Today, Regina helped me pick out frames suitable for my face, assisted with salvaging my old lenses while I wait for the new prescription, and she spent time walking me through the details of all my options. I was just in. From the moment I stepped in, I felt welcomed by the admins behind the desk and the tech that started me off was so kind and polite (sorry I forgot his name). Dr. Kuhar was easy going but professional and made everything comfortable. Regina was awesome and patient. She helped me find my perfect first glasses. At 53 I’m finally ready to get serious about wearing glasses full time. Overall a very pleasant experience. I would highly recommend!

About 4 years ago i got my first pair of glasses from Kuhar Vision with progressive lenses. After a few days of wearing them, I wasnt sure i could get used to them and considered just getting Bi-focal lenses. Deanne was very nice and advised me to try them for a longer period of time as i would eventually progress to these type of lenses. Her advice was spot on and Im so glad she took the time to explain why I should give them more time. Best advice I could have received at the time and 4 years later Im so thankful she was there to discuss this with me.I would also like to mention that my wife and I dealt with Tina on our last couple visits and she was superb with getting us glasses and sunglasses ordered and fitted correctly and was very patient and understanding of our needs. Our visits to Kuhar Vision have been worth more than a 5 star rating due to their knowledgeable and caring personnel.

Very efficient and professional service to the point

Dr. Kuhar was very patient & accommodating when I brought my elderly mother in for an exam. He took his time when conducting her exam & when explaining her options for glasses. The office staff is very friendly. The office itself is very clean.

Both doctors there are great! They really care about their patients and go above and beyond to make sure all concerns are addressed. My daughter loved seeing Dr. Vegara for her kindergarten exam. I got my glasses from here and have received so many compliments on them which hasnt happened with my previous glasses.

I have been a patient of Dr. Kuhars for nearly 20 years, and I recommend him highly. He is professional, personable and gives the quality care you cannot find at a retail optical chain. The office is clean, bright and welcoming. The staff is very helpful and attentive. On my last visit, Claudette took her time in helping me pick out frames that were very flattering for my face. They also have a wide variety of designer sunglasses that I enjoy browsing while in the waiting room.

Our whole family goes to Dr. Kuhar. We have been patients of his for many years beginning back at his former location. In our family I have the most issues myself with my eyes/contacts/glasses. Dr. Kuhar has ALWAYS been very patient with me and always listens to my concerns. He has taken great care of everyone in our family. The office staff is second to none. They are always professional, courteous and friendly. Kudos specifically to Maureen who always goes above and beyond for me and whatever my emergency might be. Highly recommend the practice to everyone!

My family & I have been patients for a while, but we will NEVER return due to their lack of professionalism & customer service from the office manager Deanne! In January I had my yearly exam & ordered contacts. In order to utilize my full insurance benefits I wanted to max out the $150 allowance. The front desk staff said she would order enough boxes that would be covered. The next day I received 6 boxes of contacts.....Fast forward 2 months later & I received a call from the office manager Deanne telling me that I have a balance of over $100 that needs to be paid. I was totally shocked & unsure what she was referring to. She explained that the staff made a mistake & thought the contacts were a lower price and she ordered me too many. She then asked how I would like to handle the balance as if I caused the issue. I was irritated, but had an idea that I wanted to present although I didn’t see how this whole fiasco was my issue. I explained that luckily I hadn’t opened all of the boxes & I could return half of them. She said that would work, but added until I returned them I would still have a balance on my account. The very next day I returned the contacts I also let her know that the new total was less than my $150 allowance so they would need to return the overage / correct the claim they filed with my insurance company. She said they would do so. I proceeded to tell her that this whole situation was not professional to call the patient as if this was my fault & to tell me I have a balance. As the customer if they made a mistake 2 months ago why are they even involving me, they should have figured it out. Ms Deanne was very nonchalant as I was talking to her so I proceeded to tell her that myself nor my family would ever return. She never took ownership nor apologized. A simple apology for my inconvenience would have made a big difference. The worst part is I waited a while to see if they would do the right thing, but they did not! I contacted my insurance company & just as I suspected, Kuhar never corrected the claim so they were overpaid while I was inconvenienced. Very ethical... I again will NEVER return due to such poor service from management.

We have been going here for a couple of years. The doctors are very nice and the support staff is amazing. We always get our glasses quickly and they go out of their way to help with my sons glasses. I would definitely recommend them to anyone in the area.

Good doctor - terrible service! Its been over a month and I still dont have my glasses. They blame my insurance but Ive ordered glasses from another vision center before with the same insurance and got the glasses in a couple days. The doctor did a great job with the eye exam but his support staff is amateur at best with little understanding of how to inform patients about what to expect with new glasses. The selection of frames is also very limited. I will never go there again.

The doctor was great but does not listen well at their patients clearly. also charged me for extra test that I did not ask for and after the fact I asked for a refund and got it the lady was rude and talked bad in front of me with another worker. I was insulted for them misinformation, just only trying to get extra cash.

Weve been going here for years, back to when it was next to what use to be the Dominicks. I went for glasses, contacts, eye problems, and after-care for Lasik. My husband has gone, and my kids.Ive seen two of the doctors there, Kuhar and Thai. We always got news straight like when it was clear Id need an adjustment after Lasik or when I had a bad eye infection. Theyve told me things about the tests they do that no one has ever discussed before in my life. You get a very thorough exam which is way more than just reading letters off a card. The location they moved to a few years back is close to me and very nice.

I was called by my sons school informing me that he suffered an eye injury during recess. They tested my sons vision at school and he had blurry vision in his right eye. He could not see past 5 feet.I immediately took my 7 1/2 year old son to Edward Hospitals ER in Plainfield on August 29, 2013. We arrived at 1:00 pm. We waited at the ER check in desk for five minutes before someone arrived to check us in. A nurse came from the back chewing food and eventually checked us in.After giving a brief explanation of my sons injury and how it was sustained, she did a quick vision test and took us to our room by the nurses desk. She took his blood pressure and said the Dr. would be in shortly. 15 minutes later the admissions person came in to get my information for billing. As I was sitting there I could see 3 nurses at the desk just talking and eating. In fact, all they were doing was going to a back area and then coming back to the nursing station chewing. I assumed we were interrupting their lunch time.Shortly after getting showed to the exam room, an ER administrator came in to try and get me to sign up for some type of prescription plan so my son wouldnt have to wait to have his medication filled at the pharmacy. At this point no exam or treatment had been given to my son. I told her I wasnt interested since at this point there wasnt even a treatment plan put in place.I saw a male doctor come out of the back room and then immediately go back in. He did this four times. At no time did he, or any other doctor, come into the room to check on or examine my son. I should note that he had sustained an injury to his head and eye which brought us there in the first place.A different administrator came back @15 minutes later to bring back my license and insurance card. My son and I waited in the exam room for 50 minutes - still never seeing a doctor. I told the administrator I was leaving and taking my son to his pediatrician whos office was located across the parking lot. When we were leaving to go to the other doctors office an ER doctor my child had seen before was sitting up front by the door talking to a nurse.I took him to his pediatrician from Pediatric Health Associates at @ 2:00 pm and was told by a nurse on staff that they were to busy to see him.I then called his eye doctor, Dr. Chad Kuhar, whose office in located in Shorewood, IL. His office was closed so I called his emergency number. Dr. Kuhar met us at his office and examined my son. To our relief my sons vision is ok but he will have a good shiner and his eye might experience some swelling. I am very grateful to Dr. Kuhar for coming in on non-office hours and showing me what good medical treatment is all about.It appears from this experience that Edward ER staff needs to get some education and training in meeting the medical needs of the patients who come to them seeking their treatment. You can be sure I will not be taking my children to this facility again. I also plan on obtaining my childrens medical records from their pediatrician and start the search for a doctor who will never turn my child away in a time of emergency.
