I believe they violated their contract by not completing the move.Save your money and your time and go elsewhere. These people rob you completely.

Matt was well informed and helpful in setting things up. The guys (Cory, TJ and DeBarron) showed up on time and worked hard (an understatement) the entire time!Great Job Southside!

If I could give negative stars I would. Lets first start with the person, Marcus, that came to assess the amount of items that will be packed up. We agreed upon a delivery date and a few hours later I receive an email where the delivery date changed for 2 weeks later than we agreed. The packers said they had to empty our dresser drawers. In my mind and from previous moving experiences the packers wrapped the dressers with our belongs inside it. The problem is added unnecessary work when unpacking. So the unpackers only finished about 25% of the unpacking and 2 of the 3 movers said after 4 hours being there they have to leave for another unpacking job. They were dumping our belongings on the floor. To include silverware, pots, pans, and the like. My wife called the supervisor and she tried to trick my wife to signing paperwork for a partial move. If my wife signed no one would have to return to complete unpacking. Essentially it took about 7 days until someone came to finish unpacking. This was the worst moving experience ever! It is a wonder they are still in business.

I was given a quote for my move and then when it was over with the added on addition travel time that was not told to me. I called and they say they add to everyone move. This information should been relayed to be before hand, So be careful if you use them I will NOT use them in the furture.

Southside Moving and Storage did an outstanding job moving my family. The movers were professional, they showed up on time and they moved really fast. I would recommend this company.

This is the BEST moving company ever! From working with Mr. Tony Hughes to set up the move to the day of the moving was fantastic. And, then my movers showed up - Mr. T.J. and Mr. Cory. These gentlemen were so very, very professional. They kept me appraised of everything going on and treated my stuff as if it was their own. T.J. and Cory were the best movers I have every worked with. My neighbors came down to tell me how impressed they were with my movers. They are the BEST!!!!! I highly recommend this moving company and T.J. and Cory if you can get them.

Worst experience I have ever had with movers. We paid a lot of money to have them pack us and they were very excessive with the packing material. We were moving from one floor of a building to another and they brought a truck, no dolly and no packing wrap. They borrowed a dolly from our apartment complex and damaged it. They left items in the old apartment they should have moved. Half of the boxes werent market. I called customer service every day for 5 days and not one call back. They didnt have any problem charging my credit card!

I would not recommend Southside Moving and Storage. Customer service has been virtually non-existent in my case. My move was underquoted, understaffed and several pieces of furniture were broken and/or damaged. Concerns were addressed prior to the move with the Richmond sales rep, Brenda as well as on the day of the move. To no avail. The movers-as well as another employee of the company-confirmed I had a two truck, 4 man move. What I got was one truck and three men, unfortunately, one of the men was ill and not much assistance with the move.After the move, I filed my claim, received the expected denial as I’d not purchased additional insurance. I had to call for the disposition of my claim. I then wrote a letter to the sales manager: Joe El-Attar. The letter is below. To date, I have received no response from Mr. El-Attar. I have initiated several phone calls to him and only twice has he contacted me-and both times I was not available to take the call.August 9, 2017Dear Mr. El-Attar,Attached you will find my original claim for damage sustained by my personal belongings dueto the negligence of your contracted crew and the mismanagement of my move in general. Ihad hoped that a reasonable response would be received from your claim department, but aswith the majority of my interactions with your company, your policies and rules and definitionswere simply repeated back to me and no alternative solutions, apologies or empathy were offered.Prior to my move I brought cube sheet concerns to the attention of your sales rep and dispatcher-the number of boxes was listed as 10—I had at least 100. I was still underquoted andunderstaffed. On moving day, my concerns were addressed by your sales rep advising me to“take a deep breath”. The day of my 3 man move, one of the men was ill and essentially unableto help for the majority of the day. At 6 pm with my damaged furniture, and quite a bit remainingto be moved, I told the men I’d finish on my own.I am asking your company to be accountable for the consequences of improper handling ofmy property. I am a customer looking for a solution to a damage incurred by contracting withyour company. I simply want my items repaired and I feel it should be at Southside Moving andStorage’s expense.The antique hutch was broken even before we left my previous residence-yourcrew member told me and admitted it was his fault. My expectation was that my belongingswould be handled in a professional manner, following general moving protocol and procedures.It was not unreasonable for me to expect that my antique hutch would be wrapped andsecured before the truck moved. It was not unreasonable for me to expect the same treatmentfor my dining room table-blankets secured on the table would have prevented the scrapes allthe way around the table. The same holds true for my sofa—light colored or not, proper wrappingand securing would have prevented the damage. This expectation also applies to the antiquesewing chest with the leg snapped off. IF your customers cannot expect for their belongingsto be handled in a professional manner, that should be made clear before signing any contractor offering insurance coverage.I request that you review my claim and the circumstances concerning the damage and offer aviable solution to the problem, which in my opinion, is repair of my damaged items, Thank youfor your time and l look forward to hearing from you soon.

My mother called SouthSide Moving and Storage to have them move a couch for her. There were unable to move it and ripped it instead. She has spent the last 3 weeks trying to get them to come and help her and they keep giving her the run around. When she asked me to call and try to help her because they were ignoring her calls Paul was extremely rude to me on the phone, admitted that she had probably been getting the run around and then hung up on me. I suggest you check their online reviews. Not the ones they published but independent ones before you call.It has been over a month. After days of shaming them online which I highly recomend they finally fixed the couch but still have not fixed the many damages to the wall. They make appointments to come and never show up then they stop taking your calls.I suggest you shop around.

The absolute worst customer experience I have had with any company I have worked with. The initial quote was fine and then it went all downhill from here. The packers showed up late, were severely understaffed and then took three times as long as any other of my 4 moves across the country. They were supposed to be finished by 1pm on the second day and (after leaving twice for 2 hours each time!) didnt finish until 12:30 in the morning which left my fiancé to have to find a hotel for the night as driving was not an option. Then they didnt show up until 2pm after scheduling 8am. Needless to say they werent done until 1 in the morning. Additionally, my fiancé and I had to help them in order to get done by that time! I asked for money back after all the heartaches and the owner not only insulted me and my fiancé by only offering $200 but then was rude and completely discounted the value of my business to my face! If these were the only movers left on the planet, I would not use them again. I cant express how horrible they were at all aspects.

Terrible Experience!!! DO NOT USE Southside Movers! The movers cracked my 46in Flat Screen tv and placed it behind my larger TV to hide it. I filed a claim and the Operations Manager -Deanna Spina, rejected my claim stating there was no way to PROVE it. AND, the lead mover continues to harass me for dinner dates?!?!? There are more professional companies, avoid them like the plague!!!!

Good place for your storage needs

We hired Southside moving to move 5 items back in January. We paid for bed bags which the movers didnt use. They damaged 3 of the 5 items that we were having moved and took 2 breaks on our bill one which was 15 minutes and another taking a dump in our new home.....the move was only 1-1/2 hours. Not only would they not compensate us for damage or bed bags, they took a dump on our dime! Stay away from this shady company.

They were horrible. They came late, tried to get me to tip in advance an stretched there time to over charge. Do not use them. RUN

Kasmin is a great moving specialist that made me feel comfortable from start to finish in regards to scheduling. Eugeniy and Eric were a great moving team! They showed up on time, were kind, and very organized and careful with our belongings. Even speaking with Joe, one of the GMs of the company was great! I would certainly recommend this company for any moving services to our family and friends!Thanks again Southside Moving and Storage for a great moving experience!

Their communication and organization stinks. The movers were 4 hours late and no one could tell my why, I still havent gotten an explaination. This turned a one day move into a two day move at the end of which the movers had no paperwork on hand for me. Its been three weeks and I still cant get a receipt out of them. They drafted more than $400 over than their estimate and their office personel couldnt pull up my paperwork to give me an explaination.The actual movers Frank and Shavon, were professional, fast, careful, and hardworking. If they could only be punctual and start improving their communication and customer service in the office (Paul, asking to speak to a manager is not rude), theyd be fine.Bad experience.

Only reason I gave one star was because Cody and Glenn were great. Unfortunately, the job was seriously understaffed and under-supported by Southside management.Sending two guys to move a 5 bedroom house and then expecting them to load up, get weighed and move 3 hours to Charlottesville, unload and head back to Virginia Beach on the same day was crazy. Appeals to management to get them more help or allow them to get a hotel and unload the next day were ignored. Numerous federal and state transportation laws were violated in having this well-meaning crew work from 8am one day to 9 am on their return the next. Not even considering the potential safety disaster in having a crew move 6500 lbs and drive both ways without a rest, they would have been subject to arrest had their logs been checked or had they been pulled for any reason. Find another company! Appeals to the owners and managers have completely been ignored. Dont risk it with these guys - they are bad news and deserve investigation if not fines!

Absolutely amazing service from beginning to end.

We recently used this company for a local move. A few items were missing and when we tried to get in contact with the woman who we were told handles missing items, she would not contact us back. The company would not even return calls or emails from the BBB. Not a trustworthy company AT ALL!
