One of the hardest things to find is a good mechanic, and if you are in Tallahassee and searching for one, Cars is the place. From the first second it feels like talking to real people, who are empathetic and get your car back on the road as soon as you need it. My car broke down the day before a move, they were able to get it back up and running within a few hours even with a busy schedule themselves. Whatever your issue, it’s worth giving them a call. I couldn’t recommend a place more.

Really awesome place and staff! We had to tow our car on a Saturday. They were one of the only places that were open, they had the best reviews, and they were located near our Airbnb. They ran diagnostics right when we got there, explained as much as they could, and, even though they couldnt fix it because it was a dealership issue, they were so helpful and nice, giving us advice on what we should be asking and how much it could cost us, worst case scenario. They also got the issue right, so that was even better. They were knowledgeable, sweet, and very chill. I wish they could be my fulltime mechanic and take them back home!Also, when I tried to call the dealership to let them know our car was being towed to them, I had accidentally called CARS and didnt realize it. It took about 5 minutes for me to explain our issue and that the tow was coming, and the guy who answered the phone was SO NICE. He let me do my whole spiel that was meant for the dealership, and laughed about it with me at the end. It was a little embarrassing, but CARS definitely made a stressful situation much more calm. :)

I had a horrible experience 😡😡I will never go back they had my car for almost 2 weeks and it still wasnt fix. I had to go to another mechanic to get my car fixFirst of all I did give permission to go deeper with my ac issue and it still wasnt done. After, I got my car from there Saturday and took it to the new shop on Monday my car was repaired by Wednesday with the warranty apprroval.

It took almost 3 hours to do the front brake pads and front rotors to a Kia Forte in total it was about two hundred and fifty bucks. Make sure somebody is able to pick you up because I was told that I cannot wait not only in their lobby but I have to get off of their premises. Sat across the street without them noticing me and my car set on the left for over an hour without anybody touching it would not recommend again.

So ... I only went to this shop BECAUSE of the 5 star rating. Had I known they would take advantage of my situation, I wouldve saved myself time,money and energy and went to a different shop. I dropped my car off on a friday afternoon, picked up monday afternoon for a fixed hose. Perfect. As Im picking my car up im told to bring it back because they “ feel” something isnt 100% with my car. You just had my car for a full weekend and didnt run an inspection? You had to or else how would you have know i needed a hose repair ? I KNOW my car and I know whats wrong with it, so even though i was confused I agreed. Right after I get my car back i begin feeling my car drive different... so i take it back maybe 3 days later and all of sudden im diagnosed with a $2600 engine job that came from absolutely nowhere. If I paid you to inspect my car and fix it the first time .. how is the “ random” problem just NOW being seen ? So basically you said screw my saftey right ??? OH Not to mention I RECENTLY had work done on that specific part so there was absolutely no reason as to why it shouldve been in the condition it was in. If you’re going to take advantage of college students make sure its the right ones because I WILL be spreading the word about this please believe. Now I am out of money, a car and I PRAY karma falls back on this company 10 times fold

The Service that most IMPRESSED me was the CUSTOMER SERVICE I received from ANDREW.....Thank You ...For the past 3 months or so my window always shakes and makes sounds when I press to go up or down...I thought it was something that would correct itself with time...5 Stars is NOT for Repair nor Time....was there at opening and closing....I did complain regarding time factor.....(Addendum) FYI

When I initially called this establishment the first question I asked was if they could replace my transmission fluid. I was under the impression that it needed to be replaced due to the miles on my car and the shifting being a little strange. Instead of them telling me they did not have the equipment to do so, they told me to bring my car in so they could take a look at it. I was charged for them to take a look at my car only to find out that they cannot replace the fluid due to lack of equipment. Although the staff was pleasant, I will not be returning to this establishment due to the lack of communication with the front desk and mechanics. It was a waste of my time and money.

My sons Jeep was having a problem and we weren’t sure what it was. They promptly looked at it drove it and told him it was one of two things. It was both.They replaced the items which they showed him the old parts they replaced. They didn’t try to up sell him or replace things he didn’t needed. I had just had one of the parts he had replaced on another of our cars and it was double the price changed here. The price was more than fair. His Jeep is running great now and we have one less headache knowing there is an auto body shop we feel like he can count on.

I had to spend money on an emergency car repair, which is never a good thing. Still, after a couple friends recommended I go to C.A.R.S., I now feel I have a consistent, excellent and fair mechanic to handle all my needs. That is not worthless. Really cant say enough good things about the work they do and the quality of service.

One of our windshield whiper blades werent working at all. We were nervous the problem was something to do with the windshield whiper motor and was mentally preparing ourselves for an expensive we really wasnt prepared to pay. We arrived and both gentlemen took a look at our car, we turned on the whipers. One grabbed a wrench and explained that it was a simple fix. He tightened the bolt and that was that. Both my husband and I were in shock! They were really nice and helpful and though yes it was a quick fix they didnt charge us for their time. We were most impressed with their professionalism and kindness.

Very professional and honest. My understanding is they started this place as a shop that doesn’t rip people off. I’ve been there for oil changes, service, and they checked out a truck I ended up buying, and each time I was very satisfied by their attitude and work. A couple of times they refused to charge me even after spending a good amount of time looking for a problem that had an easy fix. Also, it’s nice to walk into a place and not get a jerky redneck vibe, or a corporate feel (I feel like when an automotive place is all gilded, they are overcharging you to pay for their aesthetic). I’d recommend this place for women and people of color who might feel uncomfortable at other shops!

I miss this place, no frills and fast, good service. Prices a little on the low side, but most people do not complain about that. Its too bad I havent found an independent car shop since I moved out of here, but it was nice while I was there! RODNEY WAS THE NICEST PERSON EVER.

I was attracted to this place for its great reviews and when I actually visited the location I realized why it was so great. Felt comfortable coming back so I pegged it my go to place for my car. I love that your car issues are explained so youre able to make a knowledgeable choice on repairs. I had my car towed here when my radiator broke and the dealership wouldn’t take my car. The staff was friendly and worked to get parts rushed in as I was visiting and didn’t live in Tallahassee. I made it home but 4 days later my car broke down again. This time I took it to my preferred dealer and had to fight with the warranty company of this shop to get my car fixed where I wanted to. One of their warranties will only cover repairs if you use an associated shop which I was not comfortable doing after my car had just broken down after they worked on it. The shop was nice at first stating that they didn’t want me to have to come out of pocket as it was the exact part they installed that had broken, but when all was said and done, they refused to cover the additional $189 that I had to pay due to their warranty not covering it. The initial repair was over $1600 which went under my own warranty on my car and my secondary repair due to their error was another $900. I ended up paying over $500 out of pocket for a repair that would’ve cost me $100 (my deductible) if I were home and took it to my preferred dealer. When I tried to reach back out to the shop, they didn’t return my phone call for over a week (they called back once I told another employee I was going to the BBB to handle the situation), got argumentative about how I should’ve used a preferred shop of theirs and I was basically just out of luck on the additional. They also asked why I didn’t just use my own warranty which I explained that it wouldn’t cover a second repair for the exact same issue that his shop had just fixed because it should be covered by his shop. I ended up being without a car for 7 days total and had no offer for a rental, nor would their warranty cover it. The worst part about the entire situation is that If I was on the highway and unable to stop, I could’ve lost my entire engine. If their warranty wouldn’t cover the additional cost for a shop that I trust to repair it, I highly doubt they would cover a new engine.

Terrible terrible service. If you are a College student be careful because they will scam you out of your money because they think you know no better. Was charged hundreds of dollars and my car came back to me in the same condition it was given to them. 0/10 experience. Never will return again.

Best mechanics in town with a friendly and honest staff. I took my car into the dealership and they gave me a list of the critical problems it had and it was going to cost thousands of dollars to repair. When I brought my car to Cars they did not try to sell me a bunch of unneeded services and instead fixed the actual problem and my car has been running great ever since.

Its a great auto shop; the best in Tally. I dont see why you would want to take your car anywhere else. They are professional and fast. They get their work done and after the fact they dont try to sell you things you really dont need like most shops here do. Just overall a terrific experience. Dont bring your car anywhere else.

Everyone I talked to was so helpful and friendly and never once tried to pressure me into something that wasnt needed like a lot of other shops will do. Ill only be taking my car here from now on and I recommend everyone do the same.

I usually feel apprehensive about going to mechanics because I don’t know very much about cars, but I felt like the employees at CARS were honest with me. My car problem was explained to me without condescension, which I really appreciated. They were very friendly, and they did what they said they were going to do at the quoted price.

I stopped here last year to fix some parts on my suspension (in an older car), and these guys were friendly, efficient, and didnt try to take advantage of me as someone who isnt as experienced with cars! Tijuana R. It all started from a Google search after another big named company attempted to over charge me for a fuel pump & harness replacement. I called & spoke to Rodney & just when I thought he forgot about me he called me the next day with an estimate for my repair. I was elated because not only did he return my call but he quoted me a price that was within the typical range for that type of service. Parts were ordered promptly & my car got repaired as promised. I plan on starting my routine oil changes here simply because of how great the [customer & repair] service was & how inexpensive the oil changes are.

Great, locally owned business. Superior prices and honest work. Installed a new compressor, condenser, and expansion valve in my BMW (cheaper than anywhere else), and my A/C works like a charm. Cheap oil changes too! If youre looking for a genuine mechanic shop, this is the place to go.

Paid for a full vehicle inspection, but was misdiagnosed. Payed $600 for something that wasn’t even the problem. Then they messed up what they did to fix. Them blamed it on me smh

Best shop in town! I have gone to Josh and Rodney for a few things since they opened CARS, and have nothing but great things to say about them and the shop. They have huge passion for cars, are friendly and attentive, extremely reasonable, and honest--will not charge you for things you dont actually need.. I went in to get an overall inspection and Josh was able to give me an overview of what my car really needed as opposed to what I was told at other shops in town. Also had to order some new parts, and Rodney searched around to find me the best prices. Not only that, but they had the parts ready for installment in no time. My car was vibrating furiously before I went to them, and now I feel like I just bought a new car! Absolutely will keep going to them for anything my car needs. A+ in every aspect.

My experience at CARS has been far beyond amazing! I love being able to drive down to a local car shop, and receive assistance and not feel cheated are scammed. The price is definitely right and worth every penny. Being that Ive been serviced there about 3 or 4 times already, I havent reconsidered switching my car service at all. As a young girl who doesnt know much about cars I was worried that I could easily be swindled by a mechanic, but they actually took the time to show me what was wrong and explain what exactly they were going to be fixing and what I was being charged for. The price was very reasonable and they fixed it quickly. Really happy I went to them!

Speedy and professional service. A.S.E. certified technicians. Clean and comfortable shop. Netflix and Hulu while you wait. Didnt pay an arm and a leg for services. Turnaround time for repair was very quick. They also are open until 7pm (Mon-Sat). Thats great for 9 to 5 folks like me.

I had gone to Tire Kingdom twice many months ago about an issue in my car and they either lied or just are plain incompetent. I gave up on finding the problem, but my coworker referred these guys. They are absolutely great, honest, and knowledgeable! They saw the problem in less than 15 minutes and even took me out to show me. I really wish there wasnt a $100 fee for supplying your own parts, but the best thing is they fixed my car for cheap! They also have additional coupons at the front desk, which just seals the deal!

I was going out of town and needed an oil change first thing in the morning. They open the shop 30 minutes early to work on my car and I paid a low costing price. Real professional and finish work in a timely manner.

When driving to Alabama with my wife & two younger sons we became faced with one of my phobias. Breaking down while traveling outside my area.My radiator went out on a vehicle I hadnt had long and it was a Saturday afternoon about 2:00pm. The place we pulled into was a quick lube oil change place. The manager was nice and knew of a shop that could replace my radiator... except they couldnt get to it until Monday.After calling a few places and starting to enter panic mode because everyone was either closed, closing soon, or couldnt get the part needed. Then, I called Rodney at CARS, and that is when things started taking a turn for the better.The Chiltons book of auto repair timed the install to take 4 hours. At this point it was about 3:00 pm and we still hadnt determined how or if we would be back in the road today. Rodney verified that they could stay late to get my work done. Then contacted his supplier to get the radiator. After he was positive he would be able to get us back on the road he called back to confirm.By time I had the truck towed to the shop it was about 5pm. These guys were supposed to close at 7pm & I still had a 3+ hr drive ahead of me. I think we all settled in that it would be a long afternoon.We caught a Uber to a nearby area of shops & restaurants and asked Rodney to call me about 1/2 hr before he expected to be done.No kidding! He called at 6:30 pm as we were finishing up dinner and told me they put 3 people on it to get it done. He cited they knew we had a long way to go and wanted to get us on the road.By 7pm we were on our way to the cabin! The Hummer runs great and carried us on to the rest of our travels.Rodney & crew, handled my worries with class, professionalism, affordably, and quickly! I wish these guys had a place in Jacksonville because Id never let another shop touch any of my cars.Again, one of my biggest phobias is being stranded along the highway when traveling. I am happy to say that the experience wasnt near as terrible as I have always been concerned it would be. That of course, is because of CARS & Rodneys professionalism along with their staff of mechanics.

Honestly, coming to CARS to repair the whip was the best decision I couldve made compared to going to Tires Plus or anywhere else where the technicians are rude, irresponsive and jack the prices up. Cars charged me only $26 and some change for an oil change compared to tires plus on W. Tennessee St. where I paid $55 in the past! The atmosphere is really chill, theyve got Netflix and a community charger for you if your phone is dying so while youre being serviced you can just relax. Most importantly, theyve got customer service down to the T, which is key to me. Id definitely recommend to all college students. Right next to FAMU, not too far from FSU, great location.

Ok so a few weeks ago i took my car to a mechanic in town believing that i had a power steering fluid leak. for no good reason, this mechanic informed me days later that, in fact, i needed to replace my entire stupid engine (+/- $4,000). i asked on facebook if anyone could recommend an honest mechanic in town and, to my surprise, in about fifteen minutes 8 or so of my friends (no joke!) let me know that the smart bet was to take the car in to see Josh Iman at Complete Automotive Repair and Sales (C.A.R.S.) on south adams street. CARS is a new shop in town, and josh & rodney patiently listened to me gripe and complain, calmed me down, ran thorough diagnostics on the car, and kept me up-to-speed over the next several days as they figured out what the problem was. a new water pump and some radiator work later, i got my car back today & its running great and it looks like josh saved me about $3,500. he and his crew were the friendliest and most up-front mechanics that ive ever interacted with, and i wanted to be sure to let all of tallahassee know that the smart bet for any car issues youre dealing with (electrical, brakes, a/c, engines, steering/suspension, general diagnostics) indeed is to get your whip into CARS (1529 south adams). ill never take my car anywhere else ever again and am eternally grateful for being pointed in joshs direction.
