I would give this place a 0 if I could. After several years of going to this optometrist, my family and I have ended our professional relationship with them. On our last visit, we wanted to go over our deductibles and explore costs of different lenses. The extremely rude receptionist told us that it’s none of our business and we should not ask for discounts. The initially friendly conversation escalated to Dr. Patterson and the receptionist threatening to call the police if we didn’t leave the premises. We were extremely shocked with the racial profiling and hatred we experienced that day. I would not recommend going to this optometrist.

I made an appt the day before as a new patient because my prescription ran out. I was able to get my prescription filled online so I didnt have to go to the doctor so I called to cancel. The extremely rude receptionist said Dr. Patterson drove here for you and HUNG UP on me. I called 3 hours before my scheduled appointment and explained why I was cancelling. If she had kindly explained that the doctor had traveled only for my appointment, I probably would have went in anyways for a check up but I have no desire to ever visit this office due to the rudeness of the front desk woman.

Dr. Patterson spent 2 hours trying to figure out my crazy conditions, even though I was there for a simple eye exam. He is by far the best in Tampa. I have been a patient for about 10 years. His expertise came out in is normal nonchalant way, but Greatness! Thank you sir.

I have been going here about 5 years and I am extremely happy. Dr. Patterson is very thorough and really takes his time to explain everything. The ladies in the office are amazing -- they help you get the best bang for your buck when ordering glasses, contacts, etc. Their selection of glasses is great and will accommodate any budget. I highly recommend Dr. Patterson and his fabulous staff.

I have been a client of Dr Patterson for 15 years. The entire team has always been extremely helpful and friendly over the years. Dr Patterson takes the time to do a thorough, yet quick exam and explains the process as he goes.The office always gets contacts and glasses back quickly. I have never had a single issue with them.This is a laid back office that provides excellent care. They have frames that range from low price to very high end. I cannot recommend them enough, if you live in the Tampa area.

Just want to say that there is a review above that doesnt reflect the actual event. The optical tech was done for the day, the office was closed and locked, alarms set, and she was in her car ready to drive away. The patient drove up and got out of his car and looked into the window. She rolled down her window and announced they were closed for the day. He said he really needed his contacts. She turned her car off, got out and explained to him that shed go back in and get his contacts, but because of the way the alarm is set, for him to not open the door after she entered or the alarm would go off on the 2nd opening. She went in, turned the alarm off, picked up his order, there was no balance due, so she bagged it up and went to the door and handed it to him with a smile. Thinking that hed appreciate that she took time to help him instead of leaving as she was off the clock. She never locked the door during the process. After she handed him the contacts, she went back, set the alarm, and then locked the doors from the outside and went back to her car feeling good about herself for being a go give person. Never was there anything about race involved in this and she was hurt and offended at this review that feels like a defamation of character. She wanted to immediately rebuff this comment at the time but was advised to let it go. But recently, another African American patient mentioned it to her, a long time patient, who said that shed never experienced anything like that from the optical tech. To which the tech explained the event to her. Just saying, sometimes what you think youre seeing isnt always what you see. And certainly, if the first patient had called or came back to address this with the employee before writing that review, then he would have been thankful rather than upset. I know this to be true because I am that employee, and Ive never treated anyone that way. My patients can tell you that!

I have gone to Patterson Eye for the past 4 or 5 years and I love them. Dr Patterson is very thorough and polite and answers all my questions. His staff is great; especially Nancy who will let you know the best value you can get depending on your insurance coverage. I live them!

LIKE THE DR. AND THE FRONT DESK, BUT WENT TO PICK UP MY GLASSES ON A SATURDAY WHEN THE STORE OPENED AND A LADY CAME TO THE DOOR AND TOLD ME TO KEEP MY DISTANCE BECAUSE SHE WAS THE ONLY ONE THERE!....THIS WAS VERY DISTURBING! AS AN AFRICAN-AMERICAN, I HAD TO WONDER IF SHE WAS AFRAID IN WOULD HARM HER IN SOME WAY...EVEN SO, WHEN YOUR STORE OPENS, YOUR DOORS SHOULD OPEN! I HAD TO WAIT OUTSIDE, WHILE SHE RE-LOCKED THE DOORS AND WENT AND GOT MY GLASSES..THEN PROCEEDED TO HAND ME THE GLASSES OUTSIDE OF THE DOOR. I THINK THE HIRING PROCESS SHOULD BE MORE THOROUGH..I DONT BLAME THE OFFICE ITSELF BUT THE INDIVIDUAL MINDSET OF THE EMPLOYEE

Always professional and courteous. Dr. Patterson is very thorough and has done an outstanding job for me the last seven years.

Nancy is the best, knows what she is doing and is excellent customer service.
