This is a great shop. I had an emergency repair of a Toyota Highlander Hybrid. They were able to get it done quickly. Josh was extremely helpful and professional. I would highly recommend this place.

Hey-Tech auto and smog is an outstanding business. I called the day before and they said they opened at 8:00 am and it was first come first serve. I was the second one through the door and I was out of there in 20 minutes. Really nice people, it was a pleasure!!

I showed up needing a smog check. They pulled another car out which was going to take longer to check and did my check immediately. I was out of there in less than 15 minutes. Great experience!

The Hy-Tech team are the epitome of high quality, customer centric service. Angela was very helpful and clear on what we needed to provide in order to pass smog, and she took us right back in once we got what we needed from a couple of quick phone calls to Sinister Diesel and Edge for California Executive order numbers (we were missing the stickers). I will use them for more of my work and have already scheduled an alignment on my JK pre and post Rubicon run!

Do not take your vehicle here to get smogged. I bought my Tacoma from a dealer 14 years ago and have smogged it successfully ever since until this time. They are a Star smog center and will look for every last detail, they said theyve made mistakes like this before but refused to pass me because they couldnt find a number scribed into my cat converter

Repaired our brakes last year. Brake fluid started leaking into the cab. Took it back and they replaced the defective parts at no charge to us. They were very respectful and treated us like friends.

They upload pictures of the fluid tests, issues discovered, and everything from the inspection for me to see online.This place is as great as a double-double with grilled onions 🍔.

Quick, efficient and inexpensive service. I am, and have been for years, a steady customer.

Over the phone, I informed them what vehicle we have and explained the issues. The person I spoke with assured me they are the only shop in Truckee capable of fixing hybrid cars. After being charged $150 for diagnostic service, mailing them my charging cord and paying for tow, they said its beyond their scope and CANT fix the car. So, they wasted my money and time. I will NOT recommend this shop to anyone.,EVER!

These guys are awesome. Highly recommend. Theyve completed smogs on my 2012 Subaru Outback, my girl friends 2002 Toyota Corolla, and today Im taking in my 2018 Toyota RAV4 to have it done here as well. The worst auto smog experience I have ever had. Very incompetent and rude. I will never use Hy-Tech Auto and Smog for anything, in any city. My experience was with Truckee and Stockton. After much time and research on my own. My catalytic converters were fine. They never even took the time to look up their error until I was returning to resmog. I was charged for full smog and only got a visual. To say the least of this circus merry go round, I did not have to pay $1800 for two of my four, catalytic converters. Whos going to pay for all my time and labor doing their work.

Food was good but the kitchen was slow. We were only 1 of 3 tables. Waited 45 no, for breakfast

Thanks so much! Even though they were busy this morning when I arrived, the staff was very professional and got me taken care of in about thirty minutes.

Shop next door was closed, walked in got Smog Cert Service and sent off to get weight on truck with good directions from the Hy-Tech smog guys where the DMV just handed off a paper with no address and a phone number. Finally back to DMV and registration complete in record time. They had some large jobs waiting in the lobby while I was there. Overheard some and the amount of patience and understanding when explaining the fixes and options available to clients was a great indication of the exceptional level of service provided at this shop.

Just go for smog. Was turned away first time I went for any type of mechanic service, just because tech didnt want to work on it, Something I can do and tried just dont own a lift to allow access to fix. Was told they were doing what was best for me and refered me to a diff shop. Because they have a really skilled import tech. Did I mention Im no ase mechanic and can do it with a lift if I had one. So in my opinion just go there if u need a smog and no one else is able to. And go to a mechanic shop where the techs like what they do and do there job well. I do maintenance for a living I cant imagine what someone would say if I was like mmmm yeaaa I could snake this drain but this other guy can snake that drain to and he will do a better job. So call him. I thought they were the place to go in Truckee, but after going to three diff shops in Truckee and getting over charged having power steering fail due to improper service (rack n pinion) an axle bolt falling out and being stripped wich I had replaced 2 weeks prior (not striped)when I replaced axles. I realized to just go back to where I was born and have real mechanics work on them. And to start saving for a lift....life goals. Just go for smog or if u own a Honda.

Do not bring your duramax to smog here they have absolutley no idea how to smog a diesel. Acording to them a duramax has a dpf filter from 07 to 05 wrong they also said a diesel needs a ca eo number for a air intake which is also wrong no diesel vehicle is subjected to CARB regulations on air intakes. Completly wrong on diesels and has no idea on how and what is involved on smogging diesel engines. The only saving feature is they did not charge me anything for a visual smog. Would not recomend them at all.
