My tarmac sl7 had a recall on it. Many of the area stores didn’t seems to know the proper protocols for the recall, but Keswick was able to work with the store I originally purchased my bike from to get me sorted as quick as possible. They were well informed and up to date. Would highly recommend them to anyone in the area!
The person who helped me was extremely patient with me and knowledgeable about the inventory. He took the time to talk through options with me and made solid recommendations. Service was super quick and efficient!!Thanks for everything!
Keswick cycle is the best bike shop in the Philadelphia area. The inventory is top quality with excellent prices, and they also have a good range of less expensive bikes if that’s what you are looking for. The staff is super knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. They all love biking and know the products inside and out. Great experience!
The employees are very helpful and kind! Everyone was willing to answer my questions and even help with adjustments after my bike was repaired. I also felt very in-the-loop while my bike was in the shop - I got phone calls about updates and different options during the repair process.
I went to Keswick on a recommendation from a friend, and they did not disappoint! The wonderful and friendly staff had all the parts I needed for a repair and got it done very quickly. Im super satisfied and would recommend it to anyone else who needs their bike serviced.
Keswick went above and beyond with my tune-up, even cleaning my chain/gear shift when I only paid to get the brakes fixed. I was very happy with the final cost, and despite seeming very busy they finished the work only an hour after I dropped my bike off. It was riding as smooth as ever!
Awesome shop! They made me feel so comfortable and helped me out with such kindness. They have a ton of merchandise at varying price levels, and they have a nice repair spot in the back. All 4 guys I interacted with today were great. Will def be getting all my bike stuff here!
The service was awesome. The bike shortage has hit these shops hard but the staff here were still super kind and helpful. They also had the bike Ive been trying to track down for a few weeks. They helped with putting on the kickstand, gave me a bolt to secure my seat, and helped with the bar attachment I needed to secure a low step to a rack. I forget his name but the guy was also kind enough to come out to my car and help install me new bike rack. Major props to this store!!!!
Excellent customer service! Tyler is so helpful and knows the products. An expert at bikes. Great experience with Keswick overall. They take the time to address all questions and assist with getting our company needs met.
Great bike shop, the employees are helpful, friendly and knowledgable. They offer tune up and repair services as well as a decent variety of just about any biking good/item you might need.Last time I stopped in an employee helped me plan out a modification to my handlebars which I honestly would have been lost in attempting to accomplish on my own.
I walked in and they looked at my bike for free, gave me a lot of friendly advice, and fixes two things without charging me. I bought a nice bike lock and and I couldn’t be happier. Definitely coming back for all my bike needs!
I always take my bike to Keswick, its ready in no time and everyone is always so nice about helping and giving me advice. They also have really pretty and quality bikes that are probably much better than mine :)
I purchased my last bike from them. Everyone is friendly and helpful. No one has ever spoken to me in a condescending way like some other bike shops. The staff is also extremely knowledgeable about the bikes and products there. They let me test ride as many bikes as I wanted and were patient with my questions. I also have had good experiences getting tune ups here and purchasing accessories.
Excellent customer service, and quality merchandise. Great value all around.
Service was great and exactly on schedule! I got a text confirming my bike was ready, went in a few hours later and the bike was on the floor and ready to go. Since I work at Penn and am a bike commuter, the location of this shop is ideal for me. I have a steel frame Raleigh cruiser and they tuned it up wonderfully. Also, prices are excellent and the shop is well stocked with a variety of bike accessories (much better than some other bike shops in the city!). Huge additional benefit - the entirety of the staff is very friendly :)My mom also uses Keswick for both of her Specialized bikes and shes the one who referred me here (shes unlikely to leave a review but she loves the Keswick team!).
You could do what I did and try and fix your bike yourself, screaming in your apartment in frustration, or you could just go to Keswick. They adjusted my derailleur for just 27 bucks. When I went to pick up the bike they had even put a new cap on my air valve thing on my tube which had fallen off without me ever asking. Employees helpful and knowledgeable and into bikes.
My bike tune-up was a big job, but was beautifully done and finished on-time. Staff are friendly, professional, and low-key.
Service is top notch. I went to get my brakes recalibrated. I will come over again in future. Thank you guys.
Great staff, super friendly and they know their stuff.
Great one stop shop for all of your cycling needs! Amazing friendly staff. I certainly recommend you stop by and browse their selection of cycling goods.
Speedy repair / tune up
Nice clean place, knowledgeable, and good communication skills. Although there pricey., it was good .
I was a little skeptical of having a bike shop do my snowboard tune up for this season but I’m glad I did. The turnaround was fast at 48 hrs and probably would have even been 24 had the person who does their edge and wax not been on a day off. I imagine it’s pretty low volume for a bike shop in Philadelphia but thank you for keeping the board tune ups to someone who clearly knows what they’re doing. My board is far from new and I was cruising by everyone on all the mountain traverses. I’ll be a repeat customer for sure.
Lack luster customer service with little to no effort to resolve my issue. Made an appointment with Steve (The Manager) to have my cycle fixed after receiving a consultation. No communication UNTIL the week I was scheduled to pick up my fixed cycle, only to be told my cycle couldn’t be fixed, and then hung up on me. There are about two other locations in Philly alone, please do not waste your time, and hard earned money on this shop or steve.
Great customer service. Knowledgeable & friendly staff.
Keswick mechanics are the most knowledgeable and professional i have been able to find in Philadelphia. I had a set of complicated issues on my specialized bike and they were incredible & very responsive.
So I take my bike in and they give me a gave me a full consultation. They told me how much it would cost and told me I could pick it up in 2 weeks. So I made arrangements for two weeks then when it was time to pick my bike up 2wks later. I get a call telling me they cant fix it and Steve the manager got real nasty and hung up on me. Then when I came in Steve the manager told me it wasnt him but the mechanic Steve who hung up on me. So i guess being rude to customers is the norm. I took my a nearby shop a got it back a day later with no issue.
The folks at Keswick are totally awesome. They moved bikes to one central location for me to try out a few before making my final selection. Tyler and the team went above and beyond to make purchasing a bike really an easy and fun experience. Thanks so much Keswick team!
UPDATE - As you can see below they replied and said they DO work on the non-electric parts of ebikes, so I was able to get my brake and gears adjusted and some other questions answered, very happy with the service. They told me they service ebikes while a lot of other shops dont. Look at only folding ebike they had but wasnt what I wanted and they werent that helpful with sales questions, so bought one online and was going to use them for any repairs. Call today and they said they said the opposite that they DO NOT service ANY ebikes that they didnt sell. Update after reply by Keswick, I specifically explained it is a brand new bike never ridden think just the disc brake needs adjusted and the derailer and was told no, saw response will try again tomorrow.
Everyone was very nice, helpful, and knowledgeable. We had a great experience. Will definitely be returning for any further repairs or parts.
Beyond excellent service, with an exceptionally kind and attentive staff. I love going here for all my biking repairs and performance questions. I am never disappointed. :)
THESE GUYS ARE GREAT!!!!!! Ive come here around four times, and each time, both customer service and bike service have been phenomenal. These guys are professional, knowledgeable, and polite. Plus, things have been super affordable (sometimes they even do things I would expect to pay for for free) and every time I leave, I feel like I should leave a tip or something like that (lol). Cant recommend enough.
Came through in April being both picky and also having no idea what I was really looking for. Tyler was very patient with me and knowledgeable about the bikes. He ended up building a beautiful Specialized for me that fits me perfectly and hasn’t given me any issues (I bike about 50 miles a week). I’ve been to a couple bike shops where I felt like I was just a piece of furniture instead of an actual person and I definitely felt welcome and respected at this shop. Thanks Tyler!
Turn around time could have been quicker, but quality of work more than made up for it.
DOPE shop. Super friendly people and they get the job done fast n right!
Wonderful service! I am so happy with the refurbished schwinn I bought. Also, they kept my old bike going for years. Very helpful staff, even during the pandemic. Highly recommended! Thank you!
Following a recent ride on my Trek, the shifter for my front derailleur became jammed. Not sure where to turn, I had the good fortune to be referred to Keswick Bicycle Shop. As a novice, I was not sure what to expect but Graham quickly put me at ease. He was very knowledgeable about my bike’s components but needed to take the bike into the shop to accurately diagnose the problem. After a couple of days, he successfully restored life in my inoperable shifter. Graham is a phenomenal technician and I would strongly recommend his services to all bike owners.
Everyone is helpful and very friendly!
Called them up, bike was in stock and the rest was history. Friendly staff, willing to explain and assist. If they were not so far from me, I would definitely frequent their location. All in all great experience.
Unfortunately due to national bike shortage we didnt end up getting bikes from them, but every single time and every single person I talked to on the phone was incredible nice and helpful. Bike shops are super busy these days, but this places manages to still take their time with you and stays professional & friendly. Well definitely take our bikes here for service & accessories!
Such a great place to buy a bike! I emailed Keswick Cycle looking for a small adult bike in the $500-800 range. I got a response within minutes. The next day they told me they had something for me and I was able to buy it over the phone. Within the week I picked up my bike! I was able to test it out before I walked off with it. They even trimmed the seat stem for me because it was still a little high. It was a good fit for me and a very nice ride home.
The Manager Steve Who Shouldn’t be a manager by the way Told me he can help me out with my bike issues and concerns and even gave me a date that I can come get my bike now remind you he said it would take up to 2 weeks so the day of my pick up I got a phone call from the bike shop and one of the employees made it aware that they wouldn’t be able to fix my bike so I asked why would you guys wait until the day of to tell me about my bike you guys was ok letting me know how much and how long it would take to fix but didn’t do anything of that when it came down to letting me know they wouldn’t be able to fix it from there the problem grew even more the manager proceeded to give me horrible customer service and decided it was a funny joke to hang up the phone while we was having a conversation shows how much of a great Business Steve is running please don’t waste your time or money they won’t resolve or fix any issues you have.
These guys are great! Very helpful!
Very helpful friendly & knowledgeable staff. Great product selection. Made purchasing quick & easy.
Awesome shop. Fast service.
I had gone for a flat. Their covid-19 protocol is on point. They dont let anyone inside the store. You have to wait outside and an employee will come by to speak with you. I was told they will have my bike ready in 1-2 hours and they were punctual with the time. Reasonably priced.
I went to pick up my bike and the associates there were so helpful in making sure I was satisfied before I left. They made sure my seats were a good height for me, and because I was too short, we had to shave it down so now its at a good height for me. I am highly satisfied and will be back soon for my one month tune up
Great customer service, and lots of goodies.
Friendly staff. Great work. 5 stars!
Matt and Tommy are awesome, highly recommend this shop to anyone looking for work done on their bike. Wont be going anywhere else in Philly.
Can’t recommend them enough! They were very helpful over the phone and when I got to their University City location. The staff is extremely informed and made sure I understood the little tid bits about my bike. Amazing adherence to social distancing measures And making sure all of their customers feel safe interacting with them. Definitely get all of your bike needs from them!
Super friendly and informative staff with reasonable prices. Even during these rough times I was able to get a new bike and other things I needed with no hassle. Would definitely recommend if youre looking to get a nice new build.
Took a bike to get assembled and another for a tune up and received great service. The assembled bike was completed on time and the tune up was quick. The associates who assisted were friendly. I’m looking for a new road bike and will definitely go back when this pandemic is over to purchase one.
The staff is friendly, attentive, and well informed. The prices are reasonable and they have a good selection of items in stock.
Keswick is amazing! Every time I go they are incredibly kind, affordable and efficient. They have helped me for free on more than one occasion and really feel like your friendly next door neighbors!
Awesome customer service. The mechanic was able to help us fix multiple problems on two bikes and was gracious enough to not charge for the small fixes. Go here for seriously exceptional service.
Great shop with great service. They have kept my bikes and my kids bikes running all through the pandemic, while keeping the staff and us customers safe.
Super friendly and helpful staff. Everyone is very patient and always tries to give you the best deals for your personal needs. I wouldnt buy a bike anywhere else - I just love this place :)
I love this shop. Very convenient. Great location in University City. Staff is always nice, helpful, and informative. Has all the right equipment or accessories that I need. And a mechanical staff who can fix or tune up your bike in no time flat compared to others that make you wait for hours. There are other bike shops in the area but this is my favorite pit stop.NOTE: Pic of one of the staff putting in new paddles to my bike.Highly recommend.
Fast response and very helpful. Shout out to Sir Brian!!My carbon bike frame has broken seat tube, unfortunately they dont do repair for the carbon frame but he instructed me to call the Fuji company for warranty.
Everything you want in a bike shop. Ive been coming here for about 5 years and do not have much to critique. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, speedy and thorough servicing, wide selection of competitively priced accessories.Buying a bike off catalog was a relatively seamless experience. Ive been (thankfully) turned away on more than one occasion when they thought servicing an old or mangled bike wasnt worth my money. Graham (service manager/mechanic) has been a trusted adviser.
Pretty decent shop. Ive been coming to this shop for a while, given its proximity to my apartment and the neighborhoods I work in as a bike messenger. Theyre friendly, know their stiff and are super flexible and great to work on your bike! Theyre quick and carry a lot of great equipment. This shop definitely caterers to commuters and general cyclists and is not necessarily the place to go for racing or other specific brands of the sport; however, the staff has been willing to go above and beyond to work with me to get parts for my race bike when I need them! Overall, the products, services, and staff are great at this shop!
Great experience! Workers were knowledgeable and helpful. Bike works good cant wait to test it on the trail!!
Even during this time they are STOCKED!customer service is super new user and advanced rider, friendly. Informative and and personable.....
Great experience! I came Into the shop looking to have my tires replaced. No issue, great service and great prices for repairs.
Bought a new bizzzike
The employees are friendly and are great at repairing bikes. There is a good selection of bicycles and accessories. I have always been very satisfied with my visits to Keswick Cycle University City.
I had several questions and concerns about my bike and they were very helpful and very informative addressing my questions. Very fast and efficient with getting my bike back up to speed!! They also have a wide variety of different things you may need for a better and safer ride!! I appreciate everyones help!! You guys are awesome!! I def will be back!! Thank you!!
Great experience at Keswick bicycle as my girlfriend and I were shopping for our first road bikes. The staff are very friendly, extremely knowledgeable, and try to get you on the bike that fits your needs. Never pushy and answer any questions or concerns you have. They are willing to work with you but you must understand they are a long running shop that does not sacrifice quality for price. Id recommend Keswick to anyone looking for a bicycle!
Brian and his team were incredibly helpful through the process of purchasing a new bike and fitting me on it. They were very knowledgeable and answered multiple emails in a timely manner when I had questions about ideal sizes, styles and helped me find the best ride for an upcoming race.
I just purchased a road bike from Keswick cycle. Omg i love my bike so much you guys rock. Contacted store over the to ask a question got all my questions answered. I thinking the guy was the lead mechanic i want to say thank you and strava here i come with a new avg speed.
Theres a line because of COVID19. They were helpful and we were I. The shade. Its backed up a week at least for tune ups.
Last week I walked into the shop to repair my hybrid bike. I couldnt believe how busy they were. The sales staff was very friendly and welcoming. When I got to the service area I was greeted and taken care of immediately. They were very informative when it came to explaining the repair issue. While I was there I also bought a new helmet and new shoes. With their extensive inventory they were able to find me the model & size I needed. The sales staff is extremely knowledgeable. I was pleasantly surprised with the professionalism of the entire staff. Past experiences at other bike shops in the area have left me unable to find a shop that I could return to and recommend to fellow cyclists. If youre looking for the same thing, I suggest checking them out. Ill be there soon to buy my next new bike.
Great bike shop. I have brought in my bike for repairs 5-10 times. Every time, the mechanics have been friendly and knowledgeable, and have done the job quickly and professionally. The shop has a chill waiting area and sponsors a lot of group rides. The store also has a good stock of road bikes and helped my bf find the right bike and fit. Highly recommend Keswick!
They fixed the flat on my bike when I walk it in, without an appt. A spoke in the bike was repaired and the service was done quickly. I will continue to support this shop.
Great team here, awesome service, never let you down! Keep up the great work!
Every time I bring a bike in to get fixed( at least 2 now) they tell me it’s trash and that I should just get a different bike, and then they don’t work on it. I understand I don’t have the best bike but I can’t afford a better one so I don’t understand why they don’t just take my money and work on my bike. I honestly think it is because I’m black, I never notice any of the other costumers get the type of responses I do at the service counter.
Service this time was better than the last two time I been there. Thanks Ben
Great service, easy to deal with, the price is the price but I know that going in, could not be happier with my new bike!
Keswick has a very helpful and friendly staff. They had all the bike brands and models I wanted to try in search for a gravel-adventure bike. They were very accommodating in bringing in a bike from their other store so I could test ride.
I bought a bike rack from here yesterday. Even with the covid 19 policy procedures in place, they still did a great job customer service wise. Gave me options to choose from, even took the time to look up to see if it fits both of my vehicles. I used to pass the one in glenside every day going to work. Im glad I stopped here first.Fun Fact: I picked up one of the mangers in Glenside as a uber/lyft driver one time. I drove him to his truck at the dealership. He was cool too.Whether it be Glenside or Philadelphia (university city) Highly recommended!
NOTE: This bike store sponsors the triathlon team that Im a member of, but my review is trying to be as unbiased as possible.Even though I live in West Philadelphia, I never went into Keswick until a couple months ago. I should have visited earlier. The store is aesthetically pleasing and offers a large selection of bikes and accessories. If they dont carry something in store, they will order from their vendors, and in my case, my helmet and GPS watch were ready to be picked up in a week.Brian, the owner, is very responsive to emails and has put together a great staff. Theyre courteous and attentive, and willing to take the time to answer questions. Although I havent had my bike serviced here yet, Ive spoken with the mechs and theyre very knowledgeable and are true gearheads. The quoted prices and turnaround times seem reasonable too.All in all Im excited to finally see what Keswick is about, and Im looking forward to the next time Im there.
This is one of the best bikes shops in Philly. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful, and down-to-earth, never condescending. Its definitely a premium shop--no volunteers here, just professionals--but the costs are fair and certainly worth the money. Broad selection of parts and accessories: tubes & tires, racks, locks, seats, lights, helmets, pumps, shoes, shorts, gloves, pedals, chains, tools, repair kits, and of course, bikes. Delivery drivers should ask about a discount.
Came late in the day, and the mechanic stayed on the clock to set me up with a new tire, as I need my bike later that night. While he set up the bike, the guy at the register gave me a lot of helpful information on racks. No one was pushy on sales or upgrades, just very friendly folks.
I had a great experience getting service on my bike here. The employees were patient, helpful and kept me in the loop about what was going on. My bike is running smoothly thanks to the mechanics there and the sales people were very helpful with my questions regarding locks lights and riding gear. thumbs up.
Significant expertise and friendliness. I trust their advice--very helpful.
This place is great! It was easy to get help and everyone was chil af. They went out of their way to install all my accessories for free after buying a bike and made me feel at home. Great shop, and super happy to support this local small business. Keep it local! Trek ships directly to their store, I highly recommend these folks!
I hear about this place thank to my cousin Michael Me and my girl we’re looking for a mountain bike 🚵♀️ to ride together
The staff here is great. They are super friendly and very knowledgable. They are always happy to help
Someone stole the seat and post from my bicycle, and I called Keswick. They told me to come in anytime and with my bike so they could measure the post diameter. I went in around 6PM (they close at 7PM) and they immediately assisted me. The man who helped me was able to find me a new post, and attach a seat that I already had from a different bike. They charged me for the post, and a modest $5 for labor. They even put air in my tires for me. The whole thing took about 10 minutes and I was on my way. I highly recommend Keswick! Very helpful, friendly and efficient.
Great staff who are very knowledgeable about a great selection of products!
Just baught new race bike from Keswickcycle and they were so helpful with every aspect of the buying process. Couldn’t have went any smoother. There so helpful with setting bike up and helping choose right bike for me. Will never go any where else with my business.
I waited way too long to have my bike tuned up, but the mechanics at Keswick Cycle had it back up and running without a care in no time flat. A couple of months later, I took a spill on the trolley tracks and brought my bike in for a check-up. They took a look, made some minor adjustments, and sent me along free of charge! I will be coming back for all of my maintenance needs.
Great shop with very friendly and helpful staff. They sell some of the best bikes out there - Trek, Specialized, and Cannondale . Rob, the service manager, and his crew do great work. They are extremely honest and dependable. I drive over from Jersey to use them, and its worth it.
Brian and his team at both the Glenside, and University City locations were outstanding. From opening up conversation into buying what would be the most expensive bike Id own, to leaving his store with a bike that fit and rode like a dream, I felt appreciated, listened to, and never once taken for a ride. The service department that built the bike, the sales staff that got me really excited to get out and ride, and Brian who made sure the bike fit me flawlessly all gave me reasons to come back time and time again. If youre looking to speak with someone who will listen to your needs, and then select good equipment just for you, look no further than the guys at Keswick.
Went with a road bike that shifted nearly perfectly, except that I couldnt shift into granny gear while riding up steep hills. Had the bike tuned up and had brake pads replaced.Returned a few days later because shifting problem persisted. Mechanic adjusted chain tension while I waited and had me try it. Now I had a brand new problem: chain fell off when shifting, within two blocks of store. He readjusted a few times and had me try it again each time always with the same result. After an hour I decided to leave bike a second time for them to experiment with without me.Came back two days later in response to their claim that bike was finished, payed for repair, and chain fell off immediately upon leaving store. Left bike a third time, and returned two days later in response to their claim that bike was repaired. They assured me it was fixed and that they couldnt reproduce the problem. I paid again, and chain fell off again immediately upon leaving store. Gears werent crossed or anything when chain fell off. Left bike a fourth time and they told me that they needed to replace bent gear.Returned fourth time in response to their claim that gear was straightened and that they couldnt reproduce problem. Payed for repair and chain fell off within two blocks of store.Tomorrow Im taking my now unusable bike elsewhere. Not sure what Ive paid so far. $200?
I am modifying my previous review following a direct discussion with the owner Brian. He called me on the phone (he had my number since I am a frequent customer) and politely asked me about the bad review and what happened. He wanted to learn why I was not satisfied with the service. I explained him my reasons and he was very understandable At the end he offered me to take care of the repair for no cost (broken spokes). I think this demonstrate the owners attention to customer satisfaction.PREVIOUS REVIEW:This shop is overpriced and I had multiple issues with fixing my bike. The expected price is always higher. The opening hours are very unconvinient, since they dont open until 11 AM, therefore it is impossible to leave the bike before going to work. Once I was in front of the door at 10 AM and I saw them working inside but they wouldnt even let me drop the bike and told me to come back at 11. Pretty rude.Unfortunately it is the only bike shop in the area.
I had an issue with my bike and it turns out Keswicks repairs would cost me at least $100 (its a brand new bike!). Checked with another bike shop and it turns out it was just a loose bolt. Cost for repair: $0. A priceless reminder to always check with another source! (Check with The Park Bike and Skate on Lancaster over these guys!)
