There are not enough good things to say! I had never tried Pho and this was my first place to go because it was highly recommended. Oh. My. Goodness. Amazing! I love the broth they use for their Pho! And the sizes?! Wow! So good! I also tried their spring rolls and that is a must for me every time. The flavor is really amazing in everything I get. I also like to spoil myself with their bubble tea. Try the Taro Tea. You will not be disappointed!
We’ve been here several times and absolutely loved it, way more than the better known place in town that was endlessly suggested to us. Over the course of the past two months the service here has gone completely downhill through Grubhub. They’ve cancelled our order twice with zero explanation even though they are listed open on Grubhub. If it’s a missing menu item, THEN TAKE IT OFF THE MENU FOR THE DAY! They’ve sent us a single leaf of Basil before with a handwritten note that says “sorry we’re out of Basil” How ironic, considering your name is Pho BASIL! They’ve sent us no Basil in the past and just sent us a handful of cilantro. I’ve called them and gotten a full voicemail box message on a few occasions. I’ve given them the benefit of the doubt too many times for the sake of decent Pho. I’ll never order from here again.
I ordered pho Ga with extra vegetables. Nice variety of vegetables and the chicken was carved. Much better than other places in town. Broth was good, but could be more flavorful. I will definitely go back.
Dine in delicious food! Online delivery also available. Packaged careful. Cheerful people.
This place was great at first not sure if the cook changed or what but noodles are hard meat is not tender but chewy. Not quality phö. This is the 7th time that I have ordered for take out and the last 3 times its been like this. Very disappointed :/ the peanut sauce that comes with the summer rolls is also different. bring the good back!
I always turn to Pho Basil when I or a friend needs a bowl of pho. Thank you for the consistent delicious and timely meals!
We had driven by this new Vietnamese spot a few times and I was eager to try it out. We ordered a Vietnamese coffee and coconut bubble tea... both were refreshing on this hot day. We also ordered a few appetizers... fresh spring rolls, which were tasty and their basil salad (beef) off the chefs special menu. While I dont remember eating basil, the grilled beef was perfectly cooked and it was over a bed of iceberg lettuce, shredded carrots and cucumber. It was a great choice for a hot day. (We were so hungry that we started eating the appetizers before I remembered to snap some pics!)For our main course we both ordered Bahn Mi. It has been ages since I had a gloriously flavorful Bahn Mi. I fell in love with this interesting melding of French and Vietnamese cuisine a few years ago and we had yet to find any Bahn Mi in any other local Vietnamese joint in Frederick. We ordered the Vietnamese ham and the lemongrass pork and decided to do splitzies so we could each try both. They didnt end up having the Vietnamese ham so the waitress asked if the Vietnamese bologna was ok. It wasnt like American bologna...it was like a sliced cold cut that was pork. The flavor was great and the pricing were excellent but in my opinion it was lacking filling. The meat on my grilled lemongrass pork tasted delicious but there just wasnt enough in there and I felt like I was mostly eating bread. I felt the same about Vietnamese pork Bahn Mi as well. We were full and happy but just would have liked more pickled veggies on our sandwich as well as a bit more meat. Otherwise they tasted excellent and we happily stuffed them down. The bathrooms were clean. The waitress was friendly and checked on us; she did a nice job. There was beer and wine listed on the menu but we inquired and the waitress said they didn’t have it yet. Overall the meal was good and this was a nice lunch on a hot day. I would come back and try again and hopefully get a heartier Bahn Mi and perhaps try their Phô if the day wasn’t so hot out.
Boba tea, amazing huge pho portions, and great spring rolls
This is the first time I have not finished a bowl of pho in my life. The meat was cut too thick and therefore was raw in the middle, the bean sprouts were at least a day or two past prime and smelled poorly so I didnt eat them. The broth was exceptionally bland, maybe this is what Americanized pho would be, similar to what happens when you go to an Indian restaurant that barely uses spices, an overall underwhelming and disappointing flavour. The garden roll was rolled in a way that was reminiscent of how I would do it at home... Rather poorly; the shrimp in the garden roll had a slight smell as if it had been sitting out of the fridge for a bit longer than one would hope.Overall the restaurant presents well and the service was good, and it seemed clean. This was by far the most disappointed Ive ever been by a pho restaurant.
I just ordered through door dash a bowl of Pho and a Bahn Mi or Pork Bologna Sub. The sub bread was ROCK HARD! It was so stale. How can you feed this to people! Horrible. And there was nothing on the sandwich. I will not be ordering from here again.
Awful, sandwich had nothing on it except some bologna. Stay away from this place.
Service isnt great. The owner ignored us for several minutes even though no one else was there. However the food is pretty good and reasonably priced. Order takeout if you want to eat from here
If I could give this place zero stars I would!! I got there and waited for 5 minutes even though no one was there. The owner came out I told him I wanted to place an order and very rudely he said you can only order online can’t you see I’m busy. Super RUDE! I’ve never eaten here. It would have been my first time. I will never step foot in this place again!!!!!
Do not order from here, I’ve ordered here a few times, never did I expect to find a bug in my food. Don’t waste your money here. The guy has always been rude and disrespectful, but had good food. There a pandemic going on and you can’t keep your place clean?? You NEED to be SHUT DOWN.
I found a live snail on the dish you can put stuff in your pho. Gross as hell. If u go here, eat at your own risk.
Amount of negative reviews for this place is really weird, every time weve been there the food is delicious and everyones very nice.
The guy was Rude and they dont have spoons for Pho. Other places give you stick and spoons. No napkins. Had to go back for chopsticks. The coconut juice is $4.95. Noodles were under cooked beef was not tender. $21.78 for pho soup and 2 cans of coconut juice.
Very rude manager I don’t recommend this place to anybody. There’s way better Vietnamese restaurants in the area.
Dead bug in the food. Board of health needs to intervene. Absolutely filthy and unsanitary
Excellent pho! The broth was delicious and the noodles were plentiful.Staff were very attentive and helpful. Definitely would drop by again!
My husband ordered here for take out. This place is dirty, and has horrible customer service. We ordered 4 pho totaling close to $50 and when we got home, one of them has a cooked fly in it. Turned everyones appetite off. The soup was sour, not regular sour, but like it was spoiled. We tried to call back, same number we called to order the takeout, and the person who answered said it was wrong number and that they were close only after we told them about the fly. DO NOT BUY/ORDER HERE they dont deserve any of your business and will get you sick! This place needs to be investigated for sanitary.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!!! I have never experienced such poor customer service!!! I placed my order over the phone and verified that they had everything correct before I hung up. Picked up my order and arrived home, only to realize that they messed up my order. I called for them to fix it, I was even willing to go back up there for them to give me the meat that I was missing in my pho. The gentlemen proceeded to tell me not to come back up there and that next time, I need to order something else even after I verified my order on the phone being that they seem to have difficulty understanding and speaking English. The guy told me not to come back to have my order fixed due to a mess up on their end. I will NEVER order from this place again. Their customer service is piss poor!!!
Was looking for bubble tea, and found this place. Food was ready quickly, and its probably the best chicken Ive had in a while! Tea is rich, with traditional boba (yum!)
I really like the foods served. Delivious. Staff are nice. I loved the unique pepper the owner gave me. Thank you very much. He remembers me when I admired his plants inside his restaurant. More power to this restaurant.
I love this place... the manager is very friendly and help me fine the right condiment for my chicken Pho... It was fabulous. NICE LAID BACK ATMOSPHERE
Rude new owners, they don’t understand English. Use to eat there 2 or 3 times a month, I wouldn’t eat there now if it was free. VERY RUDE ALSO!
The old guy has anger problems! He shouldnt be working out front, bad attitude and very rude we are definitely not coming back.
One of the best PHO around. I come here so much i think they are starting to know my face. Highly recommend.
They make tripe and cartilage good. Do you know how hard that is to make those things taste good? ...and they do
The vegetable pho tasted like it was originally a microwave meal and then was soaked in veggie broth. It was very over priced, about $17.
The soup was good but not hot enough. The server forgot my bubble tea and then when she remembered she brought it without the tapioca balls and was hesitant to make more. I told her I didnt want the drink without the tapioca balls so she changed her mind .The balls were still warm and the drink was way too sweet. It was close to closing time but if they werent willing to make it she should have said they were out. Probably wont go back.
Maybe the location isnt the best, but you really should try this place. The menu is small but thats part of the charm. Im no expert in Pho, but its delicious. The crispy rolls are just that, and the grilled chicken with rice plate is perfect for those less adventurous. Most dishes are served with a small bowl of an amazing sauce, a sweetened fish sauce according to the menu. I never would have guessed, but its a perfect complement to the dishes. The place is bigger inside than it looks from outside. They also take orders for pick up or delivery.
Decent pho but I think the broth could have a bit more flavor. I do appreciate the fact that they make separate broth for both chicken and beef. The meat to noodle ratio is on point and the overall portions are good as well. Would def recommend giving it a shot but the broth was not my favorite.
Delicious food. Great Customer Service. My family loves this place.
Delicious
I ordered delivery through Grubhub and it arrived quickly and piping hot. I ordered the chicken pho and it was delicious, exactly what I needed on a cold day! The chicken was so tender, and the portion was pretty generous, and came with plenty of toppings. The broth was really good too, it had a nice subtle flavor. I will definitely be ordering from here again, I can’t wait to try some of their other pho!
Ive been trying to go to this place since it opened and I finally got the chance. I was not disappointed went with my parents and brother and we enjoyed the meal and the attentive nature of the staff. Very friendly and inviting and delicious. I will be back for the dessert. :)
Stopped in for lunch, our server was charming and attentive. The food was solid and straight forward.Glad to see another great addition to Fredericks outstanding food scene.
The chicken or steak & brisket pho is delicious! The broth is packed with flavor, very savory and the meat is perfectly tender. The service is wonderful as well. Our server Hung was so attentive with a fun personality! Also love the guava hard candies you get before leaving!!!!
My shaken beef was atrocious, the beef chunks were low quality beef (over cooked didnt help) and reminded me of top sirloin/pot roast chunks.Wifes bowl of pho was great, although they initially didnt even bring out the sprouts, peppers, or basil until we asked...Place seems to do good pick up as at least five or six people came during our short stint there. Not one Asian customer though, it is Frederick.... Lol
Eating in and carry-out were both great. The folks at Pho Basil are very accommodating, if not catering, to vegetarian palates as well as the traditional. The service and employees are very nice as well.
The owner doesnt even come to serve you... another joke
This place serves the best Pho I have ever tried before
The broth taste exactly like heaven I would come for everyday of my life. And I would love to live there!
This is my husbands and I new go to spot for pho! Great food, great prices and super friendly staff. You wont be disappointed. We go almost every week 😊
Our favorite place closed up and we stumbled across this place. The Pho is excellent and the spring rolls were great. We will definitely be back... this is going to be our new goto for Pho.I do get the impression they are trying to figure things out still in regards to service but the folks are friendly and the food is tastey.
We ordered the eye round pho, the meatballs in broth and the combination fried rice. All 3 were absolutely delicious! The staff is very friendly with great service. Ive been looking for MSG FREE Pho in the Frederick area and this was the only one I could find. Thank you for being MSG FREE !! : ))))))
Best pho in Frederick. Kind and attentive staff. Were very glad to have this new addition to the neighborhood.
Hidden gem. great food, great prices. friendly staff. can’t ask for much more. 5 stars
Nice Vietnamese restaurant. Good pho and casual setting, quick service too. I come regularly for lunch but have only tried the pho, other menu items look good too.
Greate service and Lunch was so yummy
I think the name of this spot is cute! Also love the Location! I do have to say the bowl was small and I wish there was more broth, but there was a decent bit of veggies and they fry their tofu(yummy). The tofu was also very large. Which is why I wanted a bigger bowl and more broth with all that goodness. In comparison to other pho restaurants in Frederick I personally think it could be better. Its on the modern side, I was the only one dinning in on the particular day I went. I would get take out next time. They are close to downtown Frederick and they offer dilvery for orders of at least $20. When I decided to dine in they were kind enough to change the Vietnamese news to an English channel.
For me its the #1 beef pho and have em make it spicy
Good food. Friendly service.
Great tasting food. We had the Stuffed grape leaves as an appetizer and they were tasty. The main reason we came to the restaurant was because of the Pho. My wife had the oxtail pho and I have the Pho with steak and brisket. The Pho came out in the broth was nice and hot, just the way I like it. Both my wife and I thought that the broth had an amazing flavor. We would put them right up there with Viets Aroma. My wife had the taro bubble tea and she loved it.The only issue I have is a parking, theres not many spots in the lot. If you dont get into the parking lot, you have to park on the street.
This place is an amazing hidden gem!! The pho is so rich and delicious, youll definitely be coming back. The staff is so friendly and they make all of their tea drinks by hand! We found this place by accident, and will definitely ve coming back on purpose!!
Inexpensive and tasty. Friendly folks great value.
Not a good experience. There were flies on the table. My bean sprouts were turning and I always find it odd when Vietnamese places keep the hoisin on the table since it needs to be refrigerated. The pho was decent though
Somebody else took my order 🤦🏻♂️ and the cashier was being rude
This is a very bad place, I ordered takeaway here and they didnt give me enough items or any tableware, this is a very bad place
This is the best place for Pho I would visit everyday.
Best pho I have had in a long time that my wife didnt make. Broth and meat are excellent
Best Pho in town! I have to have it at least once a week😊😊 Friendly owner and atmosphere!! Great place!
Love this clean, friendly restaurant serving simple, tasty Pho, Vietnamese grills, vermicelli. The proprietors are super nice and the service is efficient
Very good pho and a friendly atmosphere. We came with 4 small kids and had a great dinner.
I had the banh mi; they were great about letting me substitute tofu for meat. Reasonable prices and friendly service
Sorry to say that the quality of the soup and meats has gone down, ever since they opened about 1 yr ago. its gonna be hard to go back....employees have more time to smoke out front, then rush in to make your food without washing their hands, after smoking..I think Im done coming here, such a shame.
Great food and service!! I go her regularly with my husband and kids. The soup is perfect and clear like it should be. There is plenty of meat in the pho. Banh Mi is very good. Bread was warm and tasted fresh. You must go if you havent.
Wow!!! My fiancé and i moved up to Brunswick a few months ago and have tried one or two places in Leesburg for our phô fix...this restaurant is maybe the best phô ive had!! Delicious, thick, tasty broth with very little grease, incredible appetizers, friendly and warm staff. Theyve gotten some new loyal customers, and we will definitely be making the trip out to Frederick again to eat here!
The place is small and doesnt have much parking. So at busy times a imagine it maybe a different experience but we were the only people seated there. Alot of people did come in and out getting take out through. We got the summer rolls and the pho. The summer rolls had both pork and shrimp and a nice amount of meat in them. The pho broth was great it had a complex flavor to it. You can pick up on all the different spices and was great without the hoisin and sriracha added. Without a doubt best place I have tried in fredrick so far for vietnamese food.
Just tried the #1 Pho with a few extras and it was delicious. I will be back to try more.
Good Pho. Smells a bit
Really good pho for a very good price.
Got to give this place 5 stars for the best pho I’ve ever had, also nice and friendly staffs.
I hope this great DTF pho (pronounced fa according to my Vietnamese friends) restaurant lasts. Generous portions and plenty vegetarian dishes to chose from. I thought the pho rivaled any I have had from reputable establishments in Montgomery County, where there is a larger Vietnamese population. I ordered the Pho Ga, large and it was a big bang for the buck and very tasty!
Good service and good food.
Excellent Vietnamese restaurant with friendly service tucked away in a easy to overlook shopping corner.
That is what the doctor recommend to relax
The staff was extremely nice and accommodating, and the food came quick as expected. With that said, worst pho ive ever had. The tendon was the worst ive ever had and almost inedible. It needed to be cooked for quite a while longer. The tripe was awful, and the brisket just tasted like boiled beef. Nothing special about the broth other than that it was very cloudy and not in the typical style. No cilantro in the soup. No onions. Very small amount of noodles for a large size. They dont have culantro even though its in their pics. And they use a different, cheaper brand of hoisin sauce (Koon Lun) that tastes like black bean sauce, so be prepared or itll ruin your soup if youre used to Lee Kum Kee hoisin. Lastly, it was the smallest bowl of pho ever as well. You pay $9 for a $5 bowl of pho down the road. Ive eaten pho all over the country, and in town here, i recommend Viets Aroma on Prospect. This is the only time in 20 years that ive walked away and left a half full bowl of pho as i left.
Closest authentic Vietnamese you can find in Frederick. They also have the banh mi sandwiches. One of the servers doesnt speak English very well.
Ox Tail Pho is very good. My favorite.
They are terrible. they use doordash and except no responsibility. it was my first time ordering and will never order again. i am out $33 and have no food!
Very nice fast delivery no problem accommodating special requests food was bomb👍
Very good food and service!
The pho was very flavorable best Ive had in Frederick.
Yum! The server was super nice as well.
Always delicious Pho. My favorite place in Frederick
Tried for the first time today, the pho broth was oily, and it did not come with cilantro or hoisin/chili sauce. Very disappointed
First and last time well go to Pho Basil. I found bugs in my soup!! Disgusted!!
Great flavors; usual &special dishes
Best pho available...
Wonderful! If you want Pho in Frederick, this is the place to go!
Best pho in Frederick by far.
