Be very careful before purchasing a used car from East Coast Honda, especially “as is”. I bought a minivan that had major cosmetic issues so I got a big discount, only to discover that the engine was completely sludged and needed to be replaced, which costs more than what the car was purchased for. They were so sympathetic that they offered to sell me another car at KBB value 😅 The sales rep admitted they mostly turn around trade-ins for sale without qualifying them, which means if the deal sounds too good to be true, it is; they are knowingly selling junk. If only there was a lemon law in S.C. for used cars…Buyer definitely beware.

The sales rep was excellent and very kind, not pushy at all. There was a huge lag from the time that we agreed to purchase until all the paperwork was done (all day, including me waiting in the showroom unattended for about an hour). Seems like it could be more efficient. One key fob was DOA upon receipt of the vehicle-major headache getting it replaced due to distance from dealership/childcare, etc. Sales manager and service representative did not respect schedule or time for an error that is the dealerships. However, the actual shopping experience was pleasant and no hard feelings to the sales rep.

Certified preowned vehicle was purchased, now certified means everything that needs to be fixed should have been fixed or replaced. Sad to see Honda lowered the standard. Vehicle that was purchased did not receive new tires and had a plug patch in the one tire. Family has owned many Honda vehicles and always had a great experience with east coast, until now. One employee said that oh its fine just because it has a patch and 4/32 tread depth doesnt mean its bad. Thats not the case, the tire still may be operable. However the case is it was certified preowned. Would be happy to sit down with someone.

Not sales department they get 5 stars. The services department is the absolute worst 3 1/2 hours later for a 1030 appointment for an oil change and alignment. My car was lost literally, after they found my car, they had lost the keys. I get in and I find the low tire pressure light on and service engine light on. Mind you, I have a flight out at Myrtle Beach at 230 which they were aware. Truly unbelievable.

I asked for a price online and was contacted by Juan. I told Juan exactly what I wanted for my car and he delivered. He is a kind and patient guy. He knew that I was coming from Charleston and made sure the buying process was fast. He was able to answer all my questions and if he did not have the answers he was able to get them. I originally made an appointment with a salesman named Ray at 5:30 PM. I arrived 15 minutes early and Ray had skipped out early and went home. Not only did Ray forget about our appointment but he didnt even remember my name when the dealership called him!! Needless to say, dont deal with Ray. Too bad for you Ray because you missed out on a sale. The sales manager promptly introduced me to a lovely and caring woman named Carol Bowen. She not only got me a discount on the exact vehicle I came to look at but she went above and beyond the call of duty! She treated me like a person, not just a potential sale and she was very friendly to say the least! Even after I signed all the paperwork completing the sale, Carol stayed with me through the whole transition process. She helped me move all my things from my old car to the new one. She even arranged it so I could use the vacuum to clean out my old car and let me store it there overnight until I could arrange to have the new owner come pick it up!! She didnt make a penny for all that extra help she gave me. Top of the line service there and the best car buying experience Ive had EVER!! Im 52 years old and have bought many cars so thats saying a lot! Its just too bad I dont like foreign cars. If they would have had a 2021 Dodge, I would have bought that instead of the awesome 2017 that I did buy!! If you go to East Coast Honda, ask for Carol Bowen or Wesley. Stay away from Ray!!

I am surprised with Hondas standards on certified used vehicles that it is acceptable to have tires on the vehicle that have plugged patches in them. I feel this is a safety factor. East Cost Honda has done nothing in this matter. I will not recommend purchasing from them.

My 2021 Honda Accord Hybrids A/C wasnt getting as cold as it normally does with only 3600 hundred Miles being on it.. Kendall in Service worked me in between the Appointments they had on Schedule on 6/30/21 around 2pm. He got it in Service area and had a Mechanic Check it out for he and come to find out it was almost a Pound low on freon.I really appreciate everything he did to get my Car in and got it taken care of for me!! He kept us informed and was extremely helpful in explaining what needed to be done and why.I do have one suggestion though in the seating area. Ports to hook your cell phone up while you are using it and to charge it. The battery port that is there does not have updated cables to fit the latest phones.
