Most Comic or video game buyers will try for the best price they can get when buying from a customer... I can say with confidence that the gentleman at Cloud 9 gave a fair price according to the market and with explanations as to why. In a visually attractive neighborhood area, this shop is not the only place to go, but a definite must go for sure. Lots of cool issues displayed and most for sale. Thanks Cloud 9

10/10! I’ve been to shows and shops all over the country and I had a wonderful experience. I am a huge Harley nut and I was pleasantly surprised to find a few books that I didn’t have. The manga section was ok. Their strength is definitely in their knowledge and large selection of back issues. Their online platform is top notch too! The owner is a gem and I look forward to stopping in next time I’m in town.

Just visited the shop for the first time. Owner Ken was informative and gracious. Terrific, if not epic, selection of current and collector item comics. The store is well arranged for browsing and at a great location at SE 26th and SE Clinton. A great find for Portland visitors and comics fans.

I went to this establishment with my kids, for my kids, we were super excited to be in a different part of town and at a comic shop. However, it kind of felt like we had wondered into a house with tons of awesome content but not a friendly neighborhood to ask questions or treat us with any sort of customer service etiquette. We were never greeted and thats a pet peeve of mine, I usually just leave a place who is unable to greet customers, yet that would have been devastating for my kids.We made our purchase and left, hopefully others have had better experiences that mine. Hopefully it wasnt because of my skin color, hopefully she was having a bad day and not just a bad employee.We wont be returning here.

Ken, the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. He recommended House of X a great new X-Men reboot and now Im hooked. He makes you feel welcomed, its my new comic book spot.

Came in first time, instantly was welcomed and helped by multiple people. Had a great Free Comic Book Day celebration and sale. I ended up not having enough for 1 of them and the sales rep gave it to me for free. Would definitely recommend and will come back. Old comics, new, they had both.

The most amazing customer service I have ever experienced. Moses did a phenomenal job explaining different comics and was so patient with me being naive, asking a lot of questions, and being a general noob. I came in to buy a first-comic for my nephew and he was so helpful with his recommendations and explanations. I will definitely be back for the few things I found for myself and encourage everyone to come in and look around and ask questions! I guarantee youll find something you like!

Lots & lots of comics! Old ones and new ones and inexpensive ones, $1 comics en masse as well as several slabbed comics, full sets and TPBs and probably more I failed to see. On top of that they offer a healthy discount for box customers, too! All of that is great but the VERY best part for me was dropping some coin on comics and she was adept AND willing to negotiate after I inquired if a discount could be applied if I were to spend a lot. So, to recap, I got to see many comics, have some fun, get a good deal, add to my collection, trade (like we did as kids!) and hopefully they made some money, too! Im definitely going back and you should NOT go until I get to buy all the comics I want first!

Ken and his staff are awesome, and I’m so glad they’re in the neighborhood. My daughter and I have been going to Cloud 9 since they opened, and as her tastes have shifted from young kids’ graphic novels to manga, she always finds something good. My Own collecting itch always gets scratched with high quality gold, silver, and bronze age comics, including the best selection of CGC graded comics in town. High score!!

Great place to find key Golden age books. They have tons of other stuff through the modern age, of course, but I believe this is the best store in town to find really old comics in really good shape. And that applies to later books as well, the grades are always quite high. This trickles down, too, to the dollar bin, where you can find gems that you would not normally find in dollar bins. I snagged some great Action and Superman in them from the bronze age. Its also a great store to simply chat about comic books. There are no condescending vibes about what youre interested in, and its always fun just to go in and dig through the bins. Finally, its a really clean, well-lit, and organized store.

A few years ago, I walked into Cloud 9 Comics and walked out a customer with a personalized subscription the same day! The owner, Ken Dyber, is extremely knowledgeable and has offered great selections when series Ive subscribed to have finished. When I was sent comics through the mail, Ken thoughtfully packaged the comics to safely travel. The store is well lit with natural light and comfortable to maneuver through. I look forward to when this place opens again to the public!

Ken and all of his employees are welcoming and kind. They treat comic novices to expert collectors like they all have the same dignity. I remember coming in and feeling like a stranger and how warm and kind they were to me right away. Ive been going to the store for years, and theyve always been incredibly welcoming and friendly to me. Theyve also been handling the COVID-19 situation extremely well--theyve been keeping their customers updated on what theyre doing, and all the measures theyre taking have been really good. This is just a really well-run shop and I like it a lot :)

Great little comic book store.

This has become my spot. Partly thats proximity, but its also that I dont feel the need to go to other spots as much. Theres always a good mix of old and new and the proprietor, Ken, really knows his stuff. And he doesnt try to sell me things I dont want.

My wife and I have been in a couple of times, and received great service from the employees and Ken, the owner. The stores organization is great, and bonus points for being clean. Weather you are an experienced comic collector, thinking of getting into the hobby, or just curious to learn a little bit more about the movies, Cloud 9 is a great place to to go.

I was so excited to visit Cloud 9 Comics. I am an avid comic book reader and supporter of local bookstores. Sadly, the customer service I received was rude, ill-informed, abrupt and judgmental. When I politely asked her if the store had any of The Invisibles series in stock. She condescendingly explained to me how comic book stores are alphabetized by title. After not finding what I was after she directed me to the Classic Story section which also proved to be fruitless. Without apologizes for misdirecting me she did finally find one book in the series on the shelf but didnt bother asking me if it was the one I was looking for, which unfortunately it wasnt. After settling on something else I moved to the cash register where I was informed I needed to move the book I was buying from the left side of the register to the right so she could easily reach? just to be rude? who knows? While I understand that everyone has their good and bad days, some treatment is just unacceptable and I honestly regret supporting a business that allows its employees to treat their customers so poorly. Next time Im on that side of the river, Ill go to Books with Pictures instead.

Extremely disappointed. Not a wide range of Batman comics and the ones they had were listed over double the high end of market value. When a comic is valued at between $5-$8 that doesnt mean mark it up to $15.Edit: since I cant reply to owner comments. Yes, Im sure I went to this store. Youre missing major gaps in runs and your modern Batmans are overpriced based off of any of the traditional guides.

A fantastic independent comic store. Cloud 9 is well organized, so it was easy to find what I wanted. The clear layout also helps the store pack a lot of great inventory into a small space, without feeling cramped. The staff is helpful and accessible. Highly recommended!

This is the comic shop for those valuable hard-to-find issues. They had all but one of the titles I was looking for. Service was friendly and helpful. Prices were a little high though.

Location is right on, the place is clean, sharp looking, good selection of old and new stuff, fun to look over everything, prices are within reason, they got cheap stuff for budget conscious also many coveted items for those who don’t mind spending more, very good service, knowledgeable, and best part is you can drive to that location and you’re right next to awesome coffee, awesome restaurants, and more local shops, you can make a day of it.
