It was our first time purchasing a vehicle from a dealership and we were very pleased with our experience. We really didnt know much about the process or what to expect just which car we were interested in. We ended up with a great salesman named Ron who was very friendly and very informative. He went out of his way to help us in several ways and never pressured us into anything. He even made sure a few very minor issues were taken care of before we drove off the lot. We rolled in with our older van in very rough shape looking to upgrade and were able to get a decent trade in for a 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan that checked all our boxes. The whole process was very smooth and went relatively quick. The dealership even managed to get us great financing that was better than the pre approved loan we showed up with from our credit union and with extended warranty coverage included. There wasnt anything we were unhappy with when it was all said and done and I definitely recommend this Ron Tonkin location for other fist time buyers. Having the car detailed before they brought it to us was a great touch too!

Awesome experience. As a hotshot transporter using the Mopar service package for oil changes, Im at the mercy of the que for the Mopar Express Lanes. On the road needed to get an oil change and tire rotation so I called them up. They put me on the list and I made it at the time we agreed. The techs got me in and out in 45 minutes. In my business time is money, and Im really impressed at the no hassle, fast service. Will keep them in mind next time Im in the area. Thanks!!

Bought a truck for one of my employees. I contacted the dealership, they told me what they had in stock. When I arrived the salesman, Aaron greeted me shortly after I came in. Showed me the truck I was looking for, and made the process very simple. The PM who is getting this truck went by the next morning to look at it, and was very happy with the truck and its amenities. The negotiations were handled by remote control by phone the next day. The sales manager, Jake, called me the next day to finalize our deal over the phone. We agreed to pricing and dealer installed accessories over the phone, and the deal was done. When I arrived they had all the paperwork ready for me to sign, and was in and out within about 45 minutes.Excellent experience from start to finish, my PM LOVES!! this truck. Overall, this was one of the simplest most professional auto dealer interaction and process Ive ever experienced. The salesman, sales manager, and finance manager did an excellent job.

What a great selection of vehicles. Especially in a vehicle shortage where it’s hard to find something special. I certainly did find a special one and Scott Granstrom helped me do it. He’ll work super hard for the deal. I purchased from Washington and he locked in my trade price without even seeing it first all while working the best deal for me just on a possibility of me driving two hours to buy a truck. Well worth it and I will 100% go back. Jerry in finance got us in and out quickly and even got an extended warranty package that LOWERED my payment in doing so. Amazing. Thanks again!

Update,My dodge has now been there 28 days, waiting to hear if they have started on it. Last update was Oct 12...Not a frequent reviewer.Since 2003, always had good experiences here and have purchased 3 cars thru Tonkin.But so far something is different.It took three days to get a live person to get a vehicle in for service starting on Friday 9/17. No one would answer phone, no one would answer call. Not until Monday noon.Vehicle was delivered Monday. They assured me I didnt have to be there to when it arrived. They called me to say it was delivered and they would get back to me.It has now been 3 days and I havent spoken to anyone. I have left two messages to assess service status and any information needed from me. Someone even sent me directly to the voicemail of Johnny.. I spent $1400 in towing to get vehicle there, and now they dont have the courtesy to return a call or respond to message for 3 days, so far...

Very Poor Customer Service. Made an appointment for oil change and service to be done to my work vehicle. They claimed that only 1 lift could handle my vehicle and its being used for the past 3 days, and that they could not do the work. No phone call the day before or the day of letting me know this. This place is where good customer service does not exist, but Poor Attitude and lack of follow up is very strong here.

Very happy, very relieved, very very satisfied! I HATE buying cars. The back and forth, the games, the scams, the dirty tricks of salesman and financing. This was not my experience here at Ron Tonkin. I settled on a price before I stepped onto the lot and got a good deal. I did all my homework to prepare for the worst (thank you The Homework Guy on YouTube!!), but everyone here was laid back, easy going, straightforward. This is literally my first purchase in my lifetime where I wasnt fleeced. Ron Tonkin has earned my trust. Ill be back!

These people are liars. They sold a car from under me and never called I drove 3 hours to buy a car. They sold it hours before I got there. They offered no apology just excuses. Absolutely disgusting behavior. They went to get another car for me and took about 20 minutes to even find out if it was there. I actually never got an answer and left.

Interesting that they will not answer the phone in the service department but tell you to schedule an appointment online. I did this only to wait for the appointment date, take time off work to drive to the dealership, have a coworker take time off to follow me so I have a ride back only to be told AFTER all of this that the repair that I specifically typed out in the online request, could not be performed there? Then they say they have to see when I can get in at the main shop only to be told they can fix my radio not working but they cannot fix the clogged drain tube from the sunroof because they dont have that kind of diagnostics???? This is a common and simple repair that A-1 Auto was able to fix same day and in 30 min. Would not recommend this service department for any reason.

I have never experienced such poor customer service. They had my car for a month and not once did I recieve a call from them, I had to call them to get any kind of information. Then when I did get my car back and paid the bill of $2200 the car wasn’t even in good running order I instantly got a check engine light. Then called back and got the same lack of response. They are terrible avoid this dealership at all cost!

I do NOT trust these slimy dealerships. I have a brand new ram truck under warranty through this facility and I’m just hoping they do not CON me like they’ve done next door at Mglaughlin Chevy. So far so good. Had first oil change and had a sensor recall they promised to get back to me on. Been a month and have heard nothing. Recall work does not make them much money so they have little incentive to do recalls. I’m thinking of installing battery powered cameras for the oil changes.l literally don’t even trust them to do an oil change properly. I’m hoping these folks can change my feeling on dealerships. So far.....meh

I bought my 2018 ram 2500 Laramie over 3 yrs ago. Anytime I come in for a tire rotation/oil change/flat repair etc it always takes double the expected time. The service is horrible and I am so disappointed. I got a great deal on the truck, but sure wish I lived close to a dealership that wasnt inept. Theyve broken my tpms sensor and wouldnt replace, they scratched my nice wheels, and really been nothing but a nightmare non stop.

I messed up and didnt make an appointment but they squeezed me in for an oil change and tire rotation. I was prepared to wait. While I did they performed a recall on my Jeep as well. Super pleased with the service and everyone there was pleasant and helpful.

Let me tell you about Pam in the service department. When I got there I was worried and very annoyed about my experience over the phone trying to make an appointment with the service people. Upon my arrival I explained my situation and she literally took over and help me with my jeep issues, she diagnosed the problem and made me feel better about my car. Thank you Pam so far my car has not had that issue I was complaining about.

Terrible customer service! My husband and I went there yesterday interested in trading in our car for a Jeep Gladiator. We went in there with a car that we have only had for a handful of months and had a lot of negative Equity, but also knew how much the cars trade in value was….they barely gave us the time of day…as a matter of fact Jaime the guy who was “helping” us came up and wouldn’t even tell us how much they were willing to give for our car literally said he didn’t want to insult us….just by saying that we felt insulted. After that he was done and wouldn’t do a thing to help make it happen unless we paid off what we were negative. Today we left Jim Doran with a jeep! They even paid off most of our car and we are barely carrying over any rollover and accepted what we were willing and able to put down. They lost a sale due to their poor customer service and arrogance. Never will I ever consider going there again! I would have given 0 starts if I could.

We received a recall notice and called Ron Tonkin to make an appointment. They had us in within four days, working around our schedule. The facility is so nice and the employees friendly, professional and helpful. We were in and out in a timely manner and Pam was with us every step, keeping us informed from scheduling to job completion. As dealerships go, this one stands out. We highly recommend them.

I went to go buy a vehicle there and they refused to provide a trade-in value for my vehicle after telling me they will give me a trade-in value for my vehicle. It appeared as if the salesmen(plural) were not being fully honest with me about their intent. Will not recommend based on this transaction.

MUST READ! Absolutely the worst customer service in the history of service! If it was possible to leave a negative star ranking i would -10 stars!! Buy a 60k car and then they dont return calls for support or issues! Service department is the absolute worst! Never answers the phone and when i randomly showed up they were just sitting around literally talking about nothing after I was sitting in the parking lot calling! You have a better chance of finding someone to help you at Walmart then this dealership! Buy your car somewhere else! Trust me!

I have been looking for a vehicle for some time now and came upon a Nissan Murano at Ron Tonkin Jeep Dodge. I was given ample time to test drive and kick the tires. The car was in great shape for a used vehicle-I have seen some bad cars at other dealers. My sales person, Scott was very helpful and worked hard to get me a great deal on the car. The manager (so sorry I forgot his name!) went above and beyond to get me a good price on my trade in. I would strongly recommend this dealership for your next car or truck purchase.

Jeff got me into a new Ram for a incredible price. He was able to work on my behalf over the phone for hours and make the sale for me the same day. When I arrived Jeff was on the spot with two models to test drive; a real class act. The rest of the staff, including the finance guy, Jason, were very helpful, totally knowledgeable, and really like to sell Dodge Rams. I recently bought a new Jeep at the Milwaukie location. The finance process was great but my service center experience was the worst experience I’ve ever had with any vehicle I have owned in the last 19 years. I anticipated that when I brought my car in, I would easily swap cars just like any other time I’ve been loaned a vehicle during a service. That didn’t happen. I was shuttled with my son to Enterprise to be put in a car, an hour goes by and I still don’t have a rental. Multiple phone calls happen with the dealership, multiple other people get their vehicles but not us. I had to have my mom come get me and my son and left without a rental. I wasn’t told when my vehicle would be done either. I called in to speak with the manager and was promised my car would be ready the next day so I could have my mom drive me back up there to be done with this messy process. I wait to hear from them and no one calls. So I call multiple times since no one answers and left multiple messages. Finally get a call back stating that my car won’t be done until Monday and if I want I could come up to be put in another rental. I said no that doesn’t work since I work all next week and cannot just come up when it’s finally ready. I asked for my car to be retrieved and forego the rest of the service. Come to find they hadn’t done anything to my car all day and they could have called me to inform me of that much earlier or at least give me options. If I Wouldn’t have called, would anyone have called to let me know? Do they just make this plan without realizing I may need my car before then especially since I didn’t get a rental as I was supposed to? This is very poor communication and planning. I will never go back to this location for any service that needs to be done. Make sure if you do you ask ahead of time if you will actually get a loaner or if they will ship you off to get a rental that won’t be ready for you and make sure you don’t need your actual car for multiple days or expect anyone to communicate any of this to you. I also left another message with the manager and didn’t get a return call either. Very poor customer service.

Went through a Chrysler buy back on our jeep almost a year ago. Everyone we dealt with at Ron Tonkin during that stressful time was amazingly helpful and we walked away thrilled with our Replacement. When it came time to buy my husbands truck it was more then worth the drive from Vancouver. Called multiple times to get connected to the service department. New customer needing my Ram Rebel serviced. Craig informed me was not a receptionist would answer and transfer me. I don’t blame him.But Still would be forwarded to voicemail.After reading reviews regarding service department I understand why the reviews are one star or bad.If I can’t even get a hold of them or get service completed then it’s best to spend my money else where. If my truck needed serious repairs or checking on completion of repairs I bet I would of not received answers like others reviews.Let’s see if I get an answer with this review.

Jamie Schaab, a Salesman, refused to send me photos of a vehicle because Im currently out of state and he wanted my wifes information. My wife would be the one would was going to look at the vehicle and handle most of the purchasing, but we wanted more photos before we made the trip (the vehicle only had 5). I told Jamie that he didnt need my wifes information right now and that he could talk to me. All I was trying to do was acquire more photos before going to test drive. I asked Jamie if I could speak to the sales manger to find someone else to help me. Jamie then hung up the phone. I never write review, but this was just horrible customer service.

First of all, the people I worked with were polite and friendly.Honestly, the purchasing process was ok when we bought the vehicle 2 years ago.The wait time was a little longer than I would have liked, but I also now understand that they gave been also carrying the weight of the Gresham dealerships work due to their roof collapse during the snow storm.I would recommend if you plan on any service that says itll be an hour, or more, and you have lower back problems, their chairs for waiting may make your wait a little difficult. While their customer area is esthetically pleasing, unfortunately the chairs are a nightmare for anyone with the slightest back problems. Both myself and the other guy waiting were having trouble sitting in those chairs after only half an hour, and had to keep moving around, getting out of the chairs to stretch, and move around.

When we drove in to the Ron Tonkin Ram dealership in Milwaukie, we were immediately met with a friendly smile from Brian T who asked if he could help us. We explained to Brian we were looking to compare prices and features of vehicles (Ram, Ford, & Chevy) and wanted to see what Ron Tonkin had in stock. Brian was very helpful and before we knew it, our decision was made to purchase a new Ram 1500 with the eco-diesel, Big Horn model. I purchased a brand new 2018 Dodge diesel pickup truck from here. In 2019 there was a recall performed the recall was fixed by Soldering A steering wheel column. Now 2021 I had a wreck with my truck. . Got truck repaired All except the Soldered recall could not be done and realigned. I Contacted the recall and told them the situation they gave me a case number and then I need to have it Aligned then re install. Ron Tonkin Dodge refuses to do it. In other words if you are ever in an accident or just need to realign your truck YOU CANT. STAY AWAY dont ever purchase or have Vehicle repaired here go anywhere else but here. I will now contact the Better Business Bureau in regards to this matter.

I have a 2004 dodge 2500. As I was driving out of a parking lot my steering stabilizer just snapped right in half. I had it towed to my mechanic and after looking at it he notified me that there was a safety recall out for that year truck for the steering assembly and that it would be covered by dodge. So I had it towed to Gresham dodge. After a week, we got a snowstorm and the roof of the service dept caved in. I totally understand how that would impact things and went in to talk to them to see how long it would be to get my truck back, seeing as it was my daily driver. They said they were at least one month out but if I wanted it done quicker to have it towed to the dodge dealership in Milwaukie. No assistance offered, no rental car offered nothing. So I paid out of my own pocket to have it towed across town to milwaukie. After literally two weeks and two dozen phone calls and voicemails, a service tech finally responded to me to inform me they would not be repairing it under the recall and that if I wanted it fixed it will cost me 1900 dollars and they’re a month out on parts. I had it towed back to my personal mechanic (who used to work at dodge) and he was mind blown they wouldn’t replace it for me. He had me take pictures of the broken part and we are now going through the process with Chrysler to get it covered. Absolute horrible customer service. If anybody ever has issues with their rig I highly recommend finding a good rated local mechanic and stay away from these guys. Recall and warranty work takes away from their bottom line and they’ll do anything to avoid it. I went over a month without my daily driver and was able to talk to someone about my vehicle ONE TIME in a month. And it was to tell me I’m S.O.L. Stay away. Far far away.

Took my fiat here for a recall replacement. Johnny was my service rep. Took it in on a Friday and it was supposed to be done Monday. Then they told me they had to wait on parts for three weeks but they would get me a rental in a couple days. Fine no big deal but then I called three days later after not hearing anything. Johnny told me they found the parts and it would be ready the following day. Therefor no need for a rental car. I live an hour from the dealership so after I had a ride arranged was ready to go pick it up I called to make sure it was ready. He said that the clutch alignment tool was broken and he had to wait for a new one the following day. So every day since there has been a new excuse each less believable than the last. Ive been setting up and canceling rides to get me to the dealership for 5 days now. Yesterday I when I talked to Johnny he said it would FOR SURE be done today. He was supposed to call me to verify it was finished before my ride left at 3. I didnt hear from him so I left him 2 messages asking about the status. My ride had to get going so I hitched a ride assuming no news is good news and that it cant possibly be delayed yet again. I was wrong. So Ive been without a car for 11 days now. Between rescheduling my life around trying to get rides to get my car back, Johnnys absolute inability to communicate with me, the fact that they wont provide a rental, and now that I had to call another friend to come pick me up from an hour away, I am completely fed up with this dealership.I would give it less than 1 star if i could. I will be having a third party mechanic look at it because i do not trust half of what they have told me. But i cant do that yet because I STILL DONT HAVE MY CAR!!!!!!

This dealership tried to sell me a car with a barely detectable level of power steering fluid and with significant engine wiring and harness damage due to MICE or RATS.I’m so glad I didn’t purchase their Pre-Owned 2013 Mazda 3i Grand Touring hatchback with 36,803 miles that they currently have for sale for $14K+.I was told multiple times the car was completely safe. They said it was a trade-in, explaining how it had been properly and rigorously inspected by their service department before being offered up for sale. They told me I had nothing to worry about…that they were a reputable dealership…and that if I took the car somewhere else for a Pre-Purchase Inspection, they were “1000% sure it’d pass with flying colors.”It didn’t.The first independent Pre-Purchase Inspection on 1/24/2019 discovered that the power steering fluid was so low the technician couldn’t even get a reading from it. The dealership had no explanation for why they missed this, but said they’d take care of it. Once again, they reassured me I had nothing to worry about because they “only sell quality cars.” During price negotiations, the manager also unprofessionally insisted that I purchase 4 large pizzas for him and his sales team as part of his final offer, which I refused to do.Concerned about the integrity of the dealership, as well as the true condition of the car, I decided to get another opinion.On 1/28/2019, I scheduled a second, more thorough independent Pre-Purchase Inspection. When the technician removed the engine cover, he found RATS or MICE had chewed on various engine wires and harness. He also found that someone had TAPED over the chewed areas. He unequivocally said I shouldn’t buy this car.Here are the technician’s notes: “Immediately found wiring harness inside engine compartment to have been partially repaired due to rats or mice chewing on wires. Still repeated damage to wires. Some wires are completely chewed through. This vehicle has a strong chance of repeated electrical work done due to mice chewing through harness.”Clearly, Ron Tonkin Chrysler Jeep Dodge RAM FIAT of Milwaukie didn’t seem to care about my safety or about the quality of the used cars they sell. Sales, service, and finance are a joke. They dont come through with promises, they dont do any research, they care about sales and themselves. Still havent found a good Mopar dealership here in Oregon yet. Unfortunately, we own a new mopar vehicle and it still has a warranty on it but we dont want to use it through the local dealers. If you are looking for parts, then you will be safe here for that. Parts department has had everything i needed or was looking for! Recommend their parts friendly highly and thats about it.Response to owner: It wouldnt be just one experience, its been 3 experiences now. Between purchasing a vehicle, and twice with service department.

Update: After I emailed their customer care I received an apology and a call where I provided trade information again as they had no record of what I had already sent. To their credit they provided a proposal promptly however we are not able to reach terms.Contacted them last week with a pretty straightforward question about what was included in rebates for a vehicle. Texted me and emailed me without answering me but wanted all sorts of other information not relevant to my simple question, told me would call but never did. I called the person that emailed, E, and left a message but no call back. This week I decided to give them another chance, called again for sales. Got some guy from sales who just cut me off and said you need internet and transferred me to G. Talked to G, talked details and got answer to my question, wanted trade in and gave him VIN and details, told me he would get back shortly. No answer all day, called and left voicemail in the afternoon and as of about noon the next day still no follow up.Apparently they are too busy to sell vehicles to customers that want to buy, I must be bothering them for this to happen twice. The sale price was good, I wasnt even going to haggle as long as given fair value for trade....

Communication was a bit difficult but I guess I had an unusual issue going on. I had to pay for an ECM when it was not the issue and it took a little over two months to get it fix and it came down to a wire issue but it runs great now and I have a new turbo and ecm and feel confident that the rest of the electrical is good since the tech had to look through so much to find the real problem. 3 stars for the fair price but not 5 cause of timing and having to replace things that was not the issue.

We had an appointment to look at trucks. When we arrived we were told our salesperson was busy and would be with us shortly. That never happened and we were turned over to someone without experience or knowledge that we needed. However, we found the truck we wanted. We asked for two things. First a side step second a bed liner. They actually turned away the sale. We had stellar credit and 10k down. We left. They really didn’t care and we’re not personable.

I recently had a wonderful experience at Ron Tonkin Dodge. I needed an oil change for my vehicle and have been putting this off due to my schedule, unfortunately I had to cancel my appointment at the last minute and Bree was so sweet and understanding and we were able to set up an appointment a couple days later that fit my schedule. During these COVID days of social distancing and new clean protocols I felt safe and secure with their implemented measures, including both the waiting area and the vehicle itself. I felt right at home with Bree greeting me at my vehicle, keeping me posted during the process and even walking me to my car and sending me on my way. I give Bree and Ron Tonkin Dodge Service Department 5-stars for these reasons and look forward to our next service date.

Bought my last truck from them so I decided to go back.. first off it took almost 2 weeks to get my vehicle, then I had to bring it back for more repairs... an now I have to take it to a private body shop to get bumper fixed. An the safety inspection was never done on it.. I took it ho.me an headlights didnt work..

The sevice has been horrible. In October they never called back to inform me my part had arrived like they said. The phone service is nonexistent! I called this afternoon to ask about my appointment tomorrow, all you get a answer service that tell you leave a message, and again of course... no return call. If you are looking into getting a Jeep Wrangler and are shopping around - I wouldn’t recommend coming here. I am a serious buyer and called in to make an appointment. I found a Jeep I liked. The sales guy let me know to wear a mask and gloves and to come on by. I took my whole family and we were excited to look at the Wrangler and see if it’s a good fit for our small family. Once I got there I wasn’t greeted. Nobody seemed to want to help. Finally the man I talked to shows up and asks some questions. I told him we are seriously interested in purchasing a Jeep but wanted to test drive one. He took down my ID and insurance info and documented it. Then he came back and said we wouldn’t be able to test drive the car unless we started the applications on buying it. I was very disappointed. I understand window shoppers come on by. Maybe a courtesy notice of this requirement would have been nice. Would have saved 2 hours of my day. Overall a very bad experience.

I am always a bit skeptical of car dealerships because I have bought a few other cars and have always been turned away due to credit or was pushed into something we didnt want. Ron Tonkin Dodge was a different experience all together. We worked with Scott in sales and started our process online. We had a fast approval with many buying options despite having some rough credit spots. When we decided to go for a test drive, they reserved the car and did not hassle us into any obligation. We were able to have multiple financing options as they work with a ton of lenders. They will work hard to get you a good deal and Aaron in financing showed us that right away. Even when we were approved online, he continued to work with the bank to get us an even better interest rate and payment. With the lowered payment they even were able to throw in extras such as the free oil changes, a better warranty, and window tinting. They were friendly and not pushy. We cant thank Scott and Aaron enough for our new challenger! What a difference the experience can be when its not just up to the dealership and you have the buying power which they found for us when others could not. They really want their customers to be happy and have the financing options to make that possible. We will continue our business with Ron Tonkin when I plan my next car purchase!

Unexpectedly, the air bag light came on. Car isnt new, doesnt have a warranty. Took it here, the staff are friendly, helpful, updated me the whole way through. The replacement part got temporarily lost in the system, it wasnt their fault. They were ready to give me a loner car free of charge, but at the end of the day, the part showed up, and the car was all put back together the next morning. It costs a bit of money for this type of repair, but all things considered, it was very reasonable. I am very pleased with the experience.

Our second new vehicle in the last 6 months.We had some towing needs, they worked with us to get exactly what we needed.The negotiation was very easy. We discussed how much we wanted to pay for the new vehicle. Extremely fast and simple, and very much costumer serviced oriented.
