Cold brew here is super delicious! The vibe is very comfortable, usually I dont hang out in places but we actually stayed and ended up getting 2 growlers of the coffee to go it was so good! Came back the next day for more too! I wish I lived near this place
Cool vibe. Good place to get some work done. ☕️ was just ok.
Came to check out the new location. Its great. Very open and spacious with a great amount of seating. There are community tables as well as bar stools and of course my favorite tables made for 1 or 2. Tried out the Cherry Blossom cold brew. Its a little sweet for me probably because I dont add sugar to my coffee. Definitely will be back.
Cute place good service, very good to sit down and read/work as the music is quiet and easy to listen to. The coffee is too dark, espresso is just bitter, no other flavors apart from intense bitterness. Would maybe come back for tea or a milk drink.
Pretty inside and plenty of space to do your Starbucks thing and pretty much the D.C. Version of it. Still expensive as s*** for some regular coffee and they even have snobby employees to add to the atmosphere. Not for my tone....
Love their coffee. I receive a can of beans as gifts a couple of times a year. Too bad that theyre out of the Made in D C. stickers. Maybe Ill get one next time. Or maybe theyll mail a couple to me? Great store. Friendly helpful staff. And the place smells great!!!
The Georgetown store is spacious and tastefully appointed inside, allowing for some measure of social distancing in the age of COVID. Mask wearing inside is still mandatory as it should be. There are also a few curbside tables and chairs set up just outside the store on Wisconsin Ave. Coffee is always delicious.
Morning coffee stop every day during our visit. Good coffee, more expensive than Starbucks, and about the same quality but slightly less bitter than Starbucks. I enjoyed sitting in the comfy chairs up front watching the people come and go as I read my book and sipped my coffee. Cute atmosphere and pleasantly busy.
4 star for ambiance, convenience of outlets and large space for people to work/hang out. 1 star for the most disgusting chia Ive ever experienced. 1st of all chia = tea, this was NOT TEA! It tasted like clove & cinnamon infused honey poured into a big glass of milk. Sickeningly sweet. I really do feel sick after drinking 1/2 of it. Maybe their coffee is the redeeming beve. I do not recommend the chia unless you want spicy milk candy to drink.
Love that the non-dairy, oat and almond milk, are free of charge (as it should be in all coffee shops). Love the space and ambience inside. Got an iced vanilla latte with oat milk, and it was delicious. 👍🏽👍🏽
I was only visiting DC for a few days, but I came to Compass Coffee twice for the almond butter latte! I’ve never had this flavor before, but it was so smooth and creamy. The richness of this latte from my first visit made me stop by again. If I was a local, I’d be here a lot! Great place to work as well, I stayed for 4-5 hours working on my laptop with good wifi.
They open early so they get a star for that. Their espresso is a bit sharp for my tatste. Id be here all the time if I lived in this area.
Compass Coffee does a great job in terms of consistency of their coffee, and this shop is no exception! A lot varieties, espresso, latte, pour-over, cold brew, what have you. The staff are very knowledgeable about coffee. The location can’t be better. The only downside is you may find a lot students sitting here for hours thus it isn’t easy to find a seat :P
Nice place with really good coffee. Definitely recommend.
I’ve yet to find a Compass in DC that wasn’t awesome. The staff are always lovely, the coffee is great, and cheaper than Starbucks - and this place is no exception. It was packed but the line kept moving, even for opening weekend. The worst thing about this Compass is that it’s so close to my work, I fear I’ll be here all the time.
Wifi works well, coffee is great, atmosphere is cool!
Chill beats, easy to focus and work while sippin on some cool Joe 😎
Probably the best nitro cold brew Ive ever had
It was recommended to us so we gave it a try. Good pastries and coffee, tho the service was only mediocre.
Great coffee and bakery items. Seems to be a local favorite for the younger crowd as seating is rarely available. But with coffee this delicious, it is understandable. Love the area.
Perfect! High quality coffee and great aesthetic.
This place has amazing beverages. Also, they turned what looks like an old music venue or theater and made it coffee shop. Great customer service as well. Friends are about to go back in and buy another round.
We were exploring Georgetown as a group of out of towners and stumbled across Compass Coffee one afternoon and decided to step inside given the cool decor. We got an iced vanilla latte and it was truly of the best expresso beverages Ive ever had. Definitely would love to go back and try something else. If youre in Georgetown and looking for a pick-me-up do your self a favor and stop here!
I ordered a drink here and sat outside with a friend since indoor dining is restricted. We enjoyed our coffee and conversation for sometime on the tables outside the front door in the street. I got up to use the restroom and upon exiting the bathroom was greeted by a gal that said “I can take your order over here” sarcastically. I replied “oh I was just using the restroom” she again sarcastically replied “yeah bathrooms are for customers only.” I explained to her I already bought a drink and was sitting outside, and she again rudely rolled her eyes and said ok. This again happened when my friend who also paid for her coffee and still enjoying it except in front of a line of people in the store. Later on when we came in I over hear her explaining she is the new manager, which is surprising that someone in a leadership position has time to police the restroom and make paying customers feel unwelcome. There are plenty of other places to spend my money at then with this lady. The ONLY reason I gave 2 stars is because the other staff working were welcoming and kind.
Fast service, open airy cafe and the chai latte was amazing.
Their Chai Lattee is an inch of simple syrup and the entire cup is milk. Not actually chai (?)
Cool space and good coffee.
First time one of the baristas was rude and dumped whole can of cinnamon. Second time was better because one of the baristas knows sign language, I like their chai latte and the area is always clean. Will frequent this spot anytime I’m in the area.
Just a dressed up Starbucks with a minimalistic aesthetic and kitschy lighting. Coffee is sufficient and pastries are mediocre. Staff interaction is facile at best. Perfectly adequate if you want to disappear behind your screens and ignore the humans around you. Im not looking for obsequious customer service or to make this my third-place. Its just... lacking. Most of you will feel right at home here.
Great coffee. Proud to be made in DC. Cherry blossom cold brew is good, but a little too sweet. This location is spacious and welcoming.
Great Nitro Cold Brew. Maybe better than Starbucks. Great service and very nice staff. Highly recommend.
Nice comfortable joint, good coffee
I have nice coffee experiences at Compass Coffee. I personally love their sag paneers as a quick snack to go. The ambience is nice and inviting for sitting in as well. Recommended for a local DC coffee place.
Passed this place twice because if youre not paying attention youll see the old theater sign, they dont have a sign on the outside of the building, and with the windows reflecting everything its hard to spot. But the place is great, very clean, plenty of places to sit and hang out. Cappuccino was great, very flavorful. I always forget how small their small size is, I think its 6 or 8oz. But thats on me. Very friendly staff, great prompt service. Will be back!
New house caffe in Wisconsin Ave NW, great pleasure to enjoy casual doppio espresso with friend. Love to coming back. Excellent service and guest skills.
One of the better places to do work in the Georgetown area. Low key enough not to attract huge crowds and big enough to always get an open table. Coffee is not bad as well, their Nitro is solid and well priced.
This place is always packed, but good spot to study, read, or have good conversations. Its pretty big, has some comfortable chairs, but overall is a nice place to be.
Really nice environment. Beautiful appointed inside, great coffee. Highly recommend
Love to come here since they recently opened. The location is so huge that there’s always seating. And of course, Compass coffee and pastries are top-notch.
Just checked out the new Compass Coffee location on Wisconsin Ave in Georgetown. The space is absolutely amazing. There are large windows with lots of natual lighting including a view of gardens/fountains out the back. There is tons of seating and lots of comfy couches as well as a chic gas fire behind a glass facade. This is definitely going to become the go to meet up place in Georgetown. It has a great vibe and friendly staff. I tried the Tasty6 “Mighty Almond” shake with 15 grams of plant protein for immune system support and muscle recovery. It was delicious and has a great nutrient profile. All I can say is I will be coming here often!
Great coffee. Nice ambience. Just had a successful business meeting here.
Beautiful spacious interior that manages to be a very pleasant noise level, even when crowded. Coffee and biscotti were excellent, and I love the sparkling water on tap!
Friendly staff, good coffee options, would recommend!
Terrific place to work, read, meet. Great coffee. Very friendly people. Lots of seating of all kinds.
Nice wide open space
The best Place to buy cofee in town! Dont og to Starbucks, og here!
Great location, super spacious. Nice atmosphere, good coffee
Best coffee place in Georgetown by far. Very cozy and fun. You just cant leave.
OPEN FOR BIZ but still no indoor seating 🥺
Helpful service ! Just tell the Baristas if you want anything special or different and they can modify the drink to your liking !
Amazing coffee and comfort. Incredible service - great place, highly recommend!
Coffee shop Nirvana for working. Poofy chairs lots of tables and outlets. Had a coconut coldbrew that was spot in.
I paid 7.95 for a growler of nitro... and they gave me 1/4 of the growler. I asked before if I can bring my own container, to avoid wasting glass bottles and they said it was ok to do it. I asked the barista if it was 32 oz. and she said I just filled it up... (whatever that means.)
Great place to get coffee and work on your computer
Wow! Had the turmeric and honey latte, Go, now!
One of my favorite coffee shops in DC
Good place to relax & time killing
Great service, great location, delicious coffee!
Very neat modern place, awesome coffee.
The best coffee shop in DC. Hands down.
Awesome experience and beautiful huge store!
Excellent coffee and even better service
Great service and excellent coffee!!!
80s 90s music played at the right volume, self-serve water, two bathrooms, ample seats that are spread out, not sure about outlets, Nutella coffee was good. Coming again.
A lot of different options in addition to full suite of coffee classics.
Try a pumpkin turmeric latte!
Ambience and friendly, competent service
One of the best cafe in DC
Great coffee, friendly staff
Cool.
Great place.
Beautiful historic location
Very relaxing
Great coffee
Best coffee in DC
So excellent
Great
Yep its a five
Good coffee. Very good attention. The place was at maximum operating capacity due to Covid19, so I could not enjoy my coffee there. But they were very kind and cordial in telling me to get cold with my coffee, hahahahaha.
Loved it, great concept and delicious coffee
One of the amazing stops of Georgetown. Comfort is at the forefront. You can spend most of your time. ☕
The perfect place for any meeting. Very cool
The best gingerbread cookie I have ever eaten !!!.
