I’ve had a unit (at one time 2 units) here since 2005. The facility is clean and secure. The staff is nice and helpful. The only complaint that I have is the price going up every year. My rate has doubled since I first got here. I don’t see a reason for the annual increase. I’m lacking storage at home, which is the only reason I’ve remained all of there years.

Ive done business there for many years. I have never had a bad experience. The staff changes frequently, however, they have always been courteous. Sometimes there is a long wait after paying for truck and being able to drive off. There is a shortage of staff during busy times, weekends!
I brought the staff all kinds of problems and they set me straight and on the way quick. Everyone was friendly and facilities are clean and organized.

The company is trying to bill me for a scratch on the bumper, and they claim that the scratch is not on the intial pictures they took. They will not provide the pictures for review. The photo could be of any vehicle and there is no timestamp with the photo. I didnt receive any notice until five months later. Uhaul placed a hold on my profile preventing me from renting woth them until the balance is recovered. Plus, the insurance agent told me she will send it to collections if it not paid. So now, my credit may be impacted. Initially i thought it was a scam until i google Uhaul customer service number and told me about the hold. TUhaul wont tell me anything. They keep referring me to the insurance company handling the claim. It seems like a scam way of billingcustomers extra. Very disappointing 😞
The trucks were packed together like sardines in the pick-up lot, making it hard to find the one I was assigned. And there was no one around to assist with any aspect of the self-service check-in (such as Where do I get the furniture blankets and utility dolly that I rented?). Also, I had to walk a block up the street to the retail front office to get the keys to my truck. The only reason to rent from this place is location. For superior service, go elsewhere.

But have to echo the other reviews - very shady with overbilling.I used a truck to move belongings from public storage to my new apartment. We went less than 5 miles. I get my receipt later and see Ive been charged for 155 miles. Absolutely absurd. Of course, I didnt take photos of my mileage when I got the truck, so theres nothing that can be done.Always take photos of your mileage when renting from here, or any U-Haul for that matter. Given the reviews, it seems like its an issue here.

The lady was helpful and kind despite it being close to closing. I believe its easier to rent a truck than a unit here, which is crazy. They require two addresses and three phone numbers for different people. They have a credit card on file, it is ridiculous to require so much for a storage unit.They advertise a free lock. Thats a complete lie. It ads $10 to your bill and they dont ask you first.Lastly, they also advertise immediate access. This is also not true. It took close to twenty minutes to tell the lady most of the stuff Id already entered online. It cant be immediate access anyway as she issued me a keycard not a code.

A bit understaffed and disorganized (granted this review is during COVID) but very kind and patient staff all things considered. They did lose track of one of our empty Uboxes and had to find another to replace it but communicated the issue and resolved it easily. We arrived at opening and were out an hour later. Drop off took less than 15 mins. Durrell & Desmond were both very helpful and made the moving process easier for us.

Im not messing around -- I had a great experience with this U-Haul location. The staff were friendly, helpful, and efficient. The truck seemed brand new, and the storage part of the truck was sparkling clean. When I returned the truck with a millimeter under where it needed to be, the employee marked no charge without thinking twice. For a U-haul location in a city -- and a semi-bustling area like Nationals Stadium, I was very impressed. I was checked out for a total of $55, which is very reasonable. Ill definitely use this location again.
They didnt have my reservation available when I showed up, and even said they didnt have the kind of unit I requested. When I asked how that happened, they said their system didnt even know what kind of units were available at each location, and that they couldnt even find me a unit at a different U Haul property.
Lousy,after looking at me from 10 feet way the attendant was shouting at me to stay in the truck. All i wanted to do was drop the keys and get my bag from the back of the truck and leave as i had already returned the truck via their website.I clearly knew that she was not going to be of assistance
Easy to reserve and rent a U-Haul here. They have storage areas available for short-term or long-term storage. I rented a truck for a day to pick up furniture and it saved so much time and energy by having the truck as opposed to other delivery options. Tip: Make sure to fill up the gas tank before returning to save money as the price they charge for gas at the U-Haul center is higher than market rate

Rented uhaul for few hours. Very good customer service. We were in and out very smoothly. great location also
If I could give them no stars, I would! We rented a Uhaul to pick up some stuff from the Public Storage (0.3 miles) down the street. We went to JMD Furniture (5.8 miles) in Hillcrest Heights, MD. We dropped everything off at Southview Apartments (3.1 miles) in Oxon Hill. We got gas from the Shell (1 mile) that was right down the street. Finally we dropped the Uhaul back off to the same spot (4.6 miles). This totals to LESS than 20 miles yet their truck said we went 52 miles!! We kept explaining that there was NO WAY we went that many miles & their odometer is obviously defective but they refused to investigate. We ended up being charged DOUBLE the money than we should have. I will never go back there & I DO NOT RECOMMEND UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE OVERCHARGED!!

If I could have gave this rate without giving a star it would not have one. They over charged me then didnt refund all my money. A week and a half after returning the truck they took money out of my account and told me i had a left over balance. I have been asking for a invoice for business requirements and STILL have not gotten one. I have been hung up in and totally disrespected by Chris Parker at this location. He is very rude and it makes me not want to deal with people of my skin color when conducting business.....sad but true. When they make mistakes that they are called out on they get VERY disrespectful. I am working on getting a news team out there because people need to know and that location need new management ASAP

A well situated storage unit location that has both temperature controlled and regular units of various sizes to fit the needs of the customers. The customer service people are on par and attentive.Tip dont lock your uhaul key in the cabin. Roadside assistance doesnt cover the locksmith and its a $65 (starting price) cash only!

This is the second time I have used this particular Uhaul location in one year. Everyone from the staff inside to the outdoor staff went above and beyond to ensure my needs were met. I appreciate their professionalism and their appreciation to keep customers happy.
I tried to run my business out of here for a little over a year now. Too much inconvenience and no accommodations. Bathrooms always out of order, the elevator is always getting stuck in which I found myself having to stop what i was doing to assist other customers with it, there’s a big cement beam in the middle of the unit taking up space, rodents chew through your things, i’ve witnessed customers disrespected and told to shut up, there’s been a number of break ins, I have paid my bill and it took 3 days to take the lock off, 24 hr services have been stripped and I believe are stereotyped to whom they want to grant it to, and the BIGGEST of them all is I have been blocked in twice by uhaul trucks forcing me to sleep in my vehicle until the store opened. Neither the manager or asst manager answered the phone to assess and fix the problem. Not to mention paying $265 monthly. So i did some searching and found a 10x20 for only $205. Thanks but no thanks uhaul, this will be my last payment to you.

I dont even feel like typing a story of how bad the customer service here is. All i want to say is i am glad that i do not have to deal with the young lady whom i encountered today on a daily basis or someone would get hurt. And i dont give a damn if they read this and get in their feelings. This young lady and i am not sure if this is the same lady name Erika Smith that Ana Garcia mentioned in her review, but she has a smart ass mouth and i truly hope she have an attitude with the wrong person one day and physically get dropped.
Two times I rented Uhaul from there and had the same experiences. They made do Mobile check-in while they have no one outside by the trucks.Don’t do mobile check here. It will make you come back to the counter!
I have been here twice and the first time the customer service was amazing but when I went yesterday, there were two employees there who literally did nothing. One was on the phone the entire time and the other was lying down on a bunch of boxes playing on his phone and didn’t even acknowledge my presence. I had questions about different box sizes and I had to go to the guy who was lying on the boxes and get his attention in order for him to help me. I think he might’ve even been napping at that point. Bad customer service in my opinion.

We had to submit a truck here from College Park, MD, which was a really short trip with just 22 boxes, 2 mattresses, a dresser, a table, and a few empty bookcases and we made sure to return the truck with more gas than it was given to us with and we swept the truck out TWICE before returning it just in case. Well, this location decided to just charge us for the cleaning fee of $26.44 without any notice to us. The truck was rented to us in College Park with moving blankets in it which we did not request nor want, but they said to just leave them in there regardless so we did. I have always used Uhaul for my moves and this MUST BE a ridiculous nickel-and-dime location that attaches fees at their leisure. Do not recommend utilizing this drop off spot, no other location has done this and Ive done 8 cross-country moves and have moved with uhaul more than 24 times!

The perfect spot if you want all of your boxes and items destroyed by mice and covered in mice feces. Otherwise, maybe look elsewhere
I went into the uhaul facility on south Capitol and p drs sw just to pick up a bundle of moving boxes. We were greeted as we walked in the door. When I had a question the newest employee Sabrina came from behind the counter and walked over and explained the difference in prices for the supply pack and the individual boxes. Once we made or selection she rang us up and was most courteous . She said she had only been there for 3 weeks and did not hesitate to ask for assistance from her colleagues when she was unsure. Then the manager Chris came got the boxes and carried them to the car for us. As a long time retail sales person I appreciate excellent customer service and this facilitys staff are spot on. Whenever I am in need of anything for moving I will be using this uhaul store.

I was greeted by the rudest most unprofessional customer service rep named Erika Smith. As soon as my father and I walked in she greeted us with the most awful attitude, wouldn’t look at us in the eye and reprimanded us for our parking spot, which we accidentally parked in and we just needed a couple of minutes to figure out where to park. She also asked me if I wanted additional add ons at a discounted price and when I asked what kind she just turned her computer monitor and told me to read it, instead of explaining it to me like any other decent human being would. I’ve worked in customer service for over 8 years and have never met anyone as awful as Erika Smith. Would NOT recommend this uhaul location to anyone. There’s plenty more locations in the DMV area. Do yourself a favor and avoid this one at all costs.
Worse service ever, lack of communication, and the workers there committed a mistake up charging me and they were very disrespectful to me trying to fix it, now I have to fill out a reclaim because they didnt want to recognize their mistakes.

Ive been a customer of their storage for a half dozen years. They have both temp controlled and non temp controlled units; the HVAC always worked in the controlled units. We found the staff, especially Mr. Page, the manager, helpful and courteous if a shade overworked with their busy truck rental business. The only negative is that the elevators (2) seem to be broken too often.

THIS LOCATION HAS A RAT INFESTATION PROBLEM.If you value your items, DO NOT STORE THEM AT THIS LOCATION. It is like throwing your money away.Similar to another reviewer, I moved furniture, pillows, other household, well packaged items into this location about 5 years ago, and after a few weeks, my furniture had been destroyed by rats.The location management never apologized, I talked to a district manager, and NO ONE at the management level was ever helpful or apologetic.I moved my remaining non-perishable (personal and work papers and books) to a another second floor unit, but they never gave me a discount on rent, or any financial restitution for everything that was destroyed. Additionally, they did not offer help in moving my remaining items.I never had a problem with the front desk staff, but the management was beyond unhelpful, and I would never use this location again to store anything.
Even one star is a lot for the people work at this location! Its better they quit instead of disturbing customers and themselves.
Beware of mice. We got a small storage unit to store our stuff while we went away for a year. When we came back we found a mouse party -- there were droppings on all of our stuff, mice had chewed through many items, and there were even empty peanut shells everywhere! We lost a lot of stuff, and had a TON of cleaning up to do. Theres no preventing mice from getting in these units, because they are completely open on the top and have openings in the sides, and the mousetraps did not seem to make any difference.

This is by far the worst experience I have ever had with U-Haul, or any company for that matter. All of the employees were slow, angry, and swore multiple times while talking with me on the phone and in person. They yelled at each other in front of customers and seemed angry when customers came to their store to ask questions. They dont answer their phones and do not respond to messages left by the corporate call line, claiming they were too busy to answer a message after 7 hours. We had to go to the store in person to ask them a question, and even then, they were unhelpful and unwilling to do their job. I have never been more unhappy with a customer experience, and I will never give them my business again.

Well for starters please get someMore staff, specially on weekends. My fiancée came to get a unit and it was not the best customer service... had to wait almost 20minutes to get a person to assist us, then had to wait again to get a tour the girl that was supposed to be back there got paged at least 10xs and finally one of the staff working the busy front desk took us back for our tour.. place is crowded not easy to get to, staff parked in the loading dock, back parking lot is very tight.
WORST customer service. I have been stood up twice for delivery and I have STILL not received my U-box.After missing the original delivery date of July 5. (I called on July 4 and Uhaul told me that the U-box was at Capitol St and would be delivered to me in Alexandria by noon on the 5th) Noon on the 5th rolls around, no U-box. Call S Capitol, reach someone at HQ, they say S Capitol will call me back. No call back. I call back on the 6th. Theyll call you back no call back. I call back a few hours later, HQ is pissed but they cant reach them either. They schedule delivery for noon and hang up. No call from S Capitol. I call back, no one at S Capitol is available but HQ is annoyed. Guess what, no delivery at noon and nobody will answer the phone.This has been a nightmare. Dont schedule moving help through U-haul either - they dont talk to each other. So with all the disaster coordinating with u-haul I also have to coordinate with the moving help and cancel on them repeatedly since uhaul just doesnt show up when they say they will. It is absolutely not worth the exorbitant amount of money for one u-box. They treat their customers like dirt.

STAY AWAY!I was moving from Arlington, VA to Fort Lauderdale, FL and went online to reserve two U-Pods, arrange for their shipping, and get movers through their MovingHelp system. I prefer to do everything online from banking, shopping, to job applications, so Im very familiar with various online systems.It seemed that the reservation was all set, but when the movers came and were ready to take my stuff, the head mover told me that the reservation was for storage. I called this UHaul location to fix it and spoke with someone who was very helpful, she said she adjusted it for shipping, but scheduled me for a later pickup in Florida without asking me first. She should have asked me. My mother was coming down with me to help setup some furniture and her flight was already scheduled, but the agent at UHaul put my furniture pickup date for the date of my mothers departure from Florida. It was a hassle trying to reschedule the pickup date for my furniture. I had to cancel movers whom I could not contact. I ended up just going to the UHaul location in FL and they told me that my stuff was already there, yet I was never contacted by email or phone.They said I would be charged for the move within five days, but yet the FL location said they needed payment then. I wanted assurance that I wouldnt be charged twice, but he couldnt give me any. Thankfully I wrote a check, but now the checks whereabouts are unknown, but I cannot get into further detail here.About a week later I received a call from this UHaul location saying my boxes were ready to be picked up so I could pack them. What!? I explained that I had already moved and unpacked… Yesterday I saw two charges on one of my accounts from them for the same amount that I did not authorize. Those charges put me in overdraft on my account, and I had to contact my bank about fraud, and that investigation is on-going.When I first interacted with this location, I was told that they were working with a new computer system. I have worked with several internationally reputable companies as theyve made transitions to new systems, management, etc, and none were this bad. Unfortunately, it appears that this location has a people issue as well.If you must work with them, use cash.

They need more staff working here to check people out in the morning and then return the trucks at night. I probably spent more than an hour just waiting in lines trying to pick up and drop off keys.
Average for a storage facility. Neighborhood scavengers walk in and out of the loading area and have stolen several of the carts so there are only 3 left. If its busy, youll be waiting a while.

Very unhappy with this uhaul service. Our U-Haul box was not delivered on time or at the location we had scheduled it to be, then we were charged for having to go pick it up from a town 1 hour away just so we could move in on our scheduled date. It has been a week and the manager has not gotten back to me, despite telling me he would make sure to handle the situation and the staff never followed up with me. The situation still has not been remedied.

Dirty. First time I rented here I was given a trailer missing a pin to keep a part from dragging on the road. Once I noticed it was very scary driving.
