I have been a very loyal customers of U-Haul since the day it has been open for many times we rented their U-Haul ever since they remodeled the whole place I am extremely very happy they have more selections to help you to move like boxes a real cheap if you buy it in a bundle for $0.99 each and they also have many sizes and heavy-duty boxes and to hold heavy stuff they have straps to sit on your shoulder or hands to lift up heavy duty machine like washing machines and dryers and hopefully will not break your back :-)! They have locks and different kind of tapes and plastic bubbles to protect your glasses :-)! This place is huge located on South Gessner between 59 Southwest Freeway and Beechnut zip code 77036 :-)! What is even more wonderful they have cheap storage room 10 x 10 is only $99 a month :-)! I wish they have two cashier to help the customer so you dont have to wait until they finished the other customer and they can give you the full attention like a concierge do to give you and help you with everything and make it easy to move :-)! I do wish instead of charging $29.99 for 15 or 17 feet truck it used to be $19.99 but they raise the price higher how disappointing and now they say what they would charge $0.89 per miles instead of unlimited like it used to be how disappointing and you can use your own car insurance to cover the truck but you have to call the insurance if they would cover it :-)! What is even better now you can get the truck with this new high technology anytime of the day all you have to use is your cellular phone and put the U-Haul app and follow the directions! Its like you being an employee yourself doing the jobs for the companies but for warning you must pay attention what time you clock out the usage of the truck you have to turn it in before or exactly on time when you check it out or they will charge you extra money :-(! They have many selection to choose from you could use a van or truck or different size of moving trucks but it will be different prices only the Van and Truck and its smaller moving truck will be $19.99 for each day:-)! And for the first time I had never know they have a collector U-Haul pin you could wear on your shirt for $6.95 Bucks :-)! They have a dragonfly and American flags and a ship and etcetera selection to choose from :-)! I hope that you all customers will enjoy and be very helpful shopping there like they do for me :-)!
Never rented moving equipment before but their policy requires a secondary contact and I have none. Not hard to believe for a 32 year old single man. Yet Tre refused to rent me a utility dolly because one person I talk to thats not business related would not pick up the phone. Went down the street on Beechnut and had no issues, I even told them the secondary contact may not pick up if they dont know whos calling through caller Id. This man took pictures and scanned my ID, the beechnut location down the street did not and just took my deposit. The dollys in this location are red, didnt see any others with uhaul labeling or was told of any others. The beechnut location from what I saw and rented were orange, bigger and had proper labeling for the same price. Uhaul may be Americas choice for moving equipment and rentals but they sure arent very American. They have NFC scanners and still have this bogus policy as if that would stop bad people from doing what they do. No respect for privacy, none will be given back.

Do not go to this location. The manager is running some type of upgrade scam. After reserving a truck refused to give the truck and try to upgrade to a higher prive truck.

My fiance and I work for one of the largest promotions companies in North America. We do(did) a lot of business with this location. Thanks to the hiring of an employee named Doris, and her fowl, poor, sorry excuse for customer service, we will never return to this location again! My fiance, who merely showed up to the facility at 6pm instead of when she had reserved the cargo van at 4pm, was treated rudely and talked down to and SCOLDED by this woman! Listen Doris, we employ your services. You do not speak down to customers or make them feel as though they did something wrong. Keep your personal feelings out of a business transaction, and do what is best for the company. Because a customer acknowledges that you have a BAD attitude does not warrant refusal of service. We will never be back.

Worst experience of my entire life. These people have lied to and stole from us, and then had the audacity to treat US like the liars and the thieves, this treatment coming from District Management all the way down to the extremely rude and unprofessional store clerks. The entire staff was uneducated about their products, resulting in selling us equipment we didnt even need because it didnt work for what we explained we needed it for. Give this company of rude lying thieves a very very wide berth, lest you be their next victims. Go spend your hard earned money at Public Storage or Enterprise or even Uncle Bobs Storage, anywhere else but with U-Haul where they will clearly and unabashedly lie to you and steal your money.
Manager was very rude and disrespectful. No type of people skills. Destiny Wilcox. Told me I can go somewhere else to get just a dolly. Who says that to a paying customer? She needs new training on how to talk to people. No one deserves to be insulted the way she did me. On top of that she had me call 2 ppl for alternate contacts which she didn’t do to the customer in front of me and then lied to me about doing so in front of my face while I was there the whole time. Complete waste of time. Something that should have took near 5 minutes took more than half an hour. Didn’t have time to complain and talk to someone above her bc I was in a rush. She really tried to get smart with me and have that kind of attitude. Uhual you can do better on finding better people like seriously
I know its not the locations fault, but the truck was absolutely horrible. It was horribly maintained. The power steering pump chattered horribly when performing any turn. The engine smelled like burning oil. The truck wouldnt start until the second try every time. The transmission felt like it was going to die. The steering felt loose, and unpredictable. But the A/C did work and it got our stuff to where we were going. Its by far the worst Truck I have ever received from u-haul (and I have driven quite a few) but it got us where we were going. Also they did not give it to me completely full. I had to put more gas in it than I used to avoid getting charged the 3.50 a gallon fee. The website also is pretty useless if it says a 26 truck is located at the location right next to me, only to find out that theres only a 24 truck available 20 miles away when I get a call from a uhaul agent after reserving the 26 right next to me. Very misleading. I expected better and was gravely disappointed.

I rented a UHaul van from the location on 8015 S Gessner Rd in Houston, TX from August 20-22, 2016. I was easily able to make my reservation and do early check-in online. This particular rental was to deliver relief and supplies to affected flood victims in South Lousiana. So we had donations put together to purchase the UHaul. In advance I purchased a gift certificate online for the approximate cost of the UHaul (325.00). I printed the reservation information and the UHaul gift certificate to have with me when I picked up the van. When I arrived at the facility to pick up our UHaul van the representative (female, unsure of her name) was talking on her cell phone and was incredibly rude. When I mentioned that I was paying with a gift certificate her response was Uhhh what gift certificate? She had no idea what I was talking about. I explained to her my situation and that I was paying with a gift certificate, and let her know that I also understood they needed a credit/debit card on file. So I provided her with my debit card. Initially I was informed by customer service that the hold on my card would be $80.00. However, without telling me, the store representative placed a hold for about $350.00 causing my account to overdraft. I told her I could not have a hold on my account for that amount, and that I did not realize the deposit would be for the entire amount of the trip. She then hung up her PERSONAL phone call and proceeded to call someone named Sam. Sam took nearly 30 minutes to get to the location to assist me. Sam also acted clueless as to what the gift certificate was, and also did not let me know that canceling the transaction would still leave a hold on my card for 2-3 days BEFORE he charged another one of my cards for the deposit (I asked them to please cancel the hold on my debit card and use one of my credit cards instead). So, at this point I now have a 350.00 hold on TWO of my cards. The van was absolutely filthy. There were stale donuts in the console, and my hands turned brown when I held the steering wheel. There was dust and trash throughout the cabin of the van. The wheel shook horribly and the van also smelled terrible. Driving the van for 700 miles was a terrible experience, and I felt incredibly unsafe. This was the absolute worst experience Ive ever had with UHaul, and it was all in the name of charity. I am not sure if I will use UHaul in the future. Very disappointed.
I only called to get information but the service was the poorest. The customer service girl hung up the phone on me while i was still speaking. Certainly not going to patronize them.

If your going to use the storage ask for the ground floor its not worth going up stairs to store your stuff make sure its ground
