I can’t say enough about my experience with Wendy at Ulta. She is fabulous and very talented. My hair was very blonde/ orange. Washed me out. I’m tired out trying so many hair salons and getting no where. She made me feel beautiful and she knows her stuff! All I can say is I have found my new home! I am grateful and I feel like a brand new women!!! I highly recommend WENDY!!!!

Incredible! It was my first time I here, but it was immaculate! The place had a very clean look and was packed with so much cool stuff. Everyone I came into contact with there from the staff was very polite and helpful. They even have a salon inside (I never knew!) Ill definitely be going back!

Every time I visit this location, I have nothing but great experiences. I especially love getting my hair done by stylist Lyndsay. She does a wonderful job on my hair and treats me great.

Visited here with my daughter, she was shopping. I have what I need as I dont wear much makeup. I like to keep it simple. I still like looking around. Always a pleasant inside window shopping even though I walked around looking at many products I do enjoy it. Very well lit, pleasant interaction with different employees. I wouldn’t want my worse enemy to go to this salon, worse experience ever ! I made an appointment yesterday which was Saturday for a wash and blow out. She was so rough with her fingers shampooing me that I told her can you stop that hurts, she then proceeds to brush my hair in the sink stating so the conditioner can absorb better, the brushing was also rough that I told her again to stop and I’ll brush it myself when we get to the chair, we proceed to the chair and she handed me the brush the first stroke I took with the brush a big Chunk of my hair was on the brush and my hair started coming out...God knows what she put in my hair ! I went back to the sink and started rinsing my own hair to rinse out whatever she put in it without my approval. This place doesn’t even deserve a one star but to write this review I had to put the least star !

Great store, great selection of fragrances !! Must check out the men’s selection, Staff can Be Extremely Pushy & Management Always Thinks Someone Is Stealing . You will get followed your whole time there . I hate how when you walk into the store everyone gives you an attitude like you owe them something . Also a customer made a racist comment to a staff members there and management didn’t do anything about the employee but removed them from the premises. Which means they took the customers side and condone racism in this establishment if you don’t look like you have money don’t go into this place because they are big on profiling customers ! Check out Amanda & Tiara In The Salon (Not Ulta Employees ) but great hairstylists and very friendly !!!

I had such a great experience today at the Waterbury Ulta store. Shemar was amazing and helpful — instantly knew which lip gloss to suggest, and it’s now my favorite ever! (Too Faced, Lip Injection Extreme). The staff is excited to help. I will definitely come back!

The associated was very helpful with my question about my order.

Today was my first time there and I won’t be returning. Had staff and security near me the whole time. They made me feel like they thought I was stealing, and I was followed throughout my brief time in the store. Very uncomfortable situation, I work hard for my money. I’ve never been in a situation like that, won’t be made to feel like that again. I shouldn’t have spent my money there, but it is a last minute gift and I was pressed for time. Needless to say I won’t be returning.

These girls are always so nice and helpful. I only shop sephora and Ulta but it is worth mentioning that they also carry drug store makeup because Sephora doesnt. I appreciate the variety and attentiveness of the staff because they take care of you without being overbearing or making you uncomfortable. Definitely would recommend. My new fav place 👌❤️

Staff is too busy talking with each other to assist customers. I walked past a number of different groups talking and I spoke out loud as if I was talking to myself asking, I wonder what would work best for me. They glanced at me and just kept chatting with each other. I dont think that I will be going back for awhile if ever. Sephoria, you have a new customer because I left Ulta after being ignored and went to Sephoria where they couldnt be more helpful or nice and knowledgeable.

Worst service one could ever have. They are just incompetent, rude and unprofessional. I would not recommend anyone to go there especially at Hair salon.

During my visit to Ulta as a beginner to makeup application. I was returning a foundation that was too dark for me. The associate who I was instructed to seek guidance from ignored me for approximately 3 minutes as she talked to her colleague, then looked up and questioned if I needed help. After asking which shade she felt would be best fit she told me choose between two that were obviously too light, but I followed instructions to apply a swatch in my car and return if too light. As assumed it was too light. I went back into return where no associates were in sight to assist me finding a color that wasn’t out on the shelves. I returned my foundation altogether and be taking my business to Sephora, as I have previously. I only gave two stars because my original interaction with Deb was professional, patient, and kind although her matching was wrong.

I’m giving this store 3 stars because they have a friendly helpful staff. I would have gave them 5 if it wasn’t for your security guard. I was there Thursday August 6th and he was SO DISRESPECTFUL to one of your employees. Im not going to mention her name for her own privacy but she has helped me endless amount of times and is the sweetest person I don’t understand how anyone could ever Insult her the way he did. He was screaming at her, belittling her, in front of the whole store. It was very degrading to witness and he does not deserve to be there. Every security guard that location has sucks but this one takes the cake.

I have been going to Ulta for the past 3 months for facials. I initially walked off the street and met Carmina. I told her how sensitive I was to products. She tested a bit behind my ear and was so helpful and kind I scheduled an appointment.I have been getting facials from her ever since. My skin is so much clearer now from when we began. I am so appreciative of her advice and her friendliness.Definitely worth stopping in and talking to her!

This Ulta is awesome. Im greeted at the door almost every time, which I like. The displays and testers are tidy and in good order. The store itself is clean and welcoming. The line moves quickly, if there is one, and the cashiers and salespeople are always friendly and helpful. I dont ever feel followed in this store either. Ive been to other Ulta stores and it feels like the employees wont leave you alone or if you do have a question, they are nowhere to be found. It isnt like that here because this is a great store.

I Had a defective eye brow pencil, returned with no issues with a receipt. also had my hair done and blown out by manager Victoria and she did an awesome job. I was nervous she wouldnt be able to deal with my ethnic hair but she nailed it and has a good personality. Thank you victoria.

I went to go pick up an item I bought online. I had forgotten my ID and was told she could not release the item to me without one. As I work in retail and understand these things, I didn’t make a fuss out of it but I did want to walk out with what I intended to pick up. I asked her if I could just buy the item in store which she allowed. All I asked was when I would receive a refund for the item I bought online which then she told me I wasn’t charged for yet. I looked on my bank account to see they charged me and showed her and she was really snippy and rude about it like I was trying to steal this night cream. Honestly I’ve been shopping here for some time but I prefer to not deal with rude associates. I didn’t make a hassle of anything, I just wanted to rebuy the item and figure out how to get a refund for the item I bought online. Not be scolded.

Amanda does a great job doing my hair and make up. I drive up from New Milford just to get my hair and make up done by her. Love her!

Went into ulta with my 1 year old. They have no carts in there and I was already carrying several bags plus her. So I left to go get a cart from another store in the shopping plaza. I was walking around shopping, and I do have to say - all of the employees that were there were super friendly and helpful! And I talked to about 4 of them. They were great! I felt so welcome. Then the manager came out to tell me I couldnt use my cart in there. Which I get, if thats company policy. But she was extremely rude about it and honestly made me think about just putting everything I had down and leaving. I ended up pretty much buying what I had there. I would have ended up shopping more if she hadnt been so cutthroat and cold. It would be helpful if Ulta was able to get their own carts as well (and friendlier managers). Although I will say the assistant manager was super friendly! It was the general manager that I didnt care for.

Not sure why theres so many negative comments, I love this store! Im greeted every time and I love chatting with the workers. There are times where Im asked multiple times if I need help but I never feel as if its because theyre trying to watch me.

They honestly deserve no stars I came in literally knowing exactly what I’m looking for and I swear you would have thought I was the only person in the store the way they were following me they didn’t even try & be subtle . It’s not even like I looked suspicious walking from fragrance to bath to accessories all the way to check out I was followed . I just ended up putting things back cause I could not deal the two girls one with orange hair and another white short chubby girl . I came in before on a different day and I literally had to chase a girl down just for some damn service . It’s like there’s no in between, you’re either getting followed around like you’re a 2 year old or you getting completely ignored. The sad thing is I use to work for Ulta I know the policy and procedures I get shrink and all that but they were just, lord . I rather pay for shipping and handling online .

I could never walk out of this store empty handed. I found everything I needed, plus a few other things. The sales associates are all, very friendly and the store manager is very pleasant to talk to as well.

This is a clean store. Well stocked and organized. All the employees are exceptionally amazing besides 2. They are attentive, knowledgable, and gifted in their craft. The salon is a well oiled machine and I had a nice service and I regularly visit the brow bar which makes this place a 5 star store.

The most well-lit store Ive ever been in. I had never been into an Ulta. I assumed it was, and is, female product intensive. But there is a good selection of male products and services. This place caters to all income brackets, if you want expensive, they have three, and also three cheaper alternatives. Product variety, salon services, and staff are all very good. A very nice addition to the starved Waterbury retail landscape.

I love ulta. They have high end brands, as well as drugstore makeup. Great deals and great prices. I love their point program because they never expire and when I finally remember to use my points I always end up with 30 dollars off or more!

Very quiet and clean atmosphere. I was never asked to be helped, but found what I wanted anyway.

After calling on Saturday to find out if my curbside pickup was ready because I never received an email I asked what the store hours were. On Sunday I drove an hour and 10 minutes to pickup my product. The store was closed at 3pm when I arrived. I called customer service and they said the store should be open, it was never reported that they were closing early or they weren’t opening at all. Needless to say I reordered the product online and now one of the items was out of stock plus there was an increase in price because the sale had ended. I then drove another 20 minutes north to the Plainville store to retrieve the items. This was a waste of my time and gas.

My granddaughter was looking for a lip gloss. She found the one she wanted and on clearance

I like the store layout and product variety. However, mostly all of the staff members are extremely inexperienced in the product line offering. If you have any questions about products Sephora is a better resource.

While I was at Ulta the other day, I came to use a offer where you buy two ulta items and get two free? But while I was at checkout the lady didn’t even process the offer and I asked her about it and all she said was “yeah”? So I left Ulta spending more money than I was originally going to spend! Some of these employees don’t know what they’re doing!!!

Absolutely LOVE this place and happy they’re so close and convenient now. Not only do i get my make up goodies there, the salon is a great touch to the establishment. I am an ethnic woman and i have very thick and curly hair so it’s hard for me to find the right salon and the right hairdresser that caters to my hairs needs. I was very skeptical at first but that first dye job and blow out was simply nothing shy of AMAZING. My biggest fear was washing my hair and noticing the damaging effects of the color and the heat but to my surprise all of my thick, bouncy and vibrant curls were all still intact thanks to my WONDERFUL hairdresser Amanda who treated my curls with care and thanks to the warm and welcoming staff who made my LONG and LENGTHY stay very pleasant. To this day that is the only place I trust with my hair and all it’s texture. Thank you ladies and lovely gents for all your help when shopping and all the hospitality while sitting in your chairs!!

I work in a Customer service field and would never treat my customer they way one of the Hairstylist treated me when I asked her a question about a shampoo.Then same lady was asked by a coworker for help on a price check for me and AGAIN was RUDE, AND COULDNT BE BOTHERED! Then I get to the register and ask the woman ringing me up if they have a coupon around I could use and very rudely she says oh I can do it this time but your going to need to get the app. Yeaaa Im DONE with Ulta Waterbury.. Its funny when I paid and she saw I was Diamond status on my C.C. her attitude changed!!!

The store itself is fine, a little dirty, but fine.But DO NOT and I mean DO NOT get your hair done here. These hairdressers are NOT experienced enough. Their hairdressers are fresh out of cosmetic school, with only 1 year of learning. They try new things with your hair without telling you, and the prices aren’t cheap enough for the mess they might make of your hair. This is my second bad experience with hair stylists from ulta. The first time, they didn’t correctly bleach my roots, the dye didn’t take, & they had to do it all over again, charging me for the extra bleaching and dye when they messed it up. The second time, I showed the woman where I wanted my bangs cut (right at the tail of my eyebrow) and she cut them a centemeter or two ABOVE my eyebrows, extremely uneven. Trying to pass it off as “wispy bangs”, which I never asked for.I’m very unsatisfied with the work of the hair stylists they employ, and I will no longer be going there.

Had an amazingly refreshing facial by Carmina at the new Ulta in Waterbury!! I was very impressed with how informative and knowledgeable she was! The products Dermalogica that she recommended have had an positive impact on my skin within only 3 days of using them. Looking forwardto more facials with her. I highly recommend her!!

In fact, I was so uncomfortable I probably wont ever come back again.At first I assumed there was no manager on duty, based on the way the employees were behaving. I was wrong. The manager was among the employees.Unprofessional and inappropriate.

One of the cleanest Ulta’s I have ever been to, the staff is super friendly and helpful. I personally love the salon services at Ulta! The girl who did my hair JAVIERA is amazing always meets/exceeds my expectations, this is my second time going and i will definitely be back for her. I was also interested in the Lancôme Foundation she recommended seeing the Lancôme specialist at the store DEBORAH and just wanted to point out she is amazing at matching women of color!

This ulta location has a lot of variety & different products to choose from. Conveniently located right off of the highway. Ive been here a couple of times and the staff has always been pleasant. The only thing that makes me uncomfortable is that there is always a security guard following me around which I think is very distasteful & awkward. They should not make paying customers feel like criminals.

They sell whats best for them and not for you as a customer.

Dont even bother walking into this ULTA location in WATERBURY . First off, the security guard (lol Waterbury) standing at the entrance was the only person who even gazed in my direction and gave a greeting . For most of my visit, nobody bothered to assist me and As I gathered a few products and browsed I really wanted to try on a blush before I purchased it, so I needed a brush to try it out. One girl asked finally are you finding everything did you need something ? I replied to her no Im not, I just needed a brush real quick to try on a blush and she replied well we have sponges over there and we dont have any brushes around then goes to hand me some sponges 😅....to try on a compressed blush product! To work at a beauty dpt store and hand me a sponge and walk away, that just proves the respect for their customers and the common sense smh Then another woman seen me pacing back and forth literally searching for a brush Anyone who shops here know they DO carry brushes for trying out products and goes to grab one for me .This a ridiculously embarrassing location to walk into and spend your money . I purchased my products, said farewell to the security guard and I will never walk back in there . Do yourself a favor and go to another location possibly the one in plainville,CT not too far maybe 15- 20 min away much more pleasant experience there . This place doesnt even deserve a 1 star.
