I have had nothing but a great experience at chapman volkswagen. roland in sales was great over a year ago when i bought my car and still is super friendly when i bring my car in! the two mikes that work in service are amazing - they had my car fixed within 2 days of it being at the shop when it had multiple repairs that needed to be done. everyone is extremely friendly and i cannot recommend this dealership enough!!

Chapman Volkswagen Scottsdale is a very nice, clean, and modern dealership. I brought my 2015 Jetta in for a service. I worked with Ty. He is a great service advisor. I was also very pleased with the mechanics and their work. Overall I was very satisfied with the entire experience. My experience at Chapman Volkswagen was great! I found the car I wanted online. Roland Ugho was the salesperson that assisted me. He explained all the ins and outs of the vehicle. I have never owned a Volkswagen before. He was great! Very thoughtful and helpful! I would definitely buy another car from him. This dealership overall was good too very quick with the whole process. They agreed to a price before I came in and discounted it even more so I could get added features without making my payment skyrocket. They were no hassle, no haggling, and very helpful. Oh the finance guy was great too and very funny! I’d recommend this dealership to everyone!

Do not do business here. Volkswagen dealerships will do absolutely nothing when it comes to good customer service. They werent ready even though I had an appointment and had been communicating with John Stanley. Luckily, the young sales guy helped out as much as he possible could until the finance part came. What do you think they did? Yes, you are correct, they lowballed me for half the value of my car because the battery is dead. Check out my other review when it comes to the service the Volkswagen in Gilbert gave me. My car lasted two weeks with a warranty battery. Its sat ever since. THEY WILL NOT HELP YOU DONT GO HERE. One old guy even told me AT THIS CHAPMAN VOLKSWAGEN, to leave when I was trying to buy a Honda Civic hatchback with cash!!! Nice work. I have been around customer service and retail for 9+ years now and this was a sad experience.

I had the worst experience coming here, I met with Lester and had no interest in selling a vehicle to us. Day 1 we called in to check if the vehicle was available, he said yes, when we reach there, he said you cannot test drive it because it has to be detailed (then why ask us to come)?. Day 2, had to wait for almost 45 min in the lounge, the vehicle had body sounds and everything, that is understandable, but when asked about the vehicle he said, you are not the first one, you will not be the last, and he does not know about cars I do not know how one sells cars without knowing anything about them. overall my experience was terrible, I saw the good reviews and went there, later regretted my experience and also suggested that my friends dont go there.

I have a very old vw beetle convertible a 2004 and I was so in awe when I received such kindness, professionalism. I was shocked that they actually got me an uber because I didnt have a ride to or from there. I was blown away by that. Mike the manager is just a great down to earth and friendly person I was so thankful. It is costly to keep up maitenence with older vw beetles but it had to be done. But if your going to get it fixed and feel like your royalty go here! lol seriously I have not had excellent customer service in a long time and it was so appreciated! Thank you MIke! I might just buy a new vw at your lot!

Been a loyal service customer here for over 7 years and I wont go back. Two weeks ago I scheduled an appointment to have my vehicle looked at and was told someone would reach out prior to my appointment to confirm if I could or could not get a loaner vehicle. No one called. I showed up for my appointment yesterday and there were no loaners. Fine, I was happy to reschedule however it would have been nice if someone called in advance and saved me the trip. The service advisor said to text him that afternoon to confirm if he could find a loaner vehicle. He did not respond. I called this morning and spoke to someone in the scheduling dept and was told I could reschedule for two weeks out. She also said someone would call me to confirm a loaner vehicle... Sensing a pattern I expressed my concern that I felt there was a lack of communication and my frustration on waiting on additional two weeks. The rep was condescending and rude. I have worked in service drives myself; I know that loaner vehicle supply is limited, my concern is communication. Yall failed.Edit After Dealership Response: I mentioned above that I have experience working in service drives and am well aware that loaner vehicles cant be guaranteed and that you offer shuttle/rideshare services. You dont need to explain that to me. My issue is the rudeness of the person I spoke to this morning when expressing my concern that that no one had communicated with me multiple times already. Every business on earth is having staffing issues right now, slower than expected communication is one thing. No communication at all and rude BDC reps is another thing entirely.

James Lovering from service was great in communication. He explained what maintenance needed and when. He also kept me informed about the progress of the work and called me back for questions I had. Received very poor warranty service from service advisor Kristina A. for our 2 year old VW. Poor communication and mediocre attention to detail regarding addressing / fixing complaints w/ cars ongoing performance issues. Service advisor James was more helpful & engaged but since technician couldnt replicate issue (again) they refused to troubleshoot anything. Level of service received overall was below expectations / Wouldnt recommend esp if for warranty service.

I brought in my VW Jetta to get serviced at this location, but I had an absolutely terrible experience with the service agents. I was assigned to someone by the name of James and was left so in the dark about the status of my vehicle. I tried calling the service number about 5-6 times to get updates, but it would go straight to the agents voicemail. If I tried texting, it would be a similar story: waiting 4-5 hours just to get a response. Even after my vehicle was ready for pick-up, James notified me one hour before closing time after me repeatedly calling/texting to inquire, which gave me no time to organize a ride to pick up my vehicle in time. The day I picked up my car, there was no acknowledgement or apology on James part for this his terrible communication skills. I appreciated the service, but the communication here is awful. I will no longer be taking my vehicle to this location to get serviced.

If you are going to leverage True Car as a service to make a purchase offer...you should at least be close to the certified offer you agreed to via email. The offer of ~$6K less than the certified offer was a waste of my time:Certified Offer = $41,725In person Offer = $36K...really?!Just be more accurate...dont waste peoples time. CarMax offered $40K, and I walked out with a check for $40K.Do not trust Certified Offers through True Car that Chapman in Scottsdale accepts and contacts you about. Go to CarMax in Scottsdale instead. They have integrity in their process, and it was a way better experience.

We came to this dealer per suggestion of the salesperson who sold my mom her BMW in the same area. I initially test drove a base Tiguan back in 2018, but wasnt ready to fully commit to purchasing another vehicle. Well, time came and went and two years later I was ready to purchase.I knew which model and trim I wanted, so in we went and we were directed to speak with Leslie Horne. She was very polite and knowledgeable, and since I knew which trim I wanted (had the features I was looking for) she was very quick to get the keys for us to test drive. When we were outside, she explained many of the features and buttons the car had (heated seats/steering wheel) and told us to come back when we were ready. I loved that she went through the settings for us. She was extremely patient and knowledgeable! In the end we were able to come to an agreeable price which she helped us achieve.Brian Holzner did our finance paperwork and he was absolutely wonderful/polite as well. When we were in finance Leslie had the Tiguan detailed and filled it up with a full tank of gas.I would recommend coming in and talking to Leslie when you are ready to purchase your next vehicle :)

I bought my 2020 Atlas Volkswagen cross sports back in May 2020. When I purchased the vehicle they told me the vehicle came with tinted windows. I go to get my vehicle service today and find out that only the front windows were tinted when I was told all the windows would be tinted. I am not pleased with the fact that privacy tint comes from the manufacturer not from the dealership and that they told me the back windows are tinted from what I paid for but they are not tinted. If you plan on buying a vehicle there you better make sure that they do what they say they’re going to do. I had a great experience with them but this does not make me happy.

About 3 weeks ago husband & I were shopping for a second vehicle. Although it would not be a new car purchase it’s mileage, age, price & condition mattered to us. We test drove a number of vehicles from various sellers and narrowed the contenders to two. The deciding factor was the Chapman dealership. Happily we drove our purchase home on a Tuesday. But two days later, disaster stuck (or so it seemed). The vehicle lost power, the engine light came on, and it barely limped us the five miles home. Our hearts sunk. Immediately we phoned our salesman Todd fearing the worst. To our amazement, Todd (and Melissa in customer service) took over. Within 2 hours, a tow truck was picking up the SUV, and a loaner vehicle was waiting for us. Through the next few days the mechanics kept us apprised of their progress. We have the SUV back again; it runs beautifully. Most impressive to us is that this dealership stood behind their sale and made this situation right! The service department is a total rip off scam. Do not use them. They try and scare you into getting new tires and brakes and service you dont need. Took my car to another break place and they said the breaks were fine. Dealer said the nail in my tire wasnt fixable and I needed 4 new tires, took the car to Sams Club who fixed the nail and said the other tires were completely fine. Seriously 😳 Chapman is a Scam!!

Recently bought a Honda Pilot used from here. I was negotiating the price and was counter offered. I was told if I bought the vehicle for dealership asking price the accessories fee(which included nitrogen air, window tint, and door guard) would be waived and I would still have warranty on those items(the only reason why I even agreed to purchase for dealership price). The actual day I come in to sign paperwork and pick up my car they mention to me AFTER that it was only the window tint that was applied and I would have to pay for the other accessories. I asked if I could receive the other accessories with it since that’s what I was told and the salesman says yea I’ll have someone call you Monday. Monday comes along and no one has contacted me. If I was promised something I shouldn’t be the one going out of my way to call and remind you especially if I was just sold the car 2 days prior. I am current military and I am stationed in Arizona for a year/first time buyer so I didn’t even want the accessories since it can only be done at Chapman locations. Just truly disappointed that I was promised something and y’all did not follow through with it. If I knew that the things I was told wasn’t going to be applied when I purchased it I would have walked away that first night I came in.

**Update** 1star to 2 starVW Chapman did honor the oil change which I very much appreciate and commend them for hats off, but I did have issue with the visit. while getting my oil changed I also opted in for a brake flush and a transmission flush and the car wash. At 1:00PM between 4pm and 5pm for my car to be done, no problem got a ride from VW home, messaged a eta at 4:41PM after a update and told all engine cooled off and wash should be done around 5:15-5:30PM, no problem, 5:30 PM rolls around no update message again at 5:39PM no answer. message again at 6:05 PM the service department just closed and still no answer. call the location and the service department is gone and they do not have my keys at the reception for pick up. They had to search around to find my car and paper work, luckily someone was there that could run my card so I could get my vehicle. When I asked about a ride over there since you were the ones who gave me a ride in the morning I was informed that they could not do it after 6PM, so I had to order my own ride over to the dealership. Not the best experience made for a very bad time worried if I would have transportation the rest of the evening.

She kept me updated by phone on the progress of my service, and even offered a loaner since my Tiguan is my only vehicle. My wife scheduled service with this dealership after using San Tan VW for close to a decade. The simple oil change took close to an hour longer than normal, and the list of services they recommended was astounding.While the service department had no issue quoting my wife nearly $2000 in repairs, they could not be bothered to clean the oil that was spilled on the air box while filling the vehicle.(The photo is of the vehicle after we got it home). It was clear that they did not actually inspect the engine, as their quote said the air filter was dirty, but there were no signs they actually opened or inspected the filter. My wife was more educated than the service writer on the $1000 dollar job that they identified as an issue.We are expecting our first in January and the employees at this location were not taking covid precautions seriously. This is a big concern, especially for such forward facing employees in one of the hottest covid zip codes in the state. After this experience we will drive out of our way 45 minutes to use a more reputable dealership for service.

We made an appointment to test drive the vehicle at 4:30pm. We arrived, test drove, negotiated on price, had all paperwork done, car detailed and filled with gas and out the door in 2 hours! Our sales rep, Courtney, was awesome and the finance guy was super efficient. We had an all-around great experience. Found a car on line. Did everything via email, was told a “SOLD” sign was placed on car for us. Then the salesperson we were dealing with stated that another salesperson sold the car. The only explanation we got was “That’s how the car business goes.” Can you believe that. I am a FF. Disappointing recent experience. The relationship element in business is important, regardless of my immediate utility as a financially fruitful customer.Am a current lessee with Chapman. As lease is expiring later this year, came in to test a couple updated VW models for reference and future consideration.Established a good rapport with the sales rep in the moment. Got a follow-up quote on a new Jetta a couple days later, which I eventually declined.Sadly, follow-up communications from the sales rep were 1. unceremonious when I requested a quote and 2. silent when I declined.Would be nice after establishing a friendly connection and closing the current episode if I would receive a simple, Thank you for your time, it was a pleasure serving, and let me know if I can be of help in the future.Will be doing business with a more relationship-minded dealer for my next vehicle.

I purchased a used CPO 2017 VW Passat SEL Premium from Chapman VW Scottsdale a few weeks ago. I must say that the sales experience was very smooth and pleasant. Todd Wineberg was our salesman. He was not pushy. He listened to our concerns and addressed them accordingly. Finance did a great job explaining everything from the finance rates to the extended warranty to the monthly payment. Refreshingly, no surprises there. Scottsdale is a little out of the way from Chandler, but it was worth the drive as they know that I can choose other VW dealers much closer to me. I would purchase from them again in a heartbeat.

Today I was helped by Courtney on finding a nice starter vehicle for my niece. We liked the car so much that I ended up purchasing one for myself! Courtney was very kind. She answered all of my questions and concerns and made the shopping process easy. This is a nice dealership. However, almost no one was following the guidelines of the county or the company about wearing masks or social distancing. The salesperson I was working with had his mask below his chin almost the entire time. Most of the other sale people and managers were not wearing masks. Unfortunately due to this, I cannot buy a vehicle from this dealership or any other Chapman dealership. It seems as though they are not taking this pandemic seriously, and not respecting the health of their customers.

Nice folks, great buying experience...dealership needs better attention to details. I purchased a brand-new 2017 Jetta GLI and took delivery on a Friday. Since they didnt have the GLI white automatic I wanted, they got the vehicle from Camelback VW. I took the vehicle home and saw the car had 400+ miles on the odometer. I immediately called my salesman Josh, who then notified the Sales Manager Andy. Apparently no one at the dealership looked at the odometer when they took delivery of the vehicle. Andy called and after some discussions he said hed have a replacement vehicle the next day (I had to take the car in before they could get another replacement from Camelback VW). Went in the next day, handed over the car and Andy provided me with a rental for a few hours while they secured a replacement. In about 3 hours they called and I headed to the dealership. I had to wait approximately 2 hours before my paperwork was redone (with new VIN#, etc) so I could be on my way. As I was leaving I noticed there was no owners manual so he retrieved one from another vehicle. On my way home I tried the Nav but saw a message stating the Nav SD card was missing. I asked for it to be mailed to my home but 3 days later I happened to be a few miles away from the dealership so stopped by and picked it up (also taken from another vehicle). The dealership could do well by making sure their new car prep (Service?) department reviews a checklist to make sure the vehicle and all inventory is in place when the keys are handed to the customer. Other than the 3 trips to the dealership I made, (45 minutes each way from my home to the dealership), Andy (Sales Manager) and Josh (Sales) were very easy and pleasant to work with. At no time did I feel pressurized into doing the deal. This was the fourth VW dealership I communicated with before purchasing my vehicle. After doing the deal, salesmen from the other dealerships continued to text me asking if they could earn my business. When I told them what my deal was, they all agreed it was an excellent deal. Sadly, none of them wanted to go the extra mile to earn my business like Andy and Josh. It went to Chapman and am happy for it. If it werent for the missing items and the additional trips to the dealership, I would have given Chapman VW 5 stars. Once they move to their brand-new dealership it should improve the overall buying experience as well.

Don’t waste your time with other dealerships go here first, we wish we had! Our sales person Lauren was fantastic. We called ahead and let her know we wanted to be quick and she made sure everything went as fast as possible. We had everything said and done in probably 2 hours. They also got our payments and APR way lower than any other dealership we had dealt with. Even finance was a breeze at the end. I can’t say enough good things about this place and their staff just go here first, seriously.

Tomorrow will be two weeks since my appointment with Chapman vw to get insight on replacing my transmission. Despite multiple calls to follow-up on a quote promised to me on the parts, i have been unable to get ahold of my service representative. Unfortunate and frustrating. I was hoping for a better outcome from a dealership.

I bought a used vehicle from here yesterday and had a WONDERFUL experience. I worked with Bethanne in the finance department for my paperwork and it not once did I feel I was being Sold to. We had great conversations and she made the process painless.Anthony ( From Jeep Dodge Chapman) helped me find the vehicle, even though it was not his exact dealership. He was soooo easy to work with and I was never pressured. He was not the typical sales guy you think of when buying a car and he was very easy going. He even came in on his day off when it was time for us to finish up paperwork.I highly recommend seeing Anthony if you are purchasing a vehicle at Chapman in Scottsdale and hope you get to work with Bethanne if you purchase from Volkswagen.

Update: 1 year after purchasing the vehicle Im here to update my review. I have had two disappointing service visits. Both times as I was describing issues the service attendant was coming up with excuses of why they wouldnt fix the issue before he understood what they were. Both times I have asked them to look at a particular tire with a pressure warning. Both times they tell me it was a calibration issue, I leave without the warning on and within five miles it comes back on. I dont know if Im driving around in an unsafe vehicle now and that is a scary thought.The second major ding I consider fraud and theft. In the price negotiations I was strong armed into buying a security protection package to get the overall price I wanted out the door. This package was $229. One year after owning the vehicle I receive a call asking when I wanted to come and get the service activated. They never activated the service and kept all the money. All buyers at this facility should be aware of this tactic they are attempting.After a very unpleasant experience at Camelback VW I went to Chapman VW and was thrilled with the sales process. Roland was extremely professional and responsive to my emails and questions in person. I wanted a specific color and Roland was able to find one in Tucson and had it available for me to pick up the next day. I feel I got great pricing with no sales haggling or back and forth negotiating. By far my easiest and best car buying experience I have gone through. Very happy with my new Jetta GLI!

Didnt buy a car here due to the sleazy sales practices. Charging $1000 on a used car for... oil change, inspection and whatever other made up things they feel like. The price of the car, minus tax, tags, etc..., should be the price of the car. NOT, the car is $13,000, add mandatory $1,000 for stuff that has to be done anyway, lets add a LoJack type system thats not needed... and so forth... and then lets add tax, admin fees and so forth. That nice $13,000 car, after negotiations, is costing you around $16,000 for all the tacked on charges.

Let me just start off at I lost my car due to unforeseen circumstances and I was absolutely devastated. I spent three days down and out in the gutter when I finally got myself together and reminded myself you can always do anything you put your mind to, and a car is always replaceable. My credit was not too shabby and I was beginning to lose hope that Id have a second chance of having a car and/or that such a reputable dealership, like Chapman, would even consider granting me a loan especially after local dealerships in the area telling me that Ill never get financing. I was so discouraged, but I put all my negative energy aside, grabbed on tight to my faith and went to Chapmans website to begin browsing at used cars. The minute I saw cars in impeccable condition under $10,000, is the moment I knew I would be able to get back into something again that has undergone inspections and is not just going to be a lemon out on a random car lot. I messaged a chat agent on the website and told him my situation, and he was so understanding of my concerns and needs. From the jump, I felt comfortable and he put me in touch with Leslie H. who reached out to me about 5 minutes later to assure me with her positive language that somehow someway, we were going to get me in the car that was affordable to me and that would be something their internal finance department would be able to help assist me with. I was so excited that I didnt even wait for Leslies call, I was already in my UBER on the way over. Before she could even finish the voicemail, I was already inside shaking her hand hello LOL. Leslie made me feel so comfortable from the start and was extremely honest and thorough throughout explaining the loan process to me. HOWEVER, this will only work if you are honest and nothing but HONEST with her first! Answer her questions truthfully, and she will work as hard as she can to get you into a car that you deserve. Leslie is a believer, and believers are what make the world a better place. I am so thankful for Leslie and the entire Chapman team; including a special shout out to the finance department that worked so patiently with me in a poised manner that Ive never received from any other car dealership out there. I was one-overed by BMW that I had been loyal to for 15 years and 5 different cars and that is when I decided it was time for me to make a change; Chapman takes pride in their clients and again, I couldt thank this team enough for all they did for me, and for Leslie to be the glue that held my life together when I didnt even have a car to get to work. Going to Chapman in Scottsdale was probably the best decision I ever made and this was THE BEST experience Ive ever had at a car dealership. I didnt feel pressured and I got the best deal on the car and im very happy with my purchase. Anh was awesome! And Brian Laasch the finance manager was incredible and was most concerned with my best interest and was so much help. I will for sure go back to this dealership in the future.
