I love the vibes of this cafe. It’s slightly tucked away, with beautiful outdoor seating, a clean interior, and lots of open windows for COVID safety. The only drawback is that the coffee is pretty pricey but all of the food was delicious. (I tried the cascara fizz and buckwheat berry cake). It’s the perfect place to study in the afternoon, especially because it is open later than most cafes. The staff was very friendly too. Would recommend!
Really clean and good coffee and drinks. Line was a little long, but that’s to be expected with a place like this. The drinks tasted good, with us getting a decaf mocha and a lemon fizz (can’t recall the exact name of the latter). There’s decent amount of seating but not enough for everyone. Our recommendation is to both stand in line and then one person snipe a seat of someone leaving.Easy to get to though, and was quite enjoyable.
High quality coffee shop. Hidden on a dead-end alley in Georgetown. One of the few places that will give you sparkling water with your espresso shot…just remember to ask for it. My favorite croissant in town, if you can get there early before they sell out. Open airy indoor seating at communal tables & booths. A few public outdoor bistro tables too (but grab an extra napkin to clean one off). Zero parking, unless you illegally park in the dead-end alley. But don’t count on that during a crowded weekend. I gave 4.5 stars as the staff churns out coffee at a slower West Coast pace, which often leads to long wait times.
The long line and wait time when I was there around noon today (Sunday) was a little much, but the Shakerato was definitely worth the wait! I would do it all over again. The staff worked as quickly as they could to get the orders out.
Near the water front, thus place is good for a quick coffee. I usually have their espresso which is solid in a pinch. I wish they brew it at a slightly lower temperature so its not to bold, but still really solid. The inside decor reminds me of the apple store.
Its Coffee O Clock somewhereBased on Georgetown, DC @bluebottle serves the richest and most flavorful coffee in DC area. Visited this place couple of weeks ago, tried their latte and New Orleans cold coffee, and to no surprise it was perfect. They dont have dine in started yet, only take out. Only thing I didnt like was the tip service, they outright ask for that which in my opinion isnt very comforting. Other than that, just sit at the waterfront and enjoy your coffee *__*
My review is purely for the pour overs.Great atmosphere and service.Blue Bottle is known for roasting great coffee, that fact still stands. However, I wouldn’t get pour overs here if I were you. Just get drip coffee or one of the latte/steamed milk drinks. For $4-$6 plus tip, I didn’t feel like they put the attention to detail and art into the pour over when I went. That being said, Blue Bottle’s pour over funnel is more forgiving and still yields a decent cup of coffee. Most people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between a pour over and drip coffee.
We used to visit this coffee shop by the time we had tasted their coffee. They also have cookies and slices of bread. Their service was commendable. Perfect place for relaxation!
Was very busy on a late morning on a Saturday but service was surprisingly fast. The latte I had was of a very good quality and scone was very delicate.
I just had an incredible iced coffee float (coffee + ice cream). The quality of each sip was A+. The cost was $8.80 so maybe not a regular purchase, but great every so often or for a special occasion!
I sure do like the drip coffee and the espresso. However, the efficient and delicious coffee is for working Americans who are NOT pregnant. Free choice is also a guy thing and NOT just a girl thing.
Enjoyed both sitting in a cafe table outside watching the world go by.
Always a good spot for light bites and great coffee.
First class service. Excellent wine menu.
The matcha and black cardamom latte are amazing here!
Love it. This place has the perfect location directly on the little Ohio canal. Ideal for sitting outside and enjoying the great coffee they serve. I know blue bottle from NY and am completely satisfied with this DC venue! Try the belgian waffle and avocado toast, both so good. Inside seating available as well with lots of options.
Great coffee, decent pastries, awesome location overlooking the Georgetown canal.
This one of several Blue Bottle Coffee shops in Washington, D.C. and perhaps the largest. Located in an alley in Georgetown along the C&O Canal, its in a building almost 100 years old. The space itself is large and normally has tables and chairs. During the pandemic, its takeout only. Theres usually a line, but it goes fast. Expect a few minutes to wait for your drink. The coffee itself is very smooth. I always get the latte and its so creamy that you dont need any sugar in it.There are tables outside with Georgetown views.
Delicious coffee. Strong and acidic, and high quality. Sad that they havent moved back to ceramic cups, the plastic and paper detracts from the quality and taste of the coffee.
Cant speak to the coffee, but the Lemon Yuzu Fizz and the Ham & Swiss sandwich were very good. Location is intriguing, sitting well above the C&O canal alongside a staircase. Highly recommended if youre in the area
Everything weve had has been outstanding
Finally, its in DC, but is it really that good? Yes, it is. To start with, I ordered the famous Bella Donovan pour over. After hot steam faded, its special jammy syrupy flavor showed up. You cant get this from any other cafe shop in DC. Then, I had a double espresso. First sip, dark and earthy. Second sip, smooth and fruity. And of course, as God indended, espresso is served with sparkling water : )
Beautiful place with plenty of indoor air conditioned seating (only two outlet seats however) and nice cold brew. A gem in Georgetown!
A very attentive wait staff with impeccable service.
Coffee is good. Atmosphere is clinical. Service is meh. But at least the prices are on the high side.
The staff is great and very plaisant
Excellent coffee with a Rrally cool concept.. Pastries are amazing, food not so much..
It was nice coffee but the thing off making coffee in front of you was not that special
Perfect for breakfast lunch or late night snack.
Coffee is overpriced. Literally on multiple occasions their Ethiopian single source has made me nauseous after drinking it... ended up throwing out a $20 bag over this. It is nice how you can see the roast date and easy to order online but I’ve never had a coffee make me sick and this has multiple times.
The atmosphere was quiet, calm and relaxing.
Great coffee, as always in Blue Coffee shops.
The food was pretty good and the service was nice.
Good coffee.. great place.. outside seating is really nice.
Its all about the espresso. Dont expect peppermint, caramel, or a lot of other syrup options. Great coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, and dark chocolate mochas. Also some different, but top notch, food items e.g. salted brownie cookie
Best coffeeshop in Georgetown area the service is good the food tastes great.
Cant wait to return.
LOVE me some Blue Bottle. Yes, its a chain, but its has the best coffee in DC hands down :)
One of the better coffee shops in the US has arrived in Georgetown. Its a little SF caffeine injection in DC. A clean lined - modern yet austere locale has plenty of seating just up from the canal. The pours are on the smaller side. I traditionally go for the iced in the summer and a pour over in the winter, but here I enjoyed the cappuccino - very rich, complex, yet smooth. Since the place is brand new, there may be an extended wait for the near future. Definitively worth the stop if youre wandering along M St.Always feel free to reach out to me on Twitter @joerazz
As always great coffee!! There is also a nice selection of pastry. I would greatly recommend the mini brownies which are amazing! The place is nicely tucked so you are in a more quite place, the building itself has a nice vibe to it and a nice place to sip your coffee while socializing or working on your laptop.
Love this place so much.
The employees here are literally in slow motion- They need shots of espresso and a sense of urgency!
Coffee is good, no restroom, few small tables outside, not so sure if they are 6ft apart.
Great to havs breakfast
The best latte and cappuccino I’ve ever tried
A disappointing Blue Bottle location. To preface I travel quite a bit and have visited many Blue Bottle locations and all have been fantastic. This was not the case at the Georgetown Blue Bottle. To be fair the Baristas were friendly and the location, although tricky to drive to it was nice, but the coffee unfortunately was very disappointing. Americano had the tasting notes of a Starbucks Americano... that’s not a compliment. There was no subtle or even strong notes, it was just poor quality, bad tasting coffee. Hopefully they will get better, but they have already been open a year.
I love this coffee shop! The baristas are always nice and attentive. I enjoy sitting outside and sipping coffee. This is one of my favorite spots in DC!
Great food, great bar, great staff.
Very tasty brownies and coffee
I enjoy visiting this cafe, mainly exceptional baristas. From espresso shots,Lattes, tea, and even hot chocolate. Another plus, a hidden location if you need to step away from the crowd.
Go in the morning and enjoy the great vibes.
Great coffee in a charming, cozy corner of Georgetown with outdoor seating. Will be returning often
Take one sip of this incredible coffee and you will be transported to a heaven of dark roasted beans, rich aroma, and creamy foam caressing your mouth. This cafe.... is simply best.
Generally, the quality has stayed as goof as when it first opened. The large crowds recently have made the espressos slightly degraded so I’m hoping they pick it back up.
Outdoor seating in nice environment. Great coffee and cakes.
Wonderful coffee. They offer oat milk and great beans for espresso or pour over options.
The best coffee in DC, please open a location in Bethesda!!!!!!!
Helpful staff very clean, down a alley way at the end but very safe.Coffee was amazing. My wife got a cafe latte and they put a heart on the foam. Great place for coffee.
Awesome service and tasty coffee. Avocado toast is dank
