Richard and his team are top notch and always happy to help at a moments notice. They always give me great service for my vehicle. I even popped in between services for a warning light and they had no problem with me stopping by for a quick check. I greatly appreciate this team and know my vehicle is in good hands. Thank you for the stand-out service!
Excellent shop. Honest, trustworthy owner and mechanics. Quality work. Reasonably priced. Clean shop and waiting room. Richard is the owner and has 35+ years experience and sets the bar high for his mechanics. They tow the line and are trustworthy, knowledgeable and completely transparent about what your car needs and what can wait. I am so thankful to have found Tysons Auto Specialties. Ladies, you will need to look no further for an honest, reasonable mechanics shop. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Barb G.
Chuck was super nice, I dropped by 5 min before they closed and he came out to check my “check engine” light after he suggested I bring it by to be safe. When it turned out to just be a crack in my gas cap, I felt relieved. He also suggested he order one and could replace it at no charge. Very kind!
In one word, Id describe this shop as Trustworthy. Richard is very straightforward and honest, and you wont find a shop that gives you such great quality for their prices. This is absolutely the place you should check out whether for issues big and small alike.
Excellent, honest customer service. Despite being short staffed, Richard squeezed me in for a flat tire and wouldnt accept payment when the issue turned out to be minor. Also for previous car repair work, I had compared quotes with other shops and Richard offered competitive rates. Highly recommend this auto shop.
Excellent! Honesty and Integrity. Richard is the best. Rare to find honest mechanics anywhere. Will definitely use for future mechanical issues.
Thanks Richard for the wonderful service of my 4Runner. Prices are the best, communication is top notch, and the team is extremely personable. Highly recommend, will be returning for all service needs.
I’ve been coming here since 2002. Every time I took my BMW to a dealer they charged a BMW price and usually broke something else or didn’t adequately fix the issue. TAS has never failed to do the job right the first time at a price that is fair. One time when I accidentally flooded my car I had it Towed to TAS because it wouldn’t start. They charged me for the labor (less than $20) and I was in my way in a few minutes. They could have easily said some mechanical technical stuff and charged me $100s more. Tom Ivey and now Richard Cottingham run a great business with long term employees that they treat like the professionals they are. You don’t need to go to a dealer for anything other than recalls, warranty-covered work, or occasional electrical device issues (Richard will let you know if you have to go that route). Save your money, your sanity, and your car by coming to Tysons Auto Specialties.
Richard is awesome! I came in to install shocks, spring spacers, and a steering stabilizer for my 2016 Jeep Wrangler. He had the most reasonable pricing and did it within 24 hours. Amazing. Also caught an oil leak and repaired it too. This place is very professional and courteous. Will recommend
Great people but the prices are about the same as what you would pay at the dealership. Came in thinking I would pay $70 and ended up paying $120! Triple check and make sure you know the price before they start work. I asked once but I should’ve asked 3 times
You need to make this Auto Shop your garage for all your car care needs. Richard and his team are personable and put the customers needs as their priority. They are able to quickly diagnose / identify any challenges your vehicle may have prioritize and fix them to get you back on the road feeling safe and secure. Don’t think twice - this shop is fantastic!
Richard and his team are fantastic. They did a pre-sale inspection on a vehicle I was considering and they squeezed it into their schedule. While I ultimately did not purchase the vehicle (CARMAX did not have the proper history for the vehicle - more than one owner and most of the warranty gone) I was very pleased and confident with Richards inspection. When looking at another used vehicle - Ill bring it to him again... he is a trusted advisor!
I have never met such an honest and honorable establishment. The owner tells you his recommendations straight up and honest, I am a female that has no vehicle mechanics knowledge and the owner ensured I was given the best advice possible to move forward. As long as I’m station in this area, I know I have a reliable mechanic to bring my car to!
Great job as usual! Ive been coming here for a few years now (since I moved to the DMV) and I cannot tell you how nice it is to find a reputable, competent, trustworthy and fairly priced mechanic. Ive gotten oil change, a main service, had some repairs done to my engine, etc. and each time I have received an honest assessment and a great service or repair. I have already recommended a few friends already and would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a shop.
I was buying a used vehicle and wanted to get it checked out by a third party before purchase. Richard and his team were fantastic! They talked to me about the car and came across as very trustworthy and reliable. Richard gave me good advice to ask the dealership to replace all 4 tires, so I told the dealer they needed to replace the tires, or provide a discount that would cover the cost. They agreed to replacing the tires. :) Thanks, Richard!!
When the shop Id been using for more than 10 years just up and closed without a word, I was nervous about finding someone I trusted as much. Fortunately, due to great reviews here, I picked Tysons Auto specialties and theyve been spectacular. Very pleasant and professional, and I never feel like theyre trying to up-sell me on anything. And my car is running great! You can feel comfortable choosing them. Thanks!!
Ive been taking my cars to Richard for over 20 years. I wouldnt go anywhere else, and recommend him to everyone I know. Honest, quality service. They look out for you. Richard saved me $11k once by not opening the engine case until I took the car to the dealer - engine had to be rebuilt, under warranty. It cost them $11k, it cost me $100. If he had looked at the engine, it wouldve violated the warranty and the cost wouldve been on me. Ill never go anywhere else
Really great shop. Highly recommend. They do great work and are honest people. (Also, if you are worried about COVID, they were disinfecting keys and cards before they hand them back to you, an extra detail I appreciated). They will recommend what is necessary and not try to push for anything that will not add value to you. After I picked up the car, I was just out in the parking lot checking things out and they came out (even got on the ground) to show me exactly where they worked on and pointed out some parts that I was not familiar with.
Very pleased with the service and level of professionalism. Will definitely be back.
I always go to Tysons Auto for the required maintenance appts on my husband’s Mercedes as well as mechanical service and repair on my car. I trust them to do the work correctly and be honest about what should be done and what NEEDS to be done. Thank you guys for working hard and doing a good job.
I have been bringing my very old car to Tom and Richard, and their staff, for almost 15 years. I love this place. I will never, ever, consider taking my car anywhere else. If I got relocated to Baltimore, Id still bring my car to them. They are the real deal: honest, kind, detail-oriented, automotive experts. I am so grateful to them for keeping me, and my car, safe. I never worry about anything when my cars being taken care of by them. LOVE THEM.
Richard and his staff are great. Ive been coming here for alittle over a year, and had multiple services done. Every repair or maintenance check has been done with professionalism and care. It’s really has a small business feel. They sprayed cards and keys with sanitizer as well.
I’ve used Tyson’s Auto Specialties for 8 years - and they have always been friendly, on-time and easy to work with at a reasonable price. Really everything you could ask for from a car mechanic. I always recommend them to my co-workers and don’t take for granted their honesty and reliability in what can we a tricky business.
Very helpful and pleasant staff. Richard was great at explaining the issues with my car and really went above and beyond as did the rest of the employees. Defiantly recommend and will be returning. Thank you again!!
Great service. Quick, efficient, and extremely helpful
Great, honest mechanics. Refreshing experience after dealing with dealerships and scam-mechanics.
I have been taking my car here for years! The service is great. Richard always calls you first with an estimate and the shop stands behind its work. Pricing is fair and Richard is happy to explain any work that needs to be done or is recommended. My car has finally reached a point where it’s not worth it to keep investing in repairs and Richard gave me some great advice about shopping for a used car. I will continue to use this shop for any future vehicle work.
Theyve helped me keep my 17-year old Mercedes ML350 running well at a reasonable cost.
I was able to make an appointment and get in to the shop within a day. Richard was very helpful and made sure I understood exactly what work needed to be done, even giving me options on what could be fixed that day vs in the future. Pricing was more than fair, there was never any pressure to add services. I won’t be going anywhere else to get my car fixed!
Rich was professional and helpful! I typically drop off my vehicle before I head to work. They are very accommodating to my work schedule and allowed me to pick up my vehicle after hours. Also, they offered to drop my car off for state inspection and even for a car wash.
It is nice to find a honest car shop these days. Tom was very helpful. He explained me everything that could be happening very clearly (I had an idea of what could be happening and he agreed with it). They fixed my car on time, which is another good thing. The prices are fair and reasonable, much less than what the dealer estimated me by phone for the same work.
Great place and staff. Very courteous and professional on the phone and in person. After many disappointing experiences with mini service in Sterling, it was a great relief to feel that I was being given honest advice and not being ‘upsold’ anything. Richard is friendly and informative, and not only him: on the first morning as I was waiting at the counter a mechanic came over to ask me if I was being helped. Would recommend to anyone and will definitely make this my regular garage. And car seems to be working perfectly.
I went to Tysons Auto Specialties because of their good online reviews, so it seems only fair to leave one for others to read. The work is really well done here, and they are careful to explain everything. But probably the best thing is that each person is treated really well. Tom and his team take very good care of their customers. When you dont know a lot about cars, you want to feel that you arent being taken advantage of, and you also dont want to feel stupid! Thanks to Tom and his team for their good work.
Took my car in for routine service as well as to have a few issues diagnosed. Richard was the gentleman who took care of me. Personable service and gave me a clear description of my concerns and what needed to be done vs. what wasnt a necessity; something I really appreciate. I came to these guys because of their good reviews and their long standing reputation. Its hard to find a quality and trustworthy mechanic so Im appreciative of the good service I got here.
Brought my 03 Town Car in with a troubling problem with the A/C. It took a while to diagnose, but the solution was a new compressor and some new sensors. The sensors were provided incorrect data to the computer which meant that the coldest air coming out of the vent was around 65 degrees even on the warmest days. A lot of other shops would have just replaced the compressor and moved on. These guys are great!
Good service and easy to work with. Tom, Richard, and their team really care about their customers.I recently had some tire replaced. The results were great and Richard made the process the simple for me. I really felt that they cared; they didnt just say it, they showed. My only constructive comment/suggestion would be if they could offer weekend and/or after hours. After hours time isnt a big criteria for me, but could be for some that arent as flexible with their work schedule. At the same time, they do offer rides to work if needed, so you could drop off your car early and catch a ride from them.Keep up the good work guys! Ill definitely be back!
Great customer service. The team is very thorough with explaining what work needs to be done and how it will help the performance of your vehicle.
Honest and personable. Its nice to find a mechanic you can trust. Many times trying to shop for the lowest price will burn you in the end and in some cases they will feed you repairs that are unnecessary. I came in with one issue, and they resolved it quickly with no issues. Much appreciated.
Trusted, reliable, and Nice :) Richard the Owner and lead mechanic gives it to you straight. They are practical about what needs to be done and realistic about how busy they are/when they can get your stuff done. My go to place for all my cars!
Great service. Friendly. Attentive. Honest. Reasonable cost. AC repair. Up front gave me best to worst case scenario with costs in mind. Repair was done correctly which I am thankful for in this hot weather. Would highly recommend.
I have been a loyal customer of Tysons Auto for many years, starting with the time when they went out of their way to diagnose and fix a problem that had confounded other mechanics. I can always rely on them to take care of me and my car! Plus the location right near the metro is a new added bonus.
Finding Tysons Auto Specialties has been a great relief to me. So many times in the past I have felt taken advantage of my lack of understanding of cars and because I am a woman in the past. At Tysons I am treated with respect, well informed and fairly. The pricing has been very reasonable, the turnaround very quick and the work very solid. I also appreciate all of the little things they do, like topping off the fluids, checking the air in the tires, etc. I would and have recommended them to anyone.
Best auto service experience Ive received in many years. They are honest, professional, and thorough. Would give them 6 stars if I could!
Highly recommend this small business with professionalism and integrity!!
Great service. Richard and his guys had mu truck in and out a day ahead of schedule! They replaced the starter on my Mazda truck and Ive had no problems. Thanks.
The were able to fit me in before the holidays and were efficient and affordable. They helped me pass my safety inspection and gave me helpful advice. They are not out to gouge you for money, which is refreshing. Very trustworthy!
TAS has provided great service with trustworthy advice for my vehicle maintenance. They dont try to up-sell you! And, I try to avoid Tysons Corner traffic as much as possible, but go the extra few miles from Herndon just for the great service.
Tysons Auto is professional and honest. Im happy to have a company I can trust to make recommendations.
Great work this week - they put in new ball joints and lower control arms. Work was completed on time as promised, and their rates are reasonable (not cheap, but reasonable). Finding a good mechanic shop like this is worth gold! Tom takes his business and customer care seriously.
Charged Rachel R. $56 to read error codes, which AutoZone does for free. Charged her another $56 to install a battery after convincing us it was needed to leave the shop, despite requesting to do it ourselves. Well played, hopefully they got a good dinner out of me. Wish we were wined first.
A bit extreme in their evaluation of the vehicle. I quote “the car should be driven straight to impound lot” if the car wasn’t fixed immediately by the mechanic. Ended up taking the car to another shop, where they told me the car was fine to drive. Still driving 3 months after. 2 stars because they didn’t charge for evaluation and the mechanic was very nice.
This is the best auto service Ive received in decades - prompt, transparent direct, all business,, and communicative about options for problems that need fixing, including a specific recommendation to go to another vendor for a cheaper alternative that Richard and his team could not do on the spot. I
My daughter was visiting VA for work when her car decided to blow-up in her words. Ive done a lot of my own work so I had her send me pictures. Sure enough everything was covered in what appeared to be a brown liquid which I thought might be oil. Long story short I hopped on the web to find a local shop. TAS came up and was highly rated. I called and talked to Tom who assured me hed do what he could. I had my daughter limp the car to him at 2pm. That same day he called to say the car was fixed as it turned out to be a heater hose that blew out. He could have told me an oil line had blown and I would have had no choice but to take his word for it. In this day and age, an honest mechanic is about as rare as a REAL Sasquatch sighting. I wish I lived closer because hed surely get all my work. 100 thumbs up for honesty and integrity! Thanks Tom!
Richard and his staff are great. Honest and easy to deal with.
Amazing service. These guys do honest work and will give you a great deal. I dont like discussing prices, but I will say that Im shocked at how low costs have been on my previous visits.
Trustworthy and transparent, they communicate promptly to prioritize what is necessary and what is optional. They are 20-30% less for regularly scheduled maintenance for my two Audis, and while they dont offer loaner cars, I am not getting gouged for parts and labor rates. I also use and recommend them for Tire Rack shipments and installation.
I called this place based on the reviews and couldnt be any more satisfied with the service. Both Tom and Nick are very easy to work with and want to see you get the best. I needed my timing belt replaced but I wanted them to give it a once over as well because it is a newly purchased used vehicle. They called me with the inspection results and we talked parts, service and out the door prices; out the door prices are my favorite part. I told him what I wanted to move forward with and what I wanted to wait on, and he didnt push the issue. Based on this experience I will be coming back.
When my 10 year old Tahoe needed to be serviced to build for another 10 years TAS did it all. New belts, fluids, brakes, and more. I have continued using TAS for inspections, A/C, heating, wiper controls, tire issues, and more. Year after year their Technicians have been excellent mechanics but also with superior service by simply listening to your every concern. I trust them for their honesty and their persistence to solve your problem and offer alternative solutions when cost is an issue. outside of that, their prices are fair and either at or below market value.
Great experience. Did the service special (good value) and dealt with the owner himself. He showed me tires that needed replacing and explained why but was not pushy at all. Made me want to come back!
Tysons auto services were a wonderful team. I had to get some parts replaced and wanted an estimate first. Tom and his team asked me to bring in my car early in the day and gave me a free estimate within an hour. They completed the work within 4 hours. I have no doubts about their quality of work but I appreciated their honesty and business ethics the most! This is going to the place I go from now on!
I have been taking my Audi A4 to Tysons Auto Specialties for years. I prefer them to the dealerships for non-warranty work. They do excellent work for a fair price and are very friendly, courteous, and most importantly, honest. I highly recommend them.
Tysons Auto Specialties has kept my 2002 Ford running smoothly. You can rely on them to take you on time, give you a comprehensive and timely diagnosis, honestly advise you re what work can be delayed, and give you quality work and a fair price. I recommend them to all my friends in the area.
Brake ProblemSuddenly began hearing a grinding steel against steel noise when braking which continued after releasing the brake pedal on my Jeep. Called Tyson’s Auto Specialties describing the problem and made an appointment. The problem was quickly diagnosed (brake calipers were not retracting and grinding against the brake pads). The calipers, rotors and brake pads all required replacement, along with new brake fluid. Tyson’s Auto Specialties accomplished all needed repair work in a day and my Jeep is now noise free and the newly installed brakes work perfectly. Tom, Richard and the team are all true professionals who explain everything and then, do only what’s needed. Been going to Tyson’s Auto Specialties for decades, it’s well worth a visit by anyone with an automotive issue requiring professionalism, accurate diagnosis and repair.
(February 2016) Honest assessments of what NEEDS to be done, timely turn-arounds and an excellent product out the door! Weve been clients of Tysons Auto Specialties for over 25 years and we wont take our cars to anyone else! Tom, Richard and their crew are the BEST!More recently (mid-May 2016): Once again, Tysons Auto Specialties resolved my issues with no muss, no fuss, no bother - and no suggestions for unnecessary work. I STILL love these guys!
Quality, honest service at very reasonable rates. Tom goes the extra mile to provide superior service. You will not be disappointed.
Highly recommend! My car start shaking while we drive above the highway near Vienna,VA.So I was drove slowly to the nearest Auto Service shop (Tysons Auto Specialties) . The owner coming out of the shop and exams my car and went back and forward inside the shop with his mechanic to diagnosed my car where the issue was( #3 ignition coil) and I was told him we from NY and had booked the hotel at Williamsburg tonight. He said today he has one mechanic only, not able to complete this job on time. But he recommends his neighbors Auto Tech of Tysons, Inc. He wasn’t accepted the tips I given him and just told me to save time to the Auto Tech… so we was so lucky to get the car fixed and continue on our trip. The owner of Tysons Auto Specialties simplify our life to trusties.
I had a screw in a tire. They assessed it and explained that it couldnt be fixed and why and because they wanted to save me time recommended I go to Firestone and buy the tire there! You cant ask for a better mechanic!
Tom has been excellent every time I bring my car in for servicing. His crew has always had my car done when they estimated it to be finished, and I have never had a problem with the work. Tom is superb at being the public face of the shop and if I wasnt moving away from the area I would certainly continue to go to Tysons Auto Specialities. You do need to plan ahead and schedule regular servicing, but you will not regret the wait!
My family has been taking our vehicles to Tom and his crew for as long as I can remember . . . The service is great and you never feel like your being mislead or pressured into services. Have referred a number of friends new to the area and they too were extremely impressed. Keep up the great work!!!!
Seem thorough in their estimates, but dont recommend anything unnecessary. No issues with their work and has always been on time. Reasonable prices.Convenient location (for me at least), just wish they were open past 5pm.
Honest work----very hard to find in the auto repair industry! If you want to keep your car running smoothly for the long haul, Tysons Auto Specialities is the place to go. It is good to have a shop where you can go for both routine maintenance and those unexpected repairs without getting ripped off. We have been taking our cars there for over 20 years and never had a complaint!
Honest, fast, high quality work. Take your car here before the dealer. I can’t recommend them more highly.
Tom and Richard and their crew are great. I have 3 decent cars that are getting a bit old, but Tysons Auto keeps them running just fine - which is a lot cheaper than buying new. I am always happy to pay for good service I can trust, and they have proven time an again that they would rather have happy customers than trying to squeeze a few extra bucks onto a repair. They tell you whats needed soon and what can wait, and let you decide based on your budget - no pressure.
Usually I dont leave reviews for businesses, but without the kind and dedicated folks at Tysons Auto Services our familys 23-year-old Volvo would be in the scrap heap by now instead of celebrating another year on the road.Everyone at the shop is kind, knowledgeable and personable. Thanks for everything!
Thanks to the entire crew at Tysons Auto Specialties.... The boss and owner was away, so I was interested to see if the level of service and customer concern would be any different that when the boss was there. True to form, they were expecting me on the day of my appointment, and even though I showed up a little late, because my ride arrangements werent working, they started on the vehicle right away. They found that I needed brake work on the front end, to pass the inspection and that was accomplished in time to get the inspections and emmissions done and now my care is running smoother and the brakes arent grabbing any more! Good job by the crew when the boss wasnt looking. Tysons Auto Specialties is a CLASS ACT!
Great service and pricing. Discovered Tom and this place when my battery died. Always honest about real problems and cost. Easy to get in
I have a long standing relationship with Tom, Richard and their talented group of technicians and never once have they disappointed me. They always do a great job for a reasonble fee, and they do so in a most friendly and accommodating way. Most of all, I know that I will always be treated fairly, honestly.
I bought a car through Craigslist and brought the car in to be inspected by Tysons Auto Specialties. From the very first moment you can tell that Tom is honest, knowledgeable, straight forward, and takes pride in his business. Even though Im certain we were a pain in the butt and our job didnt make him much money, he still was more than accommodating, did a thorough job, and made us feel confident that the car was evaluated correctly. I would trust Tom and crew with any of my vehicles.
I generally only review a business like this after visiting multiple times. So far Ive had nothing but good experiences with this mechanic. Everything is quick, the staff is polite, and my car is kept running.
Got my tires ( Continental True Contacts) replaced here. Ordered them on Tire Rack. These guys are mentioned as preferred installers on tire rack. Got the tires delivered on the next day of placing the order. I called in to schedule an appointment once the tires arrived. Tom has managed to find a slot for me on the same day. Installing 4 tires cost me about 100 dollars. Delivered the car soon, within hours. Did a good job on the tire installation. Will visit them again for all my auto needs.
Long overdue, but here goes: My wife and I took our Honda Civic to Tysons Auto Service for brake problems earlier this year. Great experience!- Amazing customer service. Tom Ivey is a great person to work with, and he holds his staff to the highest standards. There was no one-size fits all approach -- Tom worked with us as if we were his only customers.- Great repairs. Problem solved, brakes work great!- Great cost. At least $250 cheaper than the Honda dealership across the road!- The extra mile. Since my wife dropped off the car, Tom personally drove her to Starbucks nearby so that she wouldnt have to wait at the repair station.Everybody talks about finding that one great mechanic they will ALWAYS go back to. Tom Ivey and Tysons Auto Specialties is that for me. Thanks, Tom!
For many years I have gone to Tysons Auto Specialties for my car repairs. Tom and Richard are true professionals: committed to customer service and satisfaction, have a long, lifetime of auto repair experience and expertise, honor their commitments, communicate effectively and are honest in their dealings. You cant ask for anything more. Was this review …?
I just took my car in to Tysons Auto for routine service and tire rotation. Not a day later I misjudged a corner and hit a curb HARD, really hard. I was concerned about it affecting my alignment and spoke to Tom. Of course he said he would be happy to take a look at it to make sure I hadnt done any damage, but in the meantime he told me what symptoms to look for that would indicate a problem and helped ease my mind.
Fifteen year customer, four vehicles. Always done right. Always tries to find efficient ways to maintain. Always charges less than I expect. Never lets me down.
The only one to use!! Ive been a customer for more than 9 years and would not ever go anywhere else! Tom & Richard have always bent over backwards for their customers and certainly have helped me make better car decisions. They are the only really honest and candid mechanics I know. I have recommennded them to dozens of my friends who are very happy! No one has ever complined about Toms shop except one idiot who didnt listen or do what Tom suggested. Anyone who drives a car should be happy to have Tom watching out for them - he has saved me thousands of dollars.
I’ve been visiting this shop for the last year (have had a couple of trips). I have a 2001 vehicle with 180K+ miles and had been ripped off by another mechanic near my apartment doing my first ever Virginia safety inspection, so I was skeptical about auto shops as a whole. Took it in and Tom gave it to me straight — no selling products or unnecessary pandering. He told me what he could do and approx how much it would cost and how long I could probably wait/put off the repair without issue. Every time I’ve visited him, appointment or not, I have gotten excellent, timely, honest service. He always calls to discuss the issue and the potential solutions; he’s never tried to push on without my approval no matter how big or small the problem. There is no other mechanic I would want fixing my car and I will drive the extra miles from Ballston to Tysons just to see Tom and his team!
I have been taking my vehicles to Tysons Auto Specialties for 3 decades (started going in early 90s), when I lived in Arlington, but worked in Tysons corner, I worked there for 18 years, but then moved out to Herndon, both work and home, but still take my vehicles to Tysons Auto Specialties. I would follow Richard and his team anywhere in Northern Virginia! Thanks to the team there for solid work on a variety of cars I have owned through the years, including 1970 VW Bus*, 1982 Audi 4000, 1988 Honda Accord, 1995 Jeep Wrangler, 2001 BMW 330CI*, 2003 Toyota Land Cruiser*, 2015 GMC Yukon XL Denali* (* Indicates these are still owned and maintained by Richard and his team!).Just this week, thanks to terrible quality by GM, my Front shocks went bad only 60K miles in on my 2015 Yukon XL Denali, and no telling how long til the rears were going to die. Cost for new front shocks... $2000... cost to convert all 4 shocks to conventional non GM Magnetic stuff... $1800. I went with the conversion. Ride is better than ever, and I thank Richard for bringing that option to my attention. Everything I read online in forums, etc all recommended the same action to continue to avoid costly repairs on the OG shocks. Customer for the past 27 years, customer for life! AL Hering
The BEST place to take your car! Reasonable prices and more importantly, incredible service.
I am pleased with the service they provide. In my first visit, the technician who received car (I forgot his name) from me immediately spotted that my car is low in oil even before opening bonnet and added a little bit without worrying if I will pay for it or not. Richard is one who worked on my car and replaced alternator. There was a hiccup which delayed car return but I wont blame it on them. The replacement alternator was bad one and it created unwanted vibration. I quickly find it after I got car back and return to them immediately and they were quick to confirm that there is something wrong with new alternator. They fixed it next day.
I started going to Tysons Auto Services about a year ago. Another shop had told me that I need about $2,000 worth off work done to my Infiniti. After checking the car over, TAS informed me that all I needed was about $200 of work. A whole year has gone by and I have never had to have any of the other work that the other shop recommended. Its great to find an honest repair shop!!!
You know how you can never REALLY trust an auto repair store to tell you the truth? Everyone is always looking for a way to squeeze a couple extra hundred dollars out of you, right? Tysons Auto Services is the emphatic exception. After taking my car to the Tysons Honda dealership for a routine service inspection, I was told I had over $1,000 in upgrades and repairs that were necessary. I caught word of Tysons Auto Services from a work colleague, I took my car there for a second opinion. I was told there that it would only cost $200-$300, and that I was not putting myself in danger by not making the other necessary repairs. Since then I havent gone anywhere else, nor do I plan to -- even after moving from Tysons to South Riding. In a place where cost of living can take its toll on your wallet, its always good to have someone you can trust in the auto service industry. In Tom Ivey and Tysons Auto Services, you cannot do any better.
They are very patient with old ladies who know nothing about automobiles!
Top notch mechanics at great prices. Take time to explain what needs to be now and what can be done at a later date.
Pleased with the service but more than I would have liked to spend for their oil change, tire rotation, standard inspection package ($75).
Great service, reasonable prices, and a really friendly staff. Highly recommended.
I ran into a curb on an icy street and somehow damaged my steering rack and pinion. Honda dealers estimate was above and beyond anything you could imagine. Thanks to excellent Google reviews here. Richard gave me very reasonable estimates with Honda OEM and non-OEM parts. I decided to go with OEM steering rack. I brought my car in and stayed there half of the day upstairs working with my laptop through their WIFI connection. So, I am very happy with their repair job so far and I am planning to take my old Toyota there to fix engine leak as well. Tom and his staff are really nice folks and I highly recommend them.
Tom and Richard are straight-shooters with integrity. They strive to find the best solution for their customers and explain options patiently. None of the double-talk and upsale rigamarole you get from a lot of shops. The price for my brake rotors and pads was lower than was quoted at the service station where my car failed inspection. Weve had three encounters with TAS and all have been positive. Definitely will use them going foward
There is zero doubt - Tom is the man. After a recent experience, and being able to see the level of service and commitment that Tom provides, his shop will be - hands down - my first choice.
Trustworthy and honest. Great prices and work. Highly recommended.
