I started a new career and post-divorce I wanted a new look. I am admittedly a novice when it comes to make up. I am lucky if I can get mascara on without messing up! I recruited my beauty expert daughter and hit the store on a mission! The woman who assisted us, Katie, could not have been more amazing! She was patient with all of my questions, listened to my wants and needs, helped guide me to the correct products, and explained why certain products would work better than others, etc. Not only that, but her personality was fantastic! My daughter and I spent so much time with her and had the best time doing so! I spent a ton of money but I walked away getting exactly what I wanted and needed. Not to mention that I look like a million bucks!! Kudos to Katie for her knowledge, professionalism, and a fabulous afternoon!

The staff here were great. I went in to refine a look I was going for, and the staff gave product advice that helped me get there. I knew what I was going for, but was not aware of the products that would serve my goal best. They were patient, taking the time to help me find products I had on my list already and locate products that would fit my need. Their help made the process easier, and it is appreciated.
Love having this store so close by. The stylists are so professional and they always have the products I need in stock. Definitely a repeat customer.
Ulta is the perfect place to get just about everything that is Beauty. You can order and pick up or shop right in the stores.
Had a great experience today. The associate, Brooklin, went above and beyond and even remembered to check back with us after she needed to help some other customers. When we thought something was out of stock she knew there was more and got it for us (and restocked that product very quickly). She also reminded us that we had earned a free product (buy 2 get 1 free)...that we didn’t even know about. Will be back!
Ulta beauty has a wonderful selection of fragrances, makeup, hair supplies, and tools! The staff is wonderfully helpful and patient, I would highly recommend this store!!!

After ordering the BareMinerals liquid foundation in my powder color online, the color ended up being way off so I made a trip to the Manassas one to find a better color. I asked an associate if we can test (because Sephora lets you if they put the product on a sponge and you apply it yourself). She said no, cant do that. But yet I can keep returning used products? I dont get the logic. Im touching the door to get in the store and the card machine, but I cant touch anything on the shelves... So now I have to make a 2nd trip to ULTA to return this foundation, as again, its the wrong color. The associate was no help whatsoever in that are.. Also, I get to the front desk to check out, and the girl is too busy talking with another associate about her Starbucks order to even acknowledge me. Why are there so many working in there, if they cant test anything on you or act like they want to be there? Ill take my business to Sephora moving forward.

Went in with a clear face mask that I received from my doctor (not a face shield) which I have worn in there multiple times and was told I had to leave. No one at the front of the store had a problem when I walked in, I was told after I was looking at products. Will not be purchasing from here ever again.
Came in with my hair in such rough shape and different colors and jade literally transformed me into a different person. She took so much time to perfect every single strand and even went longer than anticipated and put so much effort into making sure i loved it. I walked out with happy tears and cant thank her enough. I couldn’t recommend jade in the salon enough. she is INCREDIBLE. thank you!!!

I went to the Salon there and had a beautiful very talented young hairstylist named Emely . She gave me the best haircut I ever had . I got tons of compliments on it. We also had lots of laughs and I didn’t even had an appointment. ... i will definitely go back to her. 😊
I went into Ulta for the first time last week at this Manassas location. I got some gift cards for Christmas, didn’t expect much. But the staff was absolutely amazing, friendly, and super helpful. One in particular - his name was Hunter. I believe, he helped me get my foundation match, while others were waiting for him to help them. He was polite, super informative, and very helpful.I will be returning soon!- P
ALWAYS a great place to go! Only word of caution: it is IMPOSSIBLE to stay on budget because everything is so pretty - I end up leaving with 4x as many things as I went in for. Emily did an AMAZING job on my hair. The managers & staff go above & beyond to ensure happiness & helping to find the products that I needed!
Friendly staff, very clean store
Prior to coming to the store, I verified online to that the product was in stock. As a first time shopper in Ulta Beauty, I asked for assistance locating the product. I was turned around by two customer service reps and told they had never heard of the product and it wasn’t sold at that location. No one attempted to check their inventory system, they just turned me away. I went to my car and went to the Ulta website and discovered that most of the stores in the area showed this product being in stock. I went back in and asked the representative to search inventory using the item number. Magically, it was in stock at that location. No one attempted to help me unless I suggested a solution to this problem. This is not good customer service. In fact, I’m sure there’s plenty of products that Ulta sells that the employees have never heard of. I wonder how many other customers have been told that the location doesn’t have a product that is sitting right there in the shelf.
This review is about Ultas online customer service, not this particular store. I just could not find where else to leave it.I highly recommend going in store to purchase items instead of online. I have never had a problem with any in store customer service, however, the online customer service is terrible. I only used it because my current store was closed.I ordered 5 individual eye shadows from the website along with a bunch of other items. 2 of the eye shadows arrived completely damaged, which it fine, it happens. I let them know and they offer to reship one of the damaged items as one is out of stock. They give me store credit instead of an actual refund without asking. Not what I wanted but fine, whatever.They claimed they sent out a replacement of the other eye shadow and said a confirmation email would be sent. I wait 2 weeks, no package no email. I email them again saying I havent received it and instead of checking the status they tell me to wait awhile longer. I wait another 9 days, still nothing. I email again politely asking them to please check the status again, after another few days I get a response asking for the order number, item number, item name and color. (I already provided them all of this in the email they are responding to, guess they didnt bother reading the email fully. Also if they have the order number, history and info, not sure why I need to give their own SKU numbers) I say please send the replacement. They give me another $5 store credit for the OOS item. (not sure why, still not getting my refund apparently) and send the other one out again. This time I do get a email with tracking. It arrives. Broken. Again. Its been months since my original order, so at this point i know I am not getting a non broken item. I decided to wait for the store to open again and returned all of the damaged products. Ridiculous
This location needs to get their act together. A broken chip in a card shouldn’t make for the loss of a sale. This is a pretty typical situation that happens to cards. Same card has been used at other Ulta locations without issue because outside locations aren’t too lazy to scan at register or type in card number. Happily giving Leesburg or Fairfax my business instead. They know how to swipe a card.

This place is slamming. Far better than I imaged. They carry my beloved Chanel lipsticks! Bang! Plus other goodies like Burts Bee Tomato Astringent and Face Wipes. All kinds of great hair and nail products too.
MUST have mask they say, EVEN WITH medical condition OR YOU CANT SHOP. Can pull shirt over face they say. NO TRYING on makeup. So WHAT if you dont know what color you need. NEVER will I shop at ulta again WEARING A MASK DOES NOT STOP SOMEONE FROM GETTING SICK! If it did, why didnt they give prisoners masks?
I got my hair bleached in November. I forgot the lady that did it, but I got some highlights or a balayage done. The lady didn’t get the ends of my hair, so it makes my hair go from the color black to brownish gold to black again. I guess it’s fine but I would have to get my ends cut so it doesn’t look retarded. Other then that it looks great
Ulta has always been my go to place for make-up, hair products and skin care products. Used to have to order some of the products online. I am very happy to be able to get all my beauty and skin care that is top on my list of Must Haves! 💋There is always someone one to help find the products, and they make good suggestions on items that fit my taste. Just wish there was an Ulta a bit closer to our home.🏚
I shouldve started shopping for better makeup years ago. Someone saw me browsing and stepped into help. I told them what I wanted and needed and they gave me 4 products. Makeup isnt one of my core competencies, so its nice to go somewhere where people know things and are eager to help.
The other day, i went to the Ulta for a facial product. They have various facial products such as organic or foreign products. I went to pay and was asked if i had the Ulta loyalty and if i wanted to enroll. I said no and was asked if i knew anybody who had one. I said no again and was asked if i wanted one again, because it would provide me a possible discount today and coupons to my home. I said no again and then the employee asked for my information to sign me up. I understood the benefits loyalty, but i just dont want one. I was very annoyed that i said no and the employee didnt respect my refusal. I didnt continue with the purchase and left the store in disbelief.

Possibly the worst management I’ve ever encountered. No one wants to help you!!! On the plus side the cashier that helped me was very friendly and had a lot of product knowledge for curly hair.
I would have bought so much more had anyone seemed the least bit interested in helping customers. I spent 20 minutes wandering around in one section being overwhelmed by the variety of choices and would have welcomed someone offering some guidance. I eventually chose two things, and will try them.
This is a wonderful place for all your beauty needs. I love the layout of the store too. Lots of top brands to choose from.
Love going and just look for new products or for a gift for one of my daughters or granddaughters.
I cant say enough good things about Stephanie at the Bull Run Ulta. My hair is now a gorgeous silver purplish blonde. Its gorgeous! I get complimented where ever I go. If you are looking for beautiful hair then she is the one to call. 😊
Denzel is hands down the best stylist I have ever had the pleasure of working with. He listens what you ask for, he isn’t afraid of a challenge, and if he was overwhelmed the first time he did my hair (everyone is) he kept it to himself AND did an amazing job. I am biracial, with curly hair and a lot of it. Finding a stylist that can not only cut my hair, but color, blow dry AND style it is a huge deal and Denzel can definitely do it all, and always with a smile! I’ve always gone to Ulta for my makeup and skincare needs because they carry so much and their rewards program cannot be beat, but now they have won me over as a salon customer as long as Denzel chooses to work there as well!
Just got my haircut here by Stephanie she did a Fantastic Job! She didnt take too much length from my hair because I am growing it out. I love the shape and volume she gave my hair it is perfect!
I always get my eyebrows done at the beauty bar by Alexis. Shes absolutely amazing and does a wonderful job. Its been about two years since I started going to her for my brows.
The lady assisting my wife really understood that we have two ears and one mouth. Going back to purchase a surprise for my wife.
So normally I have had a good experience here, but today the service was horrible. Not only did the associate not know what promotions were posted, When I pointed to the sign, she just said well I just got here and dont know whats going on. She had to call another associate up front and acted as if I was inconveniencing her. I told her multiple times that I was using points, and she still failed to properly deduct the amount. When she finished the transaction, she just yelled next customer . If I were to judge by that 1 visit, I would not return.

This Ulta probably has the friendliest and most knowledgeable staff out of all the Ultas I have been to! They are always so helpful and always putting me on the BEST makeup!

I was Christmas shopping for all the girls in my family at ULTA tonight. I cant emphasize this enough; that the staff, especially Ashley, have been so wonderful. Truly helped me with all my purchases and I purchased many many gifts. Ashley was very patient and sweet. Will be an ULTA customer always. Maya was a delight to help us as well. Merry Christmas
I don’t like venturing into women’s stores especially this store in particular. I had to buy a gift for a friend and the ladies who wer working really helped me a lot, and made me feel semi comfortable
I will never go back to ulta beauty ever again there are only 2 good hairstyles in there Aquila and Denzel but the rest of them are disrespectful and rude. They will harass the you until you leave and not want to come back or they will talk about you to the other coworker in there or they will call the cops if you leave your animal in the car and they will keep harassing the cops until the cops tell them to leave you alone. This place will never get my business again

I usually only come to this location when Im in town visiting my Mom, but otherwise, I try to avoid it. I live an hour away. As other reviews stated, the majority of the employees are rude. If you come in there looking basic or with no makeup on and sweats, they are so unhelpful, but if you come in looking like money, theyre all on you and treating you nicely. Ive came in looking both ways and treatment is definitely different.Today I came in around 11am to pick up an order that I placed online. I cant remember the name of the girl that helped me, but her tag said lead cashier. Shes a heavy set Caucasian lady with faux red hair, a couple nose rings, and had ten pounds of makeup on with lashes so long that Im convinced she couldnt properly see. I came to pickup my orders today and gave her the correct barcodes to scan. My mistake for not checking the bags before leaving, but thank goodness I did before leaving the shopping center. She gave me the wrong order! I came back and she immediately blamed me for giving her the wrong barcode to scan lol. She claims there was nothing else there with my name on it. She couldnt even figure out how to scan the barcode properly or use the alternative way to pull up the order.She calls the manager over and the manager shows her the alternative way to retrieve the order. The lady tries to leave and the manager tells her to say around to finish what she started. The manager was really helpful. As I mentioned before, she was given the correct barcode to scan, but her lack of attention to detail and her long lashes prevented her from seeing her mistake.Heres some advice, simply compare the order number on the bag to the order number on the screen to prevent giving out wrong orders to customers. Its comical that the lead cashier was quick to blame me when it was her fault. Also, treat everyone fairly and stop being judgmental. I have two college degrees and will be working on my PhD in the future and I also make decent money. I guess because I came in wearing no makeup and sweats today she thought I didnt belong there and therefore didnt even attempt to try to find the solution to HER ERROR. SMH. Maybe she should work in the back.

Ok let me start with the store, its big and nice to the eyes looks clean and illuminated, if youre looking something in the low shelves you can find a lot of dust and off out stock merchandise but since no one go there to clean the employees dont know they need to order more products (like CHANEL cosmetics & fragrances) now changing the the lack of merchandise the staff in the floor looks busy attending customers (nice) and one very nice employee (I forget her name) shes a redheaded with huge natural lashes is checking and asking to all customers if they need help which is nice but, in general almost employees walking around there are courteous. The downside is for ULTA store company doesnt matter if you expend more than $200 dls. when youre at the register and ask for a free sample the cashier in a rude attitude says Nothing free I mean she can answer sorry the company doesnt give any more free samples or were running out, sorry etc. dont misunderstand me, I love the ULTA reward program and buying online when the free samples comes (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, or night specials), but sometimes you run out of something or you need a gift and you cant wait for four days till arrival; you need to head to the store and buy what you need without any sample :/ . Now the good news you can buy online and pick it up at the store (the bad, anyway no free samples) is super good at least I can use ebates. Well in general the store and employees are getting better, youre seeing normal with not over make up employees some fit and some overweight whats normal for me because were different sizes, THANKS YOU ULTA FOR HIRING A REPRESENTATIVES NOT BASED IN THE APPEARANCE. We only need a good, respectful, polite, treatment with a nice smile. And please get and give free samples in the store like in the beginning when you opened the store.

I am writing this on behalf of my partner who had a terrible experience at the Manassas store the other day. She arrived at ULTA shortly after the store opened, she had a coupon that unfortunately wouldnt apply towards her purchase for some unexplained and unknown reason. The cashier asked the store manager for assistance, but he would not respond, even after she asked him several times for help. The cashier told her that she couldnt help with the situation, and the manager told her to tell the customer not to use the coupon. I dont understand why a store manager cant be available on the floor when needed. Is this customer service, is this the way ULTA treats their customers or even their employees? The managers response or non-response in the business world is totally unprofessional. I guess customer service is not in his lexicon, oh my he might not understand those words. My suggestion to future or present customers find another ULTA store and that a regional manager help this gentleman to understand Customer first. Not having time or dont bother me is not an answer

I wish I could rate the Salon separately because I have received great service there and I will be coming back to get my hair and eyebrows done in the future, but the store side was awful. I had the worst retail experience ever there trying to return a defective item that was sold to my husband, they made it as difficult as possible, blamed the manufacturer and refused to give me any money back until I fought the issue for more than 2 with the manager on duty and the customer service phone line.
All of their foundation testers are busted. So I currently have foundation all over my brand new shirt. You cant find anyone to help you. The store is trashed. Any item I wanted to purchase they were out of. This location is a joke!

Is it possible to rate this store lower than one star. I spent 20 minutes ambling around the store before getting helped. The checkout staff was uninformed and seemed to make up the policy for coupon use on the spot without any factual evidence to back up their claims. Poor experience shopping here for my girls competition make up. Awful. terrible. Slow.
