Ive serviced my w123 Mercedes at Silver Star Motors now for almost two years. My first thought is that I probably wouldnt manage owning this car without them. A couple key take-aways: 1) They are thorough: If I suspect a leak and suggest where it may be coming from, they will check that out and check out other possible areas as well. 2) They are efficient. It is a quick turn around:drop the car off, hear about the issues and potential solutions, car is ready. 3) My general impression after bringing my car to this business several times is that I can trust Peter and his team and that they are honest. This is a great place to bring your Mercedes and one that I am grateful for.

Superb service for an out of towner! Visiting from Virginia, had a repair need arise on a Sunday night and had no appointment for a Monday morning. Arrived early and doors opened promptly at 7 am, where I was greeted warmly. The intake process was easy, as I provided basic information about my vehicle and the woman at the desk quickly arranged for me to speak with a Service Advisor. That advisor, Carol Morin, was both personable and professional, recognizing my need to wait for the repair but depart quickly to make the meeting I had come to NYC for. After researching my car in the MB system, Carol informed me of a recall I was due for, some upcoming services, and the potential costs I would be facing as my car ages. She was quick to point out the value in an extended service plan but did so based on the information, with absolutely no sales pressure or upsell at all. In fact, she emailed me the information to consider and told me I could purchase from her or my regular dealership. The work needed was completed in less than an hour, including topping up my fluids and making sure my tire pressures were correct in further recognition of my journey home. Carol was truly wonderful and the caliber of her work and personality represent both Silver Star and Mercedes at the absolutely highest level.

They stated my Benz had a transmission leak and insisted on servicing it, when the problem was a totally different leak coming from the rear main seal. They failed to document a proper diagnosis stating its been discussed by phone. They wont put it in writing!They mis-diagnosed yet another minor issue with the vehicle alleging two failed parts that have actually been recently replaced with brand new parts. They wanted to charge 6X the amount estimated by other specialists. Basically, they covered every part that could contribute to the issue and stated that it needs replacement. The estimate was in excess of 5500 USD (and could be more) is what they stated. An open-ended diagnosis. Unreasonable, and dishonest to say the least.
Continued mis diagnostic and replacing random parts costing 5k so far. Still never fixed the issue. Took it to new mechanic the 5k is gone
I own a 1989 560SL and have a hard time finding qualified technicians. I have tried Mercedes Benz of Tysons and most of their techs dont know what they are doing and the prices are outrageous. I was referred to Silver Star by another 560SL owner. Peter was the first person to walk me through a timing chain replacement and all that should be evaluated before doing a replacement. Most other places just threw a number at me and insisted on changing a bunch of parts that Peter found unnecessary. He took the time to walk me through each step and insisted that I see the broken parts under the chain myself. He took the time and quoted me prices fairly. He also went above and beyond. The car has had many leaks over the last 30 years and he took the time to steam clean the undercarriage at no additional cost. No other shop has ever done this for me. I now drive the car with complete confidence for the first time in many years as I dont need to worry about a timing chain break or slip. Even though his location is far from my home, its worth the extra drive for the quality of auto care they provide.
Phenomenal customer service, quality work, and much more affordable than A dealership. Peter the owner, is highly knowledgeable and will never charge you for something that is not needed. Extremely honest and efficient. I would highly recommend any Mercedes owner to go here!

Had them flush my transmission fluid and replace it in the past and all was good. Called to schedule another flush and replace and they insisted on servicing my transmission . they stated that a transmission flush reuses my old fluid.I have been lied to before and I was lied to again.Run away from this place.

I am so impressed and happy with this place! I got a flat tire and pulled in here to get it fixed and the owner was so kind and helpful! I would have had to cancel a trip if they didnt stay a little later on a Friday and help me out. I have a c300 and an slk230 and I have had service here before and the prices were always fair and much less than the dealerships. The service I receive has been superb and they have never tried to sell me 729393 other things that I didnt need. Great value and quality! I am never going to let anyone else touch my cars.
No one knows Mercedes like Peter at Silver Star Motors, especially if you have an older Benz like I do. He always fixes everything right the first time. Hes very honest and tells you what you need to fix and what you dont need to fix. I trust Peter 100% and have been going to him since 2002.
I took my 1988 560SL for the first time to Silver Star Motors for a fuel distributor replacement. They did an excellent job for a reasonable price. As mentioned in other reviews, Peter does not come across as someone pushing unnecessary repairs. Overall very happy with my first experience.

After an unpleasent experience at the Mercedes Benz in Tysons I took it to Peter & his team. I couldnt be happier and am almost thankful that they were so bad at Tysons or I might not have found Silver Star tucked away in Vienna. I refuse to take my car anywhere else.
Peter is an honest shop owner and has techs who know what they are doing. Peters crew did a complete transmission fluid replacement on my C55 AMG for a fair price, and, although the C55 was totaled and I didnt have any chance to bring it back to Silver Star for service, on numerous occasions Peter discussed potential trouble areas with my car over the phone and was kind enough to do this without complaining or being short. I would absolutely recommend this shop to any German auto owners. It is the kind of place you can feel safe bringing your high end vehicle, whether it is a one year old CLS63 AMG or a 10 year old S-Class.UPDATE 2/9/13:I took my 2005 Chrysler Crossfire SRT-6 to Peters shop for a coolant flush and transmission fluid change. Efficient work for a reasonable price. Silver Star still impresses. The only reason I wanted to update this review from Excellent to Very Good is that the shop did try to upsell me on replacing a supercharger intercooler pump for a whopping $1200 that I had literally installed the day before bringing it to the shop. That part costs roughly $130 (on the high end) and takes about 30 minutes to install. I know its a business but I have come to trust Silver Star and I was surprised by this. I will still take my cars back here, but word of advice: make sure you price shop at one or two other shops on anything youre quoted that isnt what youre expecting (e.g. if you go in for a coolant flush and are told you need your engine mounts replaced - check on the engine mounts with another shop for pricing/need for the work). This is not exclusive to Silver Star, you should do this with any mechanic.
