I have made several purchases at RAC and the owners and staff are awesome people. They are friendly, helpful and know their business. I am always treated first class and every weapon or accessory I have purchased was quick, simple and affordable. They are fair with pricing and are just good people as far as I can tell. I love to gain Knowledge, that is exactly what I got when I walked in and was looking at guns. I was educated on each one I picked up, how it shoots, where you feel it the most, to make sure it fits your hand this way, this is to small, this was too big. I also go to enjoy spending time with Heather and Rick while taking their CCW class, so fully worth the cost, we laughed and learned no seen things through a different approach than we normally do.

Purchased my Glock 19 gen 5 from this store awhile, fast and easy process as it should be. I called other local gun stores during the time and they all were charging $50 more than what RAC was selling it for. I also often like to swing by the store just to check on ammo availability with my family and never felt unwelcome.

Ive taken 3 CCW classes and this one was by far the best. Dont be intimidated by the instructors initial classroom portion. My wife who took the class with me was very intimidated at first because she only has a basic understanding of firearms. You cant be afraid to be given an honest critique on your firearm or ability. They are extremely patient especially with people who probably arent even ready for the class. They are very helpful and if you have a basic understanding of your firearm and marksmanship, you will be able to pass the class.

RAC guns and ammo is an amazing store. The owner and the staff there are extremely friendly and helpful. I love rare firearms and they had an amazing selection. I would recommend to everyone to see this store before going anywhere else. Avoid the big box stores and support your locals. When I purchase my next firearm, it will be through them. RAC offers an excellent CCW class for all experience levels, I had been through a couple in the past where they just went through the motions. RAC actually provides useful firearms training as part of the class. I would highly recommend their CCW class!

Absolutely amazing CCW class I took there with Rick about two weeks ago. I feel lucky to have taken a class with someone as experienced as him. He doesn’t sugarcoat anything and if you pay enough attention it feels like he’s giving you a hundred tips a minute worth of real life scenarios and applications of your firearm as well as the law. On top of that the gun shop has amazing gear, firearms, and accessories I haven’t been able to find anywhere else in town. So if you’re a local like myself that likes supporting local businesses and hates waiting two weeks plus for tactical gear and gun accessories shipments. I highly recommend you give this gun shop a visit as well as take this CCW which is just one of many classes offered here.

I really love the husband and wife team Rick and Heather. They are super knowledgeable and very helpful in anything you want to know! I am super confident in the suggestions that they provided me in guiding me to my first firearm purchase! I am super happy with all the service I have received from them. Took my CCW class from them and really loved how thorough it was. The CCW class feels like 60% fear mongering 40% guns and gun safety. I understand the instructor trying to be “blunt” and “straight forward” that’s great but it felt like it could of been focused more on guns and gun safety in general instead of trying to convince people that you’ll be in a shoot out everytime you go to Walmart hahaha. However the class was very informative, and they give you good information about the legal side of stuff. Ive shopped here before and they were very helpful trying to find the parts I needed. Cool place overall .Ps. Don’t argue with people who leave bad reviews, it looks petty as hell even if the customer was wrong or they were CA resident 😂

I came in here for the first time 2 weeks ago looking for a new compact 9mm. I am glad I did. The service was on point and the employees were super knowledgeable.i thought it was really cool that they actually took the time to find out what I wanted and didnt try to sell me on something I wouldnt be happy with.the store had people in it and still the guy behind the counter made time for just me.There inventory was large and the store was clean and organized. I came in a little after 12 PM Filled out all of my paperwork for my background check. By 130 I had my 9mm in hand. Im sure that was just luck but it was much appreciated. The whole experience was top notch and I will be going back soon to purchase a few more toys. Hey rac... thanks you guys are awesome!! Seriously buy your guns here they will take care of you.

Its probably about 3or 4 times that I attempt to go to this place but its always close its says 6pm close but more like 4pm they better checked there hours its not a worth of driving.

A friend and I joined the RAC CCW class this weekend. Rick and Heather are very knowledgeable and passionate about what they teach. Not only do they practice and preach the safety required for responsible gun owners, theyre determined that everyone in the course fully understands how to handle and operate their weapon. This isnt just a class to be approved by the state to be able to conceal a handgun, its the mentality to understand certain situations and the magnitude of responsibility that comes with carrying a concealed weapon.

Excellent CCW class! Extremely informative and empowering. Im a small lady, and have previously been aggressively approached by strangers and have felt unsafe when Ive been by myself in the Reno/Sparks area. Post absorbing Rick and Heathers instruction at their CCW Class, I am far more prepared to maintain my safety in this backwards world. Rich and Heather are very talented instructors, teach in a situation based style for more concrete information retention, and made this experience priceless! Im looking forward to taking their Reality CCW Class soon as a next step.One thing to note...if you dont have much experience handling and firing your handgun, consider the New Shooter Class before taking the CCW Class as you will need to be comfortable handing your personal protective firearm.

Im the kind of person that has taken a variety of classes and I would leave them due to lack of leadership and experience in the field. I took the CCW class at RAC and not only was I not disappointed but I was blown away at the level of knowledge and professionalism I experienced. Great CCW class. Rick and Heather are a wealth of knowledge regarding the process. The class is very well organized and Rick does a good job going over information so the test isnt bad. If you have a basic understanding of guns and have shot before you will pass the written and practical tests.

Simply called this store and asked if they have any Glock, 3rd generation mags for sale. The gentleman who answered the phone didnt even know what i was talking about and apparently thought that all glocks are made exactly the same... not going to conduct business with a ppace that does not even know the difference between a gen 3 and gen4 mag.

I went to the ccw class on 7-18-20 on a luck chance of having a cancellation for that day.After I had told Heidi I would be back in Arizona by August which is when the next class would have been available. They were helpful on getting me the spot. I have a law enforcement background of five years in Corrections with state of Arizona and then to the police departments in Phoenix area. I have dealt with a lot of Instructors some really good some really bad.I have to say I was impressed with their way of handling and explaining things to people who you could see were not comfortable with firearms at all.Some instructors would just shrug them off and fail you out. He did not pull punches on directions made them very clear and easy for those not used to ranges understand them.In short if you are looking for a pl;ace to take this course or any other courses in firearms go see these folks they have knowledge and they have he skills to make even new shooters feel more comfortable while learning and hey keep it interactive as well .Best for the money all day long

Rick and Heather are awesome instructors, Very Straight forward they will call you out on your BS specially when it comes to handling your firearm incorrectly, which me and my wife loved the most, because knowing other people in class specially strangers handling guns a round you was very sketchy, But both instructors made us feel very safe. P.S DONT GO TO WALMART WITHOUT Rick 😂

Owners Rick and Heather are awesome! There is a gun store right by my house, but I travel 15 mins to RAC for all my firearm and ammo needs. Why? The store by my house was out of stock of ammo, decent customer service, and wanted to charge me a build fee to install a simple part. Rick installed my part free of charge, made me feel welcome, and was stocked up with the ammo I needed. Ive also taken my CCW class at RAC and cant recommend enough. A must have for every new gun owner. Support Rick and Heather! They deserve your business.

Definitely recommend RAC! I purchased a Glock and everything went smooth. After being rudely turned down at another local firearm store, RAC owners worked hard and I received my firearm in a timely manner in the middle of an epidemic where everything is in short supply. Not sure how to rate them. They have a good selection of pistols and AR parts. They try to be helpful but hover over you. They always make me feel like they think Im going to steal something. If you dont hold the gun over the counter, they freak out. Much better gun stores out there.

Rick and Heather are both very helpful and knowledgeable!! I stopped into their store for the first time because I was looking for a 9mm pistol. I had a particular weapon in mind but after talking to Rick and Heather I learned that the weapon that I thought I wanted was not a good choice for me. They both highly recommended the new Springfield Hellcat which is a newer handgun and I didnt know much about it so I went home and researched it. After researching it for several hours, I found that it was a fantastic choice for me and I was so glad that they took the time to educate me on this new handgun. I went back the next day and my husband and I both ended up buying guns and ammo from them. They are the only store willing to take the time to do the background checks right now with all the COVID-19 stuff going on. I also signed up for their CCW class for the end of May. My brother and I took the CCW here. Rick is very knowledgable and takes the class and safety very serious, which is appreciated. They also have very competitive prices. The Saturday CCW class was basically all day, but very informative and I enjoyed it.

Would be cool if updated hours on here they actually close at 4pm not 6 wasted time and gas coming from silver springs

I took the ccw class. The guy talked about more what was cool and stupid than actually educating. He violated his own rules on more than one occasion. He talked down to his students and is incredibly rude. I can not speak about his shop. But the class was a joke.

Great CCW class! I bought a holster at L.A.G Tactical and they recommend RAC for classes due to RACs knowledge and background. This class was very direct and straight to the point. I highly recommend an intro to handguns class and plenty of range time before taking their CCW. RAC offers plenty classes from beginners to advanced and a very clean facility. Safty is a big concern here and they will call you out if you are not being safe! The one thing I really loved about this place is that they are not afraid to voice their opinions👍🇺🇲 Rick and Heathers class definitely opened my eyes! Also I didnt realize how dangerous Walmart can be!!!

Rick is a great instructor. No BS and to the point. And they know their stuff. Really glad I went. I’m not sure but I think they are the cheapest around too. They know their stuff too. Trains military and law enforcement. I plan on taking other advanced teaching. Looking forward to learn from them.

Rick and Heather made this process safe, educational, and continuously engaging. I feel like I’ve become more comfortable with safely handling a firearm due to their instruction. Love the no-bullsh*t attitude present in the class while still being able to joke around/have fun and keep everything safe.I found myself wanting to take more classes with them after realizing how standing still while shooting wont cut it in any real scenario. Also you learn that training should be a continued thing and not just one 8 hour class and a 4 hour class every 5 years.Recommending this class to all of my friends looking to get their CCW.

I took the ccw class and could not be happier. Rick and Heather are extremely knowledgeable with emphasis on safety. They have no problem letting you know when you are doing something that is unsafe, even deadly. Carrying concealed is a big responsibility and I appreciated their teaching style. Because of it I felt alot more confident once the class was over. If you successfully pass this class it is not because you paid to get a certificate, it is because you demonstrate that you understand the responsibility of concealed carry. I have already signed up for more classes, that is how much I value their knowledge.

Rick was the only gun shop owner who was interested in helping me find a hard to get rifle for a good price. They always help me out no matter how difficult what Im looking for is to find. They are the only place in town that gives A+ service every time and gets what I want and not just trying to just sell me what they have instead. 08.21.21 Update, New address, even more selection, if possible.I kind miss the old locale, but the new 1410 Prater address easily surpasses in selection. Youve heard of the term wall of sound?Imagine Wall of Glock. Thats right. An entire fully stocked including Apex tactical, section for all your firearm wants and maybe for me, some stuff I didnt want but now want. Selection bordering on the esoteric. Rifle build kits, get everything at one stop. Im used to walking in and having Rick stare at me, hes not upset thats his personal demeanor, now youre greeted by stafff. Knowledgable staff. That know what they have, they dont interfer with your browsing but in looking for high brass #6 shotshells the guy rattled off what they had and hadnt. At least 4 varieties of 10mm Auto. Prices are the same. I thought the ammo prices beat the online case lot prices and acted on a case of some great stuff.Dont be like me and try to grab a sandwich then shop, thats about the only thing I can think of that hasnt improved. Indoor range? Coming soon!Try before you buy! Or just try, and dont buy, but if you ask me a certain Reno indoor range has been getting too big for their britches. Their high flautn way has turned off more than one begining shooter. I wish RAC all the best at the new 1410 Prater location!Like a burger without a bun. Imagine a place where you walk in and, everything you see you like.Amazing selection. No filler. They wont try to sell you a tent or a frying pan. Unless you want to shoot it. Ordered a gun online wish the website would have said something about it having to be shipped to the store as I was looking forward to picking up the gun. Outstanding!Ive taken training courses like this before and was very disappointed with the lack of depth.Rick has been there, done that, and not just read a bunch of stuff online. He knows the book, the equipment, the physics, people and the world we live in.If I had to describe Rick and Heather I would use words like Brilliant, articulate, cleaver, informative, and not people that are just going through the motions.I want to take every class they offer, and will recommend them to my friends.Shawn in Reno

Very fun and informative CCW class. The instructors should be taken seriously and they will teach that carrying a firearm is not for everyone. This class is not for sensitive people, and if you are one please don’t consider taking this class and carrying a firearm. Rick and Heather take their jobs very seriously and will kick you out if you fail to understand simple gun handling procedures. They are badass people and they do not care if you dislike them because they are here to teach real life scenarios and help you get through them.Pay attention, be safe and you will pass. If not walk with your head down through the set of doors you walked in and know you’re not ready to conceal carry.

There CCW class was very informative. This was the second CCW class I took and I have to say this is by far the most informative of the two.

I just took the CCW class . Great class.I work as a patrol officer and was not happy with the person in my class the flashed me with her LOADED weapon, she was told several times to watch the pointing of her weapon. I understand she did not pass the class but thats a good thing. She needs to learn what a weapon is and what its for...Just because the law says you have a right to carry does not mean you should. Learn the weapon, shoot the weapon, learn all you can ...then maybe you think about carrying.I myself have 10 yr in the military, several yrs in law enforcement, even yrs doing armed security work .The owner and staff of RAC made me feel welcome and teach a good class. I will be bring my family to get classes form them.

I took my CCW class at RAC last weekend and couldnt be happier. Rick is extremely knowledgable and serious about firearm safety. I am glad I learned from him. I came to the class with a 1911 and thought it was too big to be a concealed weapon, Heather recommended the H&K VP9 and let me rent it for the class. Wow what a great recommendation! I came back in the next weekend and purchased one for myself. Oscar helped me with the paperwork and was very patient and helped me with any questions I had. This shop is great and the owners and staff treat you like family. I will be recommending it to everyone. Thanks RAC you guys rock!!!

I have bought a lot of things from Rick & Heather and taken their awesome CCW class. They are both very knowledgeable about firearms and have great prices. To any trying to discredit Rick as a CCW instructor they need to understand that he has spent a lot of time with a gun in his hands and used to do shooting competitions. He knows his stuff and is very adamant about self defense. But this does not mean he will allow you to endanger other people. A CCW class is not a guaranteed pass.
