This is a good shop. This was a simple wheel alignment, but they got the job done and the staff are friendly. Misty at the front desk is wonderful, and makes for a very pleasant and easy experience! Im giving only 4 stars because I didnt ever have a conversation with whoever did the work, which Im used to, but maybe not necessary for just a wheel alignment. Regardless, Id recommend it, and Ill be going again. Thank you!

I took my 1997 F-250 diesel in to have it safety checked and any needed repairs completed. I chose Certified Automotive because I read they have a good diesel mechanic. I am very happy with the work and service they provided. I was updated on everything they found and given an explanation of the work needed. The repairs were reasonably priced. I am looking forward to knowing I can safely tow my trailer and horse this year.

New to Salem, I was a little nervous about finding a trustworthy mechanic. Luckily, I found this place. I was having intermittent engine trouble and they assessed and repaired the issue.They were upfront about the costs (even came in under the quote) and had no problem talking and answering all my questions until I was satisfied. Worked incredibly quick and both front desk workers were nice, professional, and incredibly easy to works with. The lot is very secure and easy to access without being a problem for unsavory foot traffic.All in all, they will likely be my go-to for as long as I am in town. I have only positive things to say about them and their employees.

I was fortunate enough to find these folks. I needed a simple A/C discharge. They offered a great price and completed the service the next day. I had a pleasant experience when dropping off/retrieving my keys and will certainly be coming back soon.

I was referred to Certified Auto Repair by, Joe, a person I meet at Whites on Commercial, where I meet some guys and have breakfast. I explained to Joe, I was told I needed a new cam, which is the cost of an engine and recommended I junk the car. Eric, felt the problem was in the timing belt and I also needed new rotors. Have never gone to a mechanic. Have always fixed things myself. Blown away at how great the communication was and never felt like this team was trying to SELL me anything. When doing a full tune up of our Suburban they ran into a few problems and gave their honest opinion on how long they think it will last and if it was severe enough to replace or not. Great customer service and very happy with the outcome. Drives smoother than when I bought it!

This mechanic came highly recommended by my family but they totally tried to rip me off. Now I’m worried my family has been getting ripped off all these years. They tried to charge me literally twice as much for a repair just cause they didn’t feel like dealing with a Lexus. They weren’t even going to put in a Lexus part. They wouldn’t even try to negotiate to come in between the dealership prices. Very lazy and untrustworthy. Every other mechanic said it wasn’t hard to complete and couldn’t believe what he tried to charge me for it.DO NOT RECOMMEND

Just had an oil change. They check everything over at this time and let me know if anything else is wrong.I always have good experiences there and feel they are trustworthy.

I called roadside assistance because something was going on with the clutch in my car. Not knowing the area, I Googled a nearby mechanic so I could have my car towed. I had talked to a guy (Im presuming the owner) telling him of my situation. He said I could have my car towed there. In the meantime, I was trying to figure out what to do because I couldnt afford a costly repair and obviously couldnt keep my car there indefinitely. The evening that my car was towed there, I ended up speaking to the same guy from earlier who saidhe did an inspection of my car and then started listing off all sorts of things that were wrong with my car. He struck me as being rude and brusque but, I ignored it, as I wasnt sure what my course of action would be. And I had the feeling he was just trying to get money out of me because Im a woman. That was a Friday. On Monday, I called as promised, to let him know what my decision would be, as he had told me on Friday he could fix my car (of course!) but he wasnt a storage facility. (Duh!) I let him know I couldnt afford the repairs and Id be coming to pick my car up but, I couldnt get it until the next day (Tuesday) as I live almost an hour away and my uncle was going to help me but, he wasnt available until Tuesday. His demeanor became even more rude than normal and he suddenly tells me I cant take my car without paying the (almost) $50 diagnostic charge. He had not mentioned this Friday when we spoke. Nonetheless, I went there Tuesday to pick up my car but, I didnt have the money, as it was almost payday. When I got there, I asked if I could pay $20 that day, and come back Friday with the rest, when I got paid. He said his computer couldnt take partial payments (SMH! Im not dumb) but, I could pick up my car Friday when I had the full amount. After explaining I had driven nearly an hour, and I was trying to get my car off the property since hed made it clear hes not a storage facility, he still refused to take a partial payment. I was trying to be reasonable but, finally pointed out that hed illegally diagnosed my car and Id be taking it because he couldnt charge me for something I didnt agree to. I went out and got my car and my uncle helped me get it off the property. He basically talked himself out of money and his dishonesty, underhandedness and deceit does not make for good business practices.

I brought in my 2002 Chevy Silverado for some extensive work that included 5-6 line items. One of these jobs was a rear main seal of which needed to be replaced. This was an all day job that involves dropping the transmission.I was expecting to leave the truck over night. Started taking our 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan here earlier this year. They have been able to get the A/C working again at a very reasonable cost and take care of some other issues that develop with a 17-year old vehicle. They have been willing to work with me to find the most cost-effective way to take care of things. Im glad I learned about them.

I had them install an alternator that I bought. They discovered the alternator was broken and took the initiative to obtain a replacement unit from the company that I bought the unit from. They even gave me a ride to and from work. The staff was friendly and transparent. Highly recommended.

Dishonest company and employees/owner. Not respectful at all. Many times myself and family/friends have taken vehicles in only to find out what was quoted and mentioned as the problem was really not. Would not recommend this mechanic for anyone. There are honest respectable mechanics in town but they charge more. Worth the price to go to someone who knows vehicles and wont have you coming in repeatedly due to them not correctly diagnosing and fixing the issue the first time

Friendly people & cozy environment but they me quoted me $575 parts & labor for my rear brakes, rotors & calipers. A little over $300 was for parts, called a few local Salem stores & found the parts for $220. On top of that Tire Experts here in Salem quoted me $320 for the same job with the same quality parts I wanted. Not to mention they charged me $45 for the inspection but Tire Experts did it for free. Not a bad place I just feel like the need to re-evaluate their course of business & competitive marketing.

My 2003 Acura broke down the other day and Certified is a AAA certified shop. They informed me what the issues was and gave me a fair price for the repair.. Aaron my mechanic was very kind and patient with my lack of automotive knowledge. Nice to be treated with respect. Love this shop.

Certified Auto Repair is amazing! They have the best customer service Ive ever had at a auto shop. I was looking for honest shop to take my car in and found this place. I came in for a oil change and they quickly started working on my car. The mechanic that was working on my car came in after he was done and explained in detail what he did, and he checked my brakes, timing belt and vacuumed out my car for free! Im glad I found this place and will be using them for any future car repairs. They will even pick my car up for me while Im at work, do the repair or oil change, then drop the car back off at my work! Ive never heard of a repair shop doing that and shows how much they value their customers and their time.

I have been using Certified Automotive for almost a decade and have always received great service. Since I know nothing about motors I always show their invoices to my uncle who was a big-time auto mechanic for 25+ years and he assures me they are being very fair and honest. My vehicles have always run great, I have nothing but good things to say about Certified Automotive.

Ive had them do everything from replace my transmission to simple oil changes and they nail it every time. With the major stuff theyve gotten it done a day or two ahead of schedule and been perfectly pleasant about it too. Being a small business owner I really appreciate and notice the customer service and these guys take care of it all.

My windshield wiper was having issues and not working properly. I called around a few places and only got all this runaround about having to pay an hourly fee just for diagnosing the issue. Certified Automotive Repair said they would take a look at it for free. After sitting 5 minutes in the waiting room Ben came back, and said we fixed the issue. Not only was it fixed promptly they said the service was free of charge. Best experience Ive ever had with any mechanics shop.

I had gone to Certified for years with nothing but amazing things to say; however, that changed with the new ownership a couple of years back. Most recent issue: After having a new (used) steering column install in my Honda the summer of 2011, I discovered less than a month later that the clock spring (C.S.) wasnt working (I was told this by the shop manager when I later inquired about the problems I was experiencing) and, therefore, neither my horn nor my cruise control (and I have yet to discover what else) worked. When I spoke to the shop manager a couple of months after that (when I had a oil change), I was told that he would look for one (C.S.). This was documented in my repair file.Each time thereafter when I went in for service work or repairs, I asked if one had been located and I was told he was still looking for one. Finally, in August of 2012, when I was making an appt to have some repairs done on my car door, I inquired of the new shop manager about the search for the C.S.. He verified that it was in my record that they were looking for one but said he would have to have it checked out to make sure that was what I needed.The day I went in and had the door worked on (which was, in itself a project and greatly lacking in customer service - including lying to me and leaving greasy fingerprints all over the upholstery on my car door where the repair was done-I have pictures), he informed me (after the door work was done) that it was indeed the clock spring that was the culprit and that it would cost me about $400 to have it repaired.I reiterated to him that there had been no problems with the C.S. prior to the work on the steering column, that I had been told that the shop was looking for one to replace the defective one (w/in the 3 mo. warranty window), and I pointed out that the mechanic who had done the work should have checked the equipment (particularly the safety equipment, like the horn) after the work was done and prior to the vehicle leaving the shop to make sure everything was working well.I was told by this shop manager that, because the work was done so long ago (about a year), they did not consider the shop to be liable for the repair, despite my reminder that I had been inquiring each time I came in and had been told each time that there was an effort being made to locate one. This shop manager also told me that the previous manager had lied to me, that a C.S. was a simple item to order (at which point I interjected that I had been coming there for over 9 yrs. and the previous managers integrity was one of the main reasons - there had also been a different owner for quite some time after I starting going there).When I requested to speak with the current owner (who is usually on site), I was told he was off-site and it was unknown what his schedule was or when he would be available to discuss this issue. When I ask the manager if he had passed on my message from a call earlier that day that I would be wanting to speak to the owner when I came in to pick up my car after the door repair, he said he had and, after being challenged on the statement that he didnt know the owners schedule, told me flat out that the reason the owner wasnt there at that time was because he did not want to talk to me about the C.S. issue so he had left for the day..

Broke down on Interstate 5, on a Sunday afternoon. They got me into the shop first thing in the morning, pulled the car in right away, order the part right in front of me I needed a new alternator. They said they were really busy, but would move me right up to the front because of my situation. My kids 911 were back at the hotel room waiting for me, so they gave me a ride back to the hotel and pick me up when the car was done two and a half hours later. Certified Automotive Repair is absolutely unbelievable and I cannot thank them enough. I dont ever write reviews about anyting but I figured Id write a review about this because they were awesome. D. I started going here for repairs and oil changes when I had an old Dodge Neon (my from A to B car) and they helped me keep it on the road for a great price. Now I have a 2011 Avenger and their service is still just as excellent; they always go the extra mile, giving me plenty of notice when larger maintenance items are coming up, leaving very few to no surprises. I live and work out in the Stayton/Sublimity area but I refuse to take my business anywhere else - its worth the longer drive! These people know me by name and care so much about treating me and my car right. They give me the honest truth and only do what is necessary. Something wrong happened with a normal repair and they took so well care of me that I wont do business anywhere else!

We had some problems with our air conditioner and the staff was so professional and so helpful. We picked up the car the next morning (we live out of Lebanon) and the air conditioner works like a champ. We will always take our vehicle to Certified Automotive Repair for their honesty and excellent work.

Car broke down driving from Seattle to Medford. Gasket leak at the thermostat. Called 7 auto shops, every one said 3-4 days, some were very rude ( how do you know what is wrong?) Certified auto was busy but they took the time to get us back on the road in one day. Very friendly. Cost was reasonable for the work done. Highly recommend them!

I had great experience with them for the first few years I took my truck in. They were friendly, informative and helpful. However, recently their customer service has been lacking. They treated my husband very poorly compared to how they treated me and didnt bother to fix his truck like we requested. They also forgot his appointments on several occasions. They were short, rude, and seemed bothered that we even requested their service. I wont be returning. We got out trucks fixed at Trinity Auto Care with much better results.

I give it two stars and not just one because the guy at the front desk was nice, thats about it. I went in for a free brake inspection, they knew my brakes had gone out as I had called ahead and when I arrived they acted like theyve never seen a cars brakes go out before. My car tires have safety nuts on them so they wanted to charge me to replace them as theyd have to be damaged in order to get them off the wheels and be able to see the brakes. So I agreed, not much else I can do about that. They come back not even 10 minutes later saying that Ill have to spend upwards of $800-$1000 at least for this total repair. Honda accord 2001 and this is what has to be fixed they say: Master cylinder, calipers, rotors and brake pads. A good look at autozone shows you that you can get this all for under $250. While this place boasts a free this and that, the mark-ups on their product is ridiculous and damn near robbery. I will never advise someone to go here, not even for a free check. The guy couldnt even provide an actual quote for the work he cited, just gave me scrap paper to write what he was saying down. Thanks guys!

IGNORE the old reviews! Theres a NEW OWNER now! These guys are TERRIBLE. They care NOTHING for customer service, they care NOTHING for anything but their big account with Comcast. Anyone else that comes here will get the shaft. Id give them zero stars if that was an option.I brought my car in to have them fix the drivers side window. It had been getting stuck halfway down for a while. I told the technician that, described what was happening. They took the door panel off, said that they cleaned and lubed it, charged me $90 for the privilege, and told me to go to hell when I got into my car one hour later and it still didnt work.This is an actual quote from the manager, Ben: Your attitude isnt welcome here.My attitude is that, when you work in a service industry, you should take some pride in your work. And if the customer isnt satisfied, because say, THEIR WINDOW IS STILL BROKEN, you might want to fix that, too.

Ive had issues with multiple vehicles and theyve always provided quick service, clear communication about the problem, and reasonable prices. I would definitely go back here if I was having car trouble again in the future.

Only place in town that never fails to beat the competition for price. I still call around for pricing, but always end up at Certified Automotive. Used to be willing to put your car up on the rack and tell you the problem BEFORE charging you. Now they will ding you for $45 just for popping the hood, I guess it makes sense, I just dont like paying until I know the total of what Im getting into.

Said they could install my auto headlight kit and fog light. Only installed fog lights after going back and forth for days, saying they could then couldnt. They had no idea what they were doing. Driving out of the shop I noticed my cruise control wasnt working. Brought it back to them a couple days later. They said they couldnt find the problem and accused me of having the cruise control broken before hand! Really! Because cruise control is such an important part of my car ugh. I wonder how many people they done this to and got away with it... I will be taking them to court.

I WILL NOT be going back to this place ever again.... First of all I called and I knew what it was wrong with my car RX300..Recently I learned that my car had a knock sensor that was faulty, so I called them and I asked them if they would look at my car sure enough it they say to bring it in so they can save me some money.. I told them I got a quote and that test were done to it and I was centain that was that.. I was just trying to get a quote.... With that set and done I brought my car in and when they call me to pick it up I was told after doing some test your knock sensor is faulty after doing some test your total is going to be $90 dollarsAfter arguing about it was just supposed to be a quote they said ok well take it down to $60 well I had no choice I paid them for basically knowing what it was wrong with my car eventhough I already knew going into the shop what day wrong with it.... Needless to say I will not recommend this place to anyonePS.. Their quote was $1200 when I got a quote for $460 with parts and labor somewhere else, guess what shop in going with.....
