So as everyone may know that is currently doing the U-Haul moving storage thing, there has been a huge crunch on availability at this time. However having failed to find a U-Haul anywhere else that had any availability for the things that I was looking for, we eventually arrived at the U-Haul center on Silverton road. They have a large selection mostly a 15 ft vans. But other things of multiple variety as well as I believe storage space available. However what I was looking for was a vehicle hauler, and those are in short supply it seems. The entire situation would have been a disaster had it not been for one dedicated employee Elias. Not only did this individual stick it through from the beginning from before noon at 10:00 am when we started the reservation at 2:00 p.m. when we returned to pick up our reservation on through the 2 hours it took to find out what happened to the reservation. In that situation someone forgot to carry the two.. this was not at all Eliass fault, he persisted to find the error look at solutions call alternate stores and work wonderful magic I wish to keep to myself and my wife. He met, exceeded and beyond expectations I have had for an individual in customer service for a while. He was so determined and dedicated he not only sacrificed his lunch time and lunch to see it through for us but he made it better in ways that would not be possible to explain. And also made it possible for me to move my wife all of our stuff my old 81 goldwing my 99 Jeep Cherokee all down 140 mi South to start our new life. Thank you ever so much Elias.

The store manager covers for the wrong doings of his employees and likes to twist things around regardless of how wrong his employees areEmployee claimed video surveillance cameras didn’t work and that they were there for show.Manager didn’t care what his employee said just over looked it and told me about the bits and pieces of footage he did have.I just all around wouldn’t recommend this location it’s just as bad as the part of town they are in.Employees gets physical (especially in the presence of a child) they over look itEmployees give false sense information they over look it.It’s just about money not customer care.Now I’m in the process to report them to someone higher in the chain of command .

Charged me 3.94 per gallon of gas to drive less than 10 miles in a van. That amounts to 5 miles per gallon in a van not truck. Then customer service says they really charged me $5.25 per gallon fo 1.5 gallons so i should be happy. Oh plus .87 cents per mile. I will never go uhaul again. Its a scam.

Beware of renting trucks from this location. They do not stand behind uhaul policies. Regardless of privately owned, they are still uhaul. They will charge what they want, scam you and make up their own policies. BBB will also becontacted.

AWFUL LOCATION! Curtis, the manager a married man, is having an affair with his employee Keilah. Do not go to this location and rent a Uhaul. SMDH if I could leave no stars I would.

Took car in today to get the hitch installed. The parts had to be delivered and it took 3 weeks longer than it should have.We finally get to take it in, appointment is at 11:30. Dont hear anything until 1:30 saying they are going to lunch and we can pick up our car and reschedule. We say no. We want it done. Dont hear back from them until they are closing around 7.We pick up the car and they installed the hitch, but decided to not install the ball or the mount and didnt even say anything to us and just deducted it from the final total.We paid for that for a reason. We need it. If you were too lazy to install it, just say so. You could have given it to us, since we did buy it, instead of refunding it to us.This location has such lazy, disrespectful workers. No decency for anyone except for themselves.

Great place! The staff are completely amazing!!!I have a storage unit there. I have had a series of unfortunate events and tge staff was always working with me and understanding. Sherry is the manager, she is absolutely the best person! I was hospitalized for 2 months and she worked with me and my family for access and payments

Forced to keep my drop off time at 9am so now I have to move super early in the morning before even uhaul is open

A female U-haul employee attacked my girlfriend for standing up to her because of the way she was talking to us in such a rude manner. Then told us we could never rent from U-haul again.

Just spoke with the supervisor and he was incredibly rude and sarcastic. Atrocious customer service. Please do yourself a favor, save yourself a headache, and go elsewhere. Previous manager (left about 6 months ago when he joined) was so wonderful. Its a shame that hes the face of this location now.

Customer service is amazing, they load everything into your car for you. IE; boxes, tape, furniture dollies, moving blankets, etc. You’re in and out within 15 minutes and renting a truck is easy!! We rented a 17ft truck in town and they were great about everything!!

Was in other day to rent a car dolly and was really happy with the service we got everything we needed real easy great customer service and thats hard to find thank you guys will definitely recommend and come back to this u haul

The team here know what theyre doing and are good at getting customers in and out in a reasonable amount of time. I appreciated that the manager emailed me my receipt to save me from a lengthier check out process. The parking lots feels a little cramped, but it is possible to move your vehicles with a multi-point turn.

All i wanted to know is the price of a vehicle being towed.If i could rate 0 stars i could. I had car issues and needed my car towed 40 miles from Oregon City to Keizer to my house. I called to see if they had anything in stock to tow a car and how much it cost. The lady on the phone asked what car needed to be towed and what car would be towing it and asking for all this unnecessary information personal information and was rude about it rather than just telling me on average how much it would cost to rent anything . They wanted to know the make, model,and owner of each vehicle of the person picking up my vehicle and other information as if i confirmed that I was going to buy the product. My fuel pump cramped out on me with my 3 year old daughter in the car and in stead of being given a price like everyone had told me to tow it, i was 1.Not told if there was anything on sight to tow my vehicle. 2. Not told the price of the item I was looking for. 3. Was asked for personal information when asked for the average cost of the item I asked for. This has been a place I go to when I move and will no longer be a place l I go to anymore It is not worth the headache going to this site.

Make sure if you change the pick up time that they change the drop off time. Never had this problem from the one on 12th street and it smells like pot/armpits?

I was able to set up my pick up easily online. The staff was friendly. I was able to pick up all my moving supplies and the truck at the same convenient location. Drop off was simple. Definitely would recommend.

I called on 7/25 to reserve a U-Haul for 48 hours. I went to pick up my truck and was told reservations cannot exceed 24 hours. The manager was extremely rude and told me, I cant help you. I asked him to review the call recorded over my reservation and he would not do so to verify I was confirmed for a 24 hour reservation. They asked my to stand aside and continued to help other customers. This location was the WORST service I have ever received and the manager simply did not care. I am now left without a truck to move my family into our new house by our deadline. Thanks for NOTHING U-Haul of Silverton RD in Salem, OR. I will NEVER use U-Haul again.

I am SO upset about this horrible place. When I moved out, the staff did not properly close out my account and they sent my mother a collection notice! I thought I was listing her as an emergency contact in case I had a medical emergency. I had no idea they would go after her for a $15 that isnt even valid! Also, the units are SUPER small and anything metal will be subject to corrosion. The galvanized metal floors will also tear up box bottoms if you slide them the wrong way - theyre not cement floors. The parking lot is ridiculously small and Ive been asked to move in the middle of loading more than once.

I just cant thank sherry enough for everything. By having an open line of communication she has worked with me when ive been late on my payments and very friendly. She is very easy to talk to even when I am not able to keep my end due to life. she makes it easier to call and keep communication than leaving me embarrassed or making me feel bad when life xan be hard enough. I APPRECIATE YOU UHAUL AND ESPECIALLY SHERRY !gives me a little more hope in humanity yet .

Apart from having very slow service they installed my brake controller on my truck wrong and took them more than 4 weeks to Fix it because no one in their staff had any knowledge on how to install one. I had it installed by the owner named Pepper and didn’t know what the hell he was doing.. DO NOT GET A HITCH OR BRAKE CONTROLLER INSTALLED BY THESE PEOPLE

They were very helpful, even when I was using cash and not a debit card (most places wont take a cash deposit). Almost everyone there was very friendly, aside from the lady who checked my truck back in (she was grumpy), but she had a small part in the total experience. I would recommend them. ALSO- HUGE selection of moving supplies and boxes that are cheaper than Lowes even.

7/21On 7/16 I had requested a 6x12 ramp tailer from the 12th St store online however, after getting to 12th St. I was told they did not have one and the request was moved to Silverton Rd. store. I found them to have friendly staff just very busy both on the phone and in person but thats the business.Was able to extend from 3 to 5 day over the phone with no problems. The drop off was busy but very fast.Thank you!Update 7/22I found the return system charged me and extra day. Call the store and the automated system transfers to that national UHaul cutomer help center where it was not great fun dealing with them but was not real bad. They took my info and created a help ticket that the was sent to the Silverton Rd store.My suggestion to any user needing to speak directly to the store you rented (from refunds, extractions or return question etc) just be patient and call the store later. Work with them directly is easier, just be patent.I got a call about 30hrs later from Shirley, very friendly and apologetic for the overcharge. Immediately offering the refund no explanations needed and she complete understood the situation quick and courteous resolve it.Thank you Silverton Rd UHaul great work!

Wow. Super fast service. Ive been using Uhaul for years and waiting to get your truck or to return can be a pain, especially when youre tired from moving or have dead lines. This place got me in and out and back in quickly. Also clean, friendly staff and easy parking lot to maneuver through.

They never answer the phone. Last time I got a truck there I told them Im going 50 some miles and they had less then a 1/8 tank of gas in the truck. I said some thing and I was told do to people ciphering gas they keep the trucks low on fuel.U-Haul 1800# sucks big time they will totally mess your move up, you will have a wrong location to pick up and drop off and you probably will get the wrong size truck, thats how incompetent they are.I wouldnt recommend.

I reserved a tow dolly over the phone (it doesnt go directly to the store), and when it was double booked (not the fault of the people here) they fixed it. I got a trailer that worked for what I needed, and discounted so it didnt cost extra.
