These guys are awesome! I was on a road trip with my two young sons having truck problems and needed help. I was in an unfamiliar area and a little shaken up. They immediately looked at my truck and did the necessary work. I was back on the road in no time. I so appreciate the kindness and knowledge of these guys!!

These folks are the best! Friendly, and really great pricing. They looked at an issue on my Tacoma and recommended a transmission specialist for me to go to, and didnt even charge me. Then I got my tundra drive line serviced for much less than competitors in town. Definitely call these folks is you have a Toyota or Subaru

I’m incredibly impressed by Ward & Sons—best car repair experience I’ve ever had. I took my truck in after it died on me on the highway. Morgan was on the phone with me and my dad many times to coordinate after-hours drop-off from the tow truck, which was incredibly helpful. They made two fixes and in both cases the invoice price came in at under the amount they quoted me. I’m convinced most garages would’ve charged me more, just because I had no idea what the problem was and they could’ve billed a lot of diagnostic time and whatever else. They also opted to repurpose a cruise control cable rather than spend extra time and money ordering a replacement throttle cable, which was an integrity move. Overall, they’re super honest, great at keeping in touch with customers, and in general just don’t give the impression of trying to screw you at every turn like some mechanics do.

They helped me solve a problem without delay! Theyre a local favorite.

I cannot say enough good things about this shop!! Family owned and mostly operated. The few workers they do have that are not family..they treat as such! Its a 1 car/truck garage shop! It may not be for everyone but they were awesome for me. Most shops in Truckee cant fit you in last minute but they did for me. Dave had me look under my Subbie and see everything that was causing the issue. They gave me an honest deal and time frame. They exceeded my expectations! One of the only shops I have ever spoken to the tech, office manager, and owner in one sitting. They dont try to rip you off! They even offered me lunch which was super sweet. Overall the shop has good customer service, personal people, fair pricing, and a family type of vibe shop! My kind of shop! Definitely will be going back again!

Best in town! Knowledgeable, efficient and reasonably priced for the area. Ive had a few different trucks that had mystery issues according to other places in town, but these guys have always been able to solve my fix or repair daily issues no possible!

Have taken different cars here over the last several years and had nothing but great and honest service. From sourcing a drive shaft for me and having it sent up from Reno to working on engine issues, transmissions, and cooling. Pricing was always fair and never tried to oversell me on additional work. Great shop!

Dropped my car off here after hours with a transmission issue, when they opened up the next day, turned out they dont do internal transmission work, but they still took a look at it with no charge and gave me an idea of the surface issue, and then let me keep it there for several days while I arranged a tow. Customer service was great, even though I didnt end up being a customer :-)

Great shop. Our Subaru head gasket went out on a road trip from SLC. Ward and Sons was very helpful and got our car fixed up right. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly and helpful.

I was visiting from Southern CA, staying in Squaw Valley and I had car trouble on my way to Reno. I stopped at Ward & Sons Automotive and they were as nice and as friendly as can be. They helped me get back on the road and didnt take advantage of me being an out-of-towner. I definitely recommend you go there if you need automotive help.

With a vehicle that has well over 200,000 miles, and new to town, Im happy to find a mechanic who can keep it going without charging me for a new car in the process. Ward and Sons is an honest business, with very friendly and helpful people. They fit my repair in as soon as they could, and recommended combining two repairs to save on labor. My son recommended them to me, as he had good experience as well.

They werent very helpful but i think they tried

They lost a piece of my engine!!!! Alternator went out and I had to get a tow from alpine. The tow guy recommended these hacks. When we arrived they almost refused to take it because it was a Lexus and probably an out of towner after the tow guy took ten minutes to convince them Im a local, they overcharged me by 40 bucks over what quality automotive quoted. Four weeks later I pull up the hood and these clowns never put back on the engine cover. When I went back, they couldnt find it and had to get one from a junkyard to replace it. When I confronted the kid mechanic that did the work, his response was its just a piece of plastic, bruh. Then when they got the used replacement, Instead of ordering the bolts they lost, they installed it with washers and ace hardware hex head lag screws!!!! This place does half ass work and their customer service is even worse. Who knows how many things they have scabbed back together from the mistakes they make. Never again. Skip the headache. Go anywhere but here.
