Fantastic visit for my first time visit! Amazing customer service by Gina, she helped me pick out a great set of frames, being patient and helpful when I couldn’t choose . Benton was super friendly and provided great service and Dr. was great and explained everything as we went thru the exam. Great professional team who are friendly and knowledgeable!

Words cannot explain the gratitude I feel for Dr. Russell. My 5 year old had pink eye and his pediatrician misdiagnosed what type it was twice. They recommended I see Dr. Russell. My sons eye was so sensitive and it was hard to get him to open his eye. Dr. Russell got the correct diagnosis and prescribed these magical inexpensive drops and by the next day it was better. Watching my son in pain for days before visiting Dr. Russell was tough but I’m so glad we went to a wonderful specialist who fixed the problem immediately. I’m so grateful to Dr. Russell and his wonderful staff. I highly recommend this place. HIGHLY. Wonderful doctor, just wonderful.

My toddlers basically destroyed my glasses! The team at Tampa Eye Vision Center was amazing! Especially Tami she was able to fix them, she was fast and courteous. I will definitely go back there to purchase glasses in the future.

I had a wonderful professional experience with Dr. Clarence Russell yesterday and getting my vision checked. The receptionist Betsy was extremely nice and went out of her way to accommodate me and was very professional. I would recommend this South Tampa eye clinic to anyone.

I cannot recall any other Eye Doctor caring for my eyes the way Dr. Russell did. Benton was awesome and Tami was all sorts of fabulous and super funny. She picked out the perfect frames for me and made sure I understand everything about my insurance. AMAZING!!!!!!

I have been in several times. Dr. Russell provided an eye exam, he was thoughtful and asked great questions. Tami (cant say enough about her) knows her stuff. With one call she was able to get me a replacement temple for my existing glasses when two other local eye centers were unsuccessful. She convinced me to stay with the frame brand and purchase another pair. Had a blast getting glasses...is that even possible!

This place has a small town clinic feel while having access to all that comes with being part of a larger system. Every member of the staff was fantastic on this, my first visit. They have COVID procedures in place that made me feel like they were taking things seriously (masks, temp checks, cleaning rooms between each patient, etc). I felt like the doctor truly listened to my concerns and provided helpful suggestions. I am glad to have found my new eye doc!

Tami assisted me today in picking out and purchasing new frames and sunglasses for my prescription from Dr. Russell, who is the most thorough eye doctor I have been to.The South Tampa Eye Clinic continues to impress me. Their team is so easy to work with. They are kind and caring. Benton is always a pleasure. Tami is an expert optician of 35 years(her father before her was also an optician). Her demeanor and patience were a true gift to me this morning after my old frames broke. Her understanding of my facial shape and style inclinations eased all my worries about finding glasses that would look good on my face while fitting my budget. Tamis expertise turned what could have been an anxiety producing shopping experience (choices are so numerous) into a fun exploration of looks for me!

Always friendly, always helpful. Had an issue with my eyeglass frames and Tami went above and beyond to get the defect resolved with the frame rep. And they were repaired very quickly so I was not without my eyes for very long at all! Way to go Tami!

Id like to provide this review of the Tampa Eye Vision Center - South Tampa so everyone knows! Yesterday I called for an appointment and I was helped by Tami. She patiently asked me a series of questions about my eye and explained that Dr. Russell could see me this morning. She made sure I chose the right location (versus the MLK location) and the right doctor. Today at my appointment, Tami, Benton, and Dr. Russell were extremely professional and very knowledgeable. They allayed all my fears about the pain in my eye. I immediately felt that I was in great hands! I will definitely come back to this location because of the professional and friendly service! I was the last customer of the day. Usually by end of day people are exhausted and the experience feels like everyone is on airplane mode but, I didn’t feel that way here. Dr. Russell was ultra kind and patient with me during the eye exam. Benton was very sweet and informative. Tami was funny and did an amazing job finding the right pair of glasses for whatever YOU like. Would definitely recommend all my friends come here 👌🏾

So glad I chose this place. Everyone, was not only professional but also very friendly. From the moment I walked in they explained every step and were very patient with me, as I always ask lots of questions.Gina was fantastic in helping me find, choose and fit my glasses just right. To often I have been sold, at other places, glass frames that were actually too narrow (just to make a sale).They even took the time to advise me about different optical insurances available to aid me with the cost(s).

This is a lovely clinic, very professional and efficient. The entire staff was extremely kind and thoughtful. I can’t wait to get my glasses!

DO NOT GO TO THIS CLINIC! If you want wrong diagnoses, consistent issues with the billing, and overly charged cheap glasses this is the place for it. I went to this clinic in January and later got referred to a specialist because the doctor thought I had a hole in my eye which I don’t. The problems continued afterward when I received several letters in the mail for bill charges that I needed to pay, even though I paid $200+ bill the day of the visit and was told everything is paid in full. In addition, the 3+ letter sent had different dues because the technicians and billers kept messing up the amount due. So now 2 months later, I can’t return the glasses and expect more money to pay for the exam and glasses (they aren’t even brand name), totaling at $300+ WITH insurance. I have worn glasses all my life and NEVER have I paid this much amount of money for an exam and glasses, or had this much trouble dealing with the staff. Staff is rude and lazy

The doctor is very nice but the people working at the front desk are snarky and unhelpful. Be prepared to spend a lot of money because they will try to push every possible upcharge!

Everyone was so friendly, professional and efficient. They made both my initial appointment and follow up appointment very quickly and the facility was super clean for both visits. My coworkers recommended this place to me and I am so glad that they did.

Terrible prices, refuse to provide full prescription. Charged $455.20 for one pair of glasses, in addition to the $174 eye exam. Did not give any prescription when finished exam, only provided prescription when demanded on pickup of glasses, and then refused to provide PD (pupil distance) so as to try to prevent using the prescription with online store for much better prices. My last online order for good metal frames, lenses, and best coatings was less than $100.

Everyone at the Tampa Eye Clinic at the South Tampa location is AMAZING! Never been here before but was pleasantly greeted by the staff, both by Tami and Brenton. Both employees were very welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. Dr. Russell was professional and very detailed and clear in explaining matters to me. The clinic is very clean and very organized. They were taking all the COVID precautions to protect patients. Everyone was wearing masks and social distancing and the rules were enforced when people didnt comply. They checked temperatures at the door and screened in parking lot. Excellent experience! Plenty of brand name frames to choose from. I will definitely be returning and I highly recommend this place.

Tampa Bay has ENDLESS choices for your eye care needs, but Tampa Eye Vision Center of South Tampa is THE BEST! Tami, the Optical Specialist is fun and is easy to work with, Benton is a gentle personality and a GREAT listener and Dr. Russell is AMAZING!! He clearly has a passion for eye health and the science of eyes. He took his time with me and made me feel very comfortable with my new lenses. They also screen every one entering the shop, seat clients 6 feet a part, are masked, use gloves and hand sanitizer is available, again making all of us feel comfortable and well taken care of-AWESOME TEAM!!

From the moment I walked in to look for two new pairs of glasses - one with prescription sun glasses - I found everything absolutely wonderful. The associate, Tami, spent time with me, helped me make decisions about style and cost. Less than a week later, the glasses were ready and I was 100% pleased. Prescription was perfect and the fit was great. Excellent customer service.

Dr Russell is Awesome, Amazing, and Wonderful... Staff are all wonderful and pleasant and office is very clean ((I LOVE THIS PLACE))I had transplants done few years back, as time past my vision started going again. I accidentally contact Tampa Eye Clinic just to confirm my insurance with Eyemed (I think it’s called) was active. I confirmed and made appointment not knowing what an amazing Dr I was about to see. Dr Russell took his time with exams and once confirmed I can no longer wear glasses, he introduced me to the contacts world and walked me thru the process. Thank God my insurance covered everything with 0 out of pocket expense. Took few weeks to adjust to my eyes but I see 100% now OMGGG IT FEELS SO GOOD TO BE ABLE TO SEE. I would strongly recommend Dr Russell he is Da MAN lol.

Really enjoyed my first visit to Tampa Eye Vision Center on S. Dale Mabry. I have been a patient of Tampa Eye Clinic for years and my experience at the new location was A+. Its a more personal experience rather than the huge wait at the crowded (very busy) MLK location. The South Tampa location staff members were very pleasant, friendly and efficient.
