This is a huge grocery store with a very large fresh seafood selection that is one of the best in town. A great selection of fish and the workers will prepare the fish for you however you like. The prepared foods and hot food buffet is such a great deal... I usually get two or three servings from the one box that costs only $6! They also have roasted pork and duck station, butcher section for fresh meats, and even a cute garden center for flowers and plants.
If you can get over that awful smell you can manage shopping. I was able to get a few items. For the most part it was interesting. I suggest wearing 3 mask. Not because of Covid the smell yuck!
I like going here for several things. I buy mullet here for cut bait. I also buy fresh fish to eat and they clean it the way you want for free. Lots of fish you dont see everywhere. The beef prices are reasonable and you pick what you want. Anything Asian food related is here. I find it interesting just looking at all the different things they have that Ive never seen.
Came for the blue crab to bring with me back to California. They were feisty, but they meat was mushy. Couldve been because theyre not in season. Heads up, check with airline (Southwest) how to transport. I used a styrofoam cooler, which my family have done before, but they made me buy their wax box, which didnt maintain its structure and was leaking anyways🤦
One of the cleaner Asian supermarkets around. Not sure when it opened but I was there at that time when they moved from their old location on Beechnut. I even was in this building when it was a Venture department store. Who else will tell you that?Place gets a good amount of traffic. Wide variety of seafood and meat in the back. That is where most of the foot traffic is. Produce has a very good selection. Dairy area adjacent to it has veey little traffic. Very odd. Aisles are very cramped with stock placed in middle of the throughfares.Highlights to note are the the vast ramen and rice area in the back next to the meat area. Plenty of ramen to choose from, including cases. The prepared food area is very good full of eats especially the lunch special. The banh mi is excellent, but note the lady who makes it has kind of a attitude so note that.Dim sum to the right of the sandwich aisle is average.Prices are comparable with the other markets.
There are nice workers and a lot of rude workers. Workers are Spanish n Asians workers. They will comment in their own language instead of communicating to the customers directly. The Asians workers most are bias and racial they will make you feel you cannot pay for the groceries especially when you bought a lot of groceries. One Spanish worker his facial mask is in his chin n he cough loud while walking in the aisle. Am just lucky he is just behind me. So I sprayed myself with alcohol after I get out from that store. Delta variant still high in Houston. They need training with customer service.
(as of 11/24/2020) This is a huge huge Supermarket (Sieu Thi) for the Vietnamese community and a needed one for the under represented community we have across the nation. The quantity of different products here is phenomenal! So many different Teas to sauces to fruits/veggies (fresh) as well as a large section for the pre-made to-go dishes. The prices are a lot cheaper than other standard American supermarkets around. Maybe because we were there late, but the to-go items were a bit not as flavored as we would have liked. That would be the only ding. The one item we did not get a chance to try out (and a must from what we have heard) is the Food Court (Dim Sum and BBQ Pork/Duck) food stalls. Please come visit and support your local Asian Supermarket and community!
Stay away from the snails. They are funky.Took it home and oh my goodness, wreaks of sewage. Google search says this smell is from the snails being dead. Pretty sure the funky smell of the store is coming from the tank of the snails. That tank is huge with millions of snails, no telling if they clean the tank or more so remove the dead ones.Cannot be eaten.
Its was great before corona hit. I couldnt find anything decent in fish area when I visited September 2021! Still love their dessert section!
They had a lot of variety including my favorite coconut drink that I could never find anywhere
The smell on this place is horrendous!! The main reason its so crowded is because there is so much stuff cluttering the aisles. And as always some of the rudest cashiers in town. They only speak to people of their own persuasion and the rest of us that are in there spending our money cant even get a hello. Needs some etiquette customer service training. Speaking to a customer, even just hello, is just good manners, period .
Very interesting store and a great place to buy foods for Asian and international cooking. Makes for fun shopping. Prices are reasonable. Does tend to smell like fish. Multiple vegetables and items not found in regular grocery stores. Vegetables are frequently prebagged so it can be difficult to buy small quantities. Definitely worth the trip for foodies.
They have all the Asian products you need here! They even have ready made vegan/vegetarian food in the refrigerated section in front of their little food court which I love to get for a quick meal.
Great store! Meat and seafood is always good quality, produce is fresh and have a great selection. Every time I go, there are always employees searching produce for any bad products. Also the hot food selection is big and at a good price. Great selection of dry too!
I actually went to the Teacup Cafe! Their food is AWESOME. My favorite are her chicken nuggets! The aromatic smell is only a hint of the pleasure to come. Sheer ambrosia...
Check your receipt before you leave the store. 14 items worth $35.68 appeared on my receipt that were not mine. I called the manager and he disputed me and said he checked the camera. I told him again, they were not my items, dont worry we wont shop there anymore. PS, the cashier appeared not too qualified. Beware!
One of my favorite places to go when I want to travel without getting on a plane:) Interesting selection of fresh produce, seafood and meat products. The frozen section has plenty of interesting choices as well. For those who are adventurous and like to cook Asian cusine at home, this is a must visit.
A good place to get Asian Groceries, fresh vegetables and seafood. They also have a small food Court inside for take out Chinese / Vietnamese dishes and snacks.
They have smallPharmacy in frontThey give you emty staffMake sure check before leavingO you have to pay again for the full one
This is a great store for fresh seafood however the manager from the sea department is a very very rude person I had ever seen, he likes to scream aloud in front of people to employees, I wish someone can do something about it, teach him manners of how to treat employees appropriately. I WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THIS STORE THEY RUDE.
Not to self: DO NOT GO TO ASIAN MARKETS ON GOOD FRIDAY! holy mother of cows, it was so packed and man Asians cannot drive for sh*t. Ugh parking was such a hassle and the fact that they ran out of carts?! Unbelievable! Anyway, I need some Vietnamese groceries for tomorrow’s dinner party so decided to stop by here on the way to my mom’s. They didn’t have a lot of stuff out and what was left out wasn’t that fresh. Everything seemed a little underwhelmed. So I skipped on the groceries. However, I’ve always enjoyed their mini food court! They have a few items that I absolutely love! For one, they have a little banh mi shop! And the other are their a la cart dishes. I grabbed some fried shrimp and stir fried crabs. Those are always tasty! Overall, I didn’t accomplished my goal today but sure got fed really well at the food court. Haha
Good prices lovely atmosphere and very kind employees :) Love coming here!
The place has great food and good supplies in general. Id definitely recommend. Also, the people there are pretty nice as well.
Always a good experience. Tend to come and find things I wasnt thinking of getting or forgot about.
Probably the best Asian grocery store in houston. HK markets used to be all the rage in houston back in the 90s. This place does laps around HK markets now. Our family pretty much shops here for anything you could think of for Asian groceries. Nice cashiers, fresh produce, good prepared foods, good seafood depending on what you’re looking for. Some things you can’t beat central market. They have all the random spices and sauces for Asian food.
Great on fully stocks option of varieties from vegetables to dry goods and frozen seafood. Also offer good cooked food for take out.Terrible on customers service.Cashiers need a crash course on greetings, smilings and thanking customers for shopping at their store!!!Remember, a little courteous and kindness goes a long way in life and especially in businesses.🙂🙂😉
Ive been going here pretty much as long as I can remember. It has fared much better than a lot of other places, its about the same as it has always been to be honestThe variety of good is staggering and there are areas dedicated to ramen, fresh baked goods, garden plants, and more. Its a great spot to just look around and absorb east Asian culture and goods. Maybe try something new? Theres something for everyone.
Love the huge Siopaos, steamed meat buns. I only wish they werent so expensive. I would buy more for the family.
Bought fresh fish and wanted some ice to keep it cold until I got home and in the fish department he told me to get it up front at number two register no ice. I had to go down the sidewalk to the smoothie shop and spend another 9.00 to get some ice after spending 55.00 in the store
The variety is second to none. They also accept ebt
Went to the hotel foods to get the Korean Honey Chicken wings....DELICIOUS. A friend told me about these wings.
This is the first time, I came back since Pandemic started and its so unorganized, shopping carts not even cleaned, so I wonder if they were sanitized. I usually buy my asian grocery at Well fresh and 99 Ranch but cannot compare this place. I used to loved to go this place before but unless they change and make their place clean especially this pandemic, never again.
Its a great store with alot of variety of seafood. However recently i went to buy fresh seafood there was an uncomfortable situation where the manager started arguing screaming very loud to a worker while he was working. I dont know what may have been the problem but that manager was very rude with his workers.
The employees here are rude and very nasty. I have shopped at this store for a very long time and actually use to live in the area and when I moved I always came back. This is not the first time I have had issues at this place, but this is going to be the last I will spend my money here! This morning, went to get some fish, I was the only one standing at the counter while multiple employees saw me standing there and just walked by. I said to the employee (Hispanic guy) can you pls help me. He told me nobody can, we r busy . When I asked for a manager he said there is no manager and walked away. I went to the front and asked them for a manager and they told me that the only manager Peter did not come to work till after 11 and there was nobody available to express my concerns or complaints to. This speaks volume! This place has no sense of customer service in their business approach. They are insensitive and rude to customers. People need to know this. I never want to rate a company but this warrants awareness to the public. If you are in a business servicing the public you should be sensitive to everyones needs regardless of color, ethnic background etc. If you want to be treated rudely and spoken to any kind of way you can continue to shop here. I know this is my LAST!
Everything is bigger in Texas including the Asian market. This place is the most enormous oriental market I have ever visited. They sold almost everything an Asian family needs here, from incense sticks, oil, to electronic kitchen devices, to fresh fruit, meat, seafood, and all kinds of services like send money internationally, restaurants, and stores.
They have a big variety of food products. Its a one stop shop for most Asian. You better know what you are buying because they will give you hell when you return your purchase. Unlike American stores, returns are easy with no issue. I had tried to exchange an unopened box of rice cooker to a smaller one on the next day of purchase, they refused and gave me hell.
Love this supermarket. Lots of good stuff that u can shop here. I also like the food court here. Reasonable price and delicious
Great selection of AMERICAN and INTERNATIONAL foods. Friendly staff
One of the only places and Houston that have a huge fresh fish selection and sell jackfruit
The taste is not original to me, but they have their own special.
Me and my husband go here all the time to buy oyster sauce love it and the sea food
The place have homemade food that you can bring home such as sour soup and caramel fish.
They have a large selection of Asian products including a great hot steam table of authentic Vietnamese food, hot and ready to serve. Delicious 😋
Its pretty good. However, i usually go there in random hours when not too many people are there. Personally, it is too crowded for me but i guess its great for the owner. The aisles are too small, it might be because its too crowded. The downside for me is the arrangements of the products are organized in different ways than other stores like ranch for example. For instance, the Indonesian products are spread out and blended with other products. They organized the products by the similarities so for finding a specific Indonesian product, i have to comb each and every aisles. Other than that, i pretty much go there if i want to look for Indonesian groceries. It is more complete than ranch.
Viet Hoa is one of my favorite Asian Supermarket. Viet Hoa have many variety of fresh seafood, exotic produces, and many many more.
They have variety foods in this market, they sell ready to eat hot meals too and there is a lunch room for people to eat their meals, very convenient. The price is reasonable
Its was ok for first time clean and organized.

This place rocks on attitude, variety and efficiency. Fresh produce, fresh seafood and meat. Efficient customer service and great location.
A great selection of Asian food products, and a good fast food steam table, authentic asian barbeque, whole roasted pork, duck, and chicken.
I love the fresh seafood options they have. I shop here once a week.
An amazing amount of asian products and groceries, loved it.
Just a smell is the turn off for me in this location. Cool store though.
Excellent mix of food and stuff! Tea, noodles, groceries, veggies, rice cookers, seafood, food to go, ...you name it!
Great! But the price little high
Such a variety of FRESH seafood and veggies. So many vegetarian options, noodles, soy sauces, fish sauces, hoison sauces, black chicken (SUPER SUPER RARE and HARD to find), freshly cooked meals including chicken, fish, and duck.
Typical Asian supermarket. Comparable to HKM. Good produce. They had what I needed!
Love this market nd the friendly ppl that come there
You get fresh fish, seafood and other stuffs for a reasonable price.
Very nice and affordable price for international groceries. You can find exotic fruit, snack, spices, food, and even alcohol. There so much selection when you are here shopping. Must go when you are in the Bellaire area.
Wide variety of plants orchids etc food choices of Asian stuff and food and beverage
Very good food and very friendly staff all thumbs up to the store
Good food. Best bbq buns and duck.
The best stoe ever you have to go there
Big big comprehensive grocery store
I brought in some moon cakes I purchased from another store. It was clearly in another bag and looks nothing like what they sell. The lady in the front of the store not only gave me a hard time, but went through my stuff without asking and slightly damaged one of my boxes which was meant to be given as a gift.
Lots of tummy ready to eat options, nice looking produce.
The absolute biggest and best Vietnamese market Ive ever been to. They offer absolutely anything and everything you could ever want and need. The dim sum and bakery are astoundingly delicious. And they serve the best Bahn mi Ive ever had
