We actually drove here from Chattanooga, TN a couple months ago. We were on vacation in Chattanooga and decided to branch out and go to Alabama and see the Pokemon shops in the area.We went here, and had a bit of trouble finding it. When we did, we realize it was a bit small. When we went in no one said anything to us, which was not a big deal.We noticed right away they have a lot of comic books, which if you are into that then that a plus.As for Pokemon they hardly had anything. Definitely not worth driving hours for at all. Not even 5 minutes in our opinion. When we were looking someone finally asked if we needed help after waiting to get their attention for awhile. We asking about a couple cards prices, and we were told they had to google the prices that they had no idea. We ended up leaving after realizing the first card was priced at the highest selling price of all time.We definitely wont be back, and dont recommend it for Pokemon.If you are into comic books though, definitely check it out!

The store itself is fine. Nothing great, but a good selection of everything. We have purchased several board games and lots of card sleeves in the past. My husband got into Magic recently and we had a list of card he wanted to upgrade his two decks. Roughly 70 cards in total. There were 5 or 6 employees behind the counters, three were behind the card counter. One asked if we needed help and we told him we were looking for a few cards and clear sleeves for some token cards. They didnt have the sleeves and sounded annoyed about having to look for the cards. I asked about the one that was highest on our list and he looked, he said it wasnt in the box, but may be in the binders, but the other employee was working on those so we couldnt look right now. We said fine and checked out with the one pack of sleeves I picked out and a deck box. Instead of going back we decided to just order all of the singles online for roughly $400 since we didnt want to bother them or drive across town again. I would like to add there were more employees in the store than customers so we shouldnt have been too much of an inconvenience.

Today was the first time Ive ever been to The Deep, and Ive gotta say I was so impressed. I used to play D&D years ago and was so excited to see an abundance of tabletop gaming products, not to mention comics and board games too. Ill definitely be back to shop. I would totally love to work there. It seems so fun and the staff were super nice and went out of their way to be friendly. It seems like a great little community.

Pretty neat place they have a lot of D&D items,old comic books,models.Its a big building be prepared to stay a little bit to see everything.

I love this comic book & gaming shop. The employees are very knowledgeable of the items they carry & extremely friendly. They have a wide variety of items to choose from & if they happen to not have what you are looking for, they are more than happy to order it for you. They definitely go above & beyond for their customers. I have a great comic collection thanks to them & I know I will be able to grow my collection with their help. I highly recommend this fantastic shop!

Staff was great, they have all new Yu-Gi-Oh products and singles boxes of commons, so theyll have any card you need to complete your decks. Also weekly Yu-Gi-Oh tournaments. Thanks for keeping it alive Deep Comics!

Great store if you are looking for comics in the city. They have quite a variety of comics ranging over the decades. Their trading card section is relatively nice though nowhere near the scale of the other products in the store. They also carry some minatures and variety of dnd/family board games. Some of the staff are hit or miss. Many I have met are very upbeat and will carry a conversation when not busy. Though some are not the greatest rays of positivity I have come across. All in all it is a fun store to visit though if comics or a board game are your goals.

Immersive experience but you need to know what youre doing before you get there, know your games, know the comics you want. There is a LOT to choose from. Also, gaming upstairs with mostly board gaming like Pokemon, Magick, and some Id never seen before

This store has all sorts of Games and Comics. If they don’t have what you are looking for, I believe they can get it. My wife goes looking for new board games to play and finds all sorts of stuff each time. This past time the employees went out of their way a couple times to help her find a game when she only had an idea of the type of game she wanted and not anything specific. Each employee she talked to seemed very knowledgeable about the games and was able to help her without any issues.

I enjoy getting comics from here, along with the occasional card pack and mini figure for dnd.Its pretty clean and the prices are okay.

Best Tabletop game selection in Huntsville. Staff is mostly friendly, but Ive had some run ins with the management with not the best attitude in the past. Lots of gaming space upstairs.

The deep is always friendly. It is a great place to go for all your nerdy needs. With a knowledgeable staff and a large selection it is normally one of the first places I go for my card playing, table top gaming, and comic book needs. They do have a dedicated game room as well where tournaments and tabletop campaigns are held but be warned that it is at the top of a large set of metal stairs. They do have a table downstairs that less able players can use but it does isolate you from most of the tournament and trading as players have to come to you downstairs and at the other end of the store as well.

Im not super into comics but occasionally Ill stop by here. Staff is always super friendly and prices seem fine. Selection is a bit overwhelming - and I think thats a good thing. They have a LOT to choose from. Probably the best comic shop in Huntsville.

Adam knows the game and the market really well and has always been very helpful by answering all the questions I have in a very patient way. He gives fair store credit on trades and will give you an honest answer about whether a certain product is right for you. Hes a good dude. This will be my first stop for anything MTG.

Aggregate 3/5 based off of my last three trips there. Wide selection of products is the best feature of the store. The customer service is the worst.Pro: Location and selection.Cons: Docked for customer service, cleanliness (cluttered), and a baffling store schedule that I cant wrap my head around.I used to consider this place the go-to gaming store; however, the employees Ive encountered lately are constantly unprofessional, they cant find product and seem untrained in the use of their own sorting systems. Theyve consistently carried on and prioritized side conversations instead of being proactive with customers 2/3 visits and are generally unhelpful.Several products I picked were unavailable despite being registered in their own search engine, and/or they couldnt find them.The store is cluttered with product packaging often now and it seems that the current employees are failing to regularly clean/put out boxes and trash. Its often overflowing.Store closes very early for a gaming store, I feel that a right side rotation of hours would be better. Im sure Covid hasnt helped with staffing and other issues.Overall, its not a bad choice if youre just doing a quick search for a card or other collectible, but dont expect to have any meaningful interaction the way you will at other stores in the area.***Edit: Owner is aware of some issues and is responsive, some issues cant be addressed at this point; while they persist, staff is addressing them. I can tell you first hand I found this place about 4 months ago and I am glad I did the staff is always very helpful and Johnathan is by far the best deal maker there if you are looking for Pokémon cards and like to buy great cards like I do he will work with you. And I would say more people’s names but I don’t know them but I have never left there with a bad experience. ( I might have been mad because I did not have enough money lol but that is on me 😁 the store is very clean and they have a customer for life Huntsville should be very happy to have them in our back yard. This place used to be great. It’s gone down hill fast. Bald employee wearing sweatbands was annoyed when I asked to look in the case. For something and I asked a question and he didn’t even answer. I keep coming back to see if it’s changed....it hasn’t... I won’t be back. It’s a shame a real shame.

Every time I go in here Im always greeted and have help finding exactly what I need. They have a wide variety of games and comics and books and trading cards as well as figurines for d&d and other tabletop games. Worth a stop in if you are in the area.

Solid store for all your comic, cards, and board games needs. I found what I was looking for along with some other comics that I have been wanting to read. They had a decent selection of action figures. They had every board game imaginable. I had to talk myself out of getting another version of Munchkins. I will be back when Im visiting HSV. The staff seemed to stay behind the counter and when I had a question or needed something I would need to walk all the way to the front. Overall a great shopping experience.

They refused me for not wearing a mask, horrible service, when I walked out I was told by some rude woman with blue hair “don’t trip” so I guess they don’t value their customers. I would definitely not recommend this comic book shop. Very rude and horrible customer service. I pose this question, would any member of the justice league wear a mask for a virus that has a survival rate in the high 90’s?

Raising their prices to match scalpers because they say it cuts down on scalpers but in actuality its because they can make more money by matching the scalpers prices since you cannot buy Pokemon cards for cheaper online. I recommend going to JCs house of cards as it is way better, cleaner, and a more chill environment.

I bought some pokemon cards that I thought I was missing, but it turned out I already had some of them. I returned 30 minutes later and they would not let me even trade the cards in for store credit. Pretty poor customer service if you ask me.EDIT: Changed from 2 to 4 stars because I was able to negotiate and sell them back at some percentage and received a discount for the cards I actually needed. Still not a great deal. Lost about $40 for nothing. I had never bought cards from the deep and I didnt know the policy, so I guess thats on me.

A well stocked: comics, gaming and toy shop that plays some great ambient music. The location is not obvious unless youre looking for it. However once you get inside its much larger and nicer than I expected from the outside.

I took my comic book collection to them, offers 20 bucks, for a collection i knew worth 500+ as everything was Good Fair or Poor, but in the end i took 30 in credit, cause i did not feel like busting down my own collection and selling it. But he could of been more FAIR, i came wanting store credit anyways, if i wanted cash i would sold it though my store GEEKERS COMICS and GAMES. I know from running my own store, that i need to make money, and sitting on merchandise in the comic business is bad business. But Next time i walk in looking for store credit, i will ask for FAIR STORE CREDIT VALUE. not take fractions of what its worth, but wanted to get me and my son, into a TCG so we could play together. I would of been happy with Trade of 4 starter boxes, and full 36 pack booster box for Star Wars Destiny. and paid for the card protectors. Pictures below, these are just some of my collection...Cant really down a man for running a business. But be a bit more fair, when your patron just wants store credit. Im sure you will enjoy the 10x return you will get on the credit.

Having a comics and game store like The Deep in a small town like Huntsville is truly a blessing and a great opportunity for comic lovers and game lovers alike. The upstairs is devoted to gaming, never ventured up there but I intend to some day.The Deep is actually in sort of a historic building, the same building formerly occupied by Mock Electronics, which is why the street is named Mock for that great electronics store that saw its heyday during the 60s and 70s when NASA here was going gangbusters and Mock Electronics were supplying custom electronic parts and devices to NASA and customers all over town. I read when Mock was finally going out of business, they used to have delivery trucks making multiple stops every day, such was an indication of how busy and how vital their supplies were to the area electronic customers.

I am an avid player of several different board games and card games. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, and the prices are extremely competitive compared to other locations. I will always purchase products from The Deep before checking elsewhere due to the exceptional customer service and frequent promotions that they offer! Two thumbs way up!

Good inventory, good people. Play area is a bit of a chore to get to (some industrial stairs in the back go to a second floor thats a bit claustrophobic) but the employees know their stuff. A bit touchy about masks, hopefully theyll chill out when the vaccine becomes available.

I visited your store several months ago and was disappointed by my experience. The employee seemed disinterested and disregarded my request to examine a Chessex PoD you had for sale in your display case.I figured Id try another visit because I am an avid dice collector who loves to shop local and I understand that every business will have their off day.To be clear I received great customer service. The young man with glasses offered assistance at the dice counter and the lady at the front counter kindly accommodated my strange request for $5 in quarters for the vending machine of dice. During my time at the counter I was disturbed to hear some employees laughing and mocking two different people after they left the building. Maybe they thought no one could hear but they were mistaken. It kind of makes me wonder if they did that to me when I left. Yeah sure yall were nice to me in the store but after witnessing this sorry behavior whos to say I wouldnt be berated as well. Its downright disrespectful. I did get a lovely set of dice from your store but they will be that last set Ill purchase from this establishment.Please dont respond to this with a condescending sOrRy YoU hAd To WeAr a MaSklike I keep reading on your other negative reviews that mention nothing about your mask policy. Its unprofessional and I would have been wearing one even if it wasnt mandatory.

I used to go to the original location growing up. I was always excited to go,hang out, compete in tournaments, etc. The staff used to be so friendly and customer oriented. And stuff was decently priced. Now I honestly avoid the place cause I can buy my sleeves, playmats, etc for a lot cheaper online, the service is okay at best. And the overall atmosphere is just empty. Im so disappointed to see a place that I was so fond of as a kid turn in to this.

If I was a millionaire, I would buy all the old comics here. Excellent collection.
