Called and spoke to Curtis. I needed some answers concerning a coin, Curtis was very polite and informative with his answers. Thank you Curtis.
Outstanding customer service!!!
Fairly new to the area and have dealt with a few different dealers in the area. Capitol coin is definitely my go to shop to buy or sell. They have very good prices on precious metals. Always friendly service. Just awesome people period. Hands down the best coin shop in town from my own experience.
Nice folks! Took the time to talk and answer questions. Cheaper than ordering online - and theyre Oregon family owned! Will definitely be back!(Locating tip: Instead of turning at the pancake sign, take the turn at Goodwill [Crowley Ave] then look to the right.)
If I could rate this place negative stars, I would. My boyfriend rented a car to help me pack my things and move back to Colorado. We stopped to sell some coins to help with moving expenses, and upon seeing an out of state ID, they declined to purchase the coins. My boyfriend said he thought he was being judged on his appearance, (as he has a lot of tattoos) but I tried to assure him that probably wasnt the case, and tried to explain maybe it was the out of state licenses that had them worried. Until 3 cop cars pulled on behind us and blocked us in the parking lot. We sat for over 2 hours, while he was detained in the back of a cop car, just for them to figure out this was all a misunderstanding. (Explicit cotent) these people. I will be sure to tell everyone how they chose to treat a military veteran, and I hope this place goes out of business.
Highly Recommend :) Very honest, Polite, multi-generation family coin, silver, and gold shop. very good prices on buy-back, better than others in this area. been going there for over a decade. they also help with values on household silver and gold items. the friendly customer service is thorough. sometimes it is very busy, and we sure dont mind waiting for them to help other people that were there before us, as we know they are doing their best for everyone. they even have a sigma metalytics precious metals verifier/tester for silver and gold rounds, bars, and coins; a great way to test them without leaving marks.
I dropped by today little bit before closing and I had great service and comfortable environment! This is the best coin store in Salem and I will be back!!! Thank you for your wonderful service⭐
Honest and experienced, a pleasure to do business with!
Got a fair price for my silver today (for this town). Prompt, professional, and kind. I would not hesitate to return. I like local shops and local Salem folks. Been here 40 years myself. Thank You, David
I’ve purchased from them a couple of times now and both experiences were great and prices were fair. Glad to do business again!
Came in today right before closing, wow was I impressed . I cant wait to come back is soon . Thanks for all your guidance. I sure we will be doing a lot of business together. S.D.
Has been a good store to buy-sell-trade. But now it has gone south under new management. Poorer numismatic deals and very poor silver buy prices: no better and.possibly worse than the average pawn shop. I will not return!E H
Personal service. Great prices. Friendly, fair and well-stocked.
They pay 75% of gold spot, because they complain they have to sit on it. Lol at a 25% profit margin.... I dont think so. Sell to refineries for 95% of spot.
First off; the shop is very hard to locate. Behind the old pancake house is a terrible description of how to locate the front door when I called to ask for directions.I went to sell some silver proof coin sets and was basically quoted pawn shop prices. It was offensive the way the young man who seemed to be running things, (didnt look older than 16 or 17), reacted to me as a customer from the moment I walked in the shop to the time I passed on their ridiculous prices and left. Also, I had a commemorative US Marine Corp Iwo Jima silver dollar and stamp set, which I bought directly from the US Mint along with the same coin that is silver proof in a velvet box, and no one in the shop seemed to know what it was and therefore were not interested in purchasing it. I quickly used their Red Book and found it under the Government Issue Commemorative Sets but because it was not on their Gray Sheet it might as well have been minted in my basement.Look...its not the business decision to buy or not buy my items...its the way you treat customers who come to you looking to be treated fairly and with respect. The kid running things made no effort to do either and his attitude resonated throughout the shop with the other employees too. I will never again patronize this business and should have stuck to my original plan to go to Salem Coin off Lancaster where I have been treated very well in the past.
