My newly licensed teenager got into a very minor fender bender. My husband and I suspected the damage was just cosmetic and we didnt want to take it to a body shop if we didnt really need to do so. I called Import Authority to get some advice. Clinton had us bring the car by this morning so they could put in up on the lift and check everything out. Fortunately nothing important was damaged, just a few cracks in the plastic grill. We all decided that driving around with a cracked grill might be good punishment for our teen. 😁 And... they didnt even charge us today. I scheduled a routine maintenance service check on my 2014 Lexus GX460. I dropped the car off for service and they were so friendly and welcoming. I was notified a few hours later that my SUV was ready and they explained to me that there was absolutely nothing wrong with my SUV and that it was in good shape after they performed maintenance. When I went to pick it up the service bill was only $49 and some change. I am so grateful to this company for being honest, very timely and committed to treating their customers fair.

I have a 1993 Lexus ES300, a senior citizen. I have had all repair work done at Import Authority, and they have always done an exemplary job.But I have a larger point to make that occurred to me after my last visit which included brakes. And this says it all. When you have major work done on your car, you are not just getting your car repaired by experienced and talented people, you are literally putting your life in their hands. Im not advertising an insurance company, but that companys selling point sums up Import Authority: Are you in good hands? When I leave the Import Authority parking lot I am fully confident that my car and I have been in good hands and that we are safe.

I didn’t think an honest mechanic existed anymore, but the team at Import Authority have renewed my spirit. Clint was amazing at keeping me in the loop during the entire process. He even sent a text message with pictures of the completed work! The issue with my vehicle needed additional work, and Clint did as much to resolve my problem as possible, and now my 1999 Lexus is driving like new! I was quoted $275 for the service and….I almost fainted when the final cost came in at $271!!! When was the last time a mechanic’s actual cost came in UNDER the quote? And with perfect work! This is the place you can trust and quality workmanship that is a good use of your hard earned money!

Have heard good references for this shop for years and finally dropped my car with them for an A/C repair. Received a better quote from Import Authority than other mechanics for a more in-depth repair. Courteous and quick service and most importantly, it was obvious they knew the best way to make my repair without trying to tack on more than necessary on my A/C. Other shops gave me a boilerplate price from their computer without really listening to the issue, while Clint listened and suggested what was the practical fix. Thanks!

Ive had a succession of older cars, and Import Authority has always done a great job of keeping them running, while not helping me into bankruptcy. Theyre good about telling their clients what needs to be done NOW and what can be let go until the next paycheck.Now I have a newer vehicle, and theyre still providing great service. I was having an issue with my car, and after taking it to 3 different mechanics and fixing 4 issues that were thought to be the issue and didnt fix anything, I was at a loss. Someone recommended that I go to Import Authority and it was the BEST choice I made. The staff was very friendly, very informative, and made the whole process of even getting a my transmission replaced a breeze. I was in and out in 3 days (and that included a day of diagnosing, 1 day of the actual transmission shipment, and then 1 day of labor). By far, the best experience I have had dealing with my car in Tallahassee, or anywhere for that matter. Also, very good on price. Good experience. It was my first visit. (Subaru) They were thorough in explaining the procedures they performed and what could be expected in the future.

I have had my car here twice. My daughter goes to FSU and I am along way from Tallahassee. Both times she has brought her car in, they have repaired it with only what it needed. They didn’t try to up sell her at all. They were prompt, courteous and very reasonable.This is a great business and nice to have when they are there to take care of your college student.

Best mechanics in town. Honest and straight forward. They only recommend critical repair that need to be done. Very good and fixed anything almost at the first visit. Not the cheapest one but well better than any Franchise like Tireplus, Firestone, Etc. These guys knows better about hybrid cars than even Toyota Dealer. They even sell tires and New Hybrid Battery with exact same parts as Toyota Dealer but better warranty and service.

These folks have been working on my cars for over thirty years. At this point, they are like family. Today, they literally saved my life. I stopped by because the slack tire light was on--this had been an issue before, always after the tires were rotated. Not this time. Chip checked and found two nails in my front drivers side tire--one was in a place that literally wouldve caused a blowout. In this heat, with holiday traffic, it might have added up to disaster.They also recommended a tire shop. Praying that the tire would hold air, I limped it across town and the shop was able to fit me into a crowded schedule. We needed brake work and being from out of town decided to call Import Authority. Warrens estimate was exactly what our home mechanic said it should be. And then it ended up costing less because they were able to repair some parts instead of replacing them. Warren and the staff treated us with the utmost respect and courtesy, and we received excellent service at a fair and reasonable price.

Great customer service! But I brought my car to them and told them what the issues were. I paid almost $1000 to not have the issue fixed. Took it back to them and they said it was something different so I paid another 400. Now its still not fixed, its doing the same thing it has been doing since the first time I took it to them.

To update a previous review:We are extremely pleased with the recent 12/2020 01/2021work done by Import Authority on above vehicle. It comprised a < 2inch lift, change of all shocks/struts, coil springs, control arms, sway bars, ball joints etc. etc. The process extended over two sessions, 2/3 days each and the outcome exceeded by far my expectations with respect to professionalism, communication and (the usual) outstanding technical competency. I have been a costumer since 2016, for minor and major issues (mainly swapping parts as I am a tickler for maintenance). Each visit made a not so new vehicle better, but this one rendered it almost like new. I have owned more than a dozen vehicles over the years, from rust buckets during residency to high end European brands in private practice and lived in several states. I can honestly say that I have never experienced better or more competent service than at Import Authority. We use this truck for long distance and off road and on the last 300+ mile trip it was a true pleasure to drive. So if you live anywhere in North Florida Import Authority should be on the top of your list if you have any work planned on a non European import.Toyota 4runner, rear brakes done including rotors; I was very, not to say extremely, pleased with Import Authorities service and customer care. The short notice appointment was easy to get. Their place of business is easily accessible, pleasant and safe.Their technical expertise and competency is outstanding, in short, they really do know what they are doing and they also know that not everything that could be repaired should be repaired. They use the more expensive OEM parts if needed and switch to generics if their quality and durability is equal to OEM in their opinion, which makes any repair / maintenance more economical. I was also impressed by the fact that they discount their (very reasonable) diagnostic fee from the repair.I use the 4runner as a true utility vehicle and need it to be safe and functional. I would have done the front brakes at the same time, including rotors if needed, while I had it there. They advised me I still had a year or more to go on them, nothing done, although I would have been more than willing to.Importantly, they are real people, treat you like a friend. WhileI was waiting for the shuttle ride I observed numerous long term returning customers (always a good sign), on first name terms with staff and mechanics. If you have OCD with your car like I do, there is no better place to take your car than Import Authority. The job is done right the first time, they do not try to sell you unnecessary parts and/or services and if they know someone else can get the job done cheaper (e.g., tires), they have no problem letting you know. That right there is everything you need to feel comfortable with them taking care of your precious car.

Great people doing great work. I only buy cars Import Authority can work on. Recently I showed up on a Monday morning with a dead alternator and no appointment. They got my truck fixed before noon. Cant beat that!

Did some checking around and i saw this place looked the the rating and thought i was good place so i went in and they took it for a test ride because my speed sensor wasnt working. they ruled it out to be the transmission. I waited for about 4 hours and they came back and said they have to run some more test because supposedly my speed sensor pass the test. i figured they werent going to be done so i left it with them because i had class, when i got back after all the test they ran they said it would needed a computer to really check why it was acting up. being that they suppose to be a reputable shop they should have a computer ready to use. they didnt they wanted me to buy the computer to check what was really wrong with it. mind you now the computer cost 125 for a used one and it would take a week to get it.and they were going to keep it, they were already charging me me for the labor just to check!! so i wouldve bought them a computer and if my car still wasnt working they would have had a computer! i ended up paying 131 for my car still not to work and no answer. feels like theres more wrong with it than when i took it to them. customer service was good though. 97 honda accord

After failing to figure out what was wrong with my car, failing to provide an estimate, or do anything to remedy my issue, they charged me $43.00. When I told Clinton that he made it sound as the $43.00 charge was if they did work on the car less than $43.00 value they would do it without asking, not that they would charge $43.00 no matter what they did, or in my case did not do. He told me that other mechanics would charge $100.00, as if I should be grateful to only be charged $43.00 to have nothing done to my car. Go to Clays Automotive next door. He might take longer, but he has never charged me without fixing my car.

They are very professional, and what ever problems you have they will call before any extra work is done, check out your vehicle and then let you what they charge. Drop off mornings and pick up afternoon or evening normally, depending on the situation with your vehicle. When you pick up if they have told you $234, when you get there for pickup its no more or no less. Their word is their bond, always use dealerships parts to fix your vehicle too, I like that.
