I visited the Lidl 6440 N Military Hwy store today at exactly 4:19 pm and had a really, really bad experience with one of their associate at register number 1. She was also giving me an attitude for trying to correct her.I brought a 3 clearance items up for check out and whatever she rang up was the wrong amount because the clearance prices was coming up as the regular prices and she was arguing with me so i told her to get me a manager while taking care of the other costumers in line but rather giving me attitude, saying she cant change the price. The manager finally came and she told the manager i said for her to change the price, which i never said that. Thinking that this female manager was going to resolve the issue, she rather made it worse by wasting my time telling me someone changed the prices. I left all of the items and bought only the bakery in other to get the store number for the review.

Great deals but beware of the produce....tends to go bad fast! Very nice employees. Good variety in cheeses. Lots of interesting foods. Bring your own bags!

Literally the best grocery store I’ve been to. Everything is high quality and for a good low price. It’s the only place I go for groceries now.

I visit this store often. It has great prices, excellent service and I am in and out of the store in a matter of minutes. That is the best aspect when there are 4 or more people in line, they open up a new line. In and out in minutes, what a way to go!!!!!

I shop at all stores I happen to be near on my way home from driving for Uber, and I am never disappointed. I also go as early in the morning as possible - 7:00 a.m. on Tues and Thurs for seniors. They have the best produce for a great price which makes it possible for me to afford fruit & veggies all year. Stores are clean and well- staffed, and stock is plentiful.

Very clean! Love the sales! Definitely recommend getting the app! They only had two registers open plus the self check out. The cashier seemed to be in a hurry when he was ringing us up and just shoved everything down the belt. He didnt wait for me to bag our groceries before sending down the next customers groceries. But other than that it was fine.

If you want BEAUTIFUL pumpkins without paying a not-so-beautiful price, we just purchased four @ $2.50-ish per pumpkin. They are HUGE!

Great prices but limited on some things.

Prices are always the best around! The produce is amazing while the selection does rotate on many items the ones they have on the regular are always way lower than other stores. I love to grab spices, and snacks from here. They have a rotating selection of other goods as well from cutting boards and socks to car thingamabobs and gift baskets.Dont forget to bring your own bags! They charge for the ones they offer....

I love this store in Norfolk, VA. So clean and organized. Also has the best fresh produce and reasonable prices. Hope they put one in Roanoke, VA.

The store is well organized and stocked. I wish I would’ve gotten the employees name yesterday but he was rude and acted like I was an inconvenience by asking a question yesterday. Then he proceeded to watch me like a hawk in self check out. It was almost offensive. It wasn’t until I stared back at him that he walked away.

Great store for good prices and food

Great prices but you can never find a staff member if you need assistance.

The prices are very very low. This reflects the fact that they use their own brands (similar to the well known brands). Although they do have topical products. The place is kinda small but it has a good variety of products. I will definitely go for my day-to-day shopping.

I love their fresh fruits and vegetables. The cheeses, so many to choose from! I also love their wines

Lidl carries a variety of items at reasonable prices. The produce is fresh. I was surprised to see several name brand products in the store. The paper bags are $ .07 a piece which is a fair price.

I went here specifically looking for a cat tower that was on sale (sometimes sale items can be hit or miss). This time I scored a bullseye and got the last one.

I personally think Lidl is going downhill. an example: Sandwich meat (ham and turkey) looked BAD. Definitely would not buy or eat it but the expiration date was the end of March. Some milk and dairy products were expired. Many staple products were not even available. They no longer sell their brand of diet cola. they sell Coke that WAY overpriced. Bakery was out of fresh baked bread. Dont understand what is going on with these stores

My first ever trip to Lidl! The store was neat and clean. I was just taking a peek and did not have a list or anything specific I was going to buy. I, of course, ended up with a bag full. The prices are good and there is a good mix of Lidl brand and other brands. The produce area looked good. I will be coming back prepped with a list. The ads are super helpful and you can always google what others suggest are the must busy. They have self checkout which is what I always prefer to use. A large wine section. Bring your own bags or you can purchase some there.

The store itself was wonderful....the other shoppers though, several even though they wear a mask, it is dropped below their 👃 nose, NO ONE THERE TO REMIND THEM!!! AND many shoppers DO NOT FOLLOW 6 FEET distancing....several, I mean several came up to where I was looking or choosing an item, they did not wait their TURN, they just got in there RIGHT NEXT to ME 🤯🙈😎 WHEN WILL LIDL CONTROL THESE ISSUES????

***I work here.*** Decent pay and they treat us well. This is a German company, so benefits are better than average. Most people ask about the 1 line rule. In our training modules, the rule is 3+ customers and we ask for another line. But this is where it gets tricky—we usually staff 6-8 people in the morning and 4-6 people in the evening. There is no “free time” for us in the stores. You will never see an employee not currently working on a task. Ever. So to open a line, they must stop whatever task they’re doing, which may be in the bakery or back of the store. 10 times out of 10, we are doing this task to help you, the customer. We are constantly stocking, baking, clearing boxes, and reshopping items. So it may take us a little while to get up front. Now having all registers open will cut down on productivity substantially! There would be nothing getting done. We **try** to have resisters open as need be, but remember, this is not Walmart. We do not have infinite staff. Self checkout opens at 10AM (can be earlier in some cases). I promise, the tinniest, smallest, little crumb of patience is worth the money you save shopping here. Also, we are always hiring!

I really enjoyed shopping there, unfortunately, if you want to buy a single onion - this is NOT the best place to shop. Their produce is great. You just have to want a lot of it.

Excellent place to shop! Sometimes the lines to check out are long, I saw a security guard help an elderly lady do the self check out to speed up her paying for a few items. He helped her with every item, very heart warming. I wish I got the gentlemans name, he truly is a gentleman! Lovely to see how much people care in this store!

Great prices, nice quality and good selection... also random things every household needs. Also, We enjoyed the experience, is different in comparison to our regular supermarket. Recommended!

Great prices for a dozen of roses.

Excellent customer service! One employee outside facilitating social distancing while grabbing carts and she disinfected each cart when it was returned. All staff were wearing masks properly, and they made it easy to comply with distancing measures at check out. Only saw one customer without a mask, out of maybe 40. Great job!

Security wasnt at the best. I was accosted by a panhandler, & when I notified. Management they did little or nothing to handle the problem.

They have great deals on all their organic foods. Prices are very reasonable. Best grocery store around, hands down

Lidl is a very good store with a wide variety of products and an in-store bakery. Like Aldi and Trader Joes, they do not rely on popular brands but have their own branded products of very good quality. They also have an ever-changing array of special buys such as clothing, tools, school supplies, home and lawn goods. You can save serious money at Lidl.

Lidl is slightly trash. This is whats found in their produce dept. (See photo). I dont know what the produce dept does all day but they surely do not care about their consumers. Also Im on my way back there due to all my potatoes being green. I noticed one or two when I purchased them but when I opened the bag, all of them are bad. And green potatoes can cause sickness! This was the last straw.

Good alternative to food lion or kroger. Similar to Aldi but with a more consistent inventory and little bit higher prices. Good variety of products, both store label and name brands.

Whats happened to this place? The last few times Ive gone they dont have more then one check out open. Today they didnt have any cleaning supplies for carts inside and outside the place had trash everywhere. It looks discussing.

I went to Lidl’s after careful consideration ( because Aldi’s is closer to my apartment) and it’s definitely better than Aldi in my opinion . They have more American brands and a wider selection of food.They are higher in cost, but it’s worth it because it’s still isn’t as high as Food Lion or Walmart. The only thing I don’t like is that you have to bring your own plastic bags because they only offer brown bags, unlike Aldi where you have brown and plastic bag options, so I would give Lidl’s a 8/10 ☺️

Perfect for what it is, great value on store brands, wine and beer, etc. They dont have everything, and the lines can back up due to self bagging and customer volume. Very good in general.

Their fresh deal is always good especially the grass fed beef and lamb. Their special weekly deal also something to look forward every week, especially the crafts and school stuff. Their bakery is exceptional, always taste good and better than most grocery store and the price is excellent.

Sells bad food and wont do returns on moldy food. Careful for meat sales. Smell of rotting flesh came from the chicken tenders they had for sale. They lady said no returns due to pandemic. I seriously hope they were going to try and restock shelf with return items. Reporting them to department of health. Selling rotting food is a health hazard!!!

Cashier couldnt keep the hair out of his eyes and he was sullen to the customer ahead of me because she had a question. Store was also dirty. Its declined since it first opened

Red grapes were gone--but mangoes were plentiful. Some prices were high. Shoppers were not practicing social distancing, but masks are required. Cashiers & staff were friendly. As a first time shopper, store layout was confusing. Bathroom was clean; bring your own wipes if you feel nervous about using a public toilet. Dont use their water fountains; they werent clean.

This was my first and unfortunately my last time going to Lidl. Besides not being impressed with the selection not one coworker even acknowledged my presence. Several past right in front of me and look me in the eye and said nothing. Even though we are still in the height of a pandemic all of the sanitization stations they set up were empty. I watched a coworker bring carts to the corral multiple times and never once checked to see if the the sanitization stations were filled. Just kept putting dirty carts in the corral. This lack of follow up for ensuring a clean an safe environment not to mention the poor customer service is enough for me to never shop there again.

As Lidl increases its variety of stock I am increasing the amount of groceries I purchase from them.

Prices are good, the store is clean, but they should improve the presentation of the vegetables, the don’t look fresh .

Lidl is always great. Interesting products that are sometimes available only at Lidl. Good quality and prices. I hope there often.

Was ok. Actually had what I needed after going to 3 different Lidl stores

Prices are not nearly as good as they like to advertise. Meat was twice as expensive here as at the Food Lion down the road.And they didnt have nearly enough lanes open with cashiers. They want to funnel everyone towards the self checkout... Which doesnt accept EBT for some reason. Heck, even the walmart can do that! Wound up with fully thawed frozens by the end of the trip.Shop around before going here. Only go if you need something only they offer.
