Dr. Nguyen and his staff were very courteous and helpful during my eye exam and Rosie was extremely nice and pleasant ( as she was when we got my daughter’s glasses) in helping me choose my new glasses. She even tightened and cleaned my old pair while I was there. I will definitely be returning to this target optical location in the future.

Big “Thank You” to Rosie at Target Optical Garland. In a time where kindness is shortcoming, she was very friendly, professional and courteous. There were 4 people in the store, and she showed equal attention to us all checking for questions and our needs. She offered to adjust my glasses while I browsed. This may sound simple; but sadly good customer service is sometimes hard to find and get. Thanks again Rosie. May your kindness be reciprocated.

Rosie made my experience awesome! She was Very good at her job. She was intelligent fun and everything I needed today. I’ve always worn blue frames, but today I bought a pair of red frames! I also took in a pair of red frames is bought earlier but didn’t like the lens. She’s making them into sun glasses! So inexpensive and I got 40% off which helped(no insurance).

Rosie at the target optical at 5301 N. Garland Ave. in Garland 75040 was amazing. She was very knowledgeable and very helpful in helping me pick out the correct frames. She pointed out the differences in the different types of frames and what would be best for me. This is my second year going to target. Marcella helped me last year and she was also amazing.

I do not recommend. I went in for an eye exam and was informed that my eye contact exam could not be conducted here that my insurance only covered for eye glasses. Which was a little strange to me, my insurance is usually accepted everywhere. Since the appointment was already scheduled I decided to still continue with the appointment to then again be asked if I will like to get a eye contact exam it will be full price out of pocket. At that point I almost felt like they were pressuring me to pay or sell there service and usually my insurance is very good at answering any questions I have on the app chat or over the phone, but that day there system was down. So my attempt to call while I was inside the office failed. I did not live near this location but since this office had almost immediate openings that should of been the red flag, I decided to shop somewhere else for lenses. So now that I was able to verify with my insurance and where I purchased my lenses (my local target) I have confirmed they did in fact take my insurance and can not begin to explain how frustrating this was to find out during a pandemic when I am at risk and exposing myself to now have to schedule another appointment (not at this location of course) for an office that did not bother to look into why my insurance was not accepted as I did let them know I was almost sure my insurance should of covered it, and instead they wanted to make sure I paid full price. I will be reaching out to see if I can formally voice my complaint and if you were unsure of visiting this office. Look somewhere else where they actually value you as a customer not looking to make a sale.***update***I went to my local target today (almost a month later) for the contact exam I had scheduled since this office claimed my insurance was NOT accepted. Not only could they not help me but they showed me how the this office not only failed to take my contact exam through my insurance. But I can not get any type of eye exam until another 11 months. I have called the office and informed them this information not only did I not get an apology but they told me they would reach out to me, and I have not heard from them. My next step will be reaching out to my insurance and possibly looking into appeal my benefits for that day because now I am without an contact exam, and NO ONE has reached out to me with a solution. Unbelievable, please DO NOT GO TO THIS OFFICE.

The lady that helped me with the frames was so rude, she was lucky I needed to use my benefits today or else I would have left. She helped everyone choose frames except me and when I sat down to choose between 4 frames she rudely asked me which ones you want, I looked at her and said I was deciding between two and she like okay but which ones do you want very rudely, she’s the older Hispanic women with brown hair, she (I’m hoping) accidentally kicked me under the table and didn’t even apologize. I will not be back. I should have gotten her name as well because her nose was constantly exposed while we were sitting on the table.

My advice would be, dont go to the Optical store, the new Dr, is fine however. why why why keep pressuring people into getting frames? That isnt what sales should look like. If the customer is uncomfortable than just leave them be. I also blame target in general for having such terrible customer service, not answering emails. etc.

I went inside trying to buy some frames. The lady that was working today. Very rude and lazy. She was to much in hurry to get back to her phone. She did not even let me look. I will never come back and I will make sure to tell everyone I know to never come here. I never write reviews like this but they need better employees.4:11 pm 07/14/20

Look, this review isn’t for the fact that they were perfect and I didn’t have any problems. This review is because even when there was a typo in the prescription, they were kind and professional and took care of the situation. I’m not looking for groveling or “I’m sorry”’s which don’t help the situation, I look for how fast and prompt are they at fixing the issue. And if you are kind and respectful to them, they take care of you. Thanks Dr. Tran.

I agree with all of the reviews. Yet a young lady Robyn helped me and my wife. She was the only friendly person working there. I was reluctant to order only glasses. She was such a big help I ended up ordering two pair. I hope senior management sees this post and recognizes her dedication.

Facility is filthy and a mess. Doctor/optometrist doesnt have very good bedside manner. Printer wasnt working, had to wait 15 minutes just to get my prescription. Not friendly or helpful, would not recommend. Front optical center not helpful, took my business to Zenni online.

Dr. Tran was ok. The issue is with the overcharging. Charged me full price for an exam, even though it is covered by my insurance. Was not able to get resolved. I got the one year Target protection plan, was told it covers loss. I tried to do a claim and was told it does not. Also it’s ridiculous that you charge $5 to get a copy of YOUR own prescription. Most places provide it for free, business must be slow.. I wonder why.

Do NOT come here. Dr. Tran will charge you an arm and a leg for a contact fitting and not even follow up with you! Ive been going to Dr. Tran for YEARS because he is the closest optometrist to me. I tried a new optometrist yesterday and it truly opened my eyes to how poorly Target Optical treats patients and what Ive been missing out on.I am not high maintenance. I am not demanding. I just want to be able to see clearly and find contacts that are a good fit for me. Over the last several years, I thought it was a good thing that Dr. Tran only spent less than 5 minutes with me because to me that meant efficiency. Boy, was I wrong...I decided to start wearing contact lenses a couple of years ago so I had to pay extra on top of the eye exam for a contact fitting. Yes, you always pay more for a contact fitting but if Im gonna be dishing out THAT MUCH EXTRA MONEY, I expect more than what Dr. Tran offered me. What the new optometry office I tried taught me was that you are supposed to trial different pairs of contact lenses and come back for a follow up so you can find the perfect pair for YOU. If you dont like the pair youre given, you follow up and try a different pair. With Dr. Tran and Target Optical, he basically forced a pair of Acuvue Oasys 2-week lenses on me and had me order a supply through his optometry technicians. The last couple of years the only lenses I ever knew were Acuvue Oasys. I blindly trusted Dr. Tran to give me the lenses that were best for my eyes. I didnt know I could try monthly pairs or even daily pairs. How many other brands was I missing out on? A lot! After going to a new optometry office, I realized I really do not like Acuvue Oasys! They always dry out really quickly for me and even fall out of my eyes later during the day. Dr. Tran would know that had he bothered to follow up with me and educate me properly on the multitude of contact lenses out there.All these years I never realized that youre supposed to trial different pairs and come back for a follow up to truly find the right fit for you...

Not a good dr. At all. He is extremely rude! I told him the problem I had with contacts slipping before and he told me I was wrong. However mine are slipping again. Very frustrating!! Definitely will not ever go back here again.

Yesterday I visited this place for an exam and glasses. Customer service at the entrance was good. The treatment of the optometrist was Excellent, but when I went to the part where the frame is chosen, the employee was very hostile in front of me. Children and I do not know the name why I preferred to leave. I went to another Target optician. And the deal was 100%.
