My name is Jason Leavens. These guys need 10 stars. Ive been going there on and off for the last 20 years for random work. I like to do all my own work when possible so for people like me its hard to actually find a shop that you can trust and count on telling the truth. Not to mention they got me right in and diagnosed it really quickly. They fixed my problems quickly and the price was right too. This is the first time Ive actually talked to these two (Mark and Bill) for any length of time. Man are these two guys a hoot. I feel like I should be stopping in just to B.S. every once in a while. I brought my car here after another mechanic told me that I needed a transmission axle among other things. The other mechanic didnt fix transmission axles so I brought it here.The 2 mechnics were really nice at the shop. They were confident that all I needed to replace was my control arms after ldriving it around the block. After 90 minutes I got a phone call that they could not do it and I can take it somewhere else.My car is in 10 times worse shape than I brought it in. It has a extremely loud clicking sound when I brake and turn which did not happen before I brought my car there. I dont know what to do now and I cant even drive my car a couple miles without it sounding like something is going to snap off

My Expedite Company had an out of town driver break down. We went to a different shop first but due to timing, we were referred to Southgate Transmission. Our driver had a new transmission installed in less than 24hrs and was back on the road. In our business, if the wheels arent turning, were not making money. The guys are awesome to work with. They explain everything and have great prices. They have also rearranged their lobby to work with social distancing. They have done the clutch on our 09Jeep wrangler and a series of work on my 00 dodge van brakes, trans pan, pinion seal and trans sensor most recently. We will be getting more work done on our Jeep soon. It is great for me to have a mechanic I can trust and get advice from as I also do limited work on cars.

After having high estimates for a transmission repair/replace, I took a chance on Southgate Transmission.Mark really helped me out..a nice guy who took the time to explain some things and after taking a test drive gave me an estimate for a $400. Repair, that might fix the trans rather than a whole replacement or rebuild. It was a.gamble. I trusted.Mark and a short time later he called me back with good news. The repair fixed the issue and the total was less than the estimate. What a relief. No more having to ask other for a ride. No more worrying about having to begin saving for another ride. Dropped off my truck for front brakes yesterday and they were done in about 2 hours. Very fair price considering the work and cost of parts.I highly recommend their service.

These guys know their stuff. I had my broke down car towed to another place down the street from them. They wanted over $1200 to fix a 1998 neon with over 250,000 miles on it. Well after getting that estimate I called Southgate Transmission.The gentleman who answered the phone was very cool and assured me he could give me a better deal. Well, he did, less then half, even counting the amount to have my car towed again. Great service, nice guys.
