I was IMPRESSED with the new technology and how detailed my exam was. The young man (Im sorry I forgot his name), that was my examiner was professional, friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. The best part of this is I am picking my glasses up today.Woohoo π
My experience JUST happened.I called with several questions to ask because I live out-of-state, but Ill be visiting family for 2 weeks from out-of-state and wanted to know if they could fill my eye glass prescription there (this is the ONLY place I know that will do no-line bifocals and NOT progressive lenses or lined bifocals).I called, was placed on hold for 5 minutes, someone picked up, SAID NOTHING and put me on hold again for another 5 minutes. Then the phone rang, someone picked up then HUNG UP! REALLY?? This is how you treat your customers?? You just hang up on them after you put them on hold for 15 minutes?? You know where you can put your no-lined bifocals. Ill take my money somewhere else.
Their now exclusively automated phone answering is terrible. Impossible to get a hold of a real person. I think the goal is to steer you to their website. Ive been a customer for 30 years here. Ordering contacts online is equally a bad experience. Very dissapointing . I will consider taking my familys business elsewhere.. :(
Other than the friendliness of technician that handled my appointment, my experience has been less thatβs satisfactory. The tele-health visit ended up taking almost 2 hours, because they lost video connection 3 times. The person at the front desk was very dismissive and genuinely seemed confused to every question we asked. The visit all together was almost 3 hours, because the staff was more concerned with lunch breaks and hanging out, then making sure we had a good visit. It has now almost been three weeks and still no glasses. The tracker said the glasses were ready to be inspected and then suddenly went all the way back to pending. When I called the find out the status of the glasses they had no idea about the status/how long they till they were done. I called back a second time and they said they are still waiting to be inspected (no update again to how long till theyβd be done). I understand that things take time and handling upset customers can be hard..however the staff should at least have a good attitude when speaking to people.
I was to receive my glasses on March 23rd. My glasses have been sitting there for a week waiting for final inspection. While I understand theyre busy, but making a customer wait for their glasses an extra week because they dont have enough help is neglectful. Today is March 29th and Im still waiting. Today I will be placing a call to corporate to file a complaint.
This place is so ridiculous, you make an appointment and always sitting here waiting. Meanwhile lady in the back having a conversation with a old friend she hasnt seen in yrs. Last time coming here
They told me my insurance covered my contact lens fitting but then at the end of my appointment they said actually my insurance doesnβt cover that and I had to pay $50. I asked what eye drops I could use and they told me to just put contact lens solution in my eyes if they felt uncomfortable. Come to find out lens solution disinfects and kills microbes and is toxic to living cells- including those in your eye! It even says on the bottle do not add directly to eye. Also, when they called me 2 weeks later to let me know my glasses were ready I had to schedule an βappointmentβ 4 days out to pick them up. When I got there they just handed them to me in the doorway. It took 30 seconds so I donβt understand why I had to wait so long to get them. Everyone was nice here but the hidden fees and the misinformation is enough to make me not go back
Jacob from the Watertown Visionworks you are straight up the man. I have never met a sale person so caring and good about their care when it comes to helping their customers Jacob really took the time to help me find a good frame that matched my face, gave me a steal when it came to helping to afford a stellar pair of glasses and contacts. He also told me about the discounts that were offered I came in thinking that I was going to have a tough time figuring out frames and what to get and Jacob was so helpful. There should be more employees like him.Jacob if your reading this thanks man!
First visit, everyone was amazing. Jacob was awesome in getting my daughter all set up for her contacts. James did a great job getting her glasses picked out and ordered. Everyone was friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you for a fabulous experience.
Dr. Hershowitz is always the kindest person. Unfortunately, he does not always have control over what happens at the front desk nor the other areas of the center. He is great at what he does. I totally trust him with my eyes. Vision works recently acquired a NEW front desk gentleman named ERIC. I stopped in on Columbus Day to schedule an appointment. He was the most sincere and professional receptionist this place has ever had. He was kind, respectful, made eye contact and very caring. He stated what he would do for me and he followed up with his phone call the following day just as he promised. Give the place a chance as not all employees are created equal. Some have bed side manners and some do not. Work ethics these days are hard to find but Eric was a trooper. THANK YOU ERIC!
My family and i went to this office for the first time on March 13th 2020. The biggest positive asset for this office was the employees. Alexis at the front was very nice and Jacob was exceptional. Not only he was very friendly and patient with me who had problem with the insurance, he went out of his way to help as much as possible with his sweetest smile. We thoroughly appreciate him. He is probably the biggest reason for my family and me to keep going to this office.
Our experience at Visionworks in Watertown, NY has been nothing short of amazing. Professional, efficient and helpful in every aspect.
I got my first pair of glasses here when I was 8, so when my daughter needed her first pair in November 2019 I was thrilled this place was still open, and there were still familiar faces! The dr we saw was very kind and compassionate and put my daughter at ease. She was so excited to find a pair she LOVES and is proud of.
The doctor is wonderful. He was very patient with our kids, did a great job with all of our exams. The front staff has never been rude - always helpful, and we have bought several pairs of glasses here over the last few years.
I only go there because they except my insurance and I like the selection of glasses they have. I feel that they are super impatient, especially with children. The front desk and opticians were great but the girl that did our screening was snotty and irritable with my son during the glaucoma test. The doctor has only shown patience with my children once and weβve been there for eye appointments three times! Iβm going to go to Meade Optical next year because I heard they have much better customer service.
Jacob took great care of me from the moment I arrived. Professional staff, excellent Doctor and Fitting specialists.
They were fast, friendly and helpful. It was less than an hour from in the door to out which is amazing! Great selection of frames and affordable.
Excellent product and service. I lost my glasses and not only did they provide me a replacement set in an timely manner. They found cost saving that i did not know existed. Thanks Vision Works
My first time here was great! Dr. Hershowitz helped me find out whether contacts or glasses were best for me which my precious doctor never helped me with. & Paula helped me find the perfect glasses with other staff helping me with fitting when she was away. She looked in the back to see if my prescription lens were carried and helped me have them ready an hour later! Will be returning :)
Jacob is very helpful & knowledgeable of information you need to know. Great customer service.
First time going to vision works! Had a great experience the staff was so helpful from check in to picking out glasses! My daughter has been wearing glasses since she was 11 months old and they were so helpful in fitting her for the perfect glasses as well!
My son got a much needed pair of glasses. He has EXTREME sensitivity to natural and artificial light just like I do. Being fair skined, pale eye coloring and the fact Ive got cataracts its obvious adding tint would protect our eyes and cut down on squinting and frequent headaches. We went separately so I was given this option and he was not. In fact neither of us got the same options or choices even after filling out the questioner given to new customers before seeing the optometrist. Both of us exchanged our glasses and on my fourth return visit we found out we could get a gradation of tint dark fading into light would be perfect especially with my bifocals. Finally we asked for all options and choices for frames and tinted prescription lenses available to us through our insurance coverage.Unfortunately for all involved the person helping us who I shall not name lost her cool, stating that the full list of choices arent normally offered or discussed because most people dont need or want it. I wonder, if people dont know it stands to reason that most assume if its not offered its not covered by their insurance. She stated, that she was now very stressed out. And by the way sunglasses are not covered (I didnt ask for sunglasses) its most perplexing. I imagine it should be me or my son after all this time losing our cool but that just wasnt the case.Im still waiting for my glasses, they have kept the last two attempts one had no successful tinting results, the other have a light tint and the bifocals portion was not lowered as requested to give an unobstructed long-distance view and l have no glasses at all. The first time I was allowed to hang onto a pair while they reordered a complete pair direct from the supplier. My suggestion to all is, MOST of us want clear and complete information when we get to choose our eyeglasses, ( tell us about all the extras, bells and whistles are fun) were going to wear them everyday its and extention (accessory) of who we are, so its pretty important to us. Be patient, dont lose your cool, its truly a happy fun experience so please dont spoil it for your customers.
Had an amazing experience. Everyone was very polite, knowledgeable and helpful.
Very helpful staff, make all steps of the process very easy and pleasant. they the time to make sure everything is perfect fitment and finish before they let you leave
Stopped in to get glasses fixed after my daughter broke the bow again, and they were so kind and fast to get us taken care of. Jacob should be commended!!!!
Had to do a return today and Jacob took care of it no problem. Thank you
My experience at vision work on Arsenal street in Watertown Ny was very poor went in to get my glasses repaired . i was greeted in a very poorly. It was as if I was interrupting the three at the desk That won as the good part of the experience . It when down hill from there. My glasses had tape on them the women look at them and refused to remove the tape . Glasses were less than 30 days out of warranty she stated without even looking at them YOU NEED NEW FRAMES . Went to competitor fix glass for $2.00 bad hinge pin.New frames for $100 plus or $2.00 repair rating negative 3
Great value for a single mom of three and we all wear glasses!! Having insurance helps. I love the late evening appointments, they really accommodate my schedule.
The service was inexcusable! I ended walking out before my exam was over. The doctor there that gave me my eye exam was telling me what the letters were because I could not see them, he seemed very irritated. I have an issue with my right eye that keeps swelling to the point it closes shut and he wouldnβt even take the time to look at that eye. I asked him twice if he could look at my eye to at least see if there was something in it or if I had scratched it. His response was βNo! But itβs not normal and you need to take care of it immediately!β Well isnβt that where I go to have my eye looked at?? I will never come back to this location and highly recommend you find a different eye center.
The most pleasant and professional staff I have ever dealt with at an eye doctors office. Would recommend this place to anyone!
Quick service and very friendly but dont really listen to your opinions
Eye contact is important. When someone walks in at least look up and acknowledge them. May I help you? with a backhanded usher back to someone else without looking up is beyind rude. Also the Snarky remarks amongst staff about previous customer is unnecessary and disrespectful. Flippant and rude. Poor listening skills and condescendant responses. If your customer is irritating you. Then you should be an online non interactive business. Only redemption was a shprt prevoous interaction with optimists. Permanently list my business.
Helpful. Caring. Compassionate.
Cheap glasses. 5 months later they already have to be replaced. the plastic has worn off the ear pieces and the metal frame is poking out.dont go here. it was an expensive mistake.
We went here because its one of the few places that takes our insurance. Id rather drive to Syracuse than go here. The doctor was very uninterested in helping and the glasses people offered zero suggestions and were very unhelpful. Every prescription my wife and I got here was wrong.
Staff was very helpful
