Don’t go here, they’ll take your money. Took my car here 3 times all for different problems that they couldn’t see the first time. Then i took my car to 3 different mechanics who came up with the same diagnosis while they couldn’t find the problem and were “working around it” - yea i have the blue 2011 chevy malibu!

Absolutely poor customer service with no intent on taking a service that needs to be fixed to my car. Asked to just bolt on a shield that is hanging under my car and can’t even take my service. Don’t get me wrong I will pay any price for my service. The worker said, “We don’t do that here.” Then what service do you do that’s not even that complex? I do not recommend coming here especially if they can’t service you. Honestly they don’t even deserve a 1 star.

They didn’t want to take in my car to just bolt up a heat shield. Front desk person telling me that they don’t take in that kind of work. If you’re going to have a mechanic shop and not take in the simplest job than you should not be in business. I recommend going to bartels or support other local mechanic shops. Thanks

Very sweet people. Efficient work. And the prices arent crazy.My go to place for oil changes. And they do an inspection to see if anything else is needed on your vehicle, but dont harass you into getting the work right away. I appreciate them so much.

They have my car for more than a month and they still havent fixed it. and there are no people to give me an answer. I would like to know if there is another way to contact the owner or someone who gives me answers for more than a month and my car is not working.

I always try to give a second chance to any place I go. I gave this place 4 tries and with all 4 times a disappointment.If you know anything about fixing cars and how much work is required for doing a certain job then you will know that this place is a rip off.There are very few things a customer wants, proper manners is kind of compulsory for running a business but Mr. Bob dont think so. Always talking you down.The next thing a customer wants is the best price. And as soon as you ask them if thats the best price they can do ? Guess what ? The attitude doubles up from Mr.Bob.Ron is the manager/owner but he treats customers properly and I would have given this place a 3 star rating but because of him not being available at the store mostly and having to talk to bob. I will give this place a 0 as long as bob is working here.Also they will NOT accept parts from outside....as small as a fuse if you have one and then charge you $30 for a fuse.I always make my wife carry a box of fuses and when she blew one, they refused to use her brand new in the box fuses and charged her $30 for a single fuse. Same fuse replaced by another mechanic for $10.Long story short, always try to go to at least 3 mechanics before you decide on one and ask for a invoice with parts and labor estimated on it already.Avoid this place if you can in Glendale Heights.

Manager is very rude and no personality at all. The place for customers to sit is filthy dirty. And they cant even do a simple oil change. I have oil leaking all over bc they cant install an oil filter correctly. Now I have to spend more money and get more oil and a filter to fix their mistake.

We trust these guys. They will truly tell if anything needs fixing or replacing. Their prices are very reasonable. I have all my cars serviced by them. One of them has passed 300K in mileage and it’s still running well.

Ron and Bob took care of my truck which needed extensive work. They were very thorough and very considerate working around my schedule to get the work done as quickly and efficiently as possible. I can feel the difference in the ride and feel much safer now, thanks to them! Not only do these guys do top notch work but theyre a class act! Good guys!

I was treated better by these strangers than I am treated by family ! my car had a sound that we just couldnt put our fingers one. the technician working on my car was very determine to figure out what it was. I had to make him take a break and eat ! the was fully committed to my car and making sure that I was happy and all problems got fixed. I hung out here because I didnt have a way home there was a comfortable couch, a.c and I even got to watch cable as I waited ! I was right at home !I waited 2weeks to write a review because I wanted to make sure everything on my car was good and it was running smoothly. EVERYTHING IS PERFECT ! a bit prices but all good auto shops are ! they will work with you go find ur best payment option. you will get what you pay for !

0 (ZERO!!!) star!!!! Do not even think go there!! Especially if you need alignment for tires from Discount Tires across the street. Mechanics are not honest, UNPROFESSIONAL and rude. They did 4 wheel alignment for my tires which I bought across the street and I lost 2 front new MICHELIN tires in 1 month. No print before alignment and no print results after alignment. I have confirmation and I will post it (with no names) if any questions. Liars!!! For my SUV alignment I need special bolts to do it properly. The did not tell me about these bolts. I did alignment in other shop with honest mechanic who made work perfect with 3 (Caster, Camber Toe) parameters but not only one.

Very knowledgeable and honest staff. I received 3 quotes for some repair work on an under frame and cross joint work. They not only had the best price for me, the Mgr Ron didnt try to oversell me on somethings I didnt need. FINALLY, an auto repair shop that I can trust and feel good going to!! This is the only shop that I trust to work on my vehicles. I bring in everything from my wife’s SUV, my daily driver, and my full blown drag car. I trust them with it all. Owner is a car enthusiast and understands that even if it’s not his cup of tea, it’s your baby and is treated as such.

I got my car serviced at this garage. Quick and efficient. They did all the necessary services to my car. Very friendly and great technicians. Will definitely come back again.

Buyer beware

**BUYER BEWARE!!** this place will try and take advantage of you. Quoted my car at $1000.00 to repair and gave me a deadline time to try and put pressure on making a decision without having time to get second opinions. I did not get a good vibe from this place the second it was brought here. Called my dealership which found out they provide their own road side assistant and brought my car there. Turns out the dealership who I TRUST only charged me $300 for EVERYTHING due to some extended warranty I had left AND just good customer service. After I followed up with Tuffy stating I would not be getting my car worked on there and a tow truck was coming, I got attitude. DO NOT GO HERE... SCAM SCAM SCAM !

Called today to see if i could get an alignment done on my truck, i spoke to Ron who informed me he could get me right in and started on it right away. I am very pleased with the service performed . Thwy always do a great job for me and I plan on going back for future work to be done. Great job guys

Our family usually gets our alignment done here for most of our vehicles. Last time I came in they checked my car out and informed me my alignment was not off, but my tires needed to be changed. Instead of charging me for a service I didnt need they were honest which i really appreciate!

On two occasions I’ve had trouble with these guys. I travel between Texas and Illinois a couple of times a year. On the first occasion I took in a Ford Explorer that had been sitting in the drive way for a year. I asked them to have it road ready for me. One of the problems I had was the windows wouldn’t roll down, they refused to fix this. I actually ended up fixing this problem my self. About half way through my trip the car broke down and I was stranded in middle of nowhere Kentucky. Second time;I had my new tires put on my Truck at discount and they recommended Tuffy for an inexpensive alignment. Yeah I went right after and they told me they couldn’t fit me in. Okay I get it: they told me come in after the Holliday weekend and I did but once again was turned away very rudely. I asked if there was another place I could go and he abruplty said no. As I was inquiring about another time to do an alignment he answered the phone. Very rude and frustrating. I get that maybe they were busy but they were just very rude about everything . I just walked out.

Two cars running strong with Tuffy, one at 150,000 miles and one at 210,000 miles. These mechanics do their jobs well - their priority is to have you in a car that runs well. Cars need routine maintenance, and they provide it. Great job Tuffy!!!

I took my minivan in for a tune up and to have the spark plugs replaced. Less than a about 6 months later in 2018 I go back and they tell me they replaced the plugs again because they had gotten fouled up and gave me a list of repairs they wanted to do to the tune of over 2k. I took the Car to my brother who is a mechanic but live 2 hours away. He discovered that two of the spark plugs had NEVER been replaced and were still the originals. on had corroded so much the post had fallen into the cylinder. Total cost in material to actually fix the car just over $600. Most of which could have been avoided had they actually done the work they claimed to do.

The Glendale Heights Tuffys is Great!!! Ron and his staff are very knowledgeable. They were very thorough and honest with everything. Will continue to go here for many years

Horrible Services. They dont try to find the best price for you. They will initially find the most expensive part along with charging at the highest rate possible for simple services. They tried charging me 1,500 for a part and their service, I went to another place and got the part and had another place install it for only $650 all together. This place is WAY OVERCHARGED. They will do anything to make you pay, as anyone else who is all about the money and not about supporting the customer.

I went to this place to go and get a front end alignment they told me I needed parts and stop was wrong with my car it would cost over $800 before they could give that to me but I started driving my car the day after stopping here the front end of my car is making noise my brother-in-law who is a mechanic yesterday on Christmas day looked at my car and he said that somebody tampered with the front and loosening bolts off I believe that this place was actually trying to tamper with my car because its the only place that I went to for something to fall apart in the front and possibly get me into a car accident or kill me I suggest everybody do not go to this place because if you dont go and get what needs to be done to your car they are going to tell you they cant work on it because they want to make more money off of. Tuffys is under new ownership, since Sept. 2012. I have taken my mini Van here 3 times now and feel I am treated like a person not a female that knows notthing. Everything that has been done to my car has been explained in detail and old parts have been shown to me. I also feel that the pricing is fair. I will be returning for future service.

After an extremely high quote, I took my vehicle to another auto shop, who did all the fixes for 4x cheaper than Tuffy. Additionally, items Tuffy said were broken and needed to be replaced were not broken at all.Use with caution.

The Glendale Heights Tuffys is absolutely fantastic!! The mechanics know their stuff and they are very friendly. Ive taken my 10-year old car twice to them for issues -- not just simple maintenance -- and Ive always come away feeling I did the right thing and these guys are my mechanics. I also get the impression that they are NOT out to load on unnecessary expenses, which is a feeling I do get with a lot of other places.I wrote the above 4 years ago. Nothing has changed in 2019! I recently had a big problem with a 2004 F-150 truck: it failed the emissions test with a really obscure error. These guys were saviors -- they figured out the problem, which was definitely a challenge, and saw that it passed the test. Their mechanics are top notch and they are really nice guys to boot.

A couple of weeks ago, I took my Ford Explorer to Tuffys at 1153 Bloomingdale, Glendale Heights, for an oil change which included a free tire rotation & a seasonal check-up routine.The manager, Mr. Amin Wahdan, gave me an estimate with reasonable prices of needed repairs to be done. I used the coupon for oil change, which included other coupons, to save over $100.00 of the total estimated costs.I am sincerely delighted with the professional assistance I received from Ross, Amin, and Al.They provided my truck with excellent quality repair work, their job was done superbly, and on time, and they also offered a Warranty on parts and labor.This experience at Tuffys Bloomingdale truly exceeded my expectations. They run a honest and a trustworthy business.It is not always easy, being a woman, to get good car service, let alone to run the risk of being taken advantage of.
