Dont go here if you want simple work to take over 2 weeks, without updates. My request was simple enough; replace an old battery on a laptop. This is my experience.I had a wonderful initial interaction with a staffer, but barely any interaction after I started my order. I checked in a week later, to find out that they had not touched my laptop. Few days later, and after my attempts to check in and get a status, they informed me that they were ordering a new part, and that they had attempted to install a used part that turned out to be incompatible. While I appreciate this attempt to cut costs, I really wish I had been asked if I would like a used or new battery. Finally, after over 2 weeks (a few days during this time i had retrieved my laptop for essential purposes) I called ahead saying that I was coming to pick it up, and was informed that it was ready. Arriving at the store, I see a technician working on it.Yeah, dont go here if you want to stress out about the status of your electronics, and not receive any calls on the status of your order.

People here are excellent they go out of their way to accommodate you they even brought me a stool to sit down on as I looked through a bin to find some parts I wanted to put together. Theyre extremely knowledgeable but they dont make you feel dumb if youre not. They have a lot of things you wouldnt find in the big box stores.Youre greeted immediately, if you go in calling things by the wrong name theyll help you find it. I cant say enough good things about the people and they are very handicapped friendly.

They fixed a switch to a 5000.00 sewing machine that others said they could not. Currently waiting to pick up my encoders that were chewed by the cat. Today I will take yet another power switch to be repaired. Love this place and the people. Shame on every person who left a bad review that included personal insults. Thank you Santo, Clay and Richard made a good choice.

Great place to shop for electronic parts and prices are VERY economical. If you like DIY repairs on your electronics come here for your parts. The folks behind the counter are very helpful. If you dont see it on the shelfs just ask and they will tell you if they have it. Some stuff they keep behind the counter.

Their phone doesn’t even work, there doesn’t seem to be a way of communicating with the ship without going there.

Electronic parts and superior knowledge. I came here today because I lost the cord to my Artograph Light Pad and needed it to power up...TODAY. Went to a big box store and when I finally got help, they didn’t have what I needed. Luckily, the employee told me about EPO.Hector greeted me right away and was very knowledgeable and cautious to not sell me the wrong power cord because it could burn up my $200 light pad. After some research, we got the right cord and I walked out in less than 15 minutes. Very happy I found this place. If you need electronic parts that are hard to find, come here and support a small local shop that has too notch customer service.

Santos and staff have always been very helpful. Living on a very tight budget, they always find a solution to my repairs/projects. The new location is awesome, with more space and better layout. LOVE THEMI was at my wits end just recently trying to find some components for a personal UV Light cleanser for my home. All the places I went to that you’d think would be able to help in something like this, I’m looking at you Fry’s and Friendly Computers, were deadends and I was out of hope. Though after seeing EPOs roadsigns and deciding to stop, I’ve found my new go-to. Santos and Ashley both went above and beyond to help get what I need and more. Owner has a versatile and expansive breadth of practical knowledge in his craft, offers great deals for good products and is willing to take the initiative to fix your problems and not just take your money and run like other stores. A true oldschool tech shop.

Great friendly staff. None of my USB ports were working and therefore my wireless mouse was dead. Staff looked at the laptop and made a few suggestions to fix it. I spent most of my Friday troubleshooting but finally got it working. Had to go into device manager and enable the device while it was plugged in. They did not charge anything for their time or experience. Great people, will definitely be back if needed.

Santos and the entire EPO staff have met & surpassed ALL of my technology needs (hardware, software, business, personal, work, & pleasure) for lots of years now. On those very rare occasions when something that I need isnt already in stock, they have ordered it promptly and usually have it in plenty of time to meet my reasonable requirements. Needless to say, I recommend EPO 110% for all these reasons!

RACIST FEMALE EMPLOYEEI came in with my son and she followed us around the whole store watching our every move.She never asked if we needed help, just would spy on us as we looked for parts for a home project.When we asked who she was she puffed up and asked why we were there rudely and was very short and frustrated.I had to rush my son out of the store before i yelled at her.This store needs SERIOUS help to fix their staff!

One star for now as Im sitting at the store at opening time and theyre still closed. 9am opening time. Its now 9:21am. Revise... 10am and still not open. Smh. Poor business practice. Revise #2 10:40am...still closed. Sign on door says open at 9am. Almost two hours past advertised open hours. No answer on phone either. How can you even set an appointment if you cant get through? Voicemail is full. They must not need the business. Come on EPO... Geez!. Im sure they lose a lot of business due to this. Revise #3 Got in to getr done and they gotr done while I waited. Quick and easy it seemed. Even chopped it up with the owner and another young fella while I played with the dog there. Thanks a bunch.

This place was awesome before they moved. Now, their inventory and selection(and space) is not even a quarter of what it used to be. So very sad. I used to love this place but I just cant ever find what i need and their prices went up. After being a customer for many years, I think Im going to have to bite the bullet and start ordering everything online.I will say the staff are knowledgeable and friendly as they always have been. Such a shame. :-(

I came here looking for a run capacitor for my AC compressor - they didnt have the part but nicely offered to build a short term fix, and they directed me to another supply store that had exactly what I needed. Lots of cool hobby stuff here you cant find anywhere else.

I called they said bring it buy and it will either be $35 or $40 to diagnose. Thats the best price around town. So i took it in and the super beautiful girl looked at it fixed it with in minutes and said no charge. I had to tip her anyways. This is the best place and the only place i will trust with my Computer.

Absolutely the best place! Santos, the owner, is an electrical engineer - he received his degree from U of H. The staff is very friendly helpful and knowledgeable. It is nice to have someone work on your computer/mac that really enjoys it and it is not a job until something else comes along (i.e. Office Depot, Staples and lets not forget Best Buy). I took my MacBook Pro to get updated. Yes ..... they work on Macs, where most places will not. I even ordered a battery for my Mac when I have been told by Apple they no longer sold them.

This place may be the place for parts but DO NOT take your computer there for repair!!!!! They are scamming people out of money! They do not know what they are talking about and charge for free software they dont even fully install! When we went back in to get a refund for a family member they scammed the tech was looking at pictures on another customers computer! These people are not certified technicians nor are they computer literate. Coming from a computer electronics background these people could probably have some serious issues on their hands if people knew what they were doing. Tell you you have a virus without anything to back it up. Charge you to fix it the same issues are still on the computer and charge for software. Last I checked google chrome isnt software you have to pay for. Take yourself to reputable companies with experience. Like Best Buy or Office Depot to name a few. You may pay acouple more dollars but they know what theyre doing. Unlike these crooks

New owners seems very attentive. Didnt get everything I needed . One very basic that I was surprised they didnt have. Otherwise a very good experience.

I went to Google searching for a place where I could take my tv, pc and ps4 I came across EPO Computers Electronics so I gave it a try they said they can only look at my ps4 and computer because they had to many tvs as I took my things driving 2hrs away I came and brought my things in. I left my things there, until I got contacted I was told that the ps4 is fixed as they couldnt fix my computer because of an issue. I paid went home set up what they said was fixed INSTEAD THEY NEVER FIXED IT. I gave this place a chance just to repair my stuff instead I got scammed I will be coming back to get my money and will NEVER Recommend Anyone Here PUBLISHED ON September 28 2019

Great store for your electronic component needs as well as computer and laptop service and repairs

Ive never taken my computer to them to fix, mainly because I can do it myself. If the last guy knew how to do it all, then why didnt he just do it himself? This store is strictly for DIYers that already have knowledge of electronics and computers, and not whiners. If you know what youre looking for you will find it and 10X more. They do have a great selection of kits and experiments for kids to learn. And where else can you get a giant red led traffic light? And a gel cell battery, surplus tire inflator, giant transformer, a surplus hard drive, wire, etc.

Good for those small electronic parts and some Arduino kits. Was awesome before they moved, but still okay.

These guys are awesome and geniuses. Recovered my data and cloned HDD in one day.

Love this place. Really. Where else can you find cases of old micro-cassette recorder mechanisms, ready for your project? Everything the electronic tinkerer needs for any kind of electrical project. Resistors, capacitors, transformers, speakers, electronic kits, solar cells, rechargable batteries, etc. etc. etc.

Reminder of what Epo once was. Epo used to be pure Nirvana of interesting surplus and a huge selection of decently priced parts. The new location is 1/10 the selection.There are quite a few shops sprinkled around Houston with better selections now.My advice: worry less about computer repair and focus 40% parts and 60% surplus. The interesting surplus is what made Epo unique. You can get parts in 1 day with Amazon now. Good prices on surplus is hard to find... Offline or online.

Take car key fob to dealership because of dead battery, $25 and a day of my life.Buy new batteries at EPO and do it myself, $2.05 and 20 minutes.Hmmmmmm...

It is like Radio Shack, but with more parts, reasonable prices, and VERY knowledgeable employees.

So far the only experience I had with them was that I was searching for a relay and whether they had it was a.mute point because I could never get them to answer the phone

My brother and I dropped off a board to be looked at back in mid December. After going back every 2 to 3 weeks and given the run around we picked up the board and left. Its now the end of February.They never did anything with it.
