Stumbled on to this cute and fun place. Not only the workers but everyone in this store was smiling but how can you not getting ice cream on a beautiful Minnesota summer day? For soft serve, shocking variety of different elaborate ice cream sunday creations and cones. I dont think Ive ever been to an ice cream place that had such fun combinations. Each ice cream creation is a work of art! Delightfully colored inside, and just fun to be there and order. It was even more fun watching the kids delight as they pick up their ice cream creations! Its set to adjacent to an open plaza area that is shared with the next door brewery, so it was fun eating our ice cream on a park bench listening to music and enjoying the beautiful weather. Even a food truck, barbecue. Variety of people from families, to couples, to old folks.
What a fun place to visit! Order at the booth outside and then proceed up to the second floor inside the building to pick up your ice cream creation. Make anything you want or choose from many unique specialty cones curated to enhance the soft serve with unique toppings and yummy waffle cones. My daughter loved the sprinkles and glitter added to hers! When you’re in NE Minneapolis make a pitstop. There is a metered parking lot across the street with plenty of parking spots. There is a bbq food truck and bar also located in this area if you want to make a whole day of it.
The mural alone almost makes MN Nice Cream and instant hit in our book. And then there are the epic soft serve ice cream cones masterpieces that bring it all home! Vegan options galore!Super friendly welcoming staff!!Air conditioning to welcome you in as you order your cold treats to go.Definitely must on a hot summer afternoon!
Family owned and operated by highschool kids that do it right! These kids bang through the orders fast and professional no matter if theres 5 or 50 in line! Always a great experience when we go there for a treat!
We hired the MN Nice Cream truck to come to our summer employee appreciation party last Saturday and we could not be happier with the service they provided! We held it at our warehouse and wanted to find a treat option that was different from a boring cookie platter, but also convenience and they did not disappoint. From booking to the actual event they were so each to work with. They were a huge hit and the ice cream was delicious! Will definitely be booking with them again in the future!
Its a great place for soft serve with some special toppings. The added bonus is that its right by a brewery and often has a good food truck out front too. When you go, Id strongly suggest NOT getting your ice cream in a cone. The soft serve melts quickly, making a mess, AND you dont get as much of the toppings as those who get a cup. If youre wanting a good Instagram photo, go head with the unicorn rainbow waffle cone. If you want soft serve with lots of delicious toppings throughout the entire experience, go for the cup.The Gone Bananas was good. The Cookie Monster was the best though.
What a fantastic experience! From the ambience, to the ice cream itself, MN Nice Cream offers the ideal ice cream store for all who enter its doors. Whether you are in need of a mid-day pick me up, or a late night snack, they offer the most creative, yet delicious ice cream youll see. If you are in the area, this is a MUST if you want an exciting place to visit.
The place:MN Nice is a small counter service joint inside a larger building that collects other businesses. There’s a tiny fairy door outside the building if you know where to look (think tiles). Once you get into the actual MN Nice location, it’s clear you’ve walked into an ice cream place that values color and fun.The walls are covered in art by @ashleymaryart (Instagram) accompanied by real neon signs (not sure if the muralist also made the neon). The location:Easy to spot, there’s an ice cream cone shape attached to the exterior of the building. There’s a generous outdoor patio shared with Able Brewing. Parking was challenging for us midday on a Tuesday, but it looks like there are lots of free options if you keep your eyes open. The food:Based on the menu, it looks like it’s mostly soft serve: four flavors with the option to swirl. The real star of the show is the toppings and the list is long.I opted for cake batter (vegan, made with okay milk) and blackberry hibiscus swirled on a plain waffle cone. The rich cake batter swirled with sharpness of blackberry was fantastic, just what I needed on a hot afternoon.Next time:I’ll actually get some toppings. I feel like I missed out on the chance to add sparkles onto my cone!
I loved everything about this place. The walls are painted with really cute colorful patterns, there are neon lights extolling the merits of ice cream, and the ice cream itself was delicious. Ive never had such good soft serve.
This place was so much fun. I’m dairy free and MN Nice Cream had a ton of vegan options. Sometimes ice cream places will have tons of great options but lack dairy free or vegan options, but not MN Nice Cream! They had tons of fun toppings and everything was delicious. Really fun spot to hang out with friends.
You go here for the novelty and experience, not the ice cream. The ice cream is sub-par. The Choice of toppings and funky specialty sundaes are inventive but overall the taste isnt anything special. Its all about the atmosphere and experience of visiting MN Nice Cream.
Despite the name, theres nothing passive-aggressive about the flavor here. Lots of toppings that are as good as the ice cream, including vegan options.Tell you what: park somewhere and you can experience some of the best breweries and restaurants in the Cities and finish it off here.
I really enjoyed this place. The ice cream was something so creative and amazing and the service was just perfect. Definetely going back!
So fun! Love the aesthetic of the shop and patio, and LOVE the ice cream! Lactose free soft serve is my match made in heaven. Plus they have amazing toppings and really reasonable pricing. Im a huge fan :)
Specialty flavors are a cool idea and the ambiance of the shop is cool but the ice cream itself tastes below average at best.
Love the oat milk soft serve. The gluten free waffle cone is the best cone Ive ever had.
Fun place. Great patio. Soft serve ice cream with crazy fixings!
Mmmm, so delicious and Vegan! Nice building and the ice cream servers RockI want it delivered everyday to my 🏡No cows were used
As a vegan I was so excited for this place, because with the passing of Izzys I needed another go-to ice cream shop, but this was NOT good. The ice cream while it had an amazing texture had no flavor and the purpose of the topping was to seemingly mask that fact. There were only two flavors that were vegan (cake batter and key lime) and you couldnt look up the flavors of the day on your phone. Also, they have a weird is it or is it not vegan thing where the caramel has dairy but the cookie dough doesnt. I am disappointed that the shop purports itself as a haven for instagram with not enough time spent on taste. All style, little substance.
I went in not knowing all of the ice cream was soft serve based, the add-ins made it unique but also a little challenging to eat.
Thank you for having so many dairy-free options, this is our favorite place to come to for ice cream, and we live 25 miles away!
We thought it was nice cream, ( ice cream made from frozen bananas)The lactose choc & vanilla options were SUPER sweet and slightly gritty.
Katie and her team are wonderful. Such and amazing company and always delicious.
The portions are very large for the cups, well worth the price! I got the cake batter ice cream, really tasty although it tasted like they might have used almond milk to make it lactose free? Regardless, highly recommend.
The vegan cookie dough was good as a topping but the vegan ice cream was a huge let down. Definitely much more focused on the image than the actual taste and texture of the ice cream. If you want good vegan ice cream, go to crepe and spoon instead.
Whats not to LOVE!! From the friendly staff to the eccentrically painted interior and of course the soft serve! I love all the tasty options you can choose from and they have gluten free cones and vegan ice cream. The ice cream is smooth and flavorful. I love the chocolate vanilla swirl :)
Honestly, I dont understand the fuss. It was good, but it wasnt$6/cone good. They were very efficient, so that was nice. But it didnt remotely knock my socks off. Plus, the much-touted ice cream glitter was barely visible, so that didnt feel special at all.For my money, a DQ crunch cone is about 10 times tastier, served colder, and cheaper to boot.
Fun ice cream experience. Definitely worth checking out. We will be back.
What an awesome and over the top ice cream experience!! It was just like going to the State Fair without the crowds. The atmosphere was so fun!! The ice cream was out of this world fantastic!! I had one of their State Fair specials. Waffle cone loaded with cinnamin bun ice cream (to die for!) An actual mini cinnamin bun with sprinkles and on a scewer, along with two mini chocolate chip cookies. And dont forget the caramel topping too. It literally was a State Fair experience. I felt like a kid as the caramel and ice cream dripped on my hand as a ate the cone. It was so wonderful. This wasnt just going out for ice cream but it truly was an ice cream experience!! I cant wait to visit again!! Highly recommend people going out of their way to enjoy ice cream here!!
Good sized portions and fun combos, only have soft serve, so just know its more about toppings than ice creams!
The best ice cream in MN!! Great vegan and lactose free options. They will be a regular stop for me.
I was expecting a lot from this place. I came here this summer with my neice on what turned out to be a very cold and gross day. I seriously love ice cream and consider myself an ice cream connoisseur. I loved the different toppings and the really awesome and exotic combinations of textures. However, all the ice cream is just basic soft serve and very boring and uninspired. I was not impressed with the actual ice cream at all. The prices are spot on for what you get, and the staff is super nice and friendly.
A fun place to come and experience. Tons of parking and seating. This is the place to go if you want to get a cool creation and have some fun. The not so greats are that its not cheap and they dont have prices listed. You stand in line and then get to be surprised when you get to the front. Also, they only have a couple of kinds of ice cream and its just typical soft serve. If youre into toppings and aesthetics though, this is the place for you.
Wonderfully imaginative ice cream creations. You can design your own arrangement or select a special designed by the house. There are dairy-free options for those who are lactose intolerant. Theres also a lot of offerings that are gluten-free and/or vegan. Theres limited indoor seating, but some good space outdoors.
Date night with my husband. The perfect treat to share. Vegan Black and vegan mint with Oreo crumbles.
We had the MN Nice Cream truck at my daughters wedding, what an addition to the day! Adorable truck with fabulous staff (day of and organizing the truck), makes for great pictures and happy guests! I highly suggest adding the truck to your next event! Thank you MN Nice Cream!
You gotta go there!! It is an amazing place! Lots of fun and creative ice cream treats in a lighthearted atmosphere. My favorite was the Camper Cone with real toasted marshmallows, graham crackers, mini peanut butter cups, granola and caramel. Can you imagine a ice cream sundae with actual fresh toasted-right-there marshmallows on a stick! Delightful!!
You can expect a huge line here. I have been to this place several times and it always had a big line. It is a popular place and next to a brewery. There are usually a couple of ice creams here but with large selection of interesting toppings, They also have special toppings on days, their ice cream is lactose intolerant, I saw they have food options now. The place is small and appealing, the staff were friendly with suggestions. We tried the vegan blue moon and chocolate vanilla twist with affogato and berry Toppings, the ice cream was pretty good but not extraordinary.
What is not to love?! Delicious ice cream, great staff…food trucks outside! My photos didn’t save.
If you want an instagramable ice cream picture you have to come here! Not only does their ice cream look delicious, it is delicious!!! They put glitter on some of their specialties and the fun artsy designs are pretty awesome. The place itself is really cute, cute wallpaper and decor and they have a menu outside as well, in case youre waiting in line, youll have plenty of time to think about what you want to get. If you get a cone and finish the whole thing, youll find a small surprise at the end of your come.
Late stop for ice while visiting Minneapolis. Great flavor!
We took our visiting granddaughter, she had the tie-dye cone and said it tastes bland. Great service, clean location. The ice cream is just ok.
We visited the MN Nice Cream truck....and oooh yum!Talk about a tons of topping options. Super fresh toppings. And most of the toppings are homemade. Like; puppy chow, cookie dough, brownie. Amongst other options; candies, sprinkles, fruit, EDIBLE GLITTER! Super fun and delicious!
This ice cream is bomb.com. Perfectly icy and creamy! Sooooo good
Had the Cookie Monster! Was very tasty. Chill vibe and tons of places to sit outdoors. Hidden Gem for sweet treats in NE.
Im saying ok because I havent been here before. I have to check out the menu and see their offerings. My favorite is Sebastian Joes so Im interested in checking out the Nice Cream on the other end of town.
Kid and I need to be dairy free. The vegan ice cream was incredible and we finally didnt have to skip when others got an ice cream treat!
Awesome ice cream and the outdoor seating area was just fantastic. Plenty of space for people to sit while maintaining social distance.
I was so excited to find lactose free ice cream!! It was fantastic! The staff were so friendly and nice, I wish they would open a place in minnetonka/eden prairie area!
Free ice cream to dogs, great lighting and seating. Great ice cream waffle cones. Next to ABLE brewery.
Fun add-ons to their dairy free nice cream.
Great ice cream, crave-worthy add-ons, fun staff and cheerful vibe.
Well worth the wait!! You wont be disappointed
My girls and I love the ice cream. I really appreciate the lactose-free-ness of it. I look forward to them opening back up to normal so i could order their signature cones. They do a way better job putting together flavors than I do.And buy the sweatshirts!!!! They are so so comfy and so cute. They have helped me through the pandemic in coziness
MN Nice Cream is open and ready for take out. There were three of us today and we each ordered build your own dishes. We chose vegan cake batter with a variety of toppings. They were all perfect. You pay for the s, m, or large cup of ice cream and for a small charge add toppings. Edible glitter is free😉 We loved yummy puppy chow, hot fudge and Butterfinger. Way to go with dairy free choices MN Nice Cream!
What a fun place! The Camper and Fun Cone were yummy. We’ll be back!
Friendly staff. Beautiful food. Wonderful area to enjoy the outdoors. They have a lot of different types of ice cream cones and the ability to personalize them. If youre in the area its worth stopping by. There isnt much of a wait and its delicious. Soft serve is not my favorite type of ice cream but theirs tastes good.
Delicious! I had the Bananaz which was gluten free with puppy chow, nuts, bananas and peanut butter 🤤. The line wasn’t long and the staff was friendly and helpful. I also got the gluten free cone which was kind of chewy and hard to eat for $2 extra and would probably skip next time. They also have little cone holders to help prevent melting ice cream getting everywhere which was really helpful.
I really really love this place! I genuinely almost cried today after having my first proper root beer float in YEARS! Im very lactose intolerant and this place is a godsend
MN Nice Cream has taken over the space formally occupied by Empire Coffee. They still have the same espresso machine, and do some of the same coffee roasts, but now with the addition of soft serve ice cream and a TON of toppings.I’ll miss Empire Coffee’s cardamom latte, but an ice cream shop is a sweet new addition to the neighborhood.
Super tasty, fun toppings, and great staff
I wish I could give this 0 stars because it is legitimately the worst ice cream Ive ever had. Cookie dough ice cream lacks texture and has no flavor... In a state with amazing dairy, I would expect something much, much better.
Everything here is over the top and fun and super photogenic and I love it. You can customize your own cone/dish/taco or pick one of theirs if you feel (understandably) overwhelmed by the possibilities! The ice cream is really simple and tasty, but lets be real youre here for the toppings. They have toppings you wont find at other ice cream places, from puppy chow to edible glitter! Theyre all amazing and Im so happy this food truck fave turned into a storefront! Definitely opt for a tie-dye cone or a taco shell, they taste like cake and are delicious.
Super fun, I appreciate they always have vegan flavors and a variety of vegan toppings.
Wife loved hers. The idea of almond milk ice cream is nice. Will go again when it is warmer out.
Toppings and cones makes a pretty picture but the ice cream is tasteless. Also, the longest wait for soft serve ice cream. Staff are friendly though but most likely I won’t be returning. Over-hyped.
I was expecting all of the toppings to be blended with the ice cream but no they just stick it in there kind of hard to eat. And clusters pretty mess
Ice cream here is always beyond excellent. Tons of old favorites and new flavors all the time.
