Jamah Robinson showed me around and made sure I got the best deal (1st month free), excellent service! He took me to look at 2 units & showed all the loading areas where I could bring stuff in. He was very friendly; Im going to recommend this location whenever friends are looking to store anything.Plenty of size options for units as well as insurance to suit different needs based on what youre storing. Can access storage space from early to late, while office hours are reasonable every day of the week, incl Sundays.

Have been using this storage facility for about 2 years now. Ran into an issue recently and Darius worked diligently to resolve it quickly. He was very helpful, as have been everyone else I’ve come across here. Great customer service, and thank you again!

Best service, facility and location I could have asked for. The team on-site is stellar. I stored my belongings here for 7 years and when I went yesterday to move out, Steven and his teammates made the process totally stress free - to the point of directing traffic so I could move my truck to the right loading dock. Extra Space Storage in Washington DC on U St. Is a clean, quiet facility which offers safe and secure storage of your belongings. The staff is amazing!! Always friendly and helpful. Quick story.... I was @ the storage facility and my female dog, Little Star started into labor. When the staff heard and saw the puppies, they were excited as I was. I thought they would ask me to leave?.. Far from that.. they said take your time and would come back and check on me and my new additions. Basically the staff is awesome!! The manager Danielle is on point and obviously the rest of the staff follows suit. Friendly, courteous and efficient. I recommend if youre in need of storage space. Had a great experience storing my belongings with Extra Space while I relocated for about a year and a half. would highly recommend the U St location. was disappointed they raised my rent within two months of having my unit, but ultimately was a fair price for the space/location/convenience of storing with Extra Space

Very good customer service, Sean made it easy for me on site. I kept my furniture and boxes for 6 months there without a problem. The only improvement I could see is to offer later opening times in the evenings and weekends. But overall I recommend.

I needed to get a storage space quickly during a very busy time. Josh was delightful to work with, he called me back when I requested (on several occasions), was polite and knowledgeable.I havent even stored anything here yet, but if the rest of the operation is managed similarly to how Josh helped me - Extra Space Storage will easily exceed all expectations.

Went in and Joshua took great care of us. The place was a bit busy with students picking up their stuff from school and dropping off, but he was able to show up spaces and help us decide what would work best for us. So happy to be able to come from out of state and have our storage needs taken care of so easily. We’re very pleased.

I reserved this storage unit online based on the reviews. The manager called me right away and completed the storage unit contract with me. This process was extremely easy and very well set up.THEN I went to visit the unit and it was the WORST STORAGE UNIT I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY ENTIRE LIFE. This place is NOT climate controlled. It is HOT and smells musty. It is humid. The only climate control is that your stuff is in a building.Second... this place is supposed to be SECURE..... There are homeless people on the first floor of the storage unit with easy access to any floor.I did not feel safe going inside my storage unit. It felt like something out of a horror movie.Attached are pictures of the inside of what is supposed to be a clean, safe, climate controlled storage unit. DIRTY.I would not recommend this place and when I called they did not refund my first month. I never had been in the storage unit or placed a single item in there. You may as well throw your things in the trash instead of paying for a unit here.Cube Smart down the street on Florida avenue is a much better option if you are looking for a secure, climate controlled, safe, clean storage unit.

Ron at U Street in DC was very, very helpful and assisted me with my payment, although my unit was actually at a different Extra Space Storage location!!! Great guy.

The manager, Joshua, was amazing!!! We drove up from Texas to DC to pick up our stuff from storage only to find out, the location was closed on the 4th of July. We needed to drive back to Texas to get back to work. Joshua drove an hour into DC on his day off from work to come to let us into the location so we could get into our storage unite. He saved us! Absolutely thankful! Such great customer service and kindness!! Thank you, Joshua!!!!!!

The bathrooms are never open. They keep it locked. I assumed to put stopping the toilet so they punish everyone. Other then that its clean and well run.

Danielle from the U street location was beyond helpful. While I was moving out if my dorm nearby, she assured me that my items would be safe and that I would be paying the best price, due to the fact that I am a college student and Covid-19 has been hard on us all. I will use this place again!

Love this location!! The elevators were not functioning the day I moved my stuff out of my dorm. My original unit was on the 6th floor, and the staff was super kinda and accommodating and gave me a unit to move my stuff into on the first floor at no extra cost!! They even stayed after hours until all our items were moved in. The staff goes out of the way for their customers and I greatly appreciate that. Thank you for your service!!

This storage facility is very well run and efficient. I received a call immediately after reserving a space and it was a smooth process ever since. This place is great! Everything was so simple. Leigha took care of everything, got us all set up and was extremely patient and understanding with our ability to arrive at the time we specified. It was very busy that day, but that did not take away from her ability to give us her undivided attention. Great place to give your business to.

I have used this place many times before and it is great. It’s also very convenient if you live in the neighborhood. But I was told I had access from 6 AM to 10 PM and when I went there on September 7 I was locked out finally and employee arrived at about 935 and was irritated that I was blocking the entrance to the storage units. I explained I’ve been here since 9 am and access is 6 a.m - 10 pm! I lost SOOOO MUCH TIME! What a joke! No one answers the phone number listed in the response! And I wasnt out of ordinary hours! Its 6:26 pm and I get the same standard message! No one answers the phone. EVER! Unless they want you to rent, of course! Fire? Forget it. Flooding? Forget it.

Amazing Customer Service! Lee and Leigha went above and beyond for me and were helpful every step of the way. I flew out to DC from Seattle with no prior knowledge about my storage units (they were set up by my company put into my name) and they were able to sort out my access, add additional members to my account, and get me all set up with locks in one easy transaction. I can fly home to Seattle feeling loads better than I did coming out here because of their amazing service. Thank you Lee and Leigha!
