Traveling through Moscow and experienced car problems. Stopped in without any appointment. Dan was so great, he grabbed his coat and came out in the rain to offer assistance. He put fluids in the vehicle without charge, and while they couldn’t do our repairs due to timing, they were no less concerned with trying to help with other recommendations to help us on our way. Super friendly and caring.

I actually have not gone in for the service yet but just form talking on the phone with them I feel compelled to leave a review. I was in an accident back in July and when I received my car back from a different mechanic there were still clear issues and no one was taking it seriously, essentially telling me I would need to pay for diagnostic/etc. out of pocket for their mistake. I was finally refereed here and after all of two minutes on the phone the gentlemen I was speaking to was taking everything I was saying as a serious issue and went out of his way to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. I’ll come back and update this once I’ve gotten my car back from the shop but, so far, I highly recommend Moscow Auto

Im very impressed and pleased. I thought I had a much bigger issue (oil leak) but they took care of the problem quickly and at low cost. All the personnel I spoke with were kind and professional.

My most recent experience was not good. I squeezed in an appointment while packing for a move. Theres a lot of boxes in my truck, and apparently the mechanic needed to move the seat a few inches because they tipped and pushed my personal things out of the way, and also crushed a box behind the seat. Absolutely no need to do this, with complete disregard to my property. The woman I spoke to about this was patronizing and rude.COVID-19 update: nobody at this business wears masks or observes sanitation guidelines. I did not feel safe inside the small office with no ventilation. My credit cards were handled by other people, I used a dirty pen to sign, and felt compelled to wipe down every surface in my truck after leaving.This is all really unfortunate, because the mechanics do great work and pricing here is fair. Weve brought our vehicles here for 30 years, but I will not be returning to Moscow Auto Service.

Honest and fast..fixed my AC problem on the hottest day of the year

Service was great; but, that are pricey when it comes to local towing.

We called for tow truck, it surprised me how fast Can arrived, very helpful and caring.

My little brothers 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis suspension completely collapsed while driving down the road onto his left front wheel. Owner Dan @ Moscow Auto picked it up with a tow, replaced both sides ball joints, and new alignment done in less than 24 hours returned to my brother so he can make it to work the next day. All of this was done with me calling asking for help while I am in Boise, and over the phone asking for their services. Utterly amazing service, and value. Couldnt have asked for a better transaction.Thank you ever so much for saving my brothers rear end!

Greatest Auto repair shop Ive seen in a long time. Needed to have some basic work (brakes/brake light switch/gasket replaced. The gave me a quote for 420.00 total, and when I dropped off car, they drove me back home for day. Meineke quoted me 440.00 for just the brakes. Called to let me know timing chain was starting to go, and valve cover should be replaced soon, but was over my budget, so I postponed it. They completed the work, car runs much better now. Cant recommend more highly.

My daughter attends U of I and her car broke down on a Saturday night. Moscow Auto services was quick to meet her and tow her car back to their shop. Their team then diagnosed the problem on Monday (alternator) and had her car back on the road by Wednesday. We are sometimes skeptical about new mechanics that we are not familiar with; however, I am pleased to share that Moscow Auto Services is an excellent resource in Moscow. While we never want our cars to breakdown, it is nice to know that there is a respectable and reliable mechanic in Moscow!

My wife and I were visiting our son in Moscow, Idaho as part of a 2 week vacation. We were pulling our RV and staying at the Fairgrounds. The day before we were to depart, our radiator started leaking. We were directed by a couple locals to go to Moscow Auto Services. The locals think highly of their work and their good reputation preceded them. We took our truck their mid afternoon on Tuesday. They were busy but stopped to evaluate our problem. They ordered up the necessary parts and said the parts would be there first thing next morning. We had our truck there by 7am the next morning and they had us back on the road by 10:30am!! We were amazed and grateful for a job well done!! Thank You. We highly recommend Moscow Auto Services. They are excellent mechanics and their customer service is fantastic!

Great auto place. I went here on a coworkers recommendation for a new starter my old 93 Nissan and they did a great job. I have returned since for an oil change on that car and twice for oil changes on my new RAV4. Most recently they asked me if I needed a ride anywhere while my car was being worked on. Great service option! Very trustworthy place to get your worked on in the Palouse for routine maintenance or unplanned service.

I was engine problems on a Sunday evening coming back from fishing up by St. Maries. My son recommended these guys, having had his car in there a couple of times before. Saw that this shop was open at 7:00 am on a Monday, so I showed up early at 6:45 am, but not early enough! The shop was already open! I walked in and immediately Dan (one of the Owners) came up to the counter to assist me. I described the problem, he drew a theory, grabbed his equipment and we went for a ride up the highway. He immediately diagnosed the problem and fixed the issue himself once we got back to the shop. It took all of fifteen minutes and I was on my way. I was able to get back on the road to Seattle before most shops even open for the day. He was great! Highly recommend these guys..

They offer great service, are extremely accurate and treat everybody amazingly! I WOULD NOT take my cars anywhere else! They also are quick and dont try to tell you that you need work done that you dont really need. Great family business and ALL of the employees are polite and very knowledgeable!

They provided excellent and efficient service and priced justly. The guys working there are nice and friendly. My friends vehicle does not drive and they even arrange a tow from our residence to the shop, and the tow fee is modest (which I can claim from the insurance company later). Booking in advance is needed, so you can infer how popular this shop is. From my experience, I would say that this is one of the most competitive shops in the Pullman-Moscow area, which I definitely recommend.

Friendly service, even helped fix minor problems on the spot when needed vehicle. Seem a bit high on some estimates so be sure to communicate carefully what you need and pricing if seems off.

Dan and Bruce have both gone above and beyond. When I drop my car off for any kind of service, Bruce has always given me a ride to work and brought my car back to me. The shop is quick and the staff is honest. I have recommended them to many people and will continue to take my vehicles to them.

I have been going to Moscow Auto Service, primarily for body work and paint, almost exclusively for 5 years now. Bruce is wonderful to work with, as he is very knowledgeable, professional, and straightforward. I have never had a bad experience with the shop, and my cars have always come out looking great. One of my cars was recently involved in a hit and run, which was unfortunate because I had a car show I was supposed to be involved with yesterday (March 2nd). Fortunately, after dropping it off with Bruce on Tuesday (February 26th), I picked up the car fully repaired, and cleaned inside and out, the afternoon of Friday (March 1st), just in time to prep the car for the show. This was particularly incredible because the body shop is always, seemingly, booked solid for weeks. Bruce really saved me this last week, and I couldnt be more appreciative. Until I leave Moscow, I refuse to go to another body shop. I cant believe it took me this long to post a positive review, either. This one is long overdue.

Fantastic customer service - they looked into my problem, deemed it electrical, and pointed me in the direction of another specialist - all while I waited. The mechanics were kind, honest, and willing to help. The place I was recommended to even noted that Moscow Auto Services only refers things that were truly a problem over their head - now that is a sincere compliment from another auto mechanic! Cant recommend them more!

Our 2007 Subaru was having some issues starting- we had the battery tested, cleaned the terminals, and replaced one battery cable ourselves. The car died once again so we tried giving Moscow Auto another chance (after a bad experience a few years ago). We told him what had been happening, and that it may be the starter, possible fuel pump, or otherwise. They came and towed it, we got a call a few days later that the car was starting just fine and he had no issues. He messed with the other cable and told us it was ready to come pick up. We drove to Spokane for some errands, and sure enough our starter went out in a shopping center parking lot. We are now dealing with a tow truck, trying to find a mechanic here, and had to stay overnight. Moscow Auto chose to tow us from our home on a Sunday, which we told him we could wait until a weekday- the tow alone cost $125 for a 1.3 mile trip. He charged us $25 to wiggle the cables, and here we are dealing with the issue we told him was the problem in the first place. In a foreign city. With a second tow bill. With a hotel stay. And having to make a second trip back up to pick up the car when its fixed because we now have to find a way back to Moscow. Good times, Moscow Auto. Good, expensive times.

Moscow Auto Services - five starsThis is the only place I trust to work on my car in the area because they do a good job the first time. They are good at fixing dents, replacing lights, and finishing the job as well as leaving the work area cleaner than when they started. This is very important as other auto services are slimy, untrustworthy, uncouth, lying, destructive, and a thousand other words to describe how messed up they are and what they do to your car is unbelievable. So good job to Moscow Auto Services for not being completely corrupt like everywhere else. The staff is nice and honest. They are quick and professional at what they do. As long as they stay honest like they always have I will definitely recommend them to everyone.

Bruce and his whole staff were super friendly. We took our Rav 4 in with a broken window and were expecting to spend about $200 to get it fixed. When I called he made sure to have an accurate estimate for a couple of the problems it could have been. He said their diagnostic fee was $27 and to bring it on over. He said if we could figure it out today and if it needed new parts they could be overnighted from Portland. We dropped it off and Bruce called later saying a bolt had come loose and he just screwed it back in, and he would only charge me the $27 diagnostic fee. What a great, honest business! Well definitely be going back there. We even tried to tip them we were so happy, and they said dont worry about it. Highly recommended!

I won’t take my Truck anywhere else anymore. They have always charged a fair price and fixed the problem the first time. That’s so rare now days.

This is my first internet review I have ever written. This is not something I do nor feel the need to do. However, what I experienced in March-April of 2018 deserves commenting and reflecting upon as it relates to the service (or lack therof) that I received from Moscow Auto Service.My friend was involved in an accident with my car in early March (the 5th). He had driven it in a ditch on a gravel road going 30mph. Most of the damage was on the front passenger side. He had the car towed to Moscow Auto Service—and my initial impression was favorable. However, after a few days of my car being there and the non-responsiveness of Bruce via my phone calls, messages, and stopping into the shop to check-in, my attitude changed. Bruce continually referenced the difficulty working with insurance (I have StateFarm) on preparing an estimate. This went on for weeks. I am not exaggerating—weeks. I would call often to check in, met with no response or return calls. I would continually call StateFarm to see what their perspective was—continually they were waiting on Bruce to submit, or resubmit an estimate.I finally elected in the last week of March to relocate my car due to the fact that it had not been worked on at all, nor had a proper estimate been submitted or approved of—and there was no sign of work being done in the immediate future. I told Bruce about my decision, asking if there were any fees or issues that I would be penalized for by leaving his shop. He said there would not be any penalization.The next week StateFarm calls alerting me that Bruce had charged me a near $900 “Storage Fee” for my car. I was furious. Luckily I talked with my local StateFarm agent and the fee was reduced and inevitably covered by insurance. However, the practice and the principle of holding onto a car without doing any work and then charging the customer for a fee that in no way was reasonable (because nothing had been done) speaks volumes to the way Bruce conducts his business.I never felt like a priority with Moscow Auto Service—they gave me no reason to respect their work, customer service, or general business practices.---Lastly, I had my car towed from Moscow Auto Service to University Collision where Jesse was kind, prompt, and professional. My car arrived on April 1st/2nd and on April 3rd I had an approved estimate from Jesse and his shop. It took under 3 days for his shop to have an estimate submitted and approved. It took Bruce over 3-weeks and counting to not have anything to show for it. I got my car back on April 18th—nearly 5 weeks after the initial accident. The only reason for such a delay, difficulty, and frustration was due to my experience with Moscow Auto Service.---

They fixed the under carriage on my bronco and the fender flare on my girlss toyota. Both our vehicles came back to us clean. Thank you so much. Dan even stayed in my budget! He even went the extra mile and helped me fix a rattle in my hubs over the phone. Thank you both so much!

Worst experience Ive had in a long time with any mechanic. I think my axel is broke, I take it in for a diagnosis and come to find out it was a couple of screws...well fortunately, they already replaced the whole thing without my consultation. His response it happens.... What an idiot....it does not just happen. Your a cheap lying car mechanic and have an idea how to make a couple bucks off of ignorant college students.The piece was $50 online and they charged $200. Parts x1 Labor x3, unbelievable business practice. They will never see my business again.Unless this is a last resort...stay way!

I went there because I need flash coolant while I can still walk to work on Campus.Then after they called me its done, they charged 100.93$ for the service.63 dollars for flash coolant in labor cost and 34 dollars for the coolant itself and plus tax.I asked few ppl afterwards they told me that the price is outrageous. there are few shops can do it for 30$ for the labor and u can get the coolant from Reilly for less than 20$.Will never go there again.
