Smells bad and prices were high. Lettuce @ 2.99 unbelievable got it for .99 and better looking. Enchilada sauce 3.69 got it for 1.99 same brand and size

Today I bought marinade chicken pieces from the butcher section. Cooked them and they smelled like shrimp also tasted like shrimp. I had to throw the 3 lbs that I had purchased because I didnt think it was safe. No chicken should smell or taste like shrimp. Also there was no milk in the refrigerator aisle.

Easy in and enough room to maneuver. Go behind Little Caesars and use the side entrance. In and out in 45 minutes.

Dirty. Filthy. No air conditioning. I feel sorry for their employees that have to work under such conditions. Disgusting. I started shopping there because it was close by. Now Im just surprised that the health department has not shut them down.Shop at your own risk.

I really use this establishment 4 sending my grandkids monies 4 special occasions. Never bought any food here. Tho the produce department looks good.

Been my local neighborhood store since I was 13 years old and I’ve not once had a negative experience. Staff and I know eachother on a first name basis and I can say they are all very friendly and respectful, night shift manager is particularly good at keeping the store running smooth! 👍

Will not give prices of meat over the phone seems like a wierd practice to me what would you be hiding or not wanting customers to know prices. Most likely because its a rip off recommend northgate or cardenas at least they have customer service and will simply answer your questions and guess what no surprises once you you drive to the store.

The excellent grocery/small restaurant makes this place a privilege to be by nearby store to grab all your necessary 😊 food to shop and enjoy. There are different types of drinks with special fruits to consider and try when visiting. The grocery is unique as far as getting authenticity and a affordable descent price.

They are not friendly to people who arent Hispanic or who dont speak Spanish. I only go here occasionally because my sick grandma cant find anywhere else close that sells the type of sweet potato she likes. I dont know if the prices there are any better than other places but Id assume so because my grandma is a thrifty shopper.

If you want to pay ridiculous prices for everyday items then Maxi Foods is for you. I mean it was almost $5 for a pound of cheddar cheese! Split peas went up from $1.19 a one pound bag to $1.69! And i really am not liking the remodel. The cashier even questioned a sale items price for bacon normally $5.99 for $2.99 that she requested a price check. That was irritating even after telling her that it was correct. What was I gonna do? Fix the price on her register? Whatever. I only go there if I have to and only for what is truly on sale.

Maxi foods on California, riverside is my favorite location, even though it doesnt sell ready made hot food to go like the store on university ave. Riverside. Its not crazy packed when I shop there. Good food ok prices for meats & vegetables.

Good deals but I bought 4 sweet potatoes but they turned out rotten. When I went back to exchange them but they didnt help me one bit with out a receipt and all I wanted to do if exchange them.

The prices keep going up and the quality of the meat keep going down they cut down on the spices of the fajitas.The Mexican bread is nothing but flour and shortening no quality ingredients I stopped shopping there

I like that they carry stuff my regular staters brothers does not carry, like the stuff I needed to make Guatemalan tamales the first time I tried to make them. I had a weird experience once, my husband and I were on a budget and we usually calculate everything we are buying and try to go for the deals just like we do at out local stater brothers. They had an employee following us the whole time like if we were going to steal something. I wasn’t doing anything wrong but It was still a bit annoying. I guess its good that they have vigilant staff.

Some things are all like Mas y menos specifically prices on dairy or really random items like pasta sauce. But overall Maxi Foods is mi amigo primero when it comes to cheap produce. Their produce is basically gratis! Youre gonna be blowing mas dineros if you get your produce down at the Harmanos de Staters instead of Maxi Foods.

We find the best Peruvian beans here. Also great fresh fruit and vegtables at a reasonable price!

This store has improved, nothing extraordinary but a slight bit better than in the recent past. Still has a decent variety of meats and fish with some good staff working behind the counter.The reason for my two star rating is the private security guard outside of the place. As he observed me taking several pixs with my carmera phone on the premises, in the parking areas, he asked what I was doing. It was obvious what I was doing, although I did respond that I was taking some photos. He then asked why. Because I like to, I said in return.Well you cant be taking pictures here, he retorted. I can and I am, it is a constitutional priveledge, I said in reply.The haphazardly uniformed, disheveled looking private rent a cop then started yammering about how he knows the U S Constitution and then ordered me to ...stop taking pictures, now!I continued my photography and went to my automobile when I finished. As I was driving out of the lot this same lame brained security jerk ran into my path, apparently attempting to photograph me, causing me to swerve in order to miss running him over.If this is the best semblance of security this shopping plaza, where this Maxi Foods is the anchor store, can obtain then I would not recommend going here.
