Melannie and Jennifer were so incredibly helpful to me today and I cannot be more appreciative. I snapped my glasses last night and my back up pair were missing their nose pads and were super uncomfortable. I called in a bit of a panic because I’m leaving town on Saturday and wasn’t sure how soon they could see me, they had me come right in!They couldn’t fix my snapped pair but they put new nose pads on my backup pair and cleaned them for me, they feel like new!Jennifer was thoughtful enough to schedule me for a follow up with the doctor to consider contacts as an additional back up.WALMART COULD NEVER!!Thanks ladies 🎉

The staff at this location are always nice and helpful but they send the glasses out of state to make and have taken the full two weeks to come back. Ive had to have both my glasses and sunglasses re-done, so would recommend planning in advance!

I have been here several times with my family. Atmosphere is always friendly. Staff and doctor are knowledgeable and courteous! Appointments come first and timely. I have nothing but positive thoughts with this location!!

Dr was super nice and professional. Sales clerk howecer didnt just try and upsell me, she made it seem like I had to get the expensive lenses. Upon questioning she revealed that I was able to get the lenses my insurance overed almost all of. Refused to give me my pupil distance to try and make it harder for me to get afford glasses online. Just not very pleasant to experience overall.

Terrible experience. DO NOT COME HERE! I would give you a 0 if theres an option.

I recently went to Target to have my eye exam and get new glasses. I was very hesitant at first, but I went and Dr. Ocasio was amazing. He was very patient and answered all my questions. Omar, was also extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend this optical!!!

I went for my contact lenses exam in October. I called every week to find out if they had arrived. The manager was a snot and told me the doctor would call me. By December NOTHING - one of the people working in the eye glasses area told me that my lenses were lost and they would call me. I was leaving for a work detail and figured they would contact me. Here we are after Covid where everything got crazy and STILL NOTHING. So I paid $170 for an exam with absolutely nothing but the run around. I’ve called since my return from detail since May 15th. It’s June 17th. I needed the contacts or prescription to see. It wasn’t for fashion. This is a crooked doctor who didn’t return ANY calls. DO NOT GO HERE.

This place seems to have gone downhill over the last 6 months or so according to the reviews. Here’s my recent experience from August 2018:Please save yourself a huge let down in customer service and go to Pearle Vision instead. The lady who usually works here is constantly on the phone and they’re all like used car salespeople. Worst of all there’s only one doctor and she’s often gone on leave because she’s pregnant.Out of the 3 times I was there-by confirmed appointment- when she was actually in, first time I waited just over an hour to be seen, second time I was there for 50 minutes and left out of frustration, third time I waited for about 75 minutes again just to be seen for a follow up on a new prescription. Let me reiterate that I had confirmed appointments! No excuse for the over scheduling. If you are that desperate for patient revenue, get another doctor to help you or find another practice to work at. Don’t take it out on your clientele by making them all wait excessive amounts of time.Lastly the frames sales staff are all about the pressure. “Oh your insurance covers it! And we give you a discount on the rest so it will end up SAVING you money if you spend $500 on frames, lenses, add-ons, and the protection plan.”

Really quite bad.I am currently in the office waiting - my appointment was for 1:45pm. I was told to arrive 15 minutes early which I did. It is now 2:10 and I am still waiting. I expect I will be for another 30 minutes.I just thought that when I scheduled an appointment time that they would understand that I meant the time we discussed, agreed upon, and saved in our books. I was under the impression these people had a semblance of professionalism and common sense, yet here I am waiting for people who Leonidas wouldve thrown off the cliff at birth.1/5 stars, would recommend to idiots.

Omar and Jessica are awesome! They make you feel welcome and they pay great attention to all your needs, excellent and profesional people. Omar’s speaks a little Spanish that increase the value of the service.

The appointment started out well Omar was super helpful and provided excellent customer service. Then the Dr. Macey E McAleer walks in. She sees my husband and then comes out so she can see me. Before she does I asked if she did the contact exam on my husband. When she tells me that she didnt I asked many questions as to why she didnt (all the while I do have an upset look on my face). She clearly did not like being questioned because she lost her cool very quickly. I finally dropped it and said fine lets just get my exam done which at that point she said she couldnt and needed a moment to compose herself. While she was in the back my husband asked How did this get so escalated, I answered She clearly does not know how to handle difficult situations and does not know how to provide good customer service. As soon as I finished my statement she she walk out very heated and said Alright thats it Im not seeing either of you. Please keep in mind that she alright started my husbands exam and had dilated his eye (I was not aware of this). We left and as soon as we walked outside the sun caused my husband a lot of discomfort. I have never in my life experienced such unprofessional service from a doctor.

Everyone there is often already helping someone. I cant even pick up my glasses I ordered because the 2 people who work there are always busy. Nice prices though

The best care my family has ever received from an optometrist. Friendly, professional and thorough. We travel from Lakeland to see her because we know she cares and takes her time to listen and really help. Readily available, too! I’ve never called for an appt that I couldn’t be seen within 24-48 hours.

I did not enjoy my experience here but it seems most other people have so im hoping my experience was a fluke. I live in St Pete but my companys new insurance covers more places in Tampa. I really like Target so I thought Id love their optical care. I scheduled an appointment. They didnt have great availability but it was fine. I met the doctor, it wasnt Dr. Mcaleer, it was another female provider. I told her I really liked my current lenses and didnt want to change the brand. She insisted that I go from the purevision 2s to the pirevision soft lenses. I was hesitant because i do really like my current lenses but she assured me they would be better and that if i didnt like them she could write a new script over the phone so i wouldnt have to come back. I tried the new ones and they were very uncomfortable and noticable in my eye even though I have worn contacts for over 10 years. I gave them like 3 or 4 weeks and i could not get used to them. No big deal though. I called the office and explained my situation but the receptionist informed me that the doctor who wrote my script had left the practice, literally weeks after I saw her and that I would have to be seen AGAIN by a different doctor in order to have my old script written and it had to be within a certain amount of time (2 months i think?) Or they would charge me for the second visit. Needless to say I was very frustrated with this. The receptionist, i think her name was jen, was sensing my frustration and getting frustrated herself which really didnt make me feel any better and I wasnt able to speak with a doctor about it. I ended up having to come back again after taking a second day off from work because they didnt have weekend availability and drive over the bridge in traffic just to have this other doctor look at my eyes for literally 2 mins and give me the second script. I know some things in this situation were out of their control but other things were not handled as I would have hoped. ALSO target assured me their contact prices are better than 1800 contacts but they are not. 1800 contacts has been my go to for years and always offered $45 rebates and $10-$20 coupons and has the best prices of any company an excellent customer service.

Sandy, Macey and Omar s service was exceptional. They made feel comfortable and were very friendly and helpful. The exam was quick. Macey is very professional and thorough in the process and she cares. Sandy and Omar went above and beyond and I walked out with confidence knowing Ill be getting a great pair of glasses. I highly suggest using them moving forward.

I received good service last year but this year, the contact lens trials took a long time to come (>2 weeks) and then scheduling for another appointment to see whats wrong with my prescription takes another 2 weeks. I still dont have a correct prescription to order new contacts and overall it will have taken >1 month to get anywhere.

Absolutely hands down the best optometrist Ive been too! I did not feel rushed in the exam chair. And was asked if I had an questions, or concerns. Im very happy I found such an excellent optometrist. Overall my experience was wonderful. And I will definitely be back for another exam. Thank you Dr. McAleer for giving me clear vision again. I highly recommend you schedule your next exam with Dr. McAleer.

Place has really gone down hill. Costs have skyrocketed... $535 for contacts? $50 for the vision exam when the copay is supposed to be $10? Im going to Visionworks or LensCrafters next year!

It’s been four weeks and my glasses still haven’t arrived, the lab apparently just isn’t communicating with Target why and I’m being left completely in the dark. The doctor is nice and I would go here for an exam again but I don’t recommend going here for glasses.

Been coming to Doc M and the Target Optical team for a couple years now and can say that by far they are the most professional and personable optometry team I have ever been to. Ive been wearing glasses for nearly 40 years, so have seen an optimetry clinic or two in my days. I do have to comment on the one persons negative comment who obviously has an issue with pregnant women. That comment was extremely rude and quite frankly ignorant! I have never known this Dr (or any for that matter) that is not available for a scheduled appointment and you typically dont walk in for an optical appointment....so not sure if this guy is just an unhappy person or maybe one of those millennials in which the world revolves around him??? Anyway, I advise anyone looking for an optometrist who actually cares about her patients and loves her job, who employs a team of professionals that you consider this office for your next vision related visit.

The best crew ever!!! I live basically across the street from a target in Riverview but drive to Tampa due to the experience I have everytime I come in. They make you feel like family. I am not the one to write reviews but they have always gone above and beyond to make sure I have everything I need.

Went for eye exam. Doctor told me pupil distance would be given to me out front. Was told at desk that PD measurement was only free with purchase of glasses. Offered to purchase PD measurement but was refused.Update: doctor gave me requested PD measurement

What a great team. From the Optician i.e. Macey - kind, funny, and skilled. Omar, most patient guy ever, took a good hour helping me out with the best deal I could get in my price range with the kind of glasses I wanted. Jennifer, always there to answer questions and help out and suggest. All these guys were busy, but took time out for everyones needs patiently. 5/5 stars. Exceptional service. Setting the bar up really high for everyone else. You can tell these people actually like their job. Applause to you guys if youre reading this.

Dr. McAleer was absolutely fantastic in helping my eyesight recover from a bout with shingles. The care and treatment plan recommended by Macey were so good that I didnt have to visit the cornea specialist that she recommended. If in need of eye care, rest assured that Dr. McAleer is more than capable of taking care of you.

Make sure you double check your insurance yourself and your worry free coverage. Insurance was billed wrong and we were told that if we came back before the end of the month they would replace a pair of broken glasses under the worry free protection plan we paid for. So when we came back 3 days later, the first woman couldnt figure out how to do the worry free replacement plan, so asks the other woman working who comes over, says its expired, and then was so condescending when we tried to explain what we were told, that she told us there are not any guys that work there...then ohhhh, I forgot about him.Bottom line, go here if you want employees that dont know what they are doing, are rude and have zero customer service skills.We will be going somewhere else for our glasses and contact needs!!
