My first time seeing Dr. Do and she was so nice. She took the time to ask me questions about my health and she really listened. The entire staff was super nice. When picking out my glasses they went over how much my insurance would cover. They weren’t trying to force me into getting anything extra that wasn’t needed. These people are the best!!!!

I have to deeply agree with my sister, followed by an excellent 5 star rating! Marias tone of voice was by far the sweetest refreshing understanding by the way she talked with me! Savannah was very yielding and cooperative and so was Dr. Do. I have witnessed the warmth and of ALL OF YOU AND YOU LADIES have added so much meaning to this facility!! As for Trisha, Maria, Savannah, and Dr. Do....YOU ALL ARE MORE THAN 3 TIMES A BEAUTIFUL STAFF!! By the way, thank you lovely ladies for the warm communication and taking care of my eyes!!

For the many years of coming to this facility, everything and everyone has always been wonderful, but today it was something special...the young lady Maria is such a super sweet and caring person--you can tell in her tone of voice! Its like the refreshing season of springtime! And I really was very happy to see Dr. Do again too-she was very kind and professional! My overall experience has been truly excellent-I felt so much at home. And downstairs in the glasses section, Trisha was beautiful too! Thank every last one of yall for making Ragsdale Vision Center my place for the care of my eyes!!

I totally love this place. I went here to go get my eyes checked sinces i couldnt see far. The lady at the front desk was really nice and checked us in. Got my check up and saw that i needed glasses. And the lady who was showing me to the room said i had really nice hair 😊. Overall a really nice place if youre planning to get your eyes checked come here!

Im not sure how good the doctor may be since I was sent away before I could even have my appointment. I suppose the office staff is more interested in keeping lunch times than caring for their patients. I was asked to move my appointment up the same day and declined since I had commitments at work, then show up 10 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment and sent away. In all the times this office called to confirm and set appointments, they declined to tell me how early I needed to arrive. They also told me the wrong time twice and had to call me back to correct it. Now its on me to call back to reschedule. What a terrible experience. I hope you all enjoy your lunch.

I called and made my appointment quickly and easily. Service was great, but I had to wait about 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment time. Dr. Do is super nice and wonderful! I had my appointment at 11:20 on Satutday but they closed before I could actually look at glasses and order some. Will update later when I go back to get glasses.

Dr.Do is amazing! She did a detailed exam on my eyes! She took her time explaining what was going on with him. I believe the lady who protested me is Mary. She was very sweet and descriptive. Thank you two ladies for taking care of me!

I’m giving Ragsdale a 4 star rating because Dr. Do is fantastic. I’ve have been wearing corrective lenses for 46 years and can’t remember a better experience for an optical exam. However.....Trish and some staff in the eyewear selection in front are all about the gouge. She will go to great lengths to pressure sell you for a nice fat excessive out of pocket and unnecessary add-ons. I was able to save $200 with high quality frames and lenses elsewhere.Go for the exam but not for product.

I have been a patient of Dr. Shane Ragsdale and his father over the past four years. Both doctors were very professional and their staff have been courteous and helpful. At every scheduled appointment I was treated promptly and to my satisfaction. Thank you, Drs. Ragsdale and staff! You have set a high bar for service. As I prepare to move back to south Texas in a couple of weeks, I can only hope to find a provider that meets the level of service which I have received from you.

Friendly enough, I suppose. Great to go to if you have insurance, no doubt. Dont seem like the kind of folks to concern themselves too much about anything else. Like most local shops they seem to cater to upper middle class Dentonites, marketing more nostalgia than quality service. Great location.

Love this place! Lovely staff and friendly service.Dr. Do is very nice and explains all my questions!My daughters feel real comfortable with Dr. Do,She diagnosed my daughter with a issue she had in her eyes last year. I also took my daughter with a specialist and the Dr. didnt see nothing wrong. She did the exact same test Dr. Do did. Its been a year since this and my daughters eyes have improved and cant notice the issue no more.  I am beyond grateful for Dr. Do that she caught the problem right away! I couldn’t thank her enough! Also one of my daughters told me the exam was awesome because no puff of air goes into their eyes, like other places and the machine they used she could see the back of her eye. So they have really good equipment. Ill continue to come here.

Dr. Ragsdale and his office are GREAT! I have never had a better experience. The staff was courteous and helpful. Dr. Ragsdale was friendly and very knowledgeable. He answered every single one of my questions and spent about 30 min. with me which is pretty much unheard of for a doctor’s office these days. When I realized the sample contacts that I was trying weren’t quite right they got me back in the SAME DAY to fix the problem. They were completely upfront and transparent about what they would be charging me BEFORE the appointment and the invoice was clear and thorough. I was just blown away by Dr. Ragsdale and his staff. Bravo!

I love that I get more than a new prescription for eyeglasses. I get a complete report on the health of my eyes. Staff is quick, competent and professional. Everyone in the office takes time to answer my questions.

I had my first appointment with Dr. Ragsdale today. I read reviews for numerous eye doctors in Denton on more review sites than this one. I decided to try Ragsdale Vision center because the only cons mentioned were price related, which I expect from any eye care center. My appointment was at 8:40am, I waited 15 minutes to be seen. (That includes the 10 minutes it took me to fill out my new patient paperwork.) The building and the staff were not intimidating. The woman at the front desk was very helpful and pleasant. I was in and out within an hours time. (Granted I did not look at glasses, and I am not new to contact lenses.) Dr. Ragsdale was kind, knowledgeable, and approachable. I was pleased enough with my experience that I cared to leave a review. I know many people do not have insurance, but I happen to and I was surprised with how inexpensive my exam and order of contact lenses came to be! So pleased with my experience with Ragsdale Vision Center.

I was seen by Dr. Do for a routine eye exam. I was impressed with their equipment - I hadnt seen some of the machines before. No puff of air! Everything went smoothly and efficiently, and Dr. Do asked me if I had any questions or concerns multiple times, and went over some images of my eye with me. I never felt rushed or pressured to buy frames! I got a copy of my prescription with no fuss too. Definitely recommend this office for straightforward friendly service.

I have never had a bad experience. Everyone is always so kind and informative. They do an amazing job making the exams go quickly, wait time is very short. You can always call and ask questions. I recently went to Ragsdales for the first time as it was time for my annual eye exam.I wasnt to sure about the online appointment setup but I was called back in good time and they were really nice and very helpful. On the day of my appointment I was treated professionally and courteously. Everyone was so nice. Doctor Ragsdale was the best, he explained everything very well and made sure to answer any questions. After going to Chain eye centers For years I can say Im coming here for annual exams and any eye care needs I have in the future. Great job. So glad customer service isnt dead.

My son had to go in for a vision check and get glasses. The wait was a little long but there isn’t a doctors office in the world that isn’t. Anyway, my son did all the testing and when Dr. Van Do came in she was excellent with my son and with me. Her bedside manner was great! My wife has been going here for a while and had mixed reviews about the doctors. She only had the original Ragsdale and his son. Retired Ragsdale she did not like so much. The younger Ragsdale she liked.I recommend Dr. Do especially for kids.

ABOVE MY EXPECTATIONS, GREAT! My 4 year old sons first vision appointment and they made him feel very comfortable! Optometrist was very helpful and explained things so that I would truly understand. From going in (brought paperwork with me from their website) and doing the whole exam PLUS glasses fitting, I was in and out within an hour!!! My optometrist would make me wait that long just to see me. I am so glad I made the right choice and chose RAGSDALE! I will be using them for my own vision needs now too!

We LOVE Shane Ragsdale. He is both approachable and knowledgeable. He engages in conversation with you (as a parent of the patient) throughout the visit and the kids are comfortable with him. He has a friendly staff and our wait time is always inside 15 minutes. Plus you can order glasses in the same office which is convenient. We have medicaid and have never had any issues with that either. I highly recommend Shane Ragsdale.

We have been going to Ragsdale for decades. The youngest Ragsdale definitely fills the shoes of his father and grandfather. He listens to my concerns and helps me find the best solutions for the whole family. The office staff is kind and courteous, too, with minimal wait times. Highly recommend them!

I visited the Ragsdale Vision Center for the first time and I had zero issues. Ashly at the front desk was extremely patient and answered every and any question I had. She was extremely friendly along with everyone else in that building. I ordered glasses and contact lenses. Absolutely recommend this place!

The staff is always friendly and get you back on time! The doctor answers all of your questions and is very thorough in his eye exam. The best part is though they offer eyewear there is no hard sale like every other place to buy there, which actually made me use their store, though the prices had a lot to do with this too. Cant recommend them enough.

Recently I decided to go back to Ragsdale, and was reminded why I come here, and also kicked myself for floating around with different optometrist because if price. I went in the other day because I had scratched my eye a couple of days previous to seeing Dr. Do. I was very impressed with Dr. Do. Not only did she treat my eye with the most careful and gentle bedside manner, she was also extremely sweet and knowledgeable. I learned a lot from Dr. Do at my visit. Im actually looking forward to my follow up appointment with Dr. Do. Im hoping I have the same positive experience. To the owners of Ragsdale, Dr. Do is a keeper.

Thank you.I find it so frustrating when a business is willing to lose repeat customers over a stupid policy. My wife has been coming there for almost 15 years and brought my son over as a patient when he needed glasses. We have literally spent thousands of dollars there. I made a simple call to ask for my son’s pupillary distance measurement which they had already taken and had on hand but was told they were going to charge me $20 for that information. I clearly explained to the lady on the phone that they were going to lose my family‘s business due to this policy. Her response was simply “I’m sorry to hear this”. What a ridiculous policy designed to nickel and dime people that is now costing them thousands of dollars from good clients.REPLY TO RESPONSE:Since I am unable to reply to you response, I will add it here. I understand your take but that is not how it was explained. The lady on the phone told me that they had that measurement for him but would charge $20 for giving it to us. Doesn’t quite sound like what you described, does it?

I am so impressed with Dr. Ragsdale. I was having severe eye pain in both eyes and went to an emergency room-urgent care. The doctor there was concerned I had glaucoma and called Dr. Ragsdale who agreed to wait on me after-business hours to check me out due to the concern. I get there and his staff is leaving because the office is closed, but Dr. Ragsdale took his time testing me and didnt rush me because he was staying late. His equipment seemed to be very up-to-date and he showed me why I didnt have glaucoma. He gave me some steroid samples to help get rid of the pain. He then called me 3 days later just to ask how I felt. I havent been treated by a medical professional who really was interested in helping and not just rushing me out to get to the next patient. I can not say how appreciative I am of him. I am now a loyal customer.

My husband and I have seen Dr. Shane for a few years now and think he is great! The ladies in the optical office and the front office staff are very nice. I have never had a problem and FYI if you will tell the opticians that you are on a budget and give them a price, they WILL work with you and find you a frame to meet your needs. You just have to communicate your needs to them. I read some of the reviews on here about communication of the staff, but the customers have to communicate, too. It is a relationship and communication is a two way street. Keep up the good work guys!

Easy to get an appointment, no waiting, get your exam done, nice office staff, wonderful Doctor then you are on your way. Plus I love how their office is in some kind of old house or such. Very interesting! Just reminds me of doctors when I was a kid, pure, simple and excellent.I did go to a different doc in Denton he was like being in a room with mud. No personality at all. I know he was doing a good job, he must be a super introvert, but i need some conversation. So I switched to Ragsdale and I am super happy with them.

I have responded to the owners comments in parenthesis)Original review: I have a foster kiddo who has state insurance and Ragsdale was recommended.I paid out of pocket for an upgraded frame and lens, happily because she needs to like the glasses or she wont wear them.Not much help picking out a frame or explaining lens options. But I have been wearing glasses for 25 years so I know the drill.The pickup of the glasses was a terrible experience! The middle aged women behind the desk (Trisha) was very curt and uninformed. I asked about the warranty on the glasses. ( She had no idea how I paid for the glasses or if insurance had covered them because she had not looked up my kiddos account yet) She stated, there is no warranty I added that I had paid out of pocket for the frame and next time i will check with another vendor for a better warranty. At this point she remembered that the frames would be covered for a year.The glasses came out and I pointed out how dirty they were.( no finger prints, just around the edges where dirt or dust might collect from inserting them into the frame) The young gal apologized and left to clean them. I had to return with them later the same day because the temple was so loose. ( meaning the part of the ear piece where it attaches to the frame. I brought them back later the same day to have the ear piece tightened. The temple is still loose)While I waited, a gentleman brought in a pair of reading glasses that had been broken by his toddler. The ear piece/temple had been snapped off. The only response the employee had was, I cant do anything without the missing piece and what do you want me to do about it! Which she said repeatedly.I stepped up to give the gentleman the name of a different vendor (Fort Worth eye ware) that would be happy to solder a different piece on them. (I stayed put at the reception counter next to the man. I never raised my voice or walked any where in the office. The man said thank you and I sat down)The employee stated that they were out of warranty and wouldnt even ask in the back if they had spare parts.I will be sure to tell anyone I see to avoid this establishment

Been going there for last 40 years and it doesnt matter. Bought two pair glasses that are not same script by mistake and i will have pay for that to be fixed and miss a day of work. Not happy at all.

My husband and I have been going to Ragsdale Vision for a few years now and have always had really good service and experiences there. 2 weekends ago we had an extremely exceptional experience! My husband woke up on the weekend with what appeared to be a zombies eye. Having had this happen last year to my own eye, I knew he had a busted blood vessel in his eye, but his looked much worse. We called the office and it was after their business hours, however we were able to get into contact with Dr. Shane Ragsdale. He listened to my husbands description then asked for us to text him a picture. He confirmed that it was a subcutaneous hemorrhage. After reassuring us, he gave us some options to try over the weekend. My husband immediately started seeing relief and is almost back to normal. Shane assured us that if it wasnt significantly better by the following Monday, he would get my husband in and take a look. We ended up not having to go in, but had no doubt he would be taken care of if he had to. But, the service didnt stop there! Shane has checked in with us over the past week and half to see how my husband is doing. He has gone above and beyond! Thank you, Shane! And, thank you to Ragsdale Vision for always providing great service to us!

I really enjoyed the doctor and the staff. However, when I looked at the glasses, someone greeted me and then left to go to the room in the back. I didnt see anyone again until I was halfway through. At that point I was almost done and frustrated. I got down to one pair of glasses that I really liked and I was deliberating on the purchase. Once I decided to go the cheaper route and stay with my current pair, the woman who was helping became a little hostile and completely uninterested in me. It was almost like I offended her for not buying glasses. Maybe they work on commission for selling glasses? Im not sure. That experience did not damper the entire appointment. I will be back but I will probably go elsewhere to buy glasses.

I had an issue with something in my eye all day. I work in an environment that I am not able to just drop and run to the doctor. I contacted Dr. Ragsdales office and he was so kind to let me come as soon as I got off. This delayed him leaving for the evening by about 15 minutes at least. I am not a patient, this was my first visit but will not be my last!! I appreciate his kindness and willingness to meet my scheduling need at the time of an issue.

2019, Update: This year, when I came in for my annual visit and whatnot, my experience was much improved compared to 2017 (the last time I needed new glasses lenses and when I left my last review). The staff in the optical center was up front about any extraneous costs or recommendations for new lenses. The only complaint I have regarding the experience was simply that Dr. Ragsdale did not notify me of a change in my right eye, however, it was reflected on the report I was given, so the knowledge was there and he did make himself available to clarify on the matter.

The doctors here are kind and thorough and the staff is very helpful. Highly recommend!

Ragsdale Vision Center is AWESOME. I started going there about 10 yrs ago. Never a problem. Doctors and staff are ALWAYS polite, courteous and professional. My daughter and mother are also satisfied with Dr. Ragsdale and staff.

I wasnt really happy with the service the front desk provided. She wasnt very friendly kind of had a bit of an attitude however the Dr and the visit went by extremely quickly!

The Doctor was nice, informative and very little wait time. She was very patient and understanding with my fussy baby during exam. Buying glasses there was my idea (they even asked if Id like to buy there or not today). They were helpful and answered questions. The sell was never pushed on me. I ended up liking less expensive frames and she said she had some and really liked them. No upselling Which I like. I would recommend them!

Ive been to optometrists almost my entire life and now reaching 30, this has got to be the best optometrists office ever! The staff was super friendly and professional and Dr. Ragsdale was very knowledgeable and helped me realize things about my eyes that I never considered or heard before. Will definitely keep coming back for checkups for a very long time!!!

Ragsdale Vision is the only place where I can get progressive lenses that dont have tunnel vision. I tried multiple vision centers before Ragsdale was recommended to me and now I have lenses that let me see all the way to the left and right without turningmy head. The Dr. and staff are very pleasant to work with.

Had a 3:00 pm appt. Was running bout 5 min late, when I called to let them know, the young lady who answered my call was very polite and helpful. When I arrived i Had to update my info,... once completed, within 10 min, I was called back to see the doc. Once I was in a room, 20 min tops, an eye exam completed an Imon my way out.. I give this office an staff a 10!!

I have used Dr. Ragsdale for many years and my husband joined me the last couple of times that we went. We LOVE the Ragsdale team, from top to bottom. Dr. Ragsdale keeps me up to date on my diabetes progress. They also send me email reminders when its time for a visit. GREAT JOB guys and gals!!! I have used Ragsdale Vision Center for my son for several years and they have done a great job with him. They are so accommodating with scheduling and very kind and instructive to him so he will take better care of his eyes. We are very happy with all the great people there.

I am so disappointed with place. My niece who is 4 years went here yesterday. The office staff in the reception area were talking bad about her and discussing how difficult of patient she was and so on. She is 4 years old I repeat. Children will be some of the most difficult patients to work with. This is coming from someone who works in the healthcare industry. Who bad mouths a 4 year old while their mom sits in the waiting room and heard the entire conversation. As she was in the back with her father. Very unprofessional. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone with kids. They had to dilate her eyes twice. The office manager will receive a call today and my sister in law will also be filing a complaint with the better business bureau about the service.

My children have been going to Ragsdale for 12 years and have recieved excellent service. They have done a really good job. They are the best in town. And they accept a variety of insurances.

Dr. Shane Ragsdale is great. Ive had an irritable eye for 20 years. I have mentioned it to many doctors, and all said there wasnt a problem. He took one look at it and saw some issues. He removed three bumps from my eye, and it isnt a problem anymore! That was about 6 months or more ago, so I know it is a long term solution. I lived with that for 20 years for no reason. He takes care of the basic eye care like glasses and contacts for my husband and kids too.

I purchased 2 pair of glasses from an online company (Warby Parker), and they needed to be fitted with low heat adjustments. So, I called Ragsdale, asking how much they would charge to fit my glasses... they replied that they do NOT charge for fitting frames. I made sure that they knew I didnt purchase the frames from them, and am perfectly willing to pay for their time and efforts. Very cheerfully and politely, they made sure that I knew they would do that for me for free.Extremely polite and courteous - and beyond reasonable generosity! Excellent!

I got confused during the is this better or this portion of the eye exam. Ive seen Dr. Ragsdale for years and he is courteous, efficient (without making you feel like cattle), and very thorough. I highly recommend his practice.

I have had difficulty with eye exams elsewhere in Denton in the past but have no difficulties over the past 4 years at Ragsdale Vision. The service provided has been excellent and they have explained results thoroughly. When I have had damaged glasses, they have worked to provide repair or replacements quickly and at the lowest cost.

I have been going off and on to Dr. Ragsdale Senior and now his son, Shane. Never have had a problem and the staff is very nice. Very professional all the way around. Recently, I went in to see the Dr. to have my eyes looked at for my diabetes. Shane Ragsdale was so kind and took the time to explain what was going on and was patient and informative. Now that I am living in Denton again I will be going here from now on.

The doctor was fabulous and his immediate staff very courteous. My problem stemmed from the downstairs who ordered your glasses. They could not answer my questions, disregarded my concerns, and when I finally got my glasses and told them they needed to be adjusted basically told me I didnt know what I was talking about. I will not order glasses through them again

Dr. Mark Ragsdale has been my optometrist for 30+ years. Originally in contact lens then I returned to glasses. Glaucoma was diagnosed 8 years ago, and Dr. Ragsdale a therapeutic optometrist has been treating me. When my cataracts were ripe, Dr Ragsdale referred me to Dr. Haq for successful cataract surgery. I returned to Dr. Ragsdale for my regular glaucoma check up and continue using my drops. The staff has always been considerate and appointments are on time 95% of the time (extenuating circumstances do happen).

I have been using Dr. Shane Ragsdale for 2 years and my husband also started with him this year. We were very pleased with the quality of service and the doctors ability to listen to our questions and clearly articulate a range of solutions. No one at the office has tried to upsell us or push us towards additional services. The ladies at the vision clinic are helpful and they have a nice selection of glasses.

I love Dr. Ragsdale. The staff are always very courteous and friendly. I am always in and out, without waiting in the waiting room for an inordinate amount of time.

Please take me off your email list. I have unsubscribed several times and I am still getting emails. I will not ever go back to your establishment again. I know all too well to support small businesses and I love to do it! My family owns 5 small businesses...but we would never treat customers the way your employees treat your customers. I suggest firing every single one and hire new employees.

I love this place I was going here since I was a kid and now my kids are coming here.i love the girls in the glasses department,they always friendly with everyone.

Simply put, poor customer service. They didnt listen or care about patients. There is no reason to deal with this when there are so many eye doctor options around. I prefer to be valued as a customer, not just another patient they have to deal with.

Everyone here is super friendly and they have a great selection of frames. The nice boy at the counter helped me pick out my frames too!

The service here is leaps and bounds above the others in Denton. Very friendly staff, no up selling services that arent needed, and there isnt a high pressure sales pitch to buy your glasses here. Although they do have a very large selection of frames. I highly recommend this office.
