Phenomenal service!! Ive never felt so comfortable with this mechanic and I didnt feel like I was being jipped about what I needed for my car to start back up. Cars can be stressful especially as an expectant father needing a reliable vehicle to and from work. Calvin was there every step of the way and always available to talk to if I had questions or change of plans, my corolla needed a new clutch and flywheel and some other replacement parts. I never had great service like this with such a stressful subject in life, Calvins the man! Ill be coming here from now on!!

The staff was very personable and the cost was reasonable to. They also didnt take long to fix my vehicle since I was traveling. So far so good!

Our delivery van needed a flush and top up with fluid. AAMCO did a great job and got it back on the road without up selling on unnecessary services. I normally do my own work because so many mechanics put more into sales than service but I trust these guys.

If I could give zero stars I would. This aamco is terrible! Seriously they are thieves. 860 dollars they charged me and my husband for are truck. Just for it to break again. I call to get a refund of my money. When I call they answer and say your calling the wrong store. Like what seriously! My next step is to report them to the BBB. If I don’t get my money refunded and they don’t pick up the phone and handel the situation in a professional manner. I will get a lawyer and seek help that way. This is beyond wrong. I had to get a title loan of 1200 on my other vehicle just to pay to fix my truck. For it to turn around and still be messed up. It’s like the didn’t even fix it. They just took my money.

$5000.00 repairs gone wrong. I like ammco, just not,Tom the store manager. He is a salesman. Conman more like. Changing parts that didnt need changed and charging. 4x4 makes noise now. Just a all around RIP OFF.....DONT GO TO THIS LOCATION.Its the little stuff like, I wanted my parts back, he said fine. No parts received. I had to go dumpster diving. Hose clamp he said broke so he had to replace. NOT SO. If he lied about something small like a hose clamp, what else is he lieing about?( pictures attached).I put new plugs and coil boots on myself less than a year ago. He replaced. No reason and approval, yet I got billed.

I have a 2005 expedition that needs a transmission. Employee could not give me an estimate or quote of how much it would cost to replace. Employee said they can tow the vehicle for $90 but employee forgot to tell me it would be another $90 to tow the vehicle back to pick up location. After all was quoted $3,870.00 which was out of my $2,000.00 budget. So now I have to pay $180.00 just for the tow alone. $90 to get it aamco and $90 to get it back. The employee stated I just told you $90 because I thought you were getting it fixed here. When I just wanted to know what was going on with it and if the cost was in my budget. Very unproffessional, untrained.

John Lindsey is super, a true professional who will ensure you car is handle with care. Took my daughters 2015 Chrysler 200 in due to a transmission warning light was on. John and his team ran a diagnostics test to find that the car had an open recall on the transmission for the very issue that was causing the warning. John pointed us in the right direction and could have taken down a different path if he was not a true character driven professional. If you need work done on your car you can trust John to do the right thing. These guys are great!!

Just a common transmission issue with BRZ, which can be estimated by changing the transmission fluid. They suggest to take it apart firstly, I refused of course! I ask the employee what brand of transmission fluid they put in my car, he vaguely said a synthetic something. I don’t think they used quality ones. I tried to search the bottle from the internet, found Nothing. They gave me a receipt without saying how much for labor cost and material cost. I did print a beautiful coupon for a discount, the employee just said I should show him before the service have been done instead of when I pay. Not worth for spending $160 and have a really unsatisfied experience. They should really spend more money on improving the service instead of making a Advertisement saying that they are experts and swindling money out of customers. Not recommended for people who really cares about their car, I would never go there again:(

They did a recharge on my AC system, charging $135.18. They apparently did not notice a leak in the condenser prior to doing the recharge. A waste of service, resources, and money. But that is apparently just fine for them to see what happens.Update, 6/1/18: After speaking with the corporate office and submitting a complaint, I have come to the conclusion I will not be using AAMCO because there is just no point. The response to this comment is laughable because a competent mechanic that I took my car to after this horrible experience was able to diagnose my problem. He used a vacuum leak detector to see if the system remained pressurized. By the way, Tom, my A/C condesor DID NOT have a hairline fracture that was causing the leak but it was some how missing the screw. You mention you had to evacuate the system, right? Make sure you put all parts back, including bumpers. Stand by for future reviews on Yelp and every other area where people are checking you out. Hopefully they arent desperate because of the looming 100+°F weather and read through your other horrible reviews that showcase you attempting to be a legitimate mechanic. Honestly, you are a disgrace and hold up the stereotype that auto shops just take advantage of people.*Pictures are of condesor that had nothing wrong besides the fact that the screw was missing when my mechanic took a look. Bumper picture was taken 20 minutes after leaving AAMCO and realizing they did not put things back together.

John at Aamco is the most trustworthy car guy Ive ever dealt with. Hes straight forward and honest. They explain in detail what they will do to assess your vehicles issues and give you options. Once you make a decision they do exactly what they say they are going to do. Ive now taken all my vehicles to John at Aamco and will continue to do so in the future.

This place is fair, honest and no pressure for repairs. Took a 2010 Chevy Malibu in to them, unfortunately the car wasnt worth fixing but if it was, I would have used them. Tom was great, gave us quotes that were fair and the diagnostic was free. Would definitely recommend.

I was referred to this location by my friend who has gotten all of her work done here. She always bragged about how amazing it was. I took my car there recently and was VERY PLEASED! A tall guy (I want to say Leland?) helped me out and did not pressure me at all. I hate going to shops because they think that because I am a female, I dont know anything. He was very polite and let me know options and what was important and not important. All the staff there is nice and I will continue to go to this location.

My daughter moved 2000 miles away and had a crappy car. Any time my daughter needed anything John Lindsay and his crew was there to help her out. Great advice, great prices and great service. A trustworthy man and a giant relief to me being so far away from my daughter. Thank you!!

We had a issue with shaking in the steering wheel and rough ride. Come to find our it was just the engine mounts and John and his team were able to get it fixed same day. Leland was very upfront and honest about what needed to be done. Checked the transmission at no surprise cost when the check engine light came on.The dealership charges $154 just to tell you that repair is needed.Next, he owned the process of getting financing and keeping me in the loop at every step of the way.I highly recommend checking AAMACO over the dealership only if you want to know how bad it is without money out of pocket!

My car had a check engine light on so I took it to AAMCO, they were able to tell me what was wrong and gave me a decent price . I have not had any issues afterwards so I am happy!

This is the worst shop Ive ever came in contact with. DO NOT use them. I took my vehicle into them for a quote and it was fully running. When I went to pick it up, it wouldnt start. They refused to help or denied that they did anything. They left me stranded in 110 degree weather, proceeded to close their shop and went home. The owner who wasnt there at the time even refused to call me back to resolve the situation. Horrible shop and customer service!

The people who work here are absolutely amazing!! The gentlemen that runs the front took his time to explain everything too me even though i had no idea what he was talking about. They have rebuilt both of my transmissions and have taken great care of me and my cars. I would recommend this location on southern to everyone i know! Thank you guys so very much!

When I live on the West side of East Valley, I always go here. I like the people, I get good service, and theyre always patient with me since I have 2 rambunctious kids with me. My only complaint is they never answer the phone lolBut I guess the guy is probably in the garage.

Remember that AAMCO does more than just transmissions. In addition to rebuilding the C6 Automatic in my 1970 Ford F100, they also did a complete rebuild on my 390 V8 for the same truck. Looks and runs great!

Wonderful staff and a great price on a transmission rebuild, also repaired my speedometer complimentary when it went out. the car feels overall better all around and i would highly recommend this shop, avoid scams and high prices. a bunch of guys who know what they’re doing and will get it done right.

I started off going to a car repair shop in chandler and got ripped off. I saw a AAMCO on mill and southern. And from the moment I walked in I felt comfortable and was happy for stopping in. The staff was great but Tom made my experience even better. He not only got me a huge discount but kept me informed about everything he needed to do on a daily basis. AAMCO Tempe is under new management and it definitely shows! The new owner, Scott, took the time to reach out, apologized for my previous horrifying experience, and suggested for me to come in. Today, I took my car to AAMCO Tempe and had a wonderful experienced! The customer service was great, I was well informed of what would be done on my car, and my car was ready within a few hours. I took my CRV here when the A/C died. The quick diagnostic revealed it wasnt the freon levels. I paid for the nearly $200 in-depth diagnostic to be told a smaller part was busted, but they wanted to replace the entire A/C system due to the age of the car. That sounded fishy. So I got a second opinion. The part they said was broken was completely fine and only the compressor and condensor needed replacement. Thanks for trying to gouge me. For less than half the price of my quote from them, I now have ice cold air from another shop. Shame too, because the gentleman manning the desk was so polite and reassuring. I wont be returning.

I have been working with Don for a few years now and hes is my number 1 option when it comes to any kind of vehicle work. He is trustworthy, and completes his work when he says he will. I have also referred him to several friends who were all extremely happy with him. Highly recommended!

Tom over at AAMCO is the man! I dropped my car off yesterday expecting a few days in the shop due to some suspected motor mount issues. Mind you, no appointment was set up. Within 30 minutes of dropping the car up, he had a full blown diagnosis of what needed to be replaced and the most urgent needs for the car. He knocked everything we agreed on out, showed me the parts that were replaced, got my car back to me in less than a day, and did it all for an extremely fair price. All in all, Im very pleased with my experience with AAMCO, Tom and his team!

I started this week by going to their competition who quoted me over 1000 to fix my brakes.(a big name ). I went here this morning to get a second opinion which they did for FREE, also explained previous tech notes (from the competitor ). After they finished there evaluation they came in at over 500 dollars cheaper and lot of stuff from competitor recommend didnt need to be done. I checked truck in around 8:30, they finished around 12 .. I wish to thank team here and I will be recommending to friends and family. Thank You.For those that cant afford emergency auto repairs which I was in this situation, they do offer financing services though Easy Pay and Snap. I belive there was few other optionsNote, Tom and team did not recommend it, I actually preapplied before going in . To verify I could secure any funding for repairs .

Poor service and had to take car back for same issue that was supposed to be fixed

My troopers transmission has been rebuilt in AAMCO mesa shop a few months ago, but, after 4month it turns out to harsh shift. My transmission still under 12/12 warranty, but you know what, when I take my truck to mesa shop, Tim, the manager says it might not the transmission problem, it might be some computer problem. He gonna charge me $90 for further inspection. So, I say no, and I take my truck to AAMCO Tempe for further confirmation, Patrick, manager in Tempe shop, conducted the inspection for me for free and he is pretty sure, it is internal transmission problem for this case. Computer problem gonna be a completely bullshit! Patrick also suggest me that just take you truck to Mesa store, if they say NO, just call home office to yield at director. Actually, I did call their director. and the result is that Meas shop is fix my transmission for free. Under Warranty!!!!!! Anyhow, Patrick is good guy who worth to trust. if you have car problem, go to himUpdateTim fixed my truck, the problem does shows as Tims estimation. some electronic problem. But, anyhow, I do appreciate Patricks help and advice.

Car died, needed a jump just to leave work and it was a hot day.Aamco at Southern and Kyrene happened to be the first place I could pull in to, as I didnt want it to quit in traffic.They were busy to the gills, and the first thing I noticed was the manager Tom greeting me with a welcoming smile instead of seeming overwhelmed.My situation turned out to be a 4 year old battery that had seen one too many summers.The place was packed with customers and my battery is an odd size.Immediately he got on the phone, found the right battery and put me at ease that it wouldnt take long.What impressed me most was the upbeat staff even though it was a miserably hot day.There was a family with an SUV towed in who was stranded going cross country. Tom kept them laughing and engaged while he multi tasked getting parts delivered to get them back on the road.Also two other customers needed to finance their repairs and had other questions and without missing a beat they were being taken care of in order.Its not often that you go in to a business these days and have such a pleasant experience when otherwise having a bad day. I would highly recommend these guys If youre looking for any kind of vehicle repair and want it done right for an honest price.

I dropped by the Aamco store on Southern avenue in Tempe on 1/26/18 to have the brake pads replaced on my 2015 Jeep. I had a coupon and felt that the $129 per axle was a fair price. They took my vehicle for a test ride and determined that the brake pads still had a lot more life left in them. It would have been easy for them to replace the brake pads anyway and I would have been none the wiser.But this is what made the experience different, Tom Schuldner, the store manager went out of his way to let me know that the brake pads had a lot of life left in them. He could have done the work as I requested and I would have driven away contented. Its refreshing to see an automotive repair shop with integrity.

Brought my car here for oil and general maintenance. They got me an appointment super quick and took care of everything for a fraction of what other places wanted to charge. Highly recommended.

This place is a sham. I took my car in with battery issues they wanted $3,000 to fix it I fixed it myself for $250. Was told that they could guarantee me financing and that the towing and the diagnostic would be free as long as I agreed to work. We agreed to let them do the labor only to find out it was 3000 plus and they cannot Finance me they wanted the $200 for the towing and the diagnostic mind you I have AAA which would have told me theyre for free. They refused to give me my money back until I wrote a Google review that put them on blast. Only then did they agree to give me my money back as long as I change my Google review. Not only that but I had somebody call with this pretending to have the same issue as my car I have it recorded Tom saying that it was a free diagnostic testing. I cannot in good conscience give them a false review yeah I got my money back so what its only a little bit of what they owe me for the headache and the time lost that they cost me. Please do your research on shops and please avoid this particular shop on Mill and Southern PS I dont care if they gave me my money back Im just going to blast them anyways. I went to a different aamco and they told me my transmission was shot, came here and it was nothing with the transmission. Very honest and nice people for sure.

When I brought in car to get Transmission Flushed. Thought Tom did a great job. He is very knowledgeable about my Nissan and gave best advice. He didnt even charge me cause cared about the customer. AAMCO should be greatful to have a Great Employee.

This company is very honest. My transmission was not working at all. They told me that a bolt had come off and that was the only problem. They could have charged me an arm and a leg and I wouldnt have known anything different because I was stuck and in a jam. Not only were the honest but they didnt even charge me for the repair which did take them 20 minutes.

My 2013 Acura MDX wasn’t running smoothly and I had no idea why! I was helped right away by the guys in the shop even delaying their lunchbreak to accommodate my schedule. Fantastic service by such nice guys! They found the problem immediately, let me know exactly what it would cost and got me out the door right away! They will be who I take my car to from now on!

My brother went in because his gearshift felt funny when moving from park to reverse. They told him he needed a $1100 engine mount job. This sounded like a lot, so I checked his engine mounts and they were pristine. Absolutely perfect. I told him to go to a Toyota dealership for a second opinion and they agreed with me. Either the AAMCO technician was incompetent, or theyre crooks. Take your pick, but either way, dont go.

Normally I do not leave feedback but I must in the case with Tom n AAMACO.I took my Durango in for a leaking transmission that was covered by warranty. I also had a problem with my speed sensor. Tom was a great person to work with. Long story short...they found loose bolts on the pan...so they tightened them to spec. My speed sensor, that I had bought the part for, was not bad...just had a bad wire. Tom fixed both ...FREE!! Who does this. I told him he has my business from here on out. Thank you!! I feel good knowing I have a place that will fix my vehicle with honor and truth. Great place for your hooptie!!

These guys are great in fishing you in to waste money .. at first they will tell you come for free inspection then they will come up with excuses to do deeper investigation and will charge you about twice as others ( $183 ) and then of course come to massive bill.. and of course they have wasted The whole day with the inspection took them about 8 hr to give me The same analysis somewhere else done in less than an hour ..feeling bad and deceive will not go back and will not recommend

Really good service was quoted a price and they held to it no up charges have had numerous work done to the shop and they have been outstanding look forward to anytime I have a problem taking it to these people so far they have proven they can absolutely be trusted

Went there to have my AC checked out. i THOUGHT it was a lack of freon which they quickly agreed with and said theyd run a dye check to see where the leak was coming from. I decided to wait, found out two days later from a friend who works on cars that my freon was completely full, there was no leak, and that the problem had been a crack in my compressor. Glad i didnt waste my money having them fix something that wasnt broken.

My dad was suppose to go back for his 10 day checkup and didnt due to the fact he had to deal with tom the store manager who had a lack of respect for customers. with closer look to his paper work we found jobs that were not required but done anyways without customers approval and was billed for it we wouldnt go back to aamco for free repairs. if my dads vehicle broke or any parts that they touched thats covered under their warrenty we wouldnt take it back in for free repairs.this is not a trusted establishment.

I originally said these guys were good until I got the bill. They totally tell you that yes they take payments and it even says it on their website, what they dont tell you is that they think that 10 personal checks in 2 weeks is payments. On $2,000 worth of work thats ridiculous! If I had that kind of money within 2 weeks I wouldnt have asked to pay for the repairs in payments. DONT GO TO THESE GUYS EVER! THEYRE LIARS & CROOKS!

DO NOT GO HERE, they either don’t know what they’re doing, or they do and they’re trying to swindle you out of money. I came here concerned about a noise coming from the front left side of my car, I originally thought it was a bad bearing in the tire, but the sales person (whose name I’ll leace out of this) told me it was my transmission, and word for word said “my car was undrivable” without spending a minimum of $2700 up to $6500 on repairs. I got a second opinion somewhere else, and confirmed it was the ball bearing, so I bought the part myself, and had it installed elsewhere for $170. Unbelievable.

I got a ton of work done here. Fair and quick. Ill be back.

I WOULD GIVE THEM ZERO STARS!!On Friday, Feb 16th, 2018- I called AAMCO and spoke with Tom at 3:45 PM and asked him about pricing. I told him that AAA had my car at a repair shop and that they were going to charge me $2400.00 to fix the transmission. Tom told me that AAA does not specialize in transmissions and that he could do better with the price and rebuild the transmission. Tom told me that the transmission that AAA was going to give me was from a junkyard and did not come with a warranty. Tom assured me that AAMCO would find the problem and fix it for lower than the price that AAA was offering. Tom told me that the tow and inspection of transmission to diagnose the problem would be free.Saturday, Feb 17th, 2018- I called Tom at 9:04 AM before the car was towed to AAMCO. I asked Tom about the pricing and if he was certain that he could get the price around what AAA had offered ($2400.00). Tom told me that I would hear from him on Tuesday after he had done the inspection to find out the exact problem. He asked me for the last four digits of my Social Security number as if he needed it for identification before completing the tow. There was no mention of a fee for an inspection or a fee for towing.Tuesday, Feb 20, 2018- I called AAMCO at 3:40 PM because I had not heard from Tom about the car. He rushed off of the phone and told me that he would call me the next day with a report on the transmission. There was no mention of a fee for inspection or towing.Wednesday, Feb 21, 2018- I called AAMCO at 4:41 PM and Tom told me that there was corrosion that had caused problems with the pressure values in the transmission unit. Tom stated that it would cost me $3000 to have the car fixed. I told him that I did not want to have the car fixed at that price. There was no mention of an $850.00 fee during this phone conversation. I asked Tom to email me a copy of the invoice for the work that he was proposing. The invoice is dated Feb 17th, 2018. That means that the invoice was prepared before the car was towed to Toms AAMCO location and before the transmission was inspected.I trusted that AAMCO was going to help me out with solving my transmission issues. I feel deceived and lied to about the service that I received at AAMCO. I NEVER SIGNED ANYTHING WITH AAMCO!!! TOM is trying to extort me for money. He says that he will not release my car without me paying an $850.00 fee for the transmission inspection. He has also added a $69.00 fee for towing. He has also threatened to charge a storage fee for keeping the car despite the fact that he does not want to release it. I do not trust AAMCO to fix my car and feel that they have completely destroyed my transmission and may have done additional damage to my car. I HAVE HIRED A LAWYER AND PLAN TO FIGHT THIS OUT IN COURT!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS SHOP!! YOU WILL BE SORRY!

Do not take your car here to get fixed. I had an issue with my rear differential and took it in to get fixed and paid 1800 dollars for the fix. When the car was almost ready the office guy Tom called and said I needed to replace the emergency break shoes and made it sound like I absolutely had to get it fixed. That was an addition 120 dollars. When I received my car back I tried the emergency break and it doesnt work at all. When I asked for a refund they told me it couldnt be done because it was under warranty and they would fix it. After the horrible experience they put me through already I told them theres no way I would let them work on my car again. Its funny how other google reviewers received their money back but I cant get my 120 back for the defective emergency break.

Don is the man! I wouldnt take my business anywhere else! Only car shop Ive ever been to that I left happy!

So I was there last week to get work done on my car Anthony he was very nice and helpful

I paid $1,000 to get a simple issue fixed. Within a day of getting my car back it was having the same problem. So I gave them a second chance and brought it back in. After keeping my car for 2 days they told me it was just a wiring issue and they promised me my car was good to go. But again, within a day my car was doing the same thing I brought it in for. Not only was it doing the same thing, but it was doing it more frequently. They wanted me to bring it in so they can figure out whats wrong with it and get a price for me. Are you KIDDING me?! I pay you $1,000 to not fix my car and you want me to pay you more...thats just not right.

Went there to get my Jeep fixed. They diagnosed the problem then offered me the solutions. At first i was impossible to take them up on how much it would cost but the owner made a deal with me and it lowered the cost by almost half. From there they fixed it all up. I did have to take it back due to high rpms but they found what caused that and fixed that at no cost

This place is horrible.I was told I would get a Reman.transmission for $3000. Worst mistake ever .was told would work just like New.first time transmission kept leaking oil, second time the transmission broke down on me broke down middle of the street,third time kept leaking again, fourth time it leaked across Country from Phoenix Az to St.Louis MO.I wasted $3000.I had to trade the truck in because it kept breaking down me.worst place ever

I called to get an estimate on work that needed to be done on my girlfriends truck and the shop manager could do nothing but quite his policy not AAMCOs policies. You guys lost a lot of business. This location is garbage.

Was having car troubles, took it by and they checked it out for free!! Tom went above and beyond to make sure I got everything I needed. Ill be bringing both my cars here from now on.
