Do not sign with Jacobson unless you are willing and able to go behind them and pay to fix all their mistakes yourself. This has been a long process filled with incompetence and lack of work ethics. You must be your own Project Manager and follow up with every subcontractor because the company does not communicate with the customer or the contractors. Our Story: we stated looking at floorplans and submitting mortgage paperwork in July of 2020. We signed our mortgage and ordered the house January of 2021. The house was delivered June of 2021. The next 3 months we spent fixing all the subpar work the contractors “completed”. The following is a list of some major tasks we completed ourselves so we could move in: Redid the plumbing under the house, reset crooked columns as part of the foundation, shaved down the kitchen counter to make the stove fit in place, redid drywall in the kitchen and entire master closet, repainted every door and frame, touched up sloppy paint throughout the house, fixed electric issues, fixed plumbing issues with the toilets and faucets, and finished window frames and window seals. The list goes on….Jacobson made us sign paperwork stating we were happy with the job the subcontractors completed before Jacobson would release the siding for the house (last step needed before we could pass final inspection). The company is underhanded and conniving in their business practices.We finally moved into the house September 22nd.10 days ago, I provided Jacobson with a comprehensive list of items they need to drop off. I informed them that we would install everything ourselves. Here is the list of items we are still waiting on : Refrigerator/Freezer that was ordered with the house, Broken light fixture in the Master Bathroom above the sink, Missing Living Room window cover triple cornice (Sng Cornice- Akria Smoke 1 over all 3 windows) and the hardware needed to install it, 1 new screen for one of the Livingroom Windows, Missing Vent Cover in Ceiling, Truffle color strips for the cabinets in the kitchen (Need 6 of them), New arm for the front screen door.Terrible experience, I would never wish Jacobson on my worst enemy. I would be petty are request Jacobson to reimburse us for the time and materials we spent fixing all their mistakes but I know that they would never adhere to that request.

I bought a home from them in 2013 and it has been nothing but problems. Daylight around door. Mold in air vents. Middle strip falling down. Light switches not working. Now a/c unit going out and needs replacing!!!! Run and do not stop here. It’s garbage!!!!

Great experience. I visited all the mobile homes dealers in the area and this was the best experience. I dont like sales people and their tactics. I can see right through them. Its irritating when you are making a large purchase. Our salesperson James was straight forward. He just gave me facts. I wanted to wait till everything was done before writing a review to make sure they would follow through. Well nice to say that everything went smoothly. Thank you James for a wonderful experience!

My husband and I went to look at new models, we were met with courteous staff members who answered all of our questions diligently. We have looked at homes at multiple lots and none of them made us feel as welcome. Home searching is much more pleasurable when you can do it without feeling rushed or pressured into buying options youre not interested in. Up front and honest. Told them what I was thinking about doing and they had many ideas. Not only for homes that were a little higher in budget BUT also homes that were lower. Felt as if they were truly looking out for my interest. Patient and informative. Not pitchy or pushy at all, very comfortable. When Im ready to sign, I wont be dealing with anybody else.

Bought a home. Feel the workmanship should be better. We have never lived in a mobile before so we had questions and always felt as if we were bothering them. Had a few issues after move in and it was several months before getting addressed. They passed the problems on but didnt make any effort to see they were completed. NEVER received any call from anyone about the home or any follow up about warranty issues.

Jacobson Homes: lacks integrity, and further more they DO NOT stand behind what they sell. Jacobson Homes should be removed from your high expectations list.Once the music ends (or checks are cashed)you will be left with undesirable results and an inferior built home and no one to help resolve any issues.Think this is sour grapes check out the Jacobson Website for yourself.Notice there is no direct contact or e-mail. No department contact lists or anything other than sales related material. ( 1980 video on how the homes are built) However, 20 plus years later their expectations have been removed 360 degrees South downhill.If you should call the factory in Safety Harbor ( since your dealer/salesperson can no longer help you) with a REAL concern ( wiring. leaking roof ) in a NEW HOME you are still only deferred to a voice mail for service department. Which WEEKS later still not a return a call.Good luck with your search on trying to find a reputable manufacturer in my honest opinion this company is not one....If you enjoy feeling disappointed and cheated this is your place.

Please do yourself a favor when you read through the nightmares of bad reviews, and really listen to these people . I wish we would’ve done that, I’m literally kicking myself for being so stupid to go with this poor excuse for a business! I’m not even in my home, but it’s been sitting on my property for 32 days and not a soul has been out, not to mention we just had to make our first mortgage payment and we can’t even move in ! It literally makes me sick to my stomach, please do your research ! I wish we would’ve, also there’s a great Facebook page “Jacobsen Home Nightmares “ and after reviewing it, I could kick my self again and throw up! They have documents and pictures of workmanship and customer service and it’s just sad & scary ! Numerous Jacobsen Home owners have went to an attorney to start a class action lawsuit against them . Please take your hard earn money and go to Royal homes down the street, I’ve heard nothing but amazing reviews and how great the customer service is at Royal Homes . Wish I would’ve went with them or just built a home . I can only imagine the nightmares to come after we move in from reading all the reviews . Remember you only have a year warranty once your mobile home is placed on property . Just to be noted I’m not a review posting person this is actually my first review EVER because I believe every business should have the opportunity to make right without me blasting it on the web, and I know there are people out there that you can’t please or just do it out spite, but please read these reviews and believe them ! I wish I would’ve ! Oh and after research a lot of the five star reviews or from employees or employee family members ! Classy !

This is without any doubt the worst experience my family ever had. They lied more times than we could count and, ultimately, we demanded our money back. The people that run this place are threatening and resort to violence if you question them and in our case, when we asked for our money back prior to the home being built. The only recommendation we can offer is to run far away from this company. There are far better alternatives available.

Entered into a contract to have a home built 9/1/2018. After numerous excuses, it was delivered 2/6/2019. It was set up 2/6 and 2/7, yet 10-weeks later, we cannot move in because there is no skirting and there is no front porch. We’ve requested a schedule on when the home will be finished, no response from our salesman.We have been forced to make two sizable mortgage payments on a home we cannot use. It just sits in our lot, waiting to be finished.I wish someone had warned us that these folks were dishonest. My wife and I would have kept looking. We cannot and will not recommend Jacobsen Homes to anyone under any circumstances. We honestly feel they could care less that we cannot access our home.I hope you are reading this JD. Worst salesperson my wife of 37-years or I have ever dealt with.

Great experience, the sales staff was patient and very helpful. I bought a custom floor plan that I drew up, everything went very smooth and right along with the timeline provided by my salesman At closing. I highly recommended Jacobsen of Lakecity.

I was told I would have my home completed by the end of January, middle of February . I haven’t talked to the salesman in three weeks. Last week I called and asked to speak to the owner, no one has returned my call. I am extremely disappointed in this whole deal. I wasn’t offered financing. I had to put half down to start and the balance to get the house out to my property. They have all of their money and I still don’t have a home I can live in, and NO answers. I do not recommend this business AT ALL!!!!! I feel like I was lied to, os that they could get their money. Here we are at the end of February and no one has shown up to work in three weeks. All I need is the paint, molding, and inspections. NOTHING!!!!!

Professional and great customer service. Never had any issues with any of the staff members or the owner as stated in previous reviews. We were satisfied with our visit to the Lake City Jacobsen Homes lot.

Absolutely the worst place I have ever dealt with. Ended up not going with them because they couldn’t get their numbers together. Wanted to just throw out lump sums with no break down of what it was for. AND as soon as we mentioned using a VA loan, forget it!! They became extremely rude, screaming on the phone and threatening. The owner Chris and his salesperson James are probably two of the most incompetent individuals I have ever met. However, I will say I love Jacobsen homes and even went to the plant in Safe Harbor to layout our own floor plan and they were amazing. I would just use a different dealer especially if you’re VA and don’t want to be discriminated against for wanting to use a better loan 4.85% than their broker/loan officers at 8%.

Lady we dealt with was ok at first, tried like hell to sell us a home. She almost had us until she kept trying to push us towards a lending company called Triad, gave us the run around about the VA loans. Needless to say we ended up not going with Jacobsen in Lake City, and went to Gainesville, got a better deal on the house AND my wife and I were easily able to use the VA home loan.

It was a very nice home that I was interested in purchasing until ... we were conditionally approved on THE WRONG HOUSE and LOAN AMOUNT that a sales rep submitted. I mean he way undervalued the loan and house. The house he was submitting was one, he never even shown me. To make matters worse I submitted the credit app the day after I looked at these homes. He literally marked an X in the book with the house I was looking at. Then after going to another dealer, I was told this same person has had some other misfortunes... I wouldnt recommend going here.

We brought a Jacobsen 2015 from Lake City Factoy Outlet. We had problems with the owner, Chris, and the Saleman James. We were lied to, cussed out, made fun of, promised things that never was delivered, and overcharged. I just went to the website and i see a comment that things havent changed. Bad customer service mean a bad name for Jacobsen. LISTEN; Tonya W and Miriam B. said it better than i could. I had the same problems.

If you want a #1 top quality home inside and out and want to be left with your sanity intact??? Then STAY AWAY from the Lake City dealership. Our sales person was James and he was a lazy idiot who made alot of mistakes on our order form for our house. He wont return or respond to your phone calls and texts until you show up in the office angry. Then he only tells you what you want to hear so you leave. Dont even think about going to the manager/owner Chris because he doesnt care about you and the problems your experiencing at HIS business. Hes well aware of Jamess issues because we are not the only customers that James as screwed over. But Chris doesnt care to help or make changes. The company they work with to complete the interior of your home is called Burns thats a good name for them because at the end of this process, you WILL FEEL BURNED. They hire TERRIBLE, SLOPPY and CHEAP workers who only preform low quality workmanship. Dont expect to get your home in a timely manner. They could careless about it. They wait until their time limit is almost up and throw there receptionist (Sonya) in to finish your home, and this is the best part, shes gets it done in 1 week!!!? So your left with a home w/crapping workmanship,all kinda of mistakes and a STUPID owner and salesman telling you we will make this right but you know its empty talk and your going to have to continue fighting for what you should have already received, A QUALITY HOME INSIDE AND OUT,( you know CHRIS And JAMES the one we are paying for) So if you dont want to experience a living NIGHTMARE, stay away from Jacobsens in Lake City!!!!
