Salem is the place to go if you want professional, friendly service.The shop itself gives a very professional appearance and feel. This tells a lot because if a mechanic takes that much pride in the shop, chances are that they take pride in their work. No, you shouldn’t always “judge a book by its cover”. But in Salem Boys case, it is truly representative of the rest of the business.I have used them several times now and they are always on time, call with updates and have never tried to over sell me anything. They will tell you what needs to be done and what else they recommend. They have never told me that something HAS to be done and never made me feel guilty for not doing what they recommend.

Ive been recommending Salem Boys for years and years for a simple reason: theyre honest, theyre professional, and they consistently have techs with the diagnostic skills to figure out even the weirdest problems. And if thats not enough, their labor rates are extremely competitive, theyre great at finding replacement parts other shops cant, and your final invoice never shows up with mysterious fees and add-ons. Brought in my truck in to have a steering gearbox put in along with an alignment for my new tie rods. They put in the gearbox, aligned the vehicle and told me my rear seal on the power steering pump needed to be replaced. Paid an extra $100 for the leak repair. Got the truck back and noticed a few days(hadnt driven the car because it is only used for the boat) later a cotter pin was missing on the steering linkage. Took the it back and said make sure everything else was properly done along with the missing cotter pin. They took the car and returned it within 7 minutes with a new cotter pin in it. After I took the truck home, the next morning I noticed a large puddle of fluid underneath(truck was parked on dark colored gravel before and now was on the concrete driveway). It was power steering fluid leaking from the seal they said they replaced. I replaced the seal(which was old and hadnt been replaced) with a new one in 10 minutes. This owner response is crazy. First of all I am not Paul, and second I have no idea what the a/c talk is about. The fact that several people there cant figure out what happened says a bunch. Interesting that there also is no addressing their not doing the job properly given two tries.

I was referred to this shop by our long-time family mechanic since I just relocated to this area.Ive got nothing but good things to say about this shop. They dealt with a dead animal in my AC (gross, I know) quick and painlessly. The cost was very reasonable, the shuttle was a great service, and they even worked on removing the smell to the best of their ability.Going to the mechanic is not something you typically look forward to, but I will definitely come to these guys again when another situation arises.

I bought a 2001 truck and immediately had front end issues. Had a local repair shop look it over and was quoted over $2000 to change all of the control arms. I took my vehicle in to get a part replaced. I drove it in first thing in the morning and was given a ride to work. I called back during the day and it was finally ready at the end of the day, leaving me without a vehicle for the whole day.A couple days later the malfunction reappeared. I took it in again and Salem Boys agreed to replace it for free, with no labor costs. Again, I was out a full day without my vehicle.When I picked up the vehicle the malfunction was not fixed. I once again brought it in on another day and the malfunction was fixed permanently. The Service person told me that the part was fixed incorrectly the first two times but they figured out what was wrong and fixed it correctly the third time.They also said my cabin air filter needed replacing. I asked how much that would cost and they quoted $83.72. I thought that sounded rather high but I figured if they found something wrong they should be rewarded for finding it. When I got the bill it said labor was $44.80! How long does it take to replace a cabin air filter??? Were they counting the time it took the person to pick the part from the shelf and walk to my vehicle?All in all I think Salem Boys guarantees their work. I would just like anyone who gets work done here to check their bills for labor costs and to question why the cost was that amount.-----02/10/2016----Google reviewers: when making any purchase, whether it be for parts or for service, please get multiple quotes. Dont take my word for it, do your own due diligence to find the best price. In this case the part in question is a cabin air filter, not an engine compartment air filter. I think youll be pleasantly surprised at the prices you find. :-)Or, if you prefer to do it yourself, you can find Youtube videos that will show you how to change your own.

Top-notch shop.

I was referred here from another tire shop out of town. The office is very clean and well decorated. They have free soda and water- whaaaa. That’s always a huge bonus haha. Every single staff member was beyond nice and treat every customer amazingly. They went out of their way to help me. My tire wasn’t in stock, but they had it in their shop in less than 24 hours. Then when I came back to have it put on, I was in and out in no time. No hassle and nothing but a very pleasant experience.

If your check engine light is on dont take your car to this place they charged my wife $100 to read the code. One of my kids had left the gas cap off the day before........ which set off the ck.eng light............ I wish I made a $100 a minute, go to auto zone they will do it for free I just saw your response the order # is 124654 and It was $90 not $100 when I picked up the truck the service rep said that when ever they would get a P0440 code the first thing they would look at was the gas cap and that this was a common problem $90 to put a gas cap back on is a little high $ 5.00 at the most......... I will gladly take $85 refund.......... ITs been two weeks still waiting for that refund I know the mail is slow but two weeks Now going on four weeks still waiting for that refund......... still waiting... now the wife told me its been to long and i will not be getting my refund.. A few other things i forgot to mention they use rebuilt parts and charge you for new parts when i called them on this they said rebuilt are better then new . you be the judge . they charge as much as a dealer or more when you go to a dealer for a new water pump you get a new water pump at this place you get a rebuilt water pump and pay the price of a new water pump. This tells me that they more than likely use rebuilt parts 100% of the time to boost his bottom line....... I have been talking with mark off and on since 2006 . at one time he said he would refund the $ 90 charge but you have taken down that response . Yes I will be putting it out in social media that your shop is a rip off and you have it wrong your staff hung up on me when i called only once . First the wife now the kid whats wrong with mark ? Must have lost his balls.........

Friendly and professional...to elaborate a little, I had a battery drain on my Corvette that I diagnosed my self but did not wish to go digging into the complex electrical system to find it. My local GM dealer was unwilling and/or unable to perform a logical trouble shoot to find it. Charged me 90 bucks and told me it was ok! The next day after the battery was dead again (of course), I called and was yelled at by the advisor when I complained! Aint no bull, my butt! Salem boys located and repaired the trouble and has my business from now on.

Took my 2017 BRZ into this shop to get an aftermarket exhaust piece installed since I dont currently have a garage of my own to do it myself and so far I am satisfied. The process was simple, dropped off my car, got a shuttle home, and a couple of hours later I get a call back saying it was all done. I spent a little more than I expected for the install but I couldnt be any happier how much time and effort I have saved by not doing it myself! Based on my experience, id reccomend Salem Boys Auto.

Scammy place. I brought my vehicle here and something felt off immediately but I went against my better judgement and left my Vehicle. They quoted me a ridiculous 2000+ dollars on all kinds of unnecessary stuff. You wouldnt believe this report.Heres where it gets interesting. I brought my car in for a second opinion elsewhere and they laughed when the read the report and said that these guys at salem had a reputation for doing this. They said the car runs great and just needed some new front tires and a fluid pump. Total quoted cost was less than a quarter what Salem Boys Auto tried to charge me.If you have a look at their YELP reviews (of which there are many many more currently) you will see quite a few complaints from customers for this very same issue.
