Fantastic shop. Locally owned and operated. Unique selection of new and vintage guitars, amplifiers, pedals, gear, etc.that you wont find elsewhere. A plethora of knowledge on tap here. Guitar lessons available also. Drew is great. Hands on and very customer oriented.Runs the business with a personal touch. Hard to find these days. Nothing but good things to say. Stop in and check it out!
The store looks so great. Wonderful selection of guitars and amps. They list at competitive prices and are very knowledgeable. Ive been known to come in to browse and leave with things I cant live without. 🎸
Ive visited the previous location and left a similar review on Yelp in the past but felt like it is time for an update for the new Harvard location- these guys still rock (pun intended)!Since 2020 I have been getting back into playing guitar, and after time spent playing a Pawn Shop special decided it was time to invest in myself and try out some new acoustics. Upon entry I was able to chat with the helpful staff and get questions answered- at no point did I feel like I was talking to a pushy salesman during the process, just fellow music enthusiasts. This culminated in me purchasing a very lovely Martin, and I take pride in knowing that I have (and will continue) supporting a local institution.I WILL be returning and recommending Guitar House of Tulsa, thank you for a wonderful purchasing experience!
Mask nazis! Oxygen loving persons should avoid. I understand. Its their business and they can require whatever they want, despite no city ordinance or valid justification, but if I cant feel comfortable or breathe in your business, you get 1 star. I dont care how many pretty guitars you have.
This place has everything! If you love vintage guitars you need to check it out. If you love cool new guitars you need to check it out. The prices are very reasonable considering what you’re getting! Highly recommend checking it out if you’re a guitar nerd like me!
Ive been to so many guitar shops. From Seattle to Miami... this had the best selection of vintage Fender amps that I have ever seen. My instant favorite shop.
I had to sell my 5 string Ibanez BassThat was in immaculate condition and still in the box.The person at the register was very knowledgeable, he talked to me not down. the fact that it needed a string replaced wasnt an issue. He didnt try to lowball me, we talked for a while and got what I asked for it. I would definitely do business there again
Just bought an amazing Yairi Alvarez for a great price from these folks. Its by appointment only right now, but I called and they told me to come right in. I browsed for an hour and spoke to their super knowledgeable staff as we wandered around their fantastic selection, the place is full of grail items and is practically a living museum. I dont know how many times I said, Oh my God, Ive never seen one of these in real life! Everythings priced really well, no pressure from the staff at all. If youre a guitar nerd like myself this place is not to be missed. Big thanks to Guitar House of Tulsa!
This seems the perfect time to revisit my college-folk-song-guitar-strumming days, but my old guitar is long gone. Looking for an entry level guitar in the $200 range I had been calling around and considering buying a used one. Fortunately I found Guitar House of Tulsa and the friendly expertise of Ty. He helped me zero in on an Alvarez RT26. Im a woman and at 71 I needed to not stress my joints reaching around a large body guitar. I am happy with this guitar that I can comfortably sit on the couch and strum away with. It has a lovely bright sound. This guitar came with a sturdy soft gig bag, but I got a stand so the guitar will always be out and I can easily pick it up and play. Thanks, Ty!
Knowledgeable staff, very attentive. Excellent customer service. Unique shop one of a kind guitars.
They lost a 5000$ sale because they wanted to make me PUT ON A MASK!! Anybody want to sell me a 1967 guild I have 4500? No joke
Nice to meet you Todd..Travis talks highly of you. Thanks for taking care of my brother.
Awesome place, knoledgable and profesional staff.
Beautiful guitars, more than I could afford.
I get that COVID-19 is a concern but Im not sure why I had to be rushed in and out like I was trying to visit someone in the hospital. I actually got Ty to at least let me in and look because I promised I was serious and I had a mask and would follow SDG. I was impatiently ushered through the inventory and did not dare ask to play or touch one much less hook anything up. I told him I could come back but he said just check the website next time. I want to support local business and my first guitar store but if youre going to force me to shop online, there are much better deals and sales people out there. You guys made that decision really easy.
We were excited to visit this store but were stopped and told in the parking lot that people aren’t allowed in the store to browse. Not sure why they have a storefront or why they say open by appointment if they aren’t actually going to let people in.
An absolutely perfect mail order transaction. My guitar arrived expertly packed, detailed, cleaned, restrung, and set up well. This is clearly an honest and contentious dealer.Thumbs up big time.
On Friday I got the bug to go buy a new guitar. I drove straight to the old old location on admiral I had bought many items from them including guitars, guitar accessories, even mech repping their store. When I arrived I was stunned to see they had moved. I was still determined to get a new guitar and wanted to buy from them. I looked up there location on google maps, which listed they were now downtown. So I drove there passing multiple other music stores that I could have just went to but I wanted to be loyal. I arrived to see a sign they had moved to 12&harvard.... I was in only a couple of miles there at the first location. So a little frustrated but being understanding I jumped back in my truck and drove back to harvard. Only to see a sign coming soon. Are you freaking kidding me !!! Google didnt say anything about being temporarily closed!!! I see a phone number to call and set an appointment. So I call and speak to a man, I ask him if someone is at the new location because I want to buy a guitar today. He asked me what guitar did I want to buy?. Man Im not sure I just want something new to replace my current guitar. He says were not doing that right now, with the whole pandemic thing..... Youre not selling guitars??? I understand being cautious during these times. But having horrible customer service, communication with customers, and not helping people support local businesses is unacceptable. I drove directly to Firey brothers where they were happy to make a sale. Guitar has lost a local customer and someone whom was recommending them for years. Tulsa has multiple other places to purchase guitar and music equipment, I would recommend any of them now over guitar house.
Beautiful new location, very helpful staff today checking out a new guitar for me.
I see that you lost a sale because you would require a potential customer to put on a mask. Bravo for you.
Came by with my nephew to have his guitar restrung. The young man that helped us was very patient, helpful, and knowledgeable. Thank you for teaching my nephew about the different picks and strings.
A top quality shop! Not only do they have some really great gear, but the service is excellent, too. I was in town for work, and they let me buy a guitar and play it while I was in Tulsa, then take it back to them three weeks later to have them package it and ship it home for me!
Great place to buy quality guitars. Very customer oriented and I will definitely buy again from Drew and Tye
My dad always talks about when he took lessons here back in the 60s, same location and everything. I took my guitar here for a new set of tuning machines. They had to drill new holes but the work they did and the customer service I received was impeccable. This place cares about their customers, they care about the art of music, and they care about their history. If you need to buy instruments, get them repaired, then come here and support an awesome local legend. You will not be disappointed.
Did a great repair on my 7 string! You guys just earned a new customer.
Excellent selection of vintage guitars and amps. Beautiful new guitars too. The staff was amazing, very knowledgeable.
I have never played guitar before and stopped in today just to browse. The guys there were extremely nice and helpful. Was really impressed with the variety and quality of the guitars... Will definitely be buying my first guitar here!
I called to get a quote on some new strings for my daughters guitar. When we showed up the customer services was amazing!!!! He answered all our questions and even helped us with checking on all of her equipment. There was no way I was leaving WITHOUT SIGNING UP MY DAUGHTER FOR LESSONS!!!! I highly recommend this place for all of your guitar needs (especially if you are new to the game and have no clue what to buy) Thanks guys for the great experience!!!!!!!!
Guitar house of Tulsa recently opened the location in the Tulsa Arts District, and every time I go back they have more beautiful high quality guitars, basses, and amps. This company has been in Tulsa for more than 30 years and has consistently provided high quality used and new musical equipment.Today I purchased a 1972 Fender Jazz Bass which was in fantastic condition. The price was right and the staff was very knowledgeable about the nuances of this Bass and other models in the store. While I was there, another customer came in with little knowledge of acoustic guitars. I listened to his explanations about the quality of instruments they offered and was amazed at his ability to explain technical details in a way that was understood by the lay person.I also learned that they offer lessons! I’m not sure on the details of this, but I’m sure they are well worth it!I will continue to highly recommend this locally owned business to anybody looking for musical equipment.TLDR: amazing selection of rare and vintage guitars, basses, and amps with phenomenal customer service. Highly recommended if you are looking for great quality from a local shop at the best price!
Went in to look around. Selection was SO GOOD I was amazed. Prices were really good too. Especially on the used gear. Got such a good deal on a used Mesa amp that I had to put it on layaway right then. The only small complaint is that it took them a while to figure out how to do the layaway. But it wasnt that bad because one guys on staff talked with me and gave me some great advice. Then I played around with several guitars while they finished up. I doubt I will ever go to Guitar-Mart (Guitar Center) ever again.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good selection of instruments of wide ranging prices and quality. Recommend you visit!
These guys are awesome! Ty gave me a great deal on a new Alvarez. Great service and friendly staff. Dont go to Guitar Center... go see these guys!
Best guys in town to get your guitars or guitar needs. Helpful and respectful to your needs, no high pressure sales, will help you get the right guitar for you. Free advice always given, and a friendly hello.
I cant say enough good things about the original store. Kurt, especially, is helpful and polite, but the whole crew is first-class in my book. However, I have never been treated so poorly by any store in my 45 years of playing as I was by a fellow who was in charge of the Rare & Vintage shop. I came in at 6pm on a Sat night and was utterly and completely brushed-off and ignored while he broke his back to shoot the breeze with his buddy with whom he goes way backIt was unbelievable. I literally could not get him to so much as answer a question. Ill never again set foot in the place.
These guys are so awesome! They set a true example of servanthood and it is unmatched. Way better than guitar center. They have a great selection of guitars and reasonable prices.
What a great place! If you live here in Tulsa, don’t overlook this place. There aren’t many places that have great guitar shops with great used gear a even better prices. If you’re in from out of town, find a way to check this place out. This place is what you hope a guitar shop will be.
Great staff, helpful, knowledgeable. Wont buy another new bass unless its from them. Great buying experience. They care about their customers and what they do and you dont see that very much these days especially with the you know who chains. Stop reading reviews and go see for yourself (or call)!
Thank you Drew And the crew for all the help in making the right choices in gear extremely helpful knowledgeable staff. Courteous and polite understanding that the consumer input is important to them so if you have questions or need of eye candy please go by Guitar House of Tulsa
Great and very knowledgeable staff, they do buy guitars and have a great selection of guitars to buy from. They also provide lessons there, a great place to go to to sell and buy guitars.
Great guitar shop, local vibe and incredible selection. Best selection of guitars in any shop in Tulsa; plenty of vintage and modern guitars amps and pedals. Always something worth seeing when I go in this shop.
Got my Taylor acoustic guitar some much-needed service. Friendly and knowledgable staff did great work and its smooth as butter now, better than new. They have a decent collection of guitars for sale but were happy to recommend a few other places when they didnt have a particular resonator I was looking for.
A great shop with awesome finds! A room full of Taylor acoustics, Fender and Gibson electrics, and plenty of vintage Fender amps that Joe Bonamassa hasnt bought yet! Lots of history with stories to be heard. I will return!
Very good guitar shop. Staff is helpful and very good quality guitars. Plus they are the only shop in town that carries Mesa amps
I travel quite a bit and I always stop in to Guitar House when Im in Tulsa for the service & selection. They always take their time and answer my questions and make intelligent recommendations for my budget and playing style. Never had a bad experience at the Guitar House, great guys!
Great place to find a great, new guitar! Their lessons are fantastic. I take them from Paul, but Id trust anyone there.
I agree with with the vast majority of reviews here. Awesome staff with a solid selection of stringed instruments and amps. Maybe not the quantity of the leading competitor but the quality of the selection is definitively superior. I definitely recommend this place for beginners or anyone unfamiliar with guitars purchasing for someone else. They will be completely honest with you and get you going in the right direction at the very least. #SUPPORTLOCALBUSINESS #SUPPORTLOCALMUSIC
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Wide selection. What more could a person ask for?Great place to go to try out new instruments and amps.
Extremely knowledgeable and friendly staff. Ending up buying an acoustic and also brought my older acoustic in for a tune up. I will probably continue to use this for any guitar needs.
I went in to get my guitar re-strung an was told that they would call me in about a week or so when it was done. I went down the street an got a full service for under $30 an in fifteen minutes.
Bought a drum set from my son great staff very helpful
Guitar House has the greatest collection of guitars... A lot of them are previously owned, but this is no take-what-you-can-find collection of pawn shop rabble; these are curated, finely-tuned, well-tended tools. These guys know how to treat a guitar. Stop by when youre ready to play things youve only ever read about... When you want to touch things youve only seen on youtube. A great collection of excellent amps, and high class stompboxes, as well.
Great selection of guitars and helpful staff.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Great selection of guitars. Great instructors too
Todd Cooke is the coolest guitar slinger West of the Mississippi!!Thank you, brother for working with me today.Youre a class act and loads of fun to talk too.
From Shields Music to Bob Long and now GHOT, its the best in Tulsa. As the Hawaiians say, No ka oi (none better).
Everyone there is super nice and helpful and they do great work. Only place in Tulsa Ill get my instruments serviced.
I will always do business with guitar House of Tulsa, theyre always Fair with prices, and accurate with diagnosis of problems with your musical instruments.
My perfered musical equipment store. A musical retailer you can build a lasting professional relationship with.
Drew has an awesome shop here! Cameron and Tye are 2 legit 2 quit and they really care about what the best guitar is for you!
Imagine guitar center but incredible employees and awesome instruments, the people there know what theyre talking about and that alone makes it better than guitar center, I dont have enough time to list the other reasons making guitar center inferior to here.
If you need something for your guitar this is the place to go. Very helpful staff too.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Large selection new and collectible. One of a kind.
Friendly. Was checking on guitar lessons for my daughter. $80 a lesson, expensive but person who talked to us was nice. Just too expensive, $80 per lesson
Love Drew, Cameron - the whole GH crew. Very knowledgeable and helpful. Grrrreat guitars.
Im so glad I didnt trust the bad reviews this store received. My daughter and I spent over two hours looking at guitars at this store yesterday and couldnt have been better assisted! Cory and Ted were friendly and very helpful! Cory even put new strings on a guitar to see if it helped the sound - and it helped so much that my daughter bought it! The guys were SO patient and helpful as she labored over her decision (it was a MAJOR purchase for her). If I ever need anything involved with my other guitars, this is the place I will go!! Deanne Fort
Stay away. They tried very very hard to sell me a defective guitar. Considering the expertise of the staff, I doubt this was a mere oversight. Upon notifying them of my finding the defect on the guitar, they assured me that the guitar was fine. However, after calling the guitar company and an authorized repairman in the area, I was advised that the guitar was, in fact, defective, and the staff at Guitar House was full of it. It was strange indeed how they had been trying to push this guitar on me (and probably others), even though it was one of the cheapest ones in the store.
Great instructors. Paul Benjamin is great with my teen student.
I have played guitar since I was 13, been to a lot of music stores, Guitar House is a true guitar players guitar store !
Friendly and helpful staff and a TON of guitars and amps!!
Andrew is a cool person to talk with, everybody was friendly and will help you right when you come through the door.
Great staff and wonderful selection! Love the selection of Martins and Taylors.
I bought my first acoustic electric guitar here!
Ive gone into guitar house twice. once to purchase a guitar, and another to repair a guitar i had bought somewhere else. both times, each time with a different employee(1st time Randy, 2nd time Rick), they were rude to me. very rude in fact. i will not be returning. and i will continue to tell others of my bad experience.
I had the best exsperience buying from these guys. Great top emd gear and excellent customer service. Very friendly, knowledgeable and down right amazing.
I would and will shop here instead of Guitar Center where they dont know half of what they have
The staff is very knowledgeable not only in guitars/gear, but also in famous/local musicians and playing technique.
Awesome service and great selection of higher end gear!
Theyre a little high on guitars. But the people are nice and helpful

The restring service was preformed well, but it took 2 days for them to do the service and the guitar came back loaded with fingerprints.
Friendly customer service. Good prices.
