Took my car in for a head casket repair, Some parts took longer then usual so Paul instantly called me and let me know about the delay and offer me a free oil change once it’s needed. A few months went by and I have had no more issue with my car not only that they check my car again to make sure there were no issue also Paul honor his word and did change my oil for free!They are so polite honest and respectful and will do there best to fix your car problems. I would highly recommend this shop and also affordable!

I was looking for a new shop after moving, and Ive found it. They were helpful, looked everything over and didnt do or recommend anything unexpected. Further, they were very friendly and let me know I could take care of the engine and cabin filter myself (I like to do small things on my car- it makes me feel handy), which I did, and they kept the cost of the oil change very reasonable. Ill be going back for all my future service, because trust is the most important thing I look for in a car shop. They were honest, prompt, and extremely helpful in meeting my car care goals!

Gave us a dicount on the oil, and the total amount came out to be a more than fair price. And gave me ride home, plus had a good conversation. They seem like very good people. My vehicle was having battery issues and I couldn’t figure out why. I took my car In and I thought the customer service was great but realized this place just takes advantage of clients who aren’t familiar with auto work. They called to let me know I would need a new battery since mine was “leaking” and the connections needed to be redone. Total charge to fix: $430.00. I told the shop I was not able to pay that much. The shop literally charged me $135 to just look at my vehicle. So I took my vehicle to autozone to check my battery. My battery was fine! Not even leaking! All I had to purchase was a $3 part from autozone and my car has not had any battery issues since. So if youre a broke student that wants to be taken advantage of like me apparently, then go here.

Had a flat tire that needed to be replaced with the spare, but I didnt have the proper tool.Had the van towed to The Car Shop. Not only did they have the required tool the lower the spare from under the van, but they changed the tire at no cost and within minutes of my arrival. Now that may have to do with any agreement they might have with USAA Insurance, but they could have charged me and I would have been none the wiser. I suspect though it is actually an indication of their superior customer service.I say this because in addition to the prompt service they gave me the tool I needed FOR FREE. Its an old one anyway. WOW! Completely unexpected and appreciated.I highly recommend The Car Shop if you need service on your vehicle. I will definitely be going to them for my future needs.

I moved to Tempe 4 years ago as a not-car-savvy 18 year old, 1700 miles away from my family. I and am so fortunate to have found such a great shop. Paul and Tom have taken exceptional care of me throughout my college career. They are always willing to call my dad, or to explain everything to me in a very understandable way.They are always honest, professional and kind. I was in an accident one week before I was supposed to move to Oregon. Even with it being toward the end of the week these lovely people check out my car and got her fixed on short notice in time for me to get out of AZ. They even topped off my oils free of charge for me, knowing I had a long trip. Great prices, great service.

These guys did a very job to repair the body of my Dodge Dakota pickup, which had tail end damage from a parking lot collision. The owner was very straightforward and honest and worked with my concerns. Workmanship was very good. I waited 2 months to write this review to make sure the work was showing resilience.

Rip off! If you would have told me a complete cost, I may have gotten it done. You told me it would cost another approx $360 and then most likely more repairs after that. Im sure this isnt the first time youve seen this problem. I feel that I was being led on for more money. If you knew what you were doing, you could have given me a total cost up front.

Would come here again. Got a new set tires for my Prius and they checked the alignment. Was in and out the same day.

Ok so the first time I was there was when I had to get $1500 worth of stuff done and honestly it seems like just a regular car shop but PAUL is just a homie now. Very accommodating when I call him (my car is basically falling a part lol). The people who work there don’t treat me any different because I’m a woman or poc which has been my experience at other places. Also, they are always happy to call my mom and explain things to her (I’m a color student) which makes communication a lot easier.

Paul is such a nice and humorous guy plus his accent is amazing haha! He got my car taken care of extremely quickly and the price couldn’t have been better. This is definitely the best car shop I have ever been to and from now on, they’ll always be my go-to. :)

I needed a diagnose on my truck. And my truck was a bit older so you couldnt just plug a scanner to it. They were able to find the exact problem. I usually do my own work to my vehicle and they were understanding. They recommended brands of parts to buy. Most mechanics dont understand when you want just a diagnoses but they did!!

I love The Car Shop! I have taken my car there at least 1/2 a dozen times and they are always super quick and are reasonably priced. Pauly is a super good dude and very accommodating. I am always happy with their service.

I have three vehicles that the Car Shop has been taking care of for many years. I appreciate their honesty and professionalism when it comes to car repairs. I have and will continue to recommend them to my family, friends and associates.Cars are fickle, and no one can be perfect every time. I had an issue one time and they acknowledged it, stepped up and corrected it and that earned my business. I live in Mesa and go out of my way to have them service my vehicles in Tempe. I try to do all my own car work. I could not find an AC leak myself. They were able to find it for a very reasonable diagnostic fee and the person who diagnosed it took the time to show me the exact location. Blowing ice cold air after a quick fix. They were quick and priced fairly.

The Car Shop, and Paul especially, as usual, provided me with excellent service. Id been told repeatedly that my aging Jeep wasnt worth repairing. Id also been told by 3 or 4 other mechanics that I had a rear main seal leak, and they were advising to not bother repairing it because Id likely need a new engine soon (Jeep has 220K+ miles on it). The Car Shop found that the primary leak was not in the rear main seal at all, and that my engine still sounded and pressure tested just fine and that it was worth fixing the leak. Its been over 2 weeks, and I havent lost a drop of oil. The Jeep is running better than ever (we did some other work as well, such as replacing the engine and transmission mounts). They also fixed an issue with the Jeep failing emissions, and handled taking it back through for me and getting it to pass. I have always found The Car Shop to be fair, straight forward, and honest. Paul worked with me patiently to come up with a repair plan I could afford, helping me prioritize which repairs were most important and which could wait. And, my personal favorite aspect of working with Paul: he didnt talk down to me. Ive had many mechanics be dismissive or unwilling to explain, or even get offended at me questioning them—presumably because Im a woman (or maybe because Im not a mechanic). That has never happened to me dealing with Paul. He speaks to me respectfully and recognizes my cognitive ability. That goes a LONG way with me. (Especially since Im the type of woman to change my own oil, or replace my own ignition coil, and I dont at all care to be treated like I wouldnt understand mechanical issues.) I would and have highly recommended The Car Shop to friends and family.

I have known of The Car Shop since 2000 when it was my employers (Sonora Quest) fleet service. I have been taking my cars here for service and repairs for the last ten years. Always treated fairly and professionally. Everyone is courteous and friendly, especially Paul and Tom. Never had a problem, and, I know if I did, they would be quick to rectify it.

Really close to my house which is convenient. I took my charger in to have the brakes and a weird clicking sound checked out. They found the problem to both issues and replaced the rear brake pads for a quality price. My car sounds great so far. They are nice and have a sense of humor and the mechanics are definitely knowledgeable. I will be taking my car back for future needs.

When I moved to Tempe in July of 2013 I looked through AAA recommended shops and The Car Shop was closest to my house. I am thankful this was the closest one! They have been awesome. From oil changes to fixing my broken automatic window, they have always given me a fair price and explained the work that was done. I drop off my car early without an appointment for oil changes and its typically ready within a few hours. They are also really nice. I highly recommend them.

I was having problems with my 1999 BMW 328i and was visiting from California....you never know who to trust in the auto business weve all had our nightmare stories to tell. With that said, I was totally at ease with the gentlemen from The Car Shop from the first minute in the shop. They were good explaining things to me and even showing me on my car what they were doing. Big Paul, with I believe to be a charming New Zealand accent, was awesome, and Ken the mechanic did a bang up job on my car, I come to Phoenix a lot so they will be seeing me again. I went to The Car Shop for just a routine oil change and got the help I needed for a very good price. One of the employees named Paul was very friendly and informative on what theyd be doing. Id be happy to give my business to them in the future.

The five stars I gave them is well deserved. It was Sunday, 11:30 at night when my fuel pump decided to give up after trying to pass a semi coming off the 10 to my exit. Called Paul the next morning to let him know my truck was coming. When my truck was at The Car Shop, I explained to Paul what happened. Initially, I was told it wasnt going to be until the next day that my truck was going to be ready so I was prepared to get a rental and even made reservations. At about 4:45 Paul called me to let me know my truck was ready with a new fuel pump. These guys have work on all my vehicles and will not hesitate to use then again. They are that awesome.

Dave was very friendly, helpful, and surprisingly funny. Ask him about his extrovert accountant joke! :) I thought my car needed an $80 alignment. Dave said it didnt and fixed the problem for $15. I definitely will come back!

Ive been using this shop for over 10 years. They are professional, fast and honest. There is frequent communication from the time you drop off your vehicle until you pick it up. I have referred several of my friends here and they have been pleased. I read the 1-star reviews and I think that most of those folks are just upset that car repairs can be expensive. The guys at The Car Shop would never do any unnecessary repairs.

Honest ShopI have used these guys for years and they have always been upfront and honest about what is needed. When they couldnt fix an emission issue, ended up being a bad part from the dealer, they didnt charge me a dime for any of the work and refunded the original repair to the diagnosis cost.When I thought my car was toast they found it was a warranty issue from the 07 models and i just needed a firmware update and a new battery they even got it started so I could go buy a battery from Auto Zone as I was struggling at that time!

As a small town girl living in a big city, finding someone you can trust is a big deal! We have been taking our vehicles to The Car Shop since 2010. Weve had some costly repairs done in addition to routine vehicle maintenance over the years, and weve been taken care of every time. They worked well with our insurance company when my a/c unit lost a battle to some road debris, and the quickness of the repair did not go unnoticed in the middle of July! About 3 years ago we moved to another valley city, but well continue going to The Car Shop to do any work on our vehicles.
