They did a great job on a hard to match back wheel replacement. A month later everything is perfect.
I bought a bike from them a few weeks ago, the staff are very friendly, knowledgable and super helpful. They gave me a free tune up after a month of riding and are always happy to answer any questions. 10/10 would recommend !
Products are good. But it would be nice if the people selling the bikes were interested or showed some type of enthusiasm selling bikes. Extremely unwelcoming, but very cool setup and great new bike.
The employees are rude arent willing to help. Philly need more bike shops with more diversity. On top of bad customer service I was sold a tube that wont even take air. I also came to your establishment Friday dealt with the same person guess they had two bad days.
Friendly, great prices and quick what more can you ask for?
Im grateful for this place and the inventory. My tool was a simple one but I didnt want it shipped and I needed it NOW. They were quick friendly and easy. Costumer services included when I called to ask for inventory before my departure on my hunt.So for that, you get my time, rating and post.Thank you
Prices too high.. $400+ for commute/hybrid bike
Awesome Shop- Got my son a Blocks Flyer, Only shop in 100mi radius that had. Also currently repairing a BMX bike for my daughter. Fair pricing, Great Service!!!
Excellent service. Friendly, knowledgeable, and fast.
Bought a bicycle today, great, fast service! A little too far away from my house to go to for service and parts but if you live near by definitely hit them up! Super friendly and only sold me what I wanted, didnt try to over sell... love that. Thanks!
I took my electric bike into the shop today and Ryan was so helpful and not only fixed the problem, but took the time to explain it. Great price to fix and raise my handlebars. Very quick and super friendly. I would recommend this shop to anyone with any kind of bike. Thanks Ryan!!
Great work and customer service
Trust me: you should use these experts for all bike repair needs. I scheduled an appointment and they kept to timelines and communicated everything with me thoroughly. Most importantly, they did an awesome job tuning up my new gravel bike and it rides so smoothly. The bike doesnt have the best components (I bought it from a third party) but it was adjusted to peak functionality so it rides like a much nicer bike due to the expert tuning. Thanks for everything!
Extremely someone place. They really their time to make sure you get everything you need and dont push anything you dont. They take care of small matters very quickly and inexpensively and large matters thoroughly and carefully.
Great shop, great neighbors. Thanks for continuing to serve West Philly! We love you guys!
Had been there due to a misalignment of gears on a second-hand bicycle which the owner didnt tell me about and didnt have the courtesy to even apologize after I complained. It was a cheap bike and I thought I had wasted all money on a rotten deal. Went to firehouse bicycles because it had such great reviews. I dont know his name but the service person told me that this basic model bike wouldnt last another year and that I shouldnt waste money on it anymore. I told him the price I bought it for and he said hed take a look. He set the misalignment right very quickly and didnt take money from me! He said that service is very expensive and I shouldnt have hopes of resale due to engineered obsolescence. He realized that I had wanted to get only a cheap bike and that the service would be too much for my purse. What a nice and kind guy! I saw that all the other customers also were were getting lot of knowledgeable advice and great service! Recommend highly!
I came here a few weeks ago to get my tires changed and my inner tubes changed that my uncle sold to me that he rode the hell out of. They charged me less then $60 which was very reasonable. If I would have went to the other place Ive would have spent almost $100. Its a comfortable energy in there when I went to the other place I felt uncomfortable. This place you dont feel that way I enjoyed the staff here they were very friendly and helpful.
I’ve been bringing my bike here for over a year now and it is easily the best bike shop I’ve had experience with. Everyone who works here is super helpful and down to earth. They go above and beyond yo help you out. As far as I know this is the best bike shop in Philadelphia. Keep it up firehouse
Really nice bike shop. I know absolutely nothing about bikes and the workers there were really helpful and non-judgmental. They tuned up my bike and I got some basic equipment for a good price. Ill definitely be coming back here.
Great service that got me on the road quickly. Everyone was very friendly and I appreciated their honesty. Honestly, the only downside is carrying your bike to the second floor, but the staircase is wide, so its still very convenient!
This is not just my favorite bike shop, its one of my favorite businesses around. This is due to their competence, speed and reliability, but above all to their honesty. I have walked in prepared to spend money on some upgrade to my bike, and theyve explained why the upgrade I have in mind is unnecessary for my needs and not worth the expenditure. When I show up with a questions, theyll often throw in a free tweak or tuneup. When they do work on my bike, the service is reasonably priced and top-notch. Thats how you make a lifelong customer.
Always helpful and friendly!
Quick response, staff seems cool and knowledgeable.
Fire house staff are cool but there prices are insane and not in a good way, went to get a bike pool for my bike 20 bucks then the connection for the seat 5 bucks then the seat 25 bucks and installation another 5 or 10 bucks . I think thats completely insane, I hope another bike shop opens up out here .
Really cool bike shop with knowledgeable workers. Customers treated with dignity and respect. Owners are very nice, dedicated cyclists, and committed to the community. Reasonable prices in every way. Best bike shop in the city and an asset to the west Philly community.
The experience I had with them is always excellent
Lot of stairs to walk up!Very friendly and helpful people !Know alot about there bicycles !My friend was happy to buy a bike from them !If u need bike check them out !
Just went there today and got great service. The attendant was informed, pleasant, fast and helpful. My tire was replaced (along with the inner-tube that I brought in with me). I was in and out in a half hour. Really a convenient place and quite popular with the bike riders Ive met in the neighborhood. Im new in the area and Firehouse was quickly recommended before Id actually done any research as to where I might repair, update and accessorize my Schwinn. The cost was very reasonable and Im happy to have ridden down there and made their aquaintance!
Great shop. Ive always had friendly, knowledgeable service. If you want to understand all your options they are up-front and patient. Great selection of new and used bikes. Decent selection of gear and accessories.
Be sure to stretch before going in because you have to carry your bike up a flight of steps just to get to the balcony of the shop. Once in the small cramped shop you will see that it has a great selection and nice knowledgeable people telling you about fixing up the bike you have or buying a new one. The place is expensive with all bikes starting around 350 but their free bike check up is more than fair.
If youre one of those guys who has to have the latest gear, this probably isnt the shop for you.But for the rest of us, this is the best shop around.Firehouse/Wolf cycles features a good selection of used & new bikes & parts. This is one of those shops that instead of trying to sell you the high dollar stuff, pushes proven reliable products. In my experience their stock and experience with vintage bikes is second only to Via bike. They have a very skilled staff. The staff here is not the outgoing sales type who wear a fake smile all day, but very knowledgeable and honest. They do great work at a highly competitive rate. This is my go to shop and I just wish I lived closer!
I know people that cross the city to go to this bike shop because they are the best. Staff are super nice and talk to you on the level, giving you options for new and used, fancy or lower-priced gear and repairs. Fast, reliable, affordable service. Its also a worker-owned collective with scrupulous standards regarding bikes.
Great prices for bikes, parts, and service. It is a very comfortable place to shop. I never feel like Im being sold to, while the mechanics are all available and knowledgeable. I come from Northern Liberties to get my bike serviced here.
I had been looking in to all Philly area shops. Reading reviews, experiencing a few and trying to get a gauge of character through their sites -tough to do.Well, Firehouse provided a great listing of services, enough detail without wasting time and got right to the point Stop in some timeThat is always the key with bike shops, you have to stop in...Well, I emailed them with my concern and I got a speedy response from Paul. Wobbly front wheel. Hed have to check it out, Id have to find time.So I just got back from my visit. A quaint shop loaded with bikes! Tons of parts...So much goodness and reasonable parts pricing packed in to a cozy space. My repair was minimal and I he tweaked a few other things for me and the charge was nothing. I have another shop local to me and they would have easily charged double.I am due for a tune up. I was aware of certain things that needed attention that Paul pointed out such as my wheels being out of true and some other small details. But, can you believe when he was telling me the info he was really nice?! A true pleasure to come across in bike shops...I cant wait to take my bike back to Firehouse!
Always do fantastic work at a very reasonable price.
Helpful knowledgeable staff. Very good repair service. Can fix just about any bike fairly fast. In need of a major or minor bike repair? They are well staffed at this location.
Good customer service and price. Who could ask for anything more. I will be shopping there whenever I need bike items.
I lost my Scott S50 a year ago and didnt think I would be able to afford a quality road bike any time soon. I decided to go slumming for used bikes, just to be able to ride again. In my mind, I pictured myself riding some unfamiliar, rusty, heavy steel-framed anachronism that barely got the job done. Like a one-night stand that youre stuck with, or a cheap, 80 year old prostitute.Anyway, I was expecting to lay down 200-300 for just that. Its tough to get a well-manufactured used bike for anything less, unless youre ready to pay for new shifters, brake pads, chain, and do all the leg work with paint/rust.Instead, what I got was a bike that rivaled my old S50 in performance for $400. The S50 had cost me $850 in 2011. Sure, the paint has been chipped, theres slight rust on the gears, and the frame isnt exactly sexy, but it feels like Im riding my S50 again. Theres nothing I cant take care of, the shifters are in great condition, barely any rust on the bike, and they painted back over the frame. The wheels are solid, the tires are new, and I cant speak more highly of an used bike.Even better was their service and genuine efforts to help me find what I needed. I rode 4 bikes around the block before I found this beauty, and they took it out of the back just for me. You get what you pay for at Firehouse, and with used bikes, thats honestly all you can ask for.
Really nice people there.
Helped with my bike for free
So nice, just needed a bolt tightened but I couldnt figure out which one would do the trick.
If you live in University City, this is the place to take your bike. The pricing is more than fair, and I was even able to receive a few minor adjustments free of charge. It is a bit further out, but when you compare it to the other options nearby (Keswick Cycle), it is more than worth the extra distance. The staff are very knowledgeable and, most importantly, friendly, unlike the aforementioned business. Highly recommended.
Great bike shop. I took my recumbent trike to Firehouse Bikes, thinking it needed a tuneup. They carried upstairs for me, looked at it, said it just need the chain and steering tie rods lubed, which they did for free!!!
Ive been to many different bike stores around Philly and would 100% recommend this place over others. I had positive experiences over the last two years.
Firehouse is great -- theyve fixed my bike a few times, they always meet their own deadlines (although they are pretty busy, so sometimes repairs take a few days), and when theres a simple fix, they let you know it, take care of it right away, and dont nickle and dime you.
Fast, personable, affordable and knowledgeable. I cant recommend them enough.
Incredible Service. The staff was extremely helpful.
Been shopping here and their sibling store Wolf Cycles since 2014 and Ill keep shopping here for as long as theyre open!
Extremely helpful staff, good inventory, and very reasonable prices! I couldnt have had a better experience.
The place seemed nice. Only inconvenient because there are stair so you have to carry your bike up. But we got help from one of the employees so that was good.
Ive always been happy with my experiences getting my bike repaired here.
It was a dark and stormy night -- and I did not feel like trudging through the rain to get my flat tire fixed and a pair of new tires, but boy am I glad I did I stopped in. The two dudes in working tonight in Firehouse Bicycles were super cool, super professional, and super efficient. They had my bike perched on a stand, repaired, and returned it to me within 15 minutes. Two new tires, two new tubes. Installed. All for $40! I couldnt be happier. Now Im back on the road and my bike rides hella better. Ill definitely be back.
Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable owner!
Great staff. Helpful and nice. They get the job done, and are crazy cheap. Best bike repair I know. Go here if you get the chance.
Cant recommend this place enough, I will never go anywhere else for bike repairs and parts. The staff here are great!
Friendly service. Bigly skilled mechanics. Great deals on refurbished bikes of all types.
Firehouse Bicycles does high quality repairs for reasonable prices. Im very satisfied with the service I received from their staff, and I highly recommend this shop for bike repairs.
The people their have very good knowledge about bicycles, an ate very friendly. I shall return for an upgrades for my bicycle.
Courteous, knowledgeable staff. Quick turnaround on repairs. Honest answers to questions.
Greatest location for any and every thing BICYCLES
It’s a big deal when any place of business is open on a Sunday, & their prices be the nicest 😁
Twice I have walked in with a problem and they fixed my bike on the spot. They are friendly and fast and did a damn good job.
Extremely bad workers. They are not respectful to costumers. Don’t try it.
Because the best bike are here
Extremely helpful staff with a good selection of second hand bikes!
Very knowledgeable, and prices are fine. I would recommend.
Love the crew for a lot of yes since the opening decent work with a smile
Coolest and best bike shop in West Philly!
Worst experience of my life. I bought a bike here on 3/31/09. I came back to get the same flat back tire fixed on 4/2, 4/5, and 4/9. Every time I went back some snotty employee insisted it was my fault and tried to charge me to fix it. The third time I went, after enough yelling, they finally agreed to replace the tire but put on a bunch of steel support spokes that rattled like a toolbox. Around 4/15, the chain developed a kink and every time I hit it too hard it would skip a beat and I would fall off, I even dislocated my wrist. The bike I had before lasted me a year and a half and I never fell once. Then yesterday, the chain fell off the track 3 times in 20 blocks on my way to work. After I left work, the chain shattered and I fell going 20 on market. I broke a rib and made a one-inch blood spot on my toe.Today I returned it and another snotty girl tried to keep the $14 in tax I paid, even after I told her all the bs that bike put me through. She claimed that I probably drove it too crazily (as she was pulling off the broken chain) - it was a beach cruiser. So instead of refunding me and apologizing for their shotty craftsmenship that led to a broken bone, they insulted my ability to ride a bike and acted like they were doing me a favor by giving me what I paid for it. - Class acts!
Ive really enjoyed going to firehouse since ive moved nearby. at first i was a bit hesitant seeing as it was above satellite (guess why?) after going there a dozen times i found the staff helpful and realistic and amazingly non-condescending- a rarity.im putting together a bike that was all sorts of screwed up and theyve been super patient with me- not telling me some b.s. like “either fix it or buy a new one.) because everyone has the money for that.i digress- im writing this because today I went in to replace my tires. (i originally got the cheapest ones because... well i didnt have the cash for a nice set) 15 flats later i gave-in/up i got a set of marathons and not only do they give 10% off on messenger/delivery riders they “did not charge for labor because of your bad luck”.straight bloody awesome. go to this shop. make it your shop.
Accepts lots of quartersWorkers are really nice
