This review is specific to the service department. Based on the attached, advertised photo of a tow hitch installation offered by Mazda, I scheduled this service for my Mazda CX-5 at Horne Mazda. After waiting several hours for completion, the other picture is what I got. Needless to say, I was livid. It was the weekend and the service manager was unavailable so I was given his email address to contact him and voice my concerns. He responded that he agreed with the poor workmanship. It was agreed that they would replace the entire bumper free of charge. He called a few day later and scheduled to replace it the following week, stating it would take about an hour. I let him know we would need it done that day as we were going out of town the following day to move our kids in for college, hence the need for the tow hitch. He assured me it would be done promptly. When we arrived, on a Friday, we were told we were being sent to Enterprise for a rental car as it would likely not be ready until the following day. We told them this wouldnt work as we had previously discussed with the service manager. They said they would have it done by the end of the day and still sent us to Enterprise where we were required to pay for insurance and gas for a vehicle we didnt know we would need. We waited until the end of the day, 7 hours total (not an hour like we were told) only to find out that the wrong bumper was ordered and they just cleaned up the original cuts they made. The service manager, again, wasnt there, and I had to contact him by email. He called me a few days later and said it was his mistake for ordering the wrong bumper and would re-order the correct one. This was nearly a month ago and I havent heard back from him. Weve been going to this service department since purchasing our vehicle there in 2018 and have had good experiences up until recently. It is unfortunate because we used to trust them for all of our service on both of our Mazda vehicles.
Jenn and Anthony got the deal done! It was pretty much a seamless process. I didn’t think I was going to be able to get the car I really wanted, but now I am a proud owner of a Turbo Mazda 3!! I love it and love driving it! Thanks again to the team at Horne Mazda. We now have 2 Mazdas from Horne at home!! 😎
I just got a car from Horne Mazda today, that was my best experience ever, first of all I used to lease cars, so this is not my first experience. The way we were greeted when we entered and how fast and smooth the process was, was great. This dealership is so lucky to have Shayla on their sales team, she was able to get me the deal I want on the car my wife wants, with the smoothest transaction ever. Then we met Wayne, the amazing finance guy. This team has to be ranked as A team. I am so glad I gave them a call today and got my car from them. They were able to help and accommodate us (my wife and me) even though it was late during the day, they stayed after the business hours to help us, that we had to push for them to leave (asking them to leave as we felt guilty keeping them late) and would come back on any other day. This team takes that further step to help the costumer. I was in the market for quite some time looking for a good deal, not to mention the mess these days because of the microchip shortage, I can tell this was the best experience and dealership I have visited (I visited different dealerships, different brands, looking for a good deal and a car that would fit the needs, again all that was because the shortage in the market). By the way we got 2 key fobs as I heard some dealerships are giving one only until the chip shortage gets fixed.Later, after we got the car, Shayla was helping in setting up the Mazda phone app, so she had to choose my favorite dealership and she knew that we lived in an area where there was another Mazda dealer there, she did not even push to register us with Horne Mazda for service, and recommended a closer one to where we live for our convenience, but we preferred Horne one for their great costumer service and honesty, I have not seen such helpful and not pushy service, even when Wayne was reviewing the maintenance and insurance options they have.Shayla & Wayne thank you very much for the great help, my wife and I are sooooo happy, you guys deserve the FIVE STARS review and more
Truly one of the best car buying experiences we have had. Shayla and Ryan were great and made the process super easy and uncomplicated. In and out within 2 hours from test driving to signing...all super smooth. Highly recommended.
I honestly love this dealership for their service. This is my first time visiting here, and it was to get my wifes vehicle serviced for free because shes a teacher. What really impressed me wasnt just a great customer service, but they thoroughly cleaned the vehicle and even did the tires too. I immediately booked my next appointment there
If youre looking for a new or used car, I highly recommend this establishment. The staff is knowledgeable, professional, and straightforward with you; unlike other dealerships, they actually care about their clientele and build a rapport with them before, during, after the process (starting from before I even walked in). They actively worked with me and understood my needs, and went above and beyond to meet them. Alan and Tory went out of their way to make the process a joy, and made everything simple, clear, and easy to understand; the process was efficient, streamlined, and pressure-free. Ive never been actually excited to buy a car before this, and Im glad to say that Id do it again through them, and their establishment.
I recently purchased a mazda 3 2021 Hatchback here and Patrick was amazing! He made sure to let me know that he was working with me to get the best price possible for the both of us and all around he is very knowledgeable about the vehicle and very kind! 10/10 would recommend going to him for anything. Honestly think he deserves a raise!
I purchased my CX-3 from Horne Mazda. Great facility, friendly, accommodating staff and overall great experience!! I love my Mazda and can’t wait to purchase my next one! They made everything super easy, not like your typical car dealership! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a safe, affordable vehicle!
I bought my CX-5 Carbon Edition from here and had a phenomenal experience. Everyone is very knowledgeable of their product and makes the car buying process easier than ever. If youre looking for a new vehicle new or used, go visit them and enjoy!
I did purchase my car from Horne--simply because the price was $3000 less than the Tucson dealership. However, it was a miserable experience. The salesperson was nice although unresponsive after the sale, but most of the emails I received were from the general manager. He was also very nice on the phone, but his emails were terse to the point of rudeness and aggressively pushy during negotiation.During that negotiation, a male colleague called to enquire about the car I was interested in as an experiment. He was told it was sold (it wasnt; I later bought it) and offered another car of the same model but with an upgraded package--for less money than Horne was asking for the car I was interested in. This causes me to wonder whether, despite the number of female salespeople, I was being offered a less advantageous deal because I am female. This thought was compounded during the valuation of my trade-in. The man doing it claimed my car needed new brakes and new tires and stated the tires were manufactured in 2016. Either he is ignorant about how to read a tire or he assumed I am; the tires were manufactured in 2019, and an independent mechanic later confirmed the car did not need brakes or tires. Hornes valuation of the trade-in was $2500 less than TrueCar estimated and $5000 less than what I sold it for one week later.Taking delivery of the car was a four-hour ordeal involving a great deal of unnecessary waiting. The car was not detailed and ready for pick-up despite having an appointment. Even after being detailed, it was not as clean as it should have been. The entire process was painful, lengthy, and somewhat hostile.
I came here and purchased a used 2018 kia. They did not make it clear what the final price was out the door and say it was a “miscommunication” when my loan was $5,000 over what I expected to be financing, and they play the semantics game when I tried to ask about it. The finance guy also lied about the price of the warranty. Said it would be $15/$16 extra, when the warranty was $2500 in total, financing for 5 years- math is off on their part, it would’ve been around $40/mo. When I asked for them to take the warranty off, they said just accept the loan as it is (was still $5,000 over) and then eventually we will refund you - which I thought was shady. The only reason I’m giving this place 2 stars is because of the sales associate, Sammy Carlson - she was very helpful and the only person who apologized to me, personally.
Omari was very kind and courteous. Excellent customer service. We were very happy with our business with him and this dealership, and plan to be returning customers. Thank you!
I had dealt with this dealership in 2012, not sure if it was the same name but, great service then, and outstanding again. Our sales person Sammy was knowledgeable, very pleasant, absolutely zero pressure, made the whole car buying experience awesome. The manager Alan was fair in his pricing and we are very happy customers of the dealership.
I bought my f150 from Horne Mazda and it was a friendly and easy experience. The truck has been great so far and the service department does quality efficient work on my maintenance. Great place to buy a new Mazda or any preowned vehicle!
Omari was our sales guy and 10/10. He was patient, professional, hardworking and more. He worked with us to get us the car we wanted. Its my first time buying a car and I was expecting it to be horrible, but that wasnt the case! Thank you for my dream car!
This 5 star review is for David Potts. I leased my first car on my own and was very worried about having to go through the whole process of getting a car but David made everything great! I am super happy with the deal I got and with his customer care. My new CX-30 Turbo is beautiful and I love the way it drives. Thank you David!
The only way i could write a review was to rate them 1 star?! I would be a strong zero stars for the service department. I brought my car in to get a coolant leak checked out, which turned into my engine needing to be replaced. After not hearing from them for approx 3 weeks, i called them for an update. They did not have the engine yet, so i was a little upset. The service manager told me that i was acting like he had the engine, but he wasnt working on my car. Magically, the engine arrived the following day. Another 2 weeks go by, and i received another call saying they are very busy, and they are waiting for a lift to free up, and they gave me another completion date. They called me again on the day my car was supposed to be done telling me it was going to take longer, but they had new excuses. Covid is hitting them hard, they have no skilled labor, etc. They gave me another completion date, and i received another call with more excuses why the car wasnt done. I finally got the car back 2 days ago. The steering wheel shakes, it pulls to the right, and the paint is chipped all down the driver side of the car. Their resolution was, its nothing that we did. Upon further inspection, i find a melted seal on my driver door and a trim piece around the rear wheel dangling. Their response was that its nothing they did. I took the car to the body shop today and i was told that they hit the car with the lift, and thats what broke the trim. Horne Mazda did 580 dollars worth of damage to the body of my car installing an engine! I can only imagine the workmanship on the engine install. Please think twice before you let these clowns work on your car! 58,000 miles on my car and it needed a new engine. Im done with Horne service, and Mazda.
Buyer beware. They will add extra dealer accessories to their vehicles, such as ceramic tint, security system, and some car deodorizer. Ive purchased enough vehicles to know this is common practice, they have to make their profit somewhere, right? What caught me off guard is their fine print on their website which I screenshot below. It states Dealer accessories may be removed and are never required for purchase. Someone should really tell them the definition of never because they refused to take the tint off, making this blatant false advertising. Im guessing the Arizona Attorney General will be interested in this since its a $10,000 fine per instance of making a false statement, which would be for every used car on their lot. That could get expensive quickly for them. Good luck to anyone choosing to do business with Horne Mazda.
Just bought a cx-5 from Horne Mazda. Worked with Chad and he was great! I would highly recommend working with him. He made the process very easy and no pressure! He has a great sense of humor and genuinely wanted to put us in the right car. Chad worked with Wayne to get us out of the dealership in one hour after we picked our vehicle. Nice job guys!
Best atmosphere in the valley! Amazing place to work and purchase from, as I have bought 2 vehicles here and will not go any place else for a vehicle.
Ive had my Mazda 6 now for three years. I love it and I just bought my son a Mazda 3. Thanks Sammy for a great sales experience. The whole team was great.
My parents bought a vehicle cash 45 days ago and never received the plates or paperwork. Went to the Dealer today 10/20/2021 as they never processed anything till today and that’s because my dad went and ask. The Dealer didn’t do anything about it besides doing what they were supposed to do 45 days ago. Now because of this, my parents can’t drive to Texas like they were supposed to do this weekend for a special occasion. 😡😡 what a bad service I wish I can give them negative stars.
Yesterday, I bought a brand new 2020 Pearl White Mazda CX-5 Touring Fully Equipped and so in love with it! HUGE shoutout to Chad Patterson, I cant lie I came to the dealership nervous and anxious and didnt know what to expect. I was originally supposed to test drive a vehicle with another car salesman but he was busy at the time with another customer and the vehicle they had pulled out for me to view wasnt the right model. Chad confidently let me know he had the right color/model in mind to show me! He was right! As soon as I sat in the car I was in LOVE! I had test driven at other places and the car salesman barely spoke to me, didnt seem too concerned with working with me or listen to what I wanted! Chad was the complete opposite, he was knowledgeable, charismatic, professional, honest, friendly, fun and just calmed all my nerves and made the process super smooth! I felt like I was buying a car from a friend! He was able to work with me, I was able to get everything I wanted at the rate and price I wanted! Also, shoutout to Levi in the financial department, he was super nice as well and broke down every fee for me to clearly understand etc! Chad even took the time after the car was washed and ready to go to sit in the car with me and show every feature my new vehicle had to offer! He was just as excited for me as I was! Talk about going above and beyond! If you are in the market looking to purchase a new Mazda go to Horne Mazda and ask for Chad he will not steer you wrong, no pun intended ;)! 10/10 this man deserves a raise :) lol
We have purchased three vehicles (all Mazdas) from this dealership and will undoubtedly return again as all of our interactions with both the sales and service departments, in particular Shelby, have been outstanding. Our most recent CX5 purchase went very smoothly. The sales associate (Samantha) was friendly and low key and the finance manager (Wayne) was very helpful in securing the terms that we wanted. It is nice to know that we can get the car we want at a good price and without all the hassle typically associated with car purchasing.
Extremely friendly and professional staff. I bought a car through Shayla and she was very helpful in getting me the price I wanted.if I ever need anything I will definitely be going back to Shayla!
So my car was dying but I loved it, although it was becoming a money pit. I did my research on several cars and landed on a CX-5. I did a general inquiry through a random site to get quoted and info. Jenn called me among others from various dealerships. Our 1st convo was great and we got right down to business. Majority of the work was done before I stepped foot onto the lot. We did everything online/over the phone. I even had my pre-qual/approval info before walking in and picked out my exact car. I felt comfortable because she was very personable, reassuring, and patient as hell, I know I probably was exhausting. Her confidence and comfort allowed me to be more receptive to what needed to be done, which was get out of my 13 chevy cruze with 160K miles. The whole team was great, Mike was cool, the financial person (Im sorry I forgot his name) was soothing, and again Jenn was supportive and reassuring. I was super nervous to have another bill.....but I was def paying one with my many repairs. I am confident in my vehicle taking me all through AZ thanks to the Horne Mazda team!
Got my 3rd CX-5, this time from Horne. Easy transaction. Shout out to Sammy who was a pleasure to work with. Super patient with me! Thanks Sammy ☺️
I talked to Shay at Horne Mazda a random day last week about my interest in a CX-5. She was very helpful and set up an appt. She let me explore my options online and it was the EASIEST and FASTEST car purchase I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a good dealership with a great sales person, go to Horne Mazda and see Shay. :-)
I visited a number of dealerships throughout the day and ultimately purchased my new CX-5 at Horne Mazda. Our salesperson Shayla Haley is one of the best car salespeople I have ever worked with. From my first call to her she didnt play any games like many other dealerships. She was a straight shooter and never made it difficult to do business with.I have purchased many cars over the years and the overall experience at Horne Mazda was great. I also enjoyed the time spent with the finance person who genuinely cared about the sale and helped me to understand all of my options.I cant say enough about Horne but if your in the market for a Mazda make sure you give Shayla Haley a call, it will probably help you a lot.
Everyone here is personable and patient. It’s a great environment and exciting!
I had such an easy and wonderful experience buying my car with Horne Mazda. My sales rep, Chad Patterson, was such a pleasure. There was no pressure, no sense of desperation, no haggling. Nothing that made me feel like just a number. I truly felt that my business was appreciated and valued. Levi in finance was also great! No pressure - just honesty and appreciation for my business. Great job, guys!!
They’re super cool! Service department is so responsible and knowledgeable! They’re right at the point and customer service is over all great!I feel bad for not having their service space inside a Shop floor, instead they’re working in open garage in hot sun. Highly recommend.Sara Daly, she has lot of knowledge on Automotive technology and technical. So far after Farmington Hills, Michigan locationI liked this dealership.
***UPDATE at bottom***My first time to a new dealership in another state. I was on time for my appointment and they were ready to receive me. They finished in the exact time quoted which was fantastic. All of my online coupons were taken care of without having to print them out. The staff was incredibly friendly. Ive actually not had an experience like this at a dealership, so thank you. You all earned a customer. The waiting area was very clean, with a lot of treats and snacks, coffee, and water while you wait with comfortable chairs around the TV, or a charging island where you can post up and work on your laptop/tablet with built in charging ports.Overall great experience and I loved the staff. Will be returning for anything I need.11/14/2019 UPDATE!!!I was in need of a new vehicle and had checked around other dealerships. In short, that was an absolute nightmare. Thank goodness for Horne Mazda.I started a chat on the website and was promptly greeted. I Informed the rep of the model, color, and trim that I wanted and he checked the inventory. It was there, so he took my contact information and told me Id receive a call.Less than ten minutes later I received a call from Alan. Right from the get go he was kind and helpful with the information I needed, and I was able to set up a test drive within the hour.I arrived and Alan was right on time for our appointment. Very personable, funny, and walked me right to the car which was waiting for me. I was driving in minutes. Alan explained a lot of the features and kept it very conversational. I found the car I wanted. ASK FOR ALAN. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!There was no BS here and it was massively refreshing. I dread going to car dealerships and honestly, Alan, the finance manager(s), and everyone involved in the process (including the Internet Sales manager who popped out to say hello to me) were totally spectacular. I believe everything was fair, made sense, and there wasnt any hidden garbage to deal with. It took about three hours from the time I contacted the Internet chat to the time I had signed the paperwork and drove home in my new car.A very professional and straight forward process from start to finish, and I absolutely love my new car. The service center rocked it (see above) and the sales/finance guys were excellent. The followup and touch-bases have been thorough and helpful.Overall this is a top notch operation. Thank you!
Omari Billingsley was PHENOMENAL with our new Mazda CX-5 purchase! He was extremely knowledgeable of all of the details of the vehicle. He had the car all ready for us to look at with the air conditioning running to keep it cool in the heat for our test drive. Omari was extremely polite, respectful, courteous, and personable! He is a definite asset to the dealership! We highly recommend him when purchasing a vehicle!
Yesterday I bought a car off the lot. My first time going through a dealership and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience everyone was super friendly, there was no rush, they had the car ready for me when I arrived, and had it freshly detailed before I left! Anika was my sales person and she was excellent showed me exactly what I needed to see, got me everything I asked for in detail, and explained very clearly all the paper work, warranties etc. Got exactly the car I wanted for the perfect price.
If you’re headed here, ask for K E N.I didn’t end up buying a car here as we found a better deal elsewhere, but we had the best customer service experience, which seriously made us want to buy a car from this guy. We appreciated his demeanor and approach. Thank you, Ken!!
I bought a CX5 4 months ago. Taylor was my salesperson and Sherif was the finance manager. They were both wonderful and it was a great experience working with them. I usually hate buying a car but they made it not super painful.
Great dealership with customer service and professionalism a 10+!! I stopped in the dealership. The front door was held open for me by a sales rep or service tech. I explained that I was a vendor and nothing changed. In fact it only got better. He assisted getting me started and then introduced me to the general manager. Kylor greeted me and answered all my questions. Its so nice to see a GM have time for ALL the customers. This is a top notch dealership. I could tell as soon as I walked in the door.
Best experience ever buying a Car. Thank You Chad you are the best salesman I have ever dealt with. Thank you for making my experience the best. Love my CX-5. Thank You, Richelle!
10/10 Great experience with the people at Horne Mazda!! Every person I spoke to exhibited professionalism and integrity and were absolutely great at following through when it came to my car shopping experience. Worked with Shayla and Allen in the beginning as I was finding my car and both helped out a lot in being there in the process to answer any questions we had. Chad guided me through my paperwork process for purchasing a CX-5 and was very great!! He made the couple hours long process of purchasing a vehicle and absolutely enjoyable process. Highly recommend Horne Mazda!
Loved this dealership!! Super nice and good selection of cars. Just moved here and was in need of a car but on a tight budget, Shay helped me out so much!
1. Bought a brand new Mazda CX5 in Oct 2017. Because i wouldnt buy an extended warranty they charged me a higher finance rate.. .After letting someone else know they did call me and fix the problem.2. When the AZ weather heated up all my dashboard functions lit up alerting me that the smart brakes, camera, etc were not working. After letting the dealer know, they assured me it was because it was probably because of the heat and everything would still work. My question: why would they sell that car in AZ or at least warn consumers?3. At 27,000, the engine light came on and no factory warranty. I made an APPOINTMENT to get a diagnostic. At the end of the day they never got around to it.. Just to diagnose the issue? Why make an appt???4. DONT buy a Mazda...Im shopping for a brand that stands by the products and the service they sell!
Make sure you ask for Chad, he was so awesome and made the entire process painless. He was personable, friendly and attentive. I’m so happy with my purchase, if I could give more stars I would!! Thanks again Chad!!!
I always have such a great experience when I come to Horne Mazda. It is easy to make appointments online for service, the staff is attentive and friendly, and they are knowledgeable about what they do. The lobby is clean and welcoming. I trust them with anything I need for my car.
We just purchased a new 2021 CX5 Signature from Horne Mazda and had the BEST experience. Our contact was Chad Patterson the Internet Sales Manager and I cant say enough good things about him. He was professional, knowledgeable, friendly and just a great guy to work with. He made the process easy (5 hours on site for paperwork but not his fault). He answered all our questions and was extremely easy going and courteous. He showed us every feature of the car and was patient to make sure we understood how everything would work. He actually made the process fun and thats saying a lot when car shopping. I think the stigma of visiting car dealerships is one of dread but not with Chad! After the purchase was complete I was not able to load the Mazda app on my phone so he called me the next day to walk me through the process. Thats dedication even after the sale is done hes still helping his customers. This guy is a keeper and very hard worker. If you are thinking of buying from Horne Mazda I would suggest contacting Chad Patterson, you wont regret the decision.
I visited this location on 5/8 after receiving a true car offer on the specific CX-5 I was looking for. I arrived and made it clear I was ready to take the vehicle home that night (assuming the price would be close to what I had been quoted). I fully understand that there are tax, title and dealer fees that come along with the purchase of a vehicle but when I was given an out the door price it was over $10,000 higher than the original price I was quoted. This was absolutely shocking considering I’d visited 4 other dealers in the area that day and none of their fees came close to this. I ultimately decided to leave the dealership because I felt uncomfortable. I ended up visiting another Mazda dealership the next day and purchased the exact same CX-5 for over $7,000 less than what Horne Mazda offered.
We drove from Kingman to Tempe to purchase my granddaughter a pre-leased vehicle. Chad was/is awesome. I felt No high pressure sales and his friendly attitude kept us laughing. He took care of us from start to finish even though the finish was after his shift ended 2 hrs earlier. He worked with us and I truly feel he help us get the best car for my granddaughter. He is an absolute asset to his profession. Thank You Chad. Keep up the great work.
Poor service got recall parts on my mazda an set up an appointment for it to get fix take time off work to get it fix then they tell me they dont have parts wow so wasted gas an money from missing work during hard time now how do i pay my bill no communication not happy. just adding to my post not only did I get poor service they even did a poor service took it to another dealership of Mazda I was told that screws on boltswere not tight an missed up alot of thing an I was told it wasnt them when they were only dealership who toch my car wow do not go there for service youll end up with a higher bill which frist it was $2500 an now it $8000 wow
My review is specific to the service department...beware If you have any feedback because you wont be seen or heard.Typically service advisors will come out to greet customers, however when I got there not only did nobody greet me at my car to check me in, but once entering the store not one person acknowledged my presence. However when the next customer showed up, who happened to be an older white male, he was immediately greeted at his vehicle. When I had an issue that they couldnt replicate, I drove with the technician who was condescending and would not provide me answers to help me understand what they did and how they drove the car to be unable to replicate the problem. When I spoke with the service manager, Mike, he came out with immediate attitude as if I was bothering him and shouldnt even be there. I tried to share my feedback and he was completely dismissive. The only individual there who was pleasant and I would work with again is Shelby. The experience could of been completely different if they had explained the brakes were good, had even ware (hence no suspension issues), brakes makes noise sometimes, heres what you can do etc... instead of just we couldnt replicateDid they complete my oil change and change filters effectively, yes. Is their customer service worth raving about, absolutely not. Certainly lost any future business from me and will the trek back to Berge.
Had a great start to my car buying experience. I met with Jenn today, what a true professional. Even though I am just starting to look, I will definitely come back to finishing the deal when ready. She will do a great job for you as well. Give had a try!
While we were pleased with the sales associate we were very disappointed when after negotiating a price on a used Miata Mx-5 we walked in to be hit with an additional $1600 upcharge for optional installed upgrades that were not optional or discussed. Some kind of mandatory sevice coverage plan. This was on a negotiated price of $9750, so over 15% increase over what we agreed to. Walked away.
Shay and Jens were great! Got us a great deal on a Grand Touring Reserve CX-5! Highly recommend them!
Sales rep Alan Appellof – incredible. The best demeanor and approach of any auto sales pro I have ever encountered. Lets the customer think for themself, doesnt push and lead, humane and decent.Levi in the finance office is equally awesome.Have leased from Horne since 2017. Transitioned to a new lease from an expiring one. Although the dealership has new management between those two occasions, my experience has been professional each time and devoid of typical clown-show dealership-isms.One disappointment – in retrospect I did receive less than full fair trade-in value on my expiring lease – had equity between residual value and KBB trade-in owing to low mileage and good condition. It was my error for not informing myself beforehand to counter-offer, but dealers will be dealers. The Mazda experience is transitioning to a moderately upscale brand. A cut above the mass-market utility car mentality and quality. You will not find a more superbly refined compact or mid-size sedan than the current generation Mazda3 and Mazda6, without paying Audi prices.
This is the 3rd car I have bought from Horne Mazda in the past 3 years. This time it was a beautiful top of the line Crystal Red Metallic CX-9 to replace our top of the line 2016 CX-5 of the same color. With our two golden retrievers, we wanted a nimble vehicle, that felt luxurious, and could easily pamper four grown adults utilizing the second row captain chairs. We were a little leery of purchasing something in the middle of the Covid-19 crisis. Our excellent sales manager, Mike Yozzo, talked to us about their cleaning procedures, we flipped each other our keys, and we took it for a nice test drive. This was going to be my wifes vehicle, so we felt like we had plenty of time to check things out. We had narrowed our vehicle choice down to two, and boy am I glad the other manufacturers dealers would not come down on price. My wife loved this car much better and she especially loved she could run around saying the old Mazda motto - Zoom, zoom! because this car handles like a dream and has every option you could want built in. From that point on we made a couple of proposals over e-mail and phone - about 15 minutes a day. (I wanted my PC and spreadsheets in front of me while negotiating.) Within a week Horne Mazda had put together a great deal where I felt the offer for my CX-5, which we loved, and for the new CX-9 with all of its features were exactly what I was willing to pay and at a great zero percent interest. At no time did I fell pressured, nor was I under pressure, because we were only going to buy under a great deal. My son also bought a certified low mile CX-5 AWD from Horne Mazda a year ago. That too was a fantastic deal. We now have 2000 miles and a trip to Palm Desert under our belt and we still could not be happier with the CX-9 and Horne Mazda. We will keep coming back. If I can post a couple of picture you will see my wife between both my old and new Mazda.
My fiance and I came to this dealer a and we dealt with Shay. We had such a wonderful experience, Shay was very knowledgeable and being helpful to us. Hands down the best car buying experience Ive had, will definitely go back and I recommend Shay!!
Wonderful place to shop if you are looking for a brand new or used Mazda. Bought this beauty two days ago and I have to admit that it is one of the best driving cars I have had the pleasure of driving! Not only is it a beautiful car, Greg Warren, from the dealership was one of the most pleasant and easy going sales person I have ever done business with.I know sales people get bad reps, but this man was genuine and really cared to get you the best possible deal. He was friendly, but in a cheerful non pushy way. Greg was also very keen on getting what you needed and within your means without trying to push you towards something that you could not, but still making you feel like you were royalty. Going the extra mile and doing his best to find you your dream car, he was just wonderful.Thank you Horne Mazda, and thank you Greg for the easiest and most pain free buying experience ever!
Bottom line: expect about $2,000 in fees to get a used car from this dealership.I purchased a 2013 Mazda CX5 from them and came in willing to pay the advertised price + taxes and reasonable dealership fees. Their doc fee is an unprecedented $600 (50% higher than AZ averages) and registration fee was $240. Unreal. I asked what the $600 doc fee got me and the answer was a blunt nothing. They also had two installed equipment fees: 1) etched VIN and a theft insurance policy of $2,500, which cost $900. 2) a paint and fabric coverage plan for $300. Folks, everyone knows these are scams and you dont need them, and dealerships are committing bait and switch by installing these and not including them in the advertised price. Also expect them to offer you a laughably bad deal if you pay with cash or your own financing, before offering a financing deal with all the above included + tax.Additionally, despite having recorded via Carfax the battery being serviced 5 days before I bought the car, the battery died, tested bad and had to be replaced the same night I purchased it. Do not trust their service claims. They knew Im active duty military and was crunched for time, and took advantage of those factors despite my willingness to pay the price they advertised. I recommend you stay away, and I certainly wont be coming back for a third car from them.
SERVICE DEPT. Long review but necessary to express my HORRIBLE experience. I brought in my CX-9 to get serviced. I needed two belts changed: serpentine belt and power steering belt. We had the belts changed the afternoon before leaving for California for a weekend trip. As soon as we arrived in CA we noticed a HUGE oil leak. We took our CX-9 to a local Mazda dealer in CA to inspect and they found the engine bay and front engine cover soiled with engine oil. They found the source of the leak and found engine oil leaking front crankshaft seal and the crankshaft pulley had excessive play on surface. The rep at the CA dealer even asked if we had belts changed because they noticed a new belt and stated the crankshaft looked loosed and the damaged more than likely happened when they tried to change the power steering belt. So Horne Mazda tried to remove crankshaft and disrupted the seal. My CX-9 had NO oil leaks prior to this. Unfortunately CA dealer did not have the parts in stock for them to fix while we were in CA.This oil leak took a total damper on our weekend trip! It was our first to CA after COVID we limited our driving because we didnt want to drive our CX-9 with the oil leak and cause more damage.Drove back to home to AZ with the oil leak. Dropped off the CX-9 at Horne Mazda for them to fix the damage they caused. It took them 7 full days to diagnose, replace crankshaft pulley and seal, and perform a 20 mile test drive before the CX-9 was ready. They even had their senior mechanic inspect take a look to make the repairs. They didnt admit they were at fault but they were going to take care of the repairs in good faith. Really?! I was going to refuse to pay for something they broke so I was glad they werent going to charge me.After I picked up the CX-9, drove down Eliott Rd and after just driving 4 miles, the steering wheel locked and would not turn. I barely managed to get off Eliott Rd and park in a safe area but I was NOT able to turn the wheel. I called Horne Mazda back and they suggested for me to get a tow truck to take the CX-9 back for them to inspect but I had to arrange the tow truck myself!Next day, they informed me that they had to remove and replace the power steering belt when they replaced crankshaft pulley and seal. Unfortunately this caused for the power steering belt to fail and unfortunately it wasnt caught during their 20 mile test drive and it only took the additional 4 miles that I drove to completely fail. Mind you, this was their senior mechanic who replaced the crankshaft pulley and seal. I was SO lucky I was not in an accident. THEY are lucky I was not in an accident because this was entirely their fault!!!Long story short, they replaced the power steering belt....messed up the crankshaft pulley and seal....then replaced the crankshaft pulley and seal that they damaged but now damaged the same power steering belt they replaced a week and a half prior!!! How can they screw things up twice?!?! Just wow!
Visiting Horne Mazda was a great experience. My sales consultant Shay was excellent. She gave me a thorough walk through of the mazda cx5 and fell in love the vehicle. She kept the experience fun and full of information. Fantastic experience.
Josh from Horne Mazda was patient, informative, and easy to understand salesman. He took the time to ensure I walked away with the best car for me. He is not the car salesman you see in movies. He will take the time and energy to show you any car that you ask. I never felt pressured to sign my lease. I am so happy with my CX-5 Sport. It may not be the top trim but it fit within my budget and has everything I needed. Overall I could not ask for a better experience for my first car. Thank you Josh for taking the time to show me everything I need to know when it came to my CX-5.
Chad was the best sales rep I’ve ever dealt with! The whole process of trading in my car and getting a new one was so fast I highly recommend seeing Chad at Horne Mazda in Tempe so helpful and nice!
Went to the dealership to get an CX5, sales rep was decent and nice but once we had a price decided, we asked if they could throw in complementary floor mats with the car. Instead of saying no they can’t do that, the sales/finance manager comes out with a print out of an Amazon page for floor mats and very arrogantly says you can get these for $XX on Amazon I am not going to buy you expensive Mazda mats. It could have been just a simple “No we can’t throw in the mats” and we would have still bought the car from them. We walked out instead. They lost a car sale for $200 and a lot of unnecessary arrogance.
I recently purchased a new CX-5 from Chad Patterson at Horne Mazda in Tempe. Chad and the whole team were very knowledgeable, and professional. I had a great experience at Horne Mazda. Thanks, Dave
Chad did a fantastic job helping me purchase my first new car! Highly recommend his services after driving up from Tucson to purchase a CX-5. Overall, happy I purchased with Horne Mazda - thank you!
My wife and I bought a new Mazda 3 here from Berry yesterday. We stopped in on a whim after test driving a used car at a dealership next door to check out the Mazda 3. Berry gave us the most pleasant pressure free and hassle free encounter weve ever experienced at a car dealership. We would highly recommend both Berry and the Horne company to anyone looking for a new car. O and the Mazda 3 is great too!
I went here with the intention to purchase a 2021 Mazda CX-30, listed for $22,500 online. When I got the the dealership and test drove it I was in love. I made up my mind. That was going to be my car. My budget was around $25,000 and we all know cars are negotiable. The salesman Tory did a great job explaining features and seemed very optimistic when I explained the financial situation I was comfortable with. Unfortunately the manager at this location is not motivated to sell. The a manager claimed there was $5,000 worth of add-ons to the car. This felt like a lie because the first add on listed was $800 worth of tinting and the car sat on the lot with 0 window tint. I decided I couldn’t trust that they had actually added on paint protection and the rest of these invisible add-ons. The basically said the lowest they could let the car go for was $31,000. They also made it sound like I wouldn’t qualify for any in house financing because I’m a young first time car buyer. I took my business over to CardinaleWay Mazda Mesa and had a completely different experience. I ended up in a 2021 CX-5 for less than Horne wanted to sell me the CX-30 for, and qualifies for 0.9% financing for 60 months. Their customer service at CardinaleWay is unmatched. My parents have owned over 10 cars in their married life and even they have said that CardinaleWay was the best car buying experience they’ve ever had, and they weren’t even the ones buying the car. It seriously felt like they were taking money off the price just for the hell of it. Don’t waste your time here, take yourself to CardinaleWay Mazda Mesa and save yourself the hassle of dealing with Horne. It will be one of your better car buying experiences. Daniel and Donny at CardinaleWay were my salesmen and they were by far the best people I met over the 5 car lots I visited multiple times during my search for a car.
They were very nice there. So nice in fact that when I needed a part they opened up for me even though the parts people went home and got one of the mechanics to get the part I needed and to ring to me up. That was so cool because I was able to go on my trip the next day
My experience with the guys here at Horne Mazda was more than pleasant! I came in looking at a specific car and was met with Chad as my salesman. This guy is the real deal, was treated as a person and when going over the numbers him, he truly looked out for my best interest. So if your looking for a trustworthy dealership go to Horne Mazda (Horne in general) make sure to ask for Chad Benjamin Jason! He will take care of you and treat you like a human being
I recently purchased a new vehicle from Horne Mazda in Tempe, AZ. the experience was a fabulous one from start to finish. Our salesman was very professional. All of our questions were answered and then some. Tory was actually able to put us in a vehicle with more features then the one we were looking at without breaking the bank by his ability to be creative. You will not go wrong with Horne Mazda.
Editing my review… wrote a poor review for the wrong dealership, when the Tempe location was more than helpful! Thank you guys for your help finding a new car!
Great experience at Horne Mazda, Chad Patterson was great to work with he made my experience pleasant and fast. Love my new Mazda!
Bought a 2016 Mazda from here, after only a year of having it all my tires needed to be replaced. They did not give me a key for the lug nuts so had to break them off because they wouldn’t supply a key after multiple calls of asking for it and they never called back. Now have had it for 2 years and my engine light is on. Paid $100 to diagnose it and they said my fuel injectors would need to be replaced for $1000. It’s only a 2016 so I took it to a mechanic for a second opinion and they said my fuel injectors were in great condition. I don’t trust these guys.
Worked with Shayla and Alan - incredible people who gave us a great experience. Unfortunately, they didn’t have the exact color on the interior, so we didn’t buy from them. If it was not for the color, we would have given them our business. Loved the way they handled things with us but was unfortunate about the color.I’d recommend these folks for your amazing car buying experience.
I bought a used vehicle from Horne Mazda back in June of 2020. Three months later I take it into the mechanic and I find out it needs $3000 in repairs. I contacted the dealership and told them what I found it & if I can get some kind of assistance in the repairs. The only thing they would do is offer me a trade in. I dont want a trade in! All I want is to help with the repairs. Horne Mazdas GM completely ignored me & went silent. They have completely ignored allmy emails and wont do anything.Something to consider Horne Mazda. Do a better job of vehicle inspection before you sell them. This dealer screwed me and I will never come here ever again. I know Im just one consumer but I want to get this message out there. Dont shop at Horne Mazda people.
Me and my sister came in and bought a 2019 Mazda3 this last weekend. We absolutely love the car and want to thank Josh in sales for making the process quick and painless for everyone. We were in and out in less than 90 minutes. For anyone looking for a car, I highly recommend you go to Horne Mazda and ask for Josh. Also, I would recommend the new Mazda3 if youre in the market for a sedan.
Bought a car with broken CD player it couldnt be fixed because I didnt get extended warranty. So upset that they told me it was after the fact of buying 😡 I wish I had a cd at the time of purchasing I didnt think to check. I will be taking car to get stereo fixed elsewhere
Tory K. was awesome, so helpful, attentive and knowledgeable. He followed up on my purchase and made sure everything was great. I highly recommend working with Tory if you’re looking at getting a car! :)
Upon arrival I got all of the information I needed in a timely manner. Our salesperson was knowledgeable and made sure that we got the price we were quoted. The star of the night was Ely who had some of the most best customer service skills Ive ever encountered - not just in car sales but in all of the customer service Ive received. I believe he works in internet sales and if youre going to make a purchase, I highly advise getting in contact with him.
I called in June to see if the car I ended up buying was a popular one, and they said it was. I let them know that Id be out of town at the end of June but I was interested in scheduling a test drive when I got back in hopes that it was still there. They were clear that they couldnt hold it but would keep in touch towards the beginning of July. I got back in town and they reached out before me and asked if I still wanted to test drive it. I said yes, and I took it home that day! My salesman was Alan and he was an angel! It took about 3 hours, but he communicated that they only were down to 1 financial manager so he was doing paperwork for every single person. In the mean time of waiting, we had great conversation. I brought my younger brother so he could see the car buying process and we all bounced from topic to topic without missing a beat. By the time we left, my younger brother said that he wanted to come back and buy a car from Alan specifically because of that interaction. Alan was an angel and is a great human overall! The rest of the staff was helpful too! Since the pandemic has slowed things down, the MVD hadnt sent my license plate and tags so the manager helped send over a temporary one without a sweat or anything. Theyre al helpful. Highly recommend!
Really bad customer service! At the service department! This mechanic are amateurs and people at the customer Service handling fake diagnostics
Called about a car they had listed on Autotrader. I told them I would pay the price they had listed and understood that taxes, doc fees, and licensing fees would be in addition to that. He asked me if I was paying cash. I said I was. The sales man then said, oh yeah well we cant sell it to you for that price unless you finance. Then told me the price would be $1,000 higher. Scummy sales tactics to get you into the door, but then wont honor their own advertised prices. Makes you wonder what else they will lie about. Steer Clear of this dealership.
This dealership is unprofessional to say the least. Anthony the general manager is RUDE! I’d give them some advice NEVER judge a book by the cover. Anthony you should care about your employees closing deals versus your ego getting in the way. Not everyone needs to use your financing.
Over 2 hours for just an oil change. Why even make an appointment?
Parts got shipped to an incomplete address and then straight up lost in shipping; legitimately thought they were just going to tell me to eat the cost, but we were able to get everything straightened out and refunded
The Rudest, most unprofessional sales people in the Phoenix area. Deals quoted online are pretty good but watch out for the additional fees and add-ons.
I bought my first new car here. Admittedly, I already like Mazdas, due to prior experience with relatives vehicles, but Ive never actually owned one, myself, and certainly none of my vehicles came off the line within a decade of purchase. Alex Duncan got me into a 2018 Mazda3 and now I have all these fancy new features! Its given me a new lease on life, to be honest. And the fact that he stayed four hours after he meant to go home to get me in to a vehicle that fit me and my budget is nothing short of heroic. I have already recommended a few people go to Alex for new cars, and will continue to do so.When I was there (late Feb., 2019) the building was under renovation, which may throw some people off, but it added a novel effect to the process, and Im very excited for my complimentary oil change to roll around, so I can see the newly refurbished showroom!
We had a phenomenal experience buying a car here! Chad was the man, and extremely genuine. He made buying a new car easy, painless, and pleasant! I would highly recommend going through this dealership if you are looking at getting a new car 👍🔥
I want to change the wifes transmission fluid and filter. Parts department guy doesnt know if the 2013 mazda 3 skyactiv has a transmission filter, or if it has a gasket or if it uses RTV for the pan. Can someone in the parts department ask the lube tech or the transmissions guy for me? I mean, it only takes 2 minutes to walk down the hallway and ask. Or maybe it doesnt have a filter but they will charge people for it and say they did it. Just like honda civics that dont have a removable transmission filter. 3 months ago, the guys told me it would be 200 bucks for everything. And today they said it doesnt have a transmission filter. So what is correct?
I love the staff always outgoing and making me comfortable by the way my tint looks great
Very friendly and accommodating staff
We drove from Tucson to this dealership (90 miles) because they had lots of MAZDA CX-5s to choose from. Buying a car really comes down to the people you deal with in the purchase. We were fortunate. We got Alan Appellof to show us the car, test drive, and sit down to do the numbers. There was some negotiation. We met Alans boss Ryan, This was all done in an open office with everyone masked because of the COVID risk. We felt very safe. The purchase transaction, all the paperwork and signatures was done efficiently. We love the CX-5. We cant say enough good things about Alan. I have bought over 20 cars in my lifetime, and Alan is the best. He listens well and then helps you select the best car and then works with you to get to a fair price.
Friendly people, good service. Not pushy like other dealerships.
Would put 0 stars if I could. I ordered a part from them online they charged me 20$ to send me the wrong part. I had to pay 47$ to ship the wrong part back to them then they charged 15% restocking fee.
Just bought a brand new 2017 Mazda cx-5 and I love this car!! Before I bought the car, I was looking for about 6 months. Buying a car is very stressful and makes me very nervous. Its something I would prefer not doing but when you need a car, you kind of have to. Ive never owned a Mazda before but had seen the cx-5s and wanted to check them out in person. I went in a month ago and had talked Daniel Jaramillo. He was very kind enough to show us around on a really hot summer day. We walked around the lot, he showed us all the different models, and then we got to go on a test drive. He was very informative about the car which is a plus. He answered all of our questions and really took the time to hear our wants and our needs. We left the dealership with his card and a month went by, I was still wanting to wait a little bit longer. But during that time, I was surprised that we werent bombarded with phone calls or emails about trying to get us in. He did check in a few weeks after to see if we were still interested and that they were having some great incentives. We made arrangements to come in and talk over some numbers. We went back and it was the same customer service friendly atmosphere as before. I loved how we encouraged us to test drive a few more times with the different models until I knew for sure which one I wanted. I felt bad that we were there until after they were closed but everyone was very patient and generous. I must say, for someone like me who gets anxiety over car shopping, this experience was a really good one. I highly recommend coming to Horne Mazda and be sure to see Daniel! Tell him Mike and Carol sent you ;) Overall, I absolutely love my new car, so very happy, and I enjoyed the experience at Horne
Caveat Emptor. Buyer Beware.Nice facility but I left feeling like Id visited a slimy Vegas used car dealership in the 80s.Things to beware of:1. Integrity. The advertised online price on their web page did not match the sales price on my car once I got to the dealer. I feel as if this was intentional just to get me in the door so they could work me over, as they quickly defended the higher price.2. Dealer markup. Dealer added $2,296.00 worth of dealer markup items to my car. These were not reflected on the dealerships web site on the car I researched and purchased. As I walked thru the lot, it appeared these added items were on every car but I cannot say with 100% positivity as I imagine there may have been some new arrival cars elsewhere on the dealership lot that I did not see. So on top of profit they get from whatever deal you reach on the ACTUAL value of the vehicle, they want an additional $2300. LOL.3. Pressure sale to take it as is. No way to decline the dealer added items because its already done (maybe if you custom order a car and specify no additional work before it arrives). The dealership initially refused to budge on the markups. Their justification was the work had already been done. In my case, the only actual work that was done was window tint for $799 (tint Miata windows for $800?? lol) and the glass had been etched with a serial number ($299). An additional $899 for Smart Shield Armor All and $299 for DING SHIELD insurance policies were listed on the dealers Additional Added Equipment sticker.4. Games. I feel they attempted to hide costs by using an “out the door” approach or a “payment threshold” approach. Neither meant anything to me and I focused on a proper deal for their car and my trade in. I had initially reached a tentative “out the door” deal online and over the phone but I then asked for a price breakdown on what I was paying for before coming in. Of course I never received it. They were suddenly too busy to respond with that breakdown in price via email after aggressively emailing and calling me all morning. Here’s your sign… but I ignored it. So I trusted and drove 3.5 hours the next day and I discovered why I believe they didnt send it.The price included the above-mentioned $2,296.00 in markup. I walked out.On the positive side, I give the dealership 2 stars because we were able to close the deal when the dealership did finally give up the entire $2,296 in junk charges on the car. Only after going thru the “sales manager, assistant general manager, general manager” pressure work up and all the time and patience wearing that sales tactic entails.Ironically, that they gave up the $2,296 entirely when I stood my ground and walked away further signifies its actual cost/value.On the negative side, only 2 stars because had it been my parents, or my daughter, or many others buying here...they would have been taken on a dealer profit-ride, left with empty pockets and the dealership grinning ear to ear. The sales and dealer markup techniques left me feeling the only institutional morals were dealer profit. As a side note, the $799 window tint began peeling up from beneath the window seal within a few days of having the car and actually rolling the windows up/down. They will only repair it if I take the day off to drive 3.5 hours to Phoenix and wait while they fix it to then drive 3.5 hours back home (no loaner cars there either...) Imagine how upset Id have been had I actually paid $799 for this $20 in failed window tint.Would not recommend this place to anyone.Responding to Mr. Messmers response below: Mr. Messmer, I did email you, to your email address you have just given, on Dec 21st. You did not and have not responded. I also have corresponded with your managing staff several times regarding this. That you only choose to respond here and not directly to me before I made this pubic critique appears to be just an attempt to put lipstick on a pig. Caveat Emptor.
Best dealership hands down. They really care about their customers. Chad was great and got the deal I wanted! Definitely recommend!
Great place to get you a car and Great customer service
I have been to Horne Mazda Service a few times. The customer service seemed great; informative, patient, friendly. But after getting a totally different quote for a transmission job, Im speechless. I got quoted ~$1000 more than I needed to, even after opting to pay for a diagnostic check to confirm the issue...Earlier this year, I got an estimate of $3000 for various repairs. I ended up opting for $1,500 of that service and waiting on getting my transmission fixed. I was told that for $99, they would do a transmission fluid leak diagnostic and I ended up paying for this. That indicated that I needed to have a $1200 job done on my car, to fix the transmission. I couldnt afford that after already shelling out so much ($1500), so I waited on service, still feeling dumbfounded that my car all of a sudden needed me to spend so much on it when I hardly drove it anywhere, kept it housed in a garage or carport, etc...Recently, I took my car to a different repair shop. Not only was I NOT asked to pay $99 for a transmission leak diagnostic, I was told that I needed DIFFERENT transmission repairs that Horne had told me earlier in the year. (Feel free to view the photos that show the 2 different quotes for transmission service, from 2 different providers.)What this taught me is to shop around more before agreeing to costly repairs, and dont count on a $99 diagnostic to accurately assess an issue. (And dont mention other quotes when getting a new quote; the service shop that I had gone to immediately after Horne--a 2nd repair shop--wanted to see Hornes paperwork and basically quoted me the same amount for doing the same work...it was the 3rd and last service shop that seemed to get things right.)
